Sticking with the intermittent fasting and just completed a 40 hour fast and several days over 20 hours. Still cutting out sugars and limiting caffeine, putting all the savings into a jar we’ll give to charity at the end of the year. I am in the process of putting together 30 days worth of posts about heavy metal inspired fiction. Shooting to start releasing the videos on Aug 1. Beyond Brightside set for release Nov. 24. I am loving how motivated I am right now about my career and health, taking big steps to improve both. On the business side I just hired someone to redesign my website, improve all my book descriptions, design the cover for "The Rules." I am also about to embark on a new mission of reviewing at least 3 books a week until I've gone through my entire Stephen King collection and other cool books lying around the house. On the personal side, I've been doing intermittent fasting and cutting down caffeine to get to a better weight. A close friend who got Covid teaches me an important lesson. How I've been playing a lot more bass than guitar lately. A nice vacation at the beach and my son constantly grabbing and playing with my fat rolls has gotten me restarted on intermittent fasting, lowering my caffeine intake, and increasing exercise. On October 6, 2019, there was a celebration of the famed Antenna Club. It was quite the Midtown Memphis venue in it's day. Some of the best music in the world was played at that storied spot. The celebration involved the placing of a marker for those to remember what it was like in those days. That weekend, Memphis saw musicians who gathered to celebrate The Antenna Club with special tribute shows at several Midtown venues. One of those was Lorette Velvette who came into the Radio Memphis studios to visit with Ric Chetter about her time on The Antenna Club stage as well as her new LP. New in that this record had not been released but was a compilation of her work with many other Memphis musicians through the years. On this special presentation, you'll hear some cuts off the new LP and some of the stories that bubbled up from that famed stage at The Antenna Club.

Memphis music royalty came to the Radio Memphis studios on a recent Saturday night for a wonderful little moment with Keith Sykes and some of his stories. Along the way, he played a few songs from his extensive catalog. Over the years, Keith has found himself in some interesting places, writing music with some interesting people and playing those songs on some interesting stages. When you talk Memphis music, you can't leave out the name Keith Sykes. Nashville duo Friendship Commanders dropped into Radio Memphis in The Morning with Ric Chetter to hype up an appearance in midtown. They brought some music from their latest collection, Bill. This band is a socially conscious outfit who hit on heavy rock and punk with some very memorable lyrics and licks. So how does a band like this get a way with not having a bass player? If the name Whey Jennings sounds familiar, it should. Whey is the grandson of Waylon Jennings. He stopped into Radio Memphis in The Morning with Ric Chetter to talk about an appearance in Memphis. But they also talked about songwriting, touring, influences and his famous grandfather. Currently, Whey is on the road with former members of David Allen Coe's band now known as Cold Moses. Before you think of Whey as nothing more than a country artist, you would be mistaken. Although they do play country, they also play some of Waylon Jennings music as well as blues and rock & roll. Radio Memphis I’ve always been fascinated with radio. The voices that brought you the music were familial and consistent. Radio has changed. Terrestrial radio is on its last leg as people are taking matters into their own hands and broadcasting on the Internet. Radio Memphis is a product of this trend towards self-reliance. Radio Memphis is an Internet radio station run by Ric Chetter who spent years in traditional radio as a programmer and on-air personality at Rock 103.
