“The Uplift Mofo Party Plan” is a plan based on a band, a band based on a plan. But...it's also a Dharma talk offered at Two Hands Sangha that explores what the Buddha had to say about inspiration. Not the “hang in there” poster kind, but the living rhythm of pasāda (faith, confidence) and veda (joy, uplift). We'll look at how these two qualities work together to carry us out of boredom, through the hindrances, and onto the path of freedom. Listen in, and see how even the smallest spark of faith can lead to joy, and how joy itself becomes the fuel for practice. Enjoy! (Also, only the title is related to the song, so that's either a bug or a feature, depending on what you like!) https://bio.reverendgeorgebeecher.com

Summer is in full swing—can you feel the vibrant, expansive energy in the air? This season invites us to play, express ourselves fully, and soak up all the joy it has to offer. And yet, with all that momentum, there's also a quiet whisper reminding us not run ourself into the ground. In this episode, we explore what it means to give ourselves permission to pause, to move at our own pace, and to find harmony along the spectrum between energy booms and busts. In this episode I talk about: A mindful moment from my new book, 100 Mindful Moments to Balance & Energize "Turn FOMO into MOFO." Strengthening our mindfulness muscles helps us build awareness so that we can discern our choices with more clarity (ie. do we want to be social or not) as well as supports us building capacity to meet the moment just as it it. This episode started off with a simple search for a Mother’s Day song. I just wanted to check out what songs I had about moms. But I noticed something quite off. I also had quite a few songs whose title included a much longer word that included the word mother. Like a whole plethora of songs that a polite person like myself would never, ever knowingly type in a show description like this. So that’s what we have tonight. 39 songs whose titles involves a certain expletive. It’s quite a fun show, but if you are NOT a fan of profranity you may want to wait for next week’s show. I won’t take it personally. For more info, including setlists, head to http://scotthudson.blogspot.com

As we continue into 2025, state attorneys general (AGs) will play a pivotal role in shaping environmental policy and enforcement. With anticipated resistance to environmental regulation rollbacks and a continued focus on climate change litigation, understanding these trends is crucial to manage risk and ensure compliance. In the latest episode of MoForecast, Morrison Foerster partners Carrie H. Cohen, global co-chair of the Investigations + White Collar Defense Group and State + Local Government Enforcement team, and Bill Tarantino, leader of MoFo's global Environmental practice, discuss predicted trends in state AG environmental enforcement for 2025. They explore the differing priorities between Democratic and Republican AGs, with Democratic AGs likely pursuing aggressive climate policies, while Republican AGs focus on challenging regulatory overreach and emphasizing fiduciary duties in ESG practices. Despite these differences, bipartisan efforts are expected to address critical public health issues such as clean drinking water, with a particular focus on lead and PFAS chemicals. These trends also highlight the importance of staying informed and prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Missed registering for the Become Passion program? We can help you out! The first live class is this weekend. Email support@drcherylfraser.com and we can try to get you in the back door! Dr. Cheryl, how can I learn to sincerely apologize? Should I be worried that my partner and I fight? How can I make up with my partner after we argue? Imagine I install a camera in your home and record everything you say to your partner for a week—would you be comfortable sharing that footage with your nearest and dearest? The good, the bad, and the ugly? Or would you be ashamed and embarrassed at how you speak and interact with your sweetheart, especially in times of anger or frustration? Human beings in relationships are going to have disagreements—that's a fact of life. It sounds harsh, but if most people actually recorded themselves for a week and listened back to the way they spoke to their partner, they would be very disappointed in themselves. The trick is to make sure you and your honey both have the tools to have disagreements that aren't destructive - disagreements that actually help bring you closer together. I know, right? In this throwback episode, I talk about why a sincere vow to do better is one of the most important tools in your relationship arsenal, and why a mindful apology is an art in and of itself. I teach you the value of what I call “do-over. This love hack is super beneficial when you're arguing with your sweetie. In fact, I'll show you how you can start practicing the technique today. Speaking kindly and thoughtfully to your partner is an integral part of a successful relationship. We can't just sit back and wait for our relationships to become fabulous and earth-shattering—we're responsible for creating that ourselves... In This Episode, You Will Learn: If you're just sitting around and waiting for passion—good luck with that! YOU are responsible for creating a great relationship. Want to rate your relationship on the three keys to great long term love? Take the Passion Quiz. Today's episode of Sex, Love, and Elephants is one of my favorites from the early days of the podcast. In it, I talk about why a sincere vow to do better is one of the most important tools in your relationship arsenal, and why a mindful apology is an art in and of itself. If I installed a camera in your home and recorded everything you said to your partner for a week—would you be comfortable sharing that footage with your nearest and dearest? The good, the bad, and the ugly? Or would you be ashamed and embarrassed at how you speak and interact with your sweetheart, especially in times of anger or frustration? Human beings in relationships are going to have disagreements—that's a fact of life. It sounds harsh, but if most people actually recorded themselves for a week and listened back to the way they spoke to their partner, they would be very disappointed in themselves. The trick is to make sure you and your honey both have the tools to have disagreements that aren't destructive—disagreements that actually help bring you closer together. I know, right? In This Episode, You Will Learn: YOU are responsible for creating a great relationship (04:26) When you're agitated, your body floods with adrenaline and cortisol, creating temporary aggression and irrationality (06:24) The opposite of kind speech is ugly speech (09:50) If you're in a relationship with a real, live human being, you're going to have disagreements… and that's totally fine. Today, Shannon is joined by one of her very favorite podcasts, Good Children! Joe Hegyes & Andrew Muscarella reflect on their 23 years of friendship growing up in the late 2000s/early 2010s and all the nostalgia & trauma that come with it. Shannon, Joe, & Andrew admit some of their own asshole-ish behavior.
