We're joined once again by Kevin Siembieda of Palladium Books, for the sixth part in our big retrospective series of chats. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we did! Drop us a line! You can follow us (sporadically) on Facebook, and we'd love to see you on our Discord Channel too. Following up on last episode's theme, we're doing another brief game introduction, this time on Palladium's late Robotech RPG. This one is Matthew's all time favorite, and as such we have a lot of glowing things to say about it. Give us a listen, and let us know what your own favorite Robotech RPG memories are! Since our launch we’ve had nothing but great support from the gaming community and since launching on Apple Podcasts we’ve received our first review. In celebration of that, we are dedicating this episode to the games that got us starting in the Palladium system. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Robotech RPG. We had been big fans of the original TMNT comic plus the Robotech television show, so being avid Dungeons & Dragons players, jumping into the RPG’s based on two of our favorite properties was a no-brainer. The license for these games has come and gone twice for Palladium Books but we still look on these games and the artwork fondly. One of the most sought-after names in Robotech RPG circles, Dave Deitrich was the main driving force behind the Third Invid War Robotech RPG fan-supplement. Nowadays it is not uncommon to see posts on the Palladium Robotech RPG forum or other Robotech boards asking whatever became of him and whether he will ever do more work with the Third Invid War supplement. In the first hour of this five-hour talkcast, we interview him and get his take on the past of Robotech fandom. After that, Tommy Yune shows up, and we all have another hour and a half of conversation. Then he has to go, but old-school Robotech fans John Hokansen (from the old mailing list) and Ken Olson (from Robotech Research) join us for some more conversation. This is one of the best shows yet, and more are in the offing! (NOTE: There are scattered four-letter words in the later portions of this show.) Thanks to Robotech fan Wayne Joyce for saving this show!
