Responders, representing relevant authorities and humanitarian actors, rely on online communication during and after disasters and emergencies - both as a tool to reach exposed populations, to organize and coordinate responses and to mobilize resources. However, disasters and emergencies also spark more problematic online attention and reactions including the targeting of marginalized populations. IFRCs World Disaster Report 2026 featured a contribution from Yasin Duman, Research Specialist and Shona Whitton, Heading the Technical Team both representing the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement MHPSS Hub. The topic of the contribution was Online racism and mental health after disasters. This podcast, moderated by Dr. Carmen Valle-Trabadelo, Head of the Communications, Humanitarian Diplomacy and Research Team in the MHPSS Hub, pics up some of the key-examples discussed in the contribution and links them to the broader discussion of the mental health implications, the causalities that generate them and the potential mitigation measures needed to address them. For further information: IFRC World Disaster Report, Contribution, Online racism and mental health after disasters. Borno Gov Praises Tinubu But Indicates Army Didn't Rescue 416 Women, Kidshttps://osazuwaakonedo.news/borno-gov-praises-tinubu-but-indicates-army-didnt-rescue-416-women-kids/#AFN #army #Babagana #Borno #BOSYA #Ngoshe #Gwoza #Maiduguri #Pulka #Zulum Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum may have given a clearer picture and addressed some fundamental issues in the Press Release issued by the Nigerian Army on Saturday that caused mixed reactions among members of the public, especially Borno Youths under the umbrella body of Borno South Youth Alliance, BOSYA who had condemned the military for saying in the press release that its men rescued 360 out of the 416 women and children held hostage by the Boko haram terrorists based on intelligence driven efforts that made the terrorists to flee and abandoned their victims upon sighting the superior power of the men of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, AFN, with some of the terrorists arrested, but, the State Governor, Babagana Zulum while speaking during his assessment visit to Pulka community on Monday, said, 434 victims out of the total numbers of people kidnapped early this year in Ngoshe community by the Boko Haram terrorists have regained freedom, specifically stating that; "357 captives walked free in the latest coordinated effort, other captives had been released in phases over the preceding months, bringing the total number of freed captives to 434", this, we had reported that Youths in Borno State under the umbrella body of Borno South Youth Alliance, BOSYA has insisted that the Federal Government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu did nothing to secure the release of the 416 women and children held hostage by Boko Haram terrorists for more than 90 days they were taken into the bush since March 2026, also, the youth group dismissed and rejected the report of the Nigerian Army who had alleged that its men rescued 360 out of the 416 people held hostage through intelligent driven efforts, saying, they have an audio record of the conversation they had with the Boko Haram terrorists on Friday June 5th, 2026 before the Boko Haram terrorists decided to release the captives willingly, adding, "If they paid ransom, they should come out and tell Nigerians, which we have the full details if ransoms was paid or not, as Senator Ali Ndume automatically started thanking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is there something Nigerians Need to know that is Hidden", it maybe recalled that we have reported that barely a day after President Donald Trump of the United States of America, the USA announced the killing of Abu Bilal al-Minuki, the second in command of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, ISIS in a joint operation with Nigeria soldiers in Borno State, a new video of the abducted 416 women and children in Boko Haram captivity has been released in addition to a gory video earlier released by the terrorists wherein they beheaded almost six men who the insurgents said tried to escape among the kidnapped victims, this had led to public outcry and demonstrations, but according to Punch Newspaper, protesters are reportedly denied the rights to protest in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, saying, the Army reportedly deployed tanks and heavily armed personnel to Filling Polo, the venue of the recent planned protest, forcing the demonstrators to withdraw, quoting Samaila Kaigama, leader of the protesters, as saying; the atmosphere created by the military deployment made it impossible for citizens to continue with the demonstration, that the development is deeply disturbing in a constitutional democracy, it may also be recalled that we had reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria may have kept mute since more than 48 hours a faction of the Boko Haram terrorists showed off 416 people mostly women and children kidnapped and held hostage when the members of the Jama'atu Ahlis-Sunna Lidda'Awati Wal-Jihad, JAS, launched a large scale combat actions between 4th to 6th March 2026 against the men of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, AFN, overran the Africa country military base at Ngoshe, killing several soldiers, a figure the Nigeria authority disputed to be 14 after several reports indicated that more than 40 soldiers were killed during the attack, in addition to more than 100 civilians including Chief Iman of Ngoshe alongside the community elders killed during the coordinated attacks that lasted days at Ngoshe community in Gwoza local government area of Borno state, this, during the attacks, numbers of people were also taken hostage by the insurgents, with speculations indicating that the hostages are apparently being held at the rugged terrain of the Mandara Mountains, which sit wide across the Nigeria border with Cameroon, in the released video, one of the spokespersons of the Boko Haram group said they decided to release a proof of life video of the 416 women and children in their captivity, following the demands made #OsazuwaAkonedoBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/osazuwaakonedo--4980924/support.Kindly support us for more productivity and efficiency in news delivery.Visit our donation page: DonateYou can also use our Mobile app for more news in different formats: CLICK TO DOWNDLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY STORE
What happens when the newest users on your network aren't people at all? At Cisco Live, I sat down with Aruna Ravichandran, SVP and CMO for AI, Networking, and Collaboration at Cisco, to discuss a shift that could change how organizations think about networks, operations, and AI over the coming years. For decades, enterprise networks have been built around human behavior. People work predictable hours, take holidays, and generally follow familiar patterns. AI agents are different. They work continuously, analyze information around the clock, and increasingly act as digital teammates that can help organizations monitor, troubleshoot, and improve operations at a scale that would be impossible for humans alone. During our conversation, Aruna explained why AI is no longer just an application discussion. As organizations deploy more digital teammates, networks must support a new type of user that never sleeps, never stops learning, and can help identify issues before employees even arrive at work. We explore Cisco's vision for AgenticOps, the role of Cisco Cloud Control as a unified command center, and how AI-driven operations are helping reduce complexity for teams already overwhelmed by alerts, dashboards, and operational overhead. Aruna also shared her perspective on one of the biggest challenges facing the industry today: trust. While the technology is advancing rapidly, organizations need confidence that their digital teammates can make reliable recommendations and support critical operations without removing human oversight. That balance between automation and accountability sits at the heart of Cisco's approach. We also discuss why domain expertise still matters in the age of AI, how Cisco is drawing on decades of networking experience to build purpose-built models, and why the next few years may see every IT professional supported by an expanding team of digital coworkers. If you've been wondering how AI will move beyond chat interfaces and become part of everyday operations, this conversation offers an interesting look at where networking, automation, and AI are heading next. How many digital teammates do you think you'll be working alongside in the next few years, and what tasks would you trust them to handle first? Most AEC firms treat PR like a nice-to-have, something you think about after you've won the work. Julia Bonner, founder and president of Pierce Public Relations, has spent her career proving that's exactly backwards. In this conversation with Bryce, Julia gets into what strategic communications actually looks like for firms in the built environment and why the firms investing in their story now are the ones winning the work later. Pierce PR is a certified woman-owned boutique agency working with some of the most recognized names in AEC, Wold Architects and Engineers, ESa, Reeves Young, BELL Construction. Julia started her career in New York City with a master's degree from NYU, built a practice around the built environment, and has become one of Nashville's most recognized business leaders in the process. She's not talking about press releases and award submissions. She's talking about what it takes to build a brand that actually moves a business forward. This episode is for firm leaders who know their work speaks for itself and are starting to realize that might not be enough. About Julia Bonner: Julia Bonner is the founder and president of Pierce Public Relations, a certified woman-owned boutique PR and marketing agency specializing in the AEC and professional services industries. Her clients include Wold Architects and Engineers, ESa, Reeves Young, and BELL Construction. A Nashville-based leader, Julia holds an M.S. in Public Relations and Corporate Communication from NYU and a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Tennessee. She is a recipient of the Nashville Business Journal's Most Admired CEO Award (2024), Women of Influence Award (2020), and 40 Under 40 Award (2017), and has been named to the Nashville Post's "In Charge" list four consecutive years (2022-2025). Website: https://pierce-pr.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/juliaebonner/ What We Cover: Introduction and Julia's path from NYU and New York City to building Pierce PR in Nashville What PR and strategic communications actually means for AEC firms — beyond press releases and award submissions Why most firms in the built environment wait too long to invest in their brand What the best communicators in AEC do differently than everyone else How Julia has grown Pierce PR to represent some of the most recognized names in the industry What it means to run a woman-owned boutique agency in a historically male-dominated space Julia's community leadership — ULI Nashville, Young Leaders Council, Nashville Film Festival — and why she invests there What she's learned about leadership from building her own firm Where to find Pierce PR and what working with them looks like Key Takeaways: PR is not reactive — the firms using it strategically are building relationships and reputation before they ever need them Most AEC firms undersell themselves not because they lack good stories, but because they're too close to their own work to see what's remarkable about it A boutique agency in a specialized industry can outperform a generalist firm every time — because deep industry knowledge changes everything about how you tell the story Community investment isn't separate from business building — it's how the best leaders create lasting influence Running a woman-owned business in AEC requires both credibility and persistence in equal measure

They cover the story arc journalists want to see, how to pitch local media with no budget, why your quotes are probably too safe, and how to turn earned media into a tool for donor retention and staff morale.Practical, direct, and full of real examples. How To Write a Press Release for Your Startup Hello, this is Hall T. Martin with the Startup Funding Espresso -- your daily shot of startup funding and investing. Press releases can help the startup gain exposure in the marketplace. This helps recruit employees, find customers, and attract investors. Founders can do this upon closing a round of funding. Here are the steps to write a press release for your startup: Start with a compelling headline that motivates the audience to read further. Describe in the first paragraph the content you want every reader to have. In most cases, this will be all that they read. Create a standard paragraph explaining what the business does. This can be reused in future releases. Include quotes from the founder on the mission and values of the company. Add visuals such as photos of the team. Action pictures are more interesting than posed pictures. Add links to the website and other relevant information. Include enough information that a journalist can tie your press release to a current story. Finally, add your contact details and include the name and phone number of someone the reader can contact for more information. Thank you for joining us for the Startup Funding Espresso where we help startups and investors connect for funding. It also includes a substantial new sequence of poems, ‘Caesars', on the relation between art and power. Part 2 of this Prime Day series uncovers the AI, Rufus, retargeting, inventory, and deal strategies Amazon sellers may be overlooking before the big event. In part 2 of this two-part Prime Day strategy series, Shivali Patel and Carrie Miller bring together another lineup of Amazon, advertising, AI, logistics, and e-commerce experts to share what sellers should be doing before, during, and after major shopping events like Amazon Prime Day. This episode goes beyond basic discounting and looks at the bigger picture: retargeting high-intent shoppers, optimizing listings for both A9 and Rufus, improving product images, planning inventory, and using external traffic to create more sales opportunities. The conversation starts with PPC and listing optimization strategies with Vincenzo Toscano, including how to build Sponsored Display campaigns around shoppers who viewed your products but did not buy, analyze competitor reviews with Helium 10, and track share of voice to spot openings when competitors lose visibility. Andrew Bell also walks through Helium 10's AI Listing Optimizer, showing how sellers can use product images, buyer questions, keywords, and Rufus-focused prompts to create listings that are both searchable and conversion-friendly. This second installment also dives into overlooked growth channels outside of Amazon. Norm Farrar's strategy about how sellers should learn how Google Business Profile posts, offers, events, press releases, and deal communities can help drive traffic before, during, and after Prime Day. On the operations side, Burak Yolga explains why inventory check-in timing can make or break a sales event, and why sellers should think carefully about FBA placement, reimbursement audits, FBM backup listings, and omnichannel expansion. To close out this two-part series, more experts like, Anthony Cofranceso, Mansour Norouzi, Tomer Rabinovich, and Josh Hadley share more ways to make smarter decisions with data and AI, from Prime Day deal structures and post-event remarketing to variation research, customer reporting, hiring workflows, and Market Tracker 360. Whether you are preparing for Prime Day, launching new variations, improving your product detail page, or protecting profit margins, this episode shows how the right preparation can turn a short-term shopping event into long-term brand growth. In this episode, we sit down with Mady Lanni, Senior PR Strategist at Manychat — the social media automation platform powering those viral "comment to get the link" moments you see across Instagram and TikTok every day. Mady's path to PR wasn't linear (criminal justice degree, anyone?), and that outside perspective has shaped a refreshingly sharp, social-first approach to a field that's rapidly changing. She gets real about the slow death of traditional newsrooms and what it means for brands still relying on press releases, why journalists are migrating from X to LinkedIn and how to meet them there, how to move fast on reactive PR without sacrificing brand integrity, and why your most powerful spokespeople might not be your executives — they might be your creators. If you work in PR, marketing, or communications and want to understand where the industry is actually headed, this episode is your roadmap.Key Takeaways:// Social is where the news breaks first — follow it accordingly. Mady starts every morning in her social feed, not her inbox. Trending conversations happen on social before they hit anywhere else, and the PR pros who catch them earliest are the ones who get the reactive coverage. // Newsrooms are shrinking, and modern PR has to evolve with them. Traditional media outlets are downsizing. Journalists are building their own Substacks and newsletters. What "media" means is fundamentally shifting.// LinkedIn is the new Twitter for journalists. Mady sees a clear migration happening: journalists who used to live on X are moving to LinkedIn for connections, relationship-building, and DMs. // Always be able to answer "okay, and so what?" Before pitching any story, Mady asks herself whether the news genuinely matters to anyone outside the marketing team. If the only people excited about it are internal, it's a brand moment, not a PR moment. // Creators are replacing executives as the most credible spokespeople. Journalists and readers are craving authenticity, and polished executive quotes often fall flat. // Press releases are a tool, not a strategy. The future of PR is more creative, more relatable, and more human. Connect with Mady: LinkedIn____Join the MHH Collective! In this episode of Winners Find A Way, Trent Clark sits down with Mickie Kennedy, founder and president of eReleases, to break down why 97% of press releases fail — and what successful businesses do differently. Mickie shares how storytelling, earned media, and strategic PR can help small and mid-sized businesses stand out in today's noisy digital world. From building compelling headlines to using AI the right way, this conversation is packed with practical insights for entrepreneurs, authors, and business owners looking to build credibility and visibility through media. The episode also dives into Mickie's personal journey from poet and creative writer to building a nationally recognized PR company serving thousands of businesses. In This Episode Why most press releases never get picked up The difference between syndication vs earned media How journalists actually choose stories Why storytelling matters more than company announcements How to use AI effectively for press releases The power of surveys and industry data in PR Why great quotes can make or break media coverage How small businesses can compete for national attention Mickie's journey from poetry to entrepreneurship Key Takeaways Storytelling Wins The best PR campaigns focus on human stories, transformation, and emotion — not just product features. Earned Media Matters Real credibility comes from journalists writing about your business, not just publishing your release on random websites. AI Is a Tool — Not the Strategy AI can help structure and improve writing, but businesses still need strategic angles and compelling narratives. Industry Surveys Create Authority Creating and publishing original survey data is one of the fastest ways to become a thought leader in your industry. Great Quotes Increase Pickups Strong, memorable quotes help journalists build better stories and increase the likelihood your company gets featured. Memorable Quotes "Most press releases fail because they read like ads." — Mickie Kennedy "Stories sell. In Jim's hands today is a Press Release from the office of Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin. Senator Johnson is chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. Last Wednesday he held a hearing titled, "Unmasked: How Biden Health Officials Purposely Turned a Blind Eye Toward COVID-19 Vaccine Safety Signals." It's a hearing that drew little media attention. Along with this hearing, Senator Johnson released a report of approximately 600 pages of records that detailed how beginning in early 2021, FDA officials became aware of a new "state of the art" data mining method that could better detect statistically significant safety signals for adverse events associated with the COVID-19 shots. Rather than adopt this method, Biden health officials continued to employ their older data mining method with known limitations that prevented the FDA from detecting adverse events. Senator Johnson indicates that Peter Marks, head of the FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, was treating vaccine injuries that were life-threatening and people were pleading with the FDA and NIH to make this pubic, but never did so. Senator Johnson indicated, "We've got a real big problem in this country about vaccine-injury deniers." Again, these vaccine injuries are real, but it's being denied. While this hearing was far longer than a Crosstalk program, listen to Senator Johnson's opening remarks, Ranking Member Senator Blumenthal, the lead Democrat of the Committee, and the witnesses.

You know you need to show up on LinkedIn. You know your recruits are watching. You know your positioning matters. But there is a tension. You want to cast vision… Without sounding like a corporate press release. Because the moment your content feels scripted, polished, or generic, you lose people. In this episode of Recruiting Conversations, I give you a simple, repeatable framework to communicate vision in a way that feels human, grounded, and magnetic. Episode Breakdown [00:00] The Real Challenge Leaders know they need to communicate vision publicly. But most default to language that feels: Stiff Scripted Generic Corporate And that disconnect costs attention and trust. The 4-Part Framework for Non-Corporate Vision Content [01:20] 1. Start With a Personal Story Corporate language feels distant. Story feels human. Instead of starting with: At our organization, we are committed to excellence Start with something real: A conversation A mistake A lesson A moment with your team Story creates connection. [02:00] 2. Extract a Clear Belief After the story, define what you believe. Not what sounds polished. Not what your company says. What you believe as a leader. Example: I believe growth stalls when leaders stop casting a bigger picture Beliefs create differentiation. Corporate language creates sameness. [02:25] 3. Share a Simple Framework Vision becomes powerful when it becomes practical. Break it into 2 to 3 clear points. Example: Here is what I focus on when building a team that scales: Clarity of direction Consistency of standards Visible leadership Simple. Actionable. Memorable. [02:50] 4. End With an Invitation Do not pitch. Invite. Instead of: Reach out if you are interested Say: Curious how other leaders are thinking about this Or If you are building something bigger this year, I would love to connect This creates conversation, not pressure. [03:15] What This Looks Like in Real Life Start with a moment Share a belief Break it down simply Invite dialogue That is vision. And it does not feel corporate. [03:50] The Communication Shift Write like you speak. Short sentences Clear thoughts Direct language Avoid: Buzzwords Jargon Abstract phrases Talk like you are sitting across from another leader. [04:10] The Deeper Truth Most corporate language is not intentional. It is a cover for lack of clarity. When you are clear on: What you believe What you are building Your language becomes simple. And simple is powerful. Key Takeaways Story Creates Connection – Start with something real, not polished Belief Creates Differentiation – Say what you believe, not what sounds good Framework Creates Clarity – Break ideas into simple, actionable points Invitation Creates Engagement – Open the door instead of pushing Clarity Eliminates Corporate Tone – The clearer you are, the more human you sound Here is the shift. You stop trying to sound impressive. And you start trying to sound real. Because in 2026, the leaders who communicate vision clearly and consistently will attract the right people faster than those hiding behind safe language. Want Help Refining Your LinkedIn Messaging? If you want to build a content strategy that reflects your leadership voice and consistently attracts aligned recruits, let's work through it together. Simphonic Highlights “SIM – The Nerve Center of Operations in the Age of AI,” Revealing Hidden Drivers of Telecom Churn, Podcast, More than 40% of negative subscriber experiences never show up in traditional network-side metrics @Doug Green “Over 40% of negative subscriber experiences are completely invisible to traditional network metrics.” In a recent Technology Reseller News podcast, I spoke with Chris Drake, CEO of Simphonic, about a critical blind spot in how telecom operators measure subscriber experience—and why it's directly tied to churn. At the center of the discussion is new research by Chetan Sharma, CEO of Chetan Sharma Consulting, titled “SIM – The Nerve Center of Operations in the Age of AI,” which analyzed thousands of real-world mobile interactions across North America. The findings are clear: more than 40% of negative subscriber experiences never show up in traditional network-side metrics. Even more important, the majority of these undetected issues occur in the environments that matter most—at home and at work—where customers ultimately decide whether to stay with or leave their carrier. New research by Chetan Sharma, CEO of Chetan Sharma Consulting, titled “SIM – The Nerve Center of Operations in the Age of AI,” which analyzed thousands of real-world mobile interactions across North America. The findings: more than 40% of negative subscriber experiences never show up in traditional network-side metrics. Drake explained that traditional network monitoring tools focus on infrastructure performance—signal strength, latency, and uptime—but fail to capture the real-world user experience at the device level. This creates a disconnect where operators believe service is performing well, while customers are silently encountering problems. That gap is where churn begins. The report reframes the role of the SIM. No longer just an authentication tool, the SIM is emerging as a distributed intelligence layer—what the research describes as the “nerve center” of operations—capable of capturing device-side quality of experience (QoE) and delivering what the user actually experiences in real time. This SIM-based intelligence provides visibility into issues that network tools cannot detect, including application performance, indoor coverage challenges, and repeated service instability that erodes trust over time. For operators, the implication is significant. Network KPIs alone are no longer sufficient to understand or manage customer experience. To reduce churn and improve service quality, carriers must incorporate device-side intelligence that reflects lived experience, not just network intent. As Drake emphasized, this shift is not just about better analytics—it's about protecting revenue. Operators who fail to detect and address these hidden issues risk losing customers without ever understanding why. This episode breaks down how prediction markets are colliding with U.S. law as event‑based trading moves from niche forecasting tools to mainstream platforms handling billions in volume. I explain what prediction markets are, why regulators are increasingly alarmed, and how an escalating federal–state fight (plus new legislative and enforcement pressure) is setting up the next wave of high‑stakes litigation. Key Topics Covered: How prediction markets work: event contracts, probability pricing, and why supporters see them as powerful information‑aggregation tools. Why regulators get uneasy when contracts shift from commodities and macro indicators to human behavior, politics, war, and public‑health crises. The “death markets” debate, including controversial contracts tied to violence and ongoing emergencies—and how backlash can reshape platform policy and regulatory narratives. Federal–state preemption fights: the CFTC/DOJ push for exclusive federal authority under the Commodity Exchange Act versus state gambling‑law enforcement. Congressional efforts to close the perceived “back door” for sports‑ and casino‑style contracts offered through CFTC‑regulated event markets. The arrival of insider‑trading and manipulation enforcement in prediction markets—and why “novel contract” does not mean “regulatory free zone.” Emerging civil‑liability theories: platform negligence, fraud and misrepresentation claims, consumer‑protection suits, and reputational risk as litigation matures. Based on a review of court filings, agency statements, news reports, and scattered commentary, I discuss why prediction markets are becoming a litigation magnet—caught between federal commodities law, state gambling regimes, and growing concerns about market integrity and moral hazard. Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell continue their coverage of the Charity Beallis case with a look at what divorce court records say about her marriage and life with Dr. Randy Beallis. Charity was found dead by gunshot along with her 6–year-old twins just one day after her final divorce hearing on Dec. 3, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Based on the hearing transcript Mandy and Liz share their opinions about what was going on in Charity's relationship with Randy. Also on the show, Charity's lifelong best friend Kayla talks about who Charity was as a friend, a mom and a woman struggling in an allegedly controlling relationship — as well as Charity's surviving son's search for a legal team to help with his mom's investigation (and potentially pursue legal action). As the Sebastian County Sheriff's Office and prosecutor's office continue to operate in the dark, Charity's son, John Powell, is taking on the fight to get justice for his mother and his siblings. To help with John Powell's legal fees, go to staypes.ky/charitygofundme Let's Dive in…
Why did police in Arkansas lie about Charity Beallis' final divorce hearing in their latest press release in the case? After the Sebastian County Sheriffs Office released a strange statement indicating that Charity died by suicide and her 6-year-old twins died by homicide, investigative Journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell dug into the records to find out exactly what happened in that hearing hours before Charity and her children died. Sources say that Charity was shot twice on the evening of Dec. 2 in Bonanza, Arkansas. A new investigation reveals turmoil between the sheriff's office and Charity before the murders and connections that make us suspicious of corruption. While a police press release attempts to absolve Randy Beallis from the crime — which he has never been named a suspect of and says he was not responsible for the deaths of his family members — we still have questions. Let's Dive in…
