We continue our episode reviews of Voltron: Defender of the Universe with Episodes 25 – 28, where Marc and Author Dan Jolley make comparisons with Beast King GoLion. Marc starts by catching up with Dan as Dan tells us about his current comic books, novels, and video games he's writing. Dan is proud to announce some things he can actually talk about: For comic books, Dan co-wrote “LARP!” from Dark Horse Comics with Shawn deLoache. The first issue is available here: https://www.darkhorse.com/Books/24-368/LARP-Volume-1-TPB Dan is writing a 3-novel trilogy, all original, called The Gray Widow Trilogy. The first novel is called "Gray Widow's Walk", a grounded sci-fi horror story centering on an Atlanta-based female vigilante, which has just been accepted at Seventh Star Press and is planned as the first in a trilogy. Gunfire Games have hired Dan as lead writer to create a rich narrative that chronicles one hero's lifelong quest to save his homeland from an evil force. This unique adventure will allow players to explore a compelling fantasy world in full virtual reality with an incredible level of immersion and detail in an Oculus Rift VR environment game called Chronos. Happy 1st Anniversary to Let's Voltron: The Official Voltron Podcast! I am proud to share this review of everything that happened on the Let's Voltron Podcast from this past year, as well as some anniversary greetings that Voltron Fans left us on voicemail. As I went through recording this 35th podcast episode, it became very clear that I have a lot of people to thank for making this past year so special for all the Voltron Fans. So, I have to start by thanking the wonderful people at World Events Productions for carrying the Voltron torch these past 30 years, and for coming on the podcast to share the information that can only come from the home office in St. Louis. So, a very special thank you to Ted Koplar, Bob Koplar and Tiffany Ilardi. Extra thanks to Bob Koplar for helping me walk through all these podcast episodes. I really want to thank Jeremy Corray for helping get this podcast started in December 2013, and for his continued support as a resource and occasional co-host. I want to thank Michael French for making many episodes special with his expert commentary and for carrying the Blazing Sword as a great co-host. I have to thank Dan Jolley for being a great fan-favorite guest and a super co-host when we review the original Voltron episodes. Big thank you to Gregory Tyler for being a great Voltron Fan and for bringing a comprehensive look at Vehicle Team Voltron to the listeners of the podcast. Marc and Jeremy wish all Voltron Fans a very Merry Christmas! Marc talks about the response the Let's Voltron Podcast has received from Voltron Fans all over the world. This overwhelming response has placed the Let's Voltron Podcast at the top of the New and Noteworthy list on the iTunes store. One of the suggestions from fans was to have a transcript of each Podcast available on this notes page for the hearing impaired Voltron Fans. We are looking into a solution for this and will have it available when we have worked out all the details. Our RSS feed link is available (here) for people who listen on Podcast apps like PocketCast. Marc and Jeremy have a very in-depth conversation with Tommy Yune (@StudioYune on Twitter), who is the Creative Director for Harmony Gold, the home of Robotech. Tommy is the cover artist and writer for the Robotech/Voltron #1 Comic. Many behind-the-scenes details are revealed in this podcast, and Tommy, with Jeremy's permission, "blows the lid off" the second issue in the series, with information you won't hear anywhere else. Spoiler alert! Jeremy thanks fans for the years he has spent being the voice of Voltron as the Creative Director at WEP. He will be working as the VP of Digital Entertainment at Coolfire Studios (@coolfiremedia), starting in 2014. You can still enjoy Jeremy's sparkling wit and engaging personality on the Let's Voltron Podcast every week, as he takes on his new role of "Voltron Fan Ambassador": A New Coran for the Voltron Universe! The Robotech 20-Disc Complete Set is available here. Head out to your favorite comic book store, if you hadn't already pre-ordered, and get the Robotech/Voltron #1 Comic Book, starting Tuesday, December 24, 2013. A perfect stocking stuffer for the last-minute shopper, or for those of you who have been carefully planning this, knowing it would be released the day before Christmas.

Tommy Yune joined us for topics including the distributing deal with Fireworks, the solicitation of the Robotech RPG in Previews for December, and Palladium's new press release. After that came the usual random Robotech chat.

For this show, we were joined by Tom Bateman, Brand Coordinator at Harmony Gold and Script Editor for the Shadow Chronicles movie. The show followed the same format as the Tommy Yune interview: an hour or so of one-on-one question and answer time with me, followed by round-robin caller questions and then a Robotech roundtable with Tom and the show's regulars. A good time was had by all!

One of the most sought-after names in Robotech RPG circles, Dave Deitrich was the main driving force behind the Third Invid War Robotech RPG fan-supplement. Nowadays it is not uncommon to see posts on the Palladium Robotech RPG forum or other Robotech boards asking whatever became of him and whether he will ever do more work with the Third Invid War supplement. In the first hour of this five-hour talkcast, we interview him and get his take on the past of Robotech fandom. After that, Tommy Yune shows up, and we all have another hour and a half of conversation. Then he has to go, but old-school Robotech fans John Hokansen (from the old mailing list) and Ken Olson (from Robotech Research) join us for some more conversation. This is one of the best shows yet, and more are in the offing! (NOTE: There are scattered four-letter words in the later portions of this show.) Thanks to Robotech fan Wayne Joyce for saving this show!
