Today, on Karl and Crew, we wrapped up our weekly theme, "Under Pressure." We explored how pressure creates hope-filled people, and focused on Romans 5:1-5. Susie Larson joined us to talk about the hope God produces through suffering, explaining how endurance shapes character and how believers can actively fight painful memories with Scripture, gratitude, and the goodness of God. Susie is a well-known radio talk show host and podcaster of Susie Larson Live. Mike Tatlock joined us to talk about living with a compelling faith in a compromising culture, explaining how believers can hold to biblical truth without making agreements with false promises, while still responding to others with humility, compassion, and grace. Mike is the lead pastor at Grace Chapel church in Portland, Oregon, and is the author of “A Compelling Faith in a Comprising Culture.” We then opened up the phone lines to hear from our listeners. We posed the question, “What pressure did God free you from when you put your faith in God?” You can hear the highlights of today’s program on the Karl and Crew Showcast. Central Theme Praise and worship are not limited to church; they are a daily lifestyle that shifts one's spiritual atmosphere. Focus should be on what God is doing, not on negative or opposing forces. Power of Praise and Perspective Worship can be expressed through music, gratitude, and daily acknowledgment of God. Shifting focus from problems to God's work brings hope and encouragement. God is תמיד active and able to do new things regardless of age or circumstance. Main Scripture: Parable of the Sower (Luke 8) The “seed” represents the Word of God. The “soil” represents different heart conditions. There are four types of hearts: Hard heart: rejects the Word. Shallow heart: receives quickly but falls away under pressure. Crowded heart: distracted and choked by life's cares, riches, and pleasures. Good (fruitful) heart: receives, retains, and produces lasting fruit. Key Teaching: The Importance of Process God's will is not instant; it unfolds through a process. Spiritual growth requires patience and perseverance. Analogy: Like assembling furniture, skipping steps leads to problems. The Role of the Heart Spiritual outcomes depend on heart condition, not just hearing the Word. People respond differently to the same message بسبب their القلب. Faith does not automatically come; it depends on personal response. The Crowded Heart Distractions include: Worries (mental division and anxiety). Pursuit of wealth. Pleasures and comforts. These are not inherently wrong but become harmful when they overshadow God. Example: Solomon had everything yet found it unfulfilling. The Fruitful (Good) Heart Characteristics of a receptive heart: Receives and values the Word. Seeks understanding intentionally. Remains focused despite distractions. Produces results over time (30, 60, 100-fold). How to Cultivate a Receptive Heart Listen attentively: Be intentional and focused when hearing God's Word. Retain the Word: Reflect, meditate, and internalize it. Act on the Word: Apply it عمليًا to life. Stay persistent: Growth and results require patience. Warnings and Insights Information without application does not lead to transformation. Modern life creates “information overload,” reducing spiritual focus. Desire determines priority; people make time for what matters most. Final Encouragement Stay committed to the process. Keep trusting and applying God's Word. A fruitful life comes through perseverance and faithful response.

My newsletter: https://simonowens.substack.com/ For years, Hollywood writer Aaron Tracy built his career inside the traditional television system, writing for shows like Law & Order and navigating the endless cycle of pilots, canceled series, and development purgatory that defines much of the TV business. But over the last several years, Tracy has quietly carved out a very different kind of entertainment career: producing serialized audio dramas for platforms like Audible and iHeart. Along the way, he's worked with everyone from Aaron Paul to Lizzy Caplan to Glenn Powell, helping pioneer a form of storytelling that sits somewhere between television, audiobooks, and podcasting. In a recent interview, Tracy explained why audio dramas offer writers far more creative freedom than television, how he packages and sells narrative shows to platforms like Audible and iHeart, and the surprisingly lean production process behind large-scale audio series.

In this episode "Pressure Produces Precision”, it explores how pressure, while uncomfortable, can become the very thing that sharpens leaders for greater effectiveness and purpose. Dr. Walker teaches that pressure is not always punishment, but often preparation for the next level of responsibility and impact. This episode challenges listeners to embrace pressure as a refining tool that develops focus, discipline, and clarity, ultimately producing stronger leadership, wiser decisions, and greater intentionality in every area of life and leadership.
In week four of our ‘Wildfire' series, Pastor Dan Belshaw explores Acts 2:42–47 and the unmistakable fingerprints of God at work in the early church. As the Spirit moved in power, it produced a people marked by generosity, devotion, joy, and deep community. Dan unpacks how the work of God always produces the character of God, reminding us that transformation is formed through daily surrender and consistent rhythms centred on Jesus. This message challenges us to examine what is shaping our lives and encourages us to build lives that reflect the presence, power, and character of Christ.
Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. We are about to begin our next study in 1 day. So get your Hosea Scripture Journal now. Also, if you have listened all the way through 1 Corinthians with me, write your first name, city, and state below. We would love to celebrate and pray with you today. Our shout-out today goes to Shane Powell from Bellevue, WA. Thanks for your partnership in Project23. Our text today is 1 Corinthians 16:21-24. I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen. — 1 Corinthians 16:21-24 Paul takes the pen in his own hand and writes a few closing notes. "If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed." Sixteen chapters of correction come down to this: Do you love him? Not admire him. Not use him. Not align with him culturally. But truly love him. He is impling covenant love—all in allegiance of the heart. The dividing line in the church is not gifting, knowledge, or influence. It is devotion to and for Christ. You see, you can know doctrine. You can serve publicly. You can defend truth and still not love the Lord. Then he says, "Maranatha." Or "Our Lord, come." For those who love him, that is hope. For those who do not, it is exposure. So you can feel that Paul is still exposing them. And yet Paul ends with grace: "The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you." Grace that forgives. Grace that awakens love. Resurrection truth demands affection. Folks, doctrine must produce devotion. So the final question of 1 Corinthians is the same as the first. It is not, "Were you right?" It is, "Did you love the Lord?" DO THIS: Ask the Lord to expose coldness in your heart. Then take one concrete step this week to cultivate real affection for Christ—through prayer, worship, repentance, or obedience. ASK THIS: Would I welcome Christ's return today? Is my faith driven by love—or by habit? What is competing with my devotion to him? PRAY THIS: Lord Jesus, guard me from cold orthodoxy. Let my doctrine fuel devotion and my service flow from love. Come, Lord Jesus. Amen. PLAY THIS: "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing"

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Nigerian Muslim militias killed 9 Christians Over the past week, Muslim gunmen killed at least nine Christians in a spree of attacks across central Nigeria. Others were injured or abducted in the attacks. Fulani Ethnic Muslim Militias also destroyed nearly 100 acres of farmland. International Christian Concern stated, “Residents across affected areas are now reporting attacks on mining routes and farming communities, vital sources of income for many families. Local leaders are urgently calling for reinforced security deployments and thorough investigations into the escalating incidents.” Nigeria is ranked seventh on the Open Doors World Watch List of the most difficult countries in which to be a Christian. United Kingdom court rules in favor of 80-year-old pro-life activist A High Court judge in the United Kingdom ruled in favor of a pro-life activist last month. The case began in 2023 when David Skinner sent an email to public authorities in Dorset in South West England. The pro-lifer expressed his opposition to a new buffer zone law that restricted speech near abortion mills. He also included images of babies that had been killed in abortion. Authorities responded by charging Skinner under communications legislation. However, the recent ruling overturned that conviction. Eighty-year-old Skinner commented, “This prosecution should never have been brought. It has taken a heavy toll on me, but I hope this ruling will protect others who wish to speak out peacefully on matters of conscience without fear of being criminalized.” Proverbs 24:11 says, “Deliver those who are drawn toward death, and hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.” 75th anniversary of National Day of Prayer on May 7th Tomorrow, Thursday, May 7th, is the 75th anniversary of the National Day of Prayer in the United States. Christians are hosting tens of thousands of prayer events across the country. The day culminates in a prayer service broadcast from Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Many leaders are attending the event, including House Speaker Mike Johnson. Kathy Branzell, president of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, told CBN News about the theme of this year's event. Listen. BRANZELL: “Our theme this year is glorify God among the nations, seeking Him in all generations, in this 75th year and the 250th of America, even though to other nations, we might still seem like a baby. That's been a long 250 for us. But all glory to God before we get too puffed up in our patriotism and all of that we want to make sure we say, Thank You Lord, it is only by him shedding His grace on us.” The theme verse for the event is 1 Chronicles 16:24. It says, “Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.” Find a prayer event near you by typing in your zip code in the linked page. First religious charter school in America A Christian school in Tennessee received approval for what could become the first religious charter school in the U.S. Last week, the Jackson-Madison County School Board approved a charter school application from Union University, a private Christian college. A similar attempt to create the first religious charter school failed in Oklahoma. The case went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court last year. Weekly attendance at Southern Baptist Convention churches averages nearly 4.5 million people each week. That figure is up by over three percent compared to 2024. The number of baptisms also increased last year by five percent. Jeff Iorg, President and CEO of the SBC Executive Committee, said, “We are grateful Southern Baptists continue to show growth in key metrics like baptisms, worship attendance and Bible study participation.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, May 6th, in the year of our Lord 2026. This episode of Inspiration Nation brings the trio back together with humor, mishaps, and a powerful mindset shift. From smashed toes to shed-related injuries, the conversation quickly pivots to a thought-provoking quote from Brian Armstrong: “Action produces information. If you're unsure what to do, just do anything—even if it's the wrong thing.” The hosts explore how overthinking and “analysis paralysis” can hold us back, while taking even imperfect action builds momentum, clarity, and confidence. Through relatable stories—from struggling with spreadsheets to tackling big work projects—they highlight how progress often comes from just starting, not waiting for the perfect plan.At its core, this episode is about breaking inertia: keeping things simple, taking that first step, and trusting the process to unfold. Whether it's fitness goals, work challenges, or personal growth, the message is clear—doing something beats doing nothing every time. If you've ever felt stuck or overwhelmed, this conversation is your nudge to get moving.

Main Theme Knowing and doing God's will is essential for a fruitful Christian life. The key factor in discerning and living out God's will is the condition of your heart. Introduction Worship includes receiving God's Word. Series focus: finding/knowing God's will. Message title: “Your heart matters.” Physical heart illustration → emphasizes importance and function. Spiritual heart = intellect, will, emotions (the “real you”). Importance of the Heart The heart determines character and decisions. Types of unhealthy hearts: hardened, bitter, impure. Healthy heart = pure, good, pleasing to God. Spiritual heart health is as critical as physical heart health. Decisions and Destiny Humans make ~35,000 decisions daily. Decisions shape destiny. Process: thought → action → habit → character → destiny. Heart and thoughts are deeply connected (Proverbs principle). God's Will and Planning Planning is good, but must include God (James 4). Key idea: “If the Lord wills.” Approach: Make plans. Submit them to God. Allow God to adjust them. God's will is always better than human plans. How God Reveals His Will Primary way: through Scripture (revealed will). Other ways (secondary): Circumstances Dreams Open/closed doors Other believers/spiritual authority Prophetic words Warning: Don't seek external guidance without knowing God's Word. Revealed vs. Unrevealed Will Revealed will (explicit in Scripture): Salvation (2 Peter 3:9) Sanctification/holiness (1 Thessalonians 4:3) Doing good (1 Peter 2:15) Unrevealed will (personal decisions): Which church to attend Who to marry What ministry to pursue Principle: Obey revealed will to better discern unrevealed will. Warning from Jesus (Matthew 7) Not everyone who says “Lord, Lord” will enter heaven. True disciples: those who do God's will. Danger of: Superficial faith Empty words Right actions with wrong motives Emphasis: obedience + right heart. Parable of the Sower (Luke 8) Seed = Word of God. Four types of soil (hearts): Hard path → Word stolen (no understanding). Rocky soil → No root; falls away in trials. Thorny soil → Choked by cares, riches, pleasures. Good soil → Produces fruit abundantly. Key lesson: the issue is not the seed, but the soil (heart). The Condition of the Heart Heart determines response to God's Word. Good heart = noble, receptive, persevering. Scripture emphasis: Guard your heart (Proverbs 4:23). Heart produces actions and speech (Jesus' teaching). Human heart is naturally sinful (Jeremiah). Cultivating a Healthy Heart Requires intentional effort (like tending a garden). Weeds (sin, bitterness, etc.) grow naturally. Needed responses: Repentance Prayer (“Create in me a clean heart”) Ongoing self-examination Possible issues: unforgiveness, bitterness, sin. Illustration: Power of the Word God's Word is incorruptible and powerful. Like a seed that can remain dormant but still produce life. Effectiveness depends on the condition of the heart. Example: King Josiah Rediscovered God's Word. Responded with repentance and humility. God honored his tender heart. Model of proper response to God's Word. Conclusion / Call to Action “Your heart matters.” Choose to cultivate a tender, responsive heart. Respond to God with repentance and obedience. Prayer for transformation and receptivity to God's Word.

The Qur'an and Sunnah praise knowledge countless times. But have you ever asked, "Which knowledge? Any knowledge? Or something very specific?" And why does that knowledge, in particular, make a person worth listening to, worth following, worth trusting? In this episode, Ustadh Muhammad Tim Humble continues through the Ta'iyyah of Abu Ishaq al-Ilbiri - a poem written centuries ago, yet somehow speaking directly to the confusion of our time. The verse opens with something personal: "O Abu Bakr…" A man being called. A reminder being given. And what follows quietly dismantles a lot of what people assume about knowledge, status, and what it actually means to lead. Episode 806 covers Kraken’s direct access to Fed payment rails, the growing push toward tokenized stocks, the stalled progress of the U.S. Bitcoin reserve, the latest Trump meme coin pump, and why stablecoins may be becoming the true financial infrastructure story of crypto. They also dig into Bitcoin outperforming gold during wartime, how banks are trying to protect their turf as stablecoin legislation moves forward, and why the next phase of adoption may have less to do with hype and more to do with rails, regulation, and real-world use. It’s a fast-moving roundup of the biggest crypto stories of the week, with analysis, sarcasm, and a few detours only Bad Crypto could make work. Show notes at http://badco.in/806 Stay bad!
