Well, last week, we began a very important chapter in the book of Numbers, numbers, chapter 19, and we dealt with a very specific commandment. And that commandment had to do with what's called in Hebrew para aduma, which is that red heifer. And we learned that that red heifer has to be blameless. There cannot be any defect, or what the Bible calls a moon, which is a spot or blemish. If we're going to understand our study today, there are two different words that we need to define properly, and the two words are in Hebrew, Raa and tov. What is Toph? Tov is the Hebrew word good. And when this word appears in the Bible, whether we're speaking about the Old or New Testament, when that word good appears there, it has to do with the will of God. God's will is always good. Well, we are going to see that we're talking about redemption, and redemption requires an offering, and normally that offering is one of blood. Now what we're talking about here is redeeming of the firstborn, and we're speaking about the firstborn of both a human being and also animals. We have seen how God is always faithful. He always does the right thing, and what is best for everyone is the will of God. Unfortunately, King Shaul doesn't understand this. He wants to be committed to his ways instead of the way of God. First of all, there were 250 of them, and they were men of reputation. Some Bibles will say men of renown. Well, as I said, we are going to look at just one commandment in our Scripture. And I think it's so significant that in this chapter, chapter 15 of the book of Numbers, we see that the term number in Hebrew, or wilderness, in the case of the actual Hebrew word, midbar is the word for wilderness in the book of Numbers. Well, we're going to see that the children of Israel were certainly not faithful in the wilderness. Now, living in Israel, many times I share my faith with individuals, and they push back. That's fine. They're entitled to do that. That is their right. But one of the things that they say frequently is very problematic, and it shows a lack of awareness of the Word of God, because this is what frequently I hear, if Yeshua was truly the Messiah, do you think that our leaders, our people, would have rejected him? Well, we saw last week that Moses, he heard from God, and he took the children of Israel, and he knew the task that God had given to them, to take possession of the land. We are coming to a most interesting time within the book of Numbers, because the children of Israel, they have been in the wilderness for quite a period of time. And what do we see? We see that God wants to give them an incentive. He wants Moses to stand out spies. Now the spies that we're talking about are individuals who and don't miss this important point. Our God is always faithful. And what I mean by that is this God never chooses someone for a purpose and then sets that one up for failure.
