TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible on this 16th day of June, Day 167 in our journey through the Scriptures. I'm Hunter, your Bible reading coach, and today we open our hearts together as we read through First Kings chapters 17 to 19 and Colossians chapter 2. As we witness Elijah's dramatic confrontation on Mount Carmel and Paul's stirring reminder to hold fast to Christ, we'll reflect on what it means to listen for God's voice in a noisy world. Join us as we learn to be still, to receive, and to know that the God who answers is with us—calling us to trust, to abide, and to walk in His peace. Let's begin today's journey with open ears and expectant hearts. TODAY'S DEVOTION: God answers, but are we listening? The contest was to see which God would answer with fire. And today's reading shows us the results. Amidst all the rattle and hum and the fits and fury, they just couldn't conjure up the results that our hearts are calling for—the hope, the light, the peace, the victory that we were frankly made for. The writers made it clear: some gods do not answer, but there is a God who does. On top of Mount Carmel today, there is a monastery in the Carmelite order. One of the unique things about some of the communities of the Carmelite order is that they take a vow of silence. And maybe it's a fitting thought that there, on the top of Mount Carmel today, there are people who are in prayer and who are being silent. They're being silent not because there's nothing to hear or listen to. They're being silent for that very reason—because there is something to hear. There is a God. And our God speaks. He has an answer for our souls, an answer for the questions of our heart, an answer to our burden and our brokenness. There is a God who answers, and he doesn't require our fits and our fury. He doesn't need us to conjure up anything. Ours is to be still and know, to be still and listen to the God who's present, the one who's with us, the one who is victorious—the God who answers. The prayer of my own soul today is that I will learn to listen, that I'll learn to quiet my heart and trust. That I'll learn that he is here with me even now. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family. That's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible for June 15th. I'm Heather, and today marks day 166 in our journey through the Scriptures. Together, we'll explore First Kings 16, 2 Chronicles 15 and 16, and Colossians chapter 1—reminding ourselves that the Scriptures point us to Jesus, the source of our life. We'll seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to open our hearts, warm ourselves around the fire of God's love, and discover anew how Christ's victory makes us blameless and reconciled before God. Settle in as we read, reflect, and pray—joining believers from around the world in drawing closer to Christ and finding strength in His joy. TODAY'S DEVOTION: God has finally found what He's looking for. The Scriptures tell us, "The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him." We witness this searching again and again in the stories of the kings of Israel and Judah, kings like Asa, Baasha, and Omri. But even amongst all these leaders, God does not find what His heart desires. It isn't you. It isn't me. It isn't any of the kings or prophets. There is only one in whom the eyes of the Father rest—His Son. When the Father sees the Son, He says, "This is my Son, whom I love. With him I am well pleased." God finds in Jesus the fullness of what He's sought from the beginning. Here is the miracle and the message of the gospel: by God's grace, you are now found in the Son, and God finds in you what He is looking for. Through Christ's reconciling work on the cross, you now stand before God without fault—holy and blameless. Not by your own striving or record, but by the finished work and victorious life of Christ. The cross has accomplished more than we can even imagine. Paul tells us that Christ has reconciled all things; that God, in Christ, has brought you into His own presence. The life, the forgiveness, the joy, and the assurance you need—they are yours because your true life is now hidden with God in Christ. This is the secret: Christ lives in you. This is your assurance, your glory, your hope. So abide in Him today. Let this good news warm your heart, cast away your doubt, and fill you with the joy and peace He has won for you. God has found what He's looking for—in His Son, and by grace, in you. May you know this, rest in it, and let the life of Christ flourish in you, this day and always. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible for June 14th! On this 166th day of our journey through the Scriptures, Hunter invites us to spend some time together in God's Word, letting it guide our hearts to the living Word—Jesus. Today's readings take us through the dramatic reigns of kings in 1 Kings 15, 2 Chronicles 13 and 14, and the encouraging words of Philippians 4. We'll witness the stories of Abijah and Asa, kings who faced overwhelming odds yet found victory by trusting in God, and we'll receive a timely reminder from Philippians to pray instead of worry, fixing our minds on what is true and lovely. As we begin this day, may we remember that God is always with us—helping the powerless against the mighty—and that his peace will guard our hearts no matter our circumstances. Let's get started! TODAY'S DEVOTION: God helps the powerless against the mighty. In today's readings, we meet King Asa crying out to the Lord his God, knowing the odds were stacked high against him. Asa had learned something valuable from his father, Abijah. When Asa was just a boy, his father had faced the army of Israel with his forces outnumbered two to one. Eight hundred thousand troops from Israel stood against Abijah's four hundred thousand. But Abijah did not shrink back—he called on the name of the Lord, and God gave him victory. Now the story comes full circle. Asa, facing overwhelming odds—this time against a million-man Ethiopian army—remembers what his father knew. Asa does what his father did: he cries out to God. And once again, God hears and answers, delivering his people and defeating their enemies 15:13. The lesson is unmistakable. God faithfully helps the powerless against the mighty. Regardless of how dire the circumstances, even when you are outnumbered, when everything appears stacked against you, you are not called to fear, nor are you called to surrender. Instead, you are invited into trust. As we are reminded today in Philippians, we are not to worry about anything, but instead to pray about everything with thanksgiving and let God's peace guard our hearts and minds 16:18. This persistence in trust, this posture of prayer, and this experience of peace are the gifts of our God who fights for us. Let us remember well the lesson that Asa learned from his father and that the Scriptures impress upon us today: God is for us. He is with us. He is the God who helps the powerless against the mighty, who wins our victories and brings overwhelming triumph. That's my prayer for my own soul. That's the prayer I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's the prayer I have for you. Or is your focus on the past, trying to outrun or compensate for things done or left undone? It's easy to let our eyes rest on the wrong things and miss what God is doing for us right now: the peace, the strength, the joy we have in Him, right now. Paul calls us to something different. One Year Bible Podcast: Join Hunter and Heather Barnes on the Daily Radio Bible, a daily Bible‑in‑a‑year podcast with 20‑minute Scripture readings, Christ‑centered devotion, and guided prayer. This daily Bible reading and devotional invites you to live as a citizen of Jesus' kingdom, reconciled, renewed, and deeply loved. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible. It's June 12th, day 164 of our journey through the Scriptures. I'm Hunter, your Bible reading coach, here to walk with you through another day in God's word. Today's passages take us through the dramatic division of the kingdom in 1 Kings 12 and 2 Chronicles 10-11, where contrasting counsel leads to national upheaval and new beginnings. We'll also reflect on the powerful call to unity and humility found in Philippians 2—reminding us to hold firmly to the word of life and to let go of anything that brings despair or fear. After our reading, we'll be invited to prayer, gratitude, and reflection on God's love and promises, with reminders that we are forgiven, we are loved, and we belong to Him. So settle in, open your heart, and let's let the Scriptures point us to the living Word who brings life in abundance. TODAY'S DEVOTION: What words are you holding on to? Are they bringing you life today? Do they inspire hope and love, or do they stir up despair, anxiety, and self-protection? God invites you to hold firmly to the word of life—but for that to happen, you may need to let go of other words. Some words keep us captive and afraid, words spoken over us perhaps by someone we love, words that define or limit us. Maybe it's time you let go of those words—those words that have trapped you—because God has far better words for you. He wants you to reach out and receive words like "forgiven," "loved," "daughter," "son." The gospel—the good news of Christ—is the word we are to hold firmly to. We are invited to cling with all our might to his good word, which assures us that even though we are broken and bruised, and even though we have broken and bruised others, our champion, Jesus, has come to give us his word and his life. He speaks it over us to transform, heal, and restore us right here and right now. So what words are you holding on to? Hold firmly to the words of life. You are forgiven. You are loved. You are his daughter. You are his son. Let the other words go, and today, reach out to him—the only one who has the words of life. Hear, receive, and hold firmly to the gospel—the good news. Hold firmly to him. That's a prayer I have for my own soul. That's a prayer I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's a prayer I have for you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible for June 11th! Join Hunter as we journey through day 163 of our Bible reading plan, exploring the poetic depths of Song of Solomon chapters 5 through 8 and the heartfelt encouragements of Philippians chapter 1. Today's episode invites you into scripture, prayer, and reflection on God's faithfulness in the midst of life's struggles. Be reminded of Christ's transforming love, the strength found in joy, and the power of community—because no matter what you're facing, you are loved. Grab your Bible, settle in, and let's encounter God's Word together. TODAY'S DEVOTION: God meets us in the midst of our struggle. Life, as Paul writes, is filled with hardship, disappointments, and suffering. But the good news, the hope, is that God chooses to meet us exactly there—in the midst of it. Paul reminds us, "We are in this struggle together" 13:26. He doesn't gloss over his own trials or pretend that following Christ makes everything easy. Instead, he speaks of a God who faithfully continues his work in us, no matter our circumstances. You and I are not alone. God is with us, working within our lives, shaping our hearts, even when we can't see it or feel it. This presence, this assurance—God meeting us, encouraging us, loving us—transforms our lives. It enables us to live as citizens of heaven, right in the middle of our everyday challenges 14:13. Paul's confidence is rooted in this truth: "God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns" 14:22. In other words, the work is not up to us alone. God is both the author and the finisher. He started this journey in you, and he won't abandon it. It is his delight to complete what he began, no matter what life throws your way 14:44. This reality produces joy, even for Paul as he sits in prison. Joy rooted not in circumstances, but in Christ's presence within. "May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation, the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ" 15:11. Even now, God transforms us, produces his life in us, and fills us with a joy that cannot be taken away. So let God's Spirit meet you today, right where you are—amid struggle, disappointment, or hope. Let God's abiding presence in you be your joy and your strength. You are loved, in the midst of it. Christ is in you 15:46. That's my prayer—for my own soul, for my family, and for you. May we see and welcome this love, knowing God is actively at work in the midst of our lives. What does it mean to be “sent”? How was the Holy Spirit the one who sent Saul and Barnabas? In this episode, Emma Dotter unpacks what it means to be sent by the Holy Spirit and how we see this in the example of Saul and Barnabas as they embark on their first missionary journey in Acts 13:1-12. Then, Emma draws a connection between the passage and how we see the Holy Spirit send missionaries today, sharing about a missionary family from Watermark. // RELATED JOIN THE JOURNEY EPISODES: S4:268 Acts 12-14 (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/s4-268-acts-12-14/id1600151923?i=1000735847137) // WHAT IS JOIN THE JOURNEY? One Year Bible Podcast: Join Hunter and Heather Barnes on the Daily Radio Bible, a daily Bible‑in‑a‑year podcast with 20‑minute Scripture readings, Christ‑centered devotion, and guided prayer. This daily Bible reading and devotional invites you to live as a citizen of Jesus' kingdom, reconciled, renewed, and deeply loved. TODAY'S EPISODE: The conversation focused on guiding listeners through daily Bible readings, beginning with Song of Solomon chapters 1 through 4 and concluding with Ephesians chapter 6. A key theme that emerged was the enduring love and strength that comes from God, as reflected both in the poetic expressions of the Song of Solomon and in Paul's admonitions to the Ephesians. The discussion explored the spiritual armor provided by God and the call to prayer, love, and faithful living. Several points were raised, including encouragement to "be strong" by remembering one's identity as beloved by God, and an invitation to join in prayers for peace, mercy, and readiness to serve. The episode wrapped up with reminders of God's constant presence and love, encouraging listeners to carry this truth into their daily lives. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Be strong. Be loved. The strength that you need to resist the enemy's fiery attacks comes from God. It's not something you muster up on your own. All the armor—the helmet, the shield, the shoes, the sword, the breastplate—these are gifts, lovingly given by God himself. Each piece is handed to you not as a burden but as a grace, a protection, an act of love from the one who knows your battles and has already made provision for your victory. So put on that loving armor and be strong, not in your own might, but in the strength of God. Paul urges us to be strong, yet his final words remind us that it is only in being loved that we find that strength. Peace, love, and faithfulness flow from the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ to all who belong to him. So again, be strong—but understand that your strength comes by being beloved. How do we walk in this strength? By letting ourselves rest in the embrace of the eternal grace that is already ours. By wearing the armor he has given, not as a heavy weight, but as a daily reminder that you are shielded, protected, and cherished. The helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel, the shield of faith, the sword of the Spirit—all these are reminders of his unwavering love for you. You can be strong because you are loved. Let that truth sink deep—this is where your strength is rooted. Draw it up from the depths of God's abiding love, and let it sustain you in every challenge, every temptation, every moment of doubt. That's a prayer I have for my own soul. It's a prayer for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And it is my prayer for you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible, where we journey together through the scriptures one day at a time. On this June 9th episode, we find strength and hope in God's Word as Hunter, your Bible reading coach, leads us through readings from Ecclesiastes 10-12, Psalm 94, and Ephesians 5. Today's passages remind us of the sweetness of living in God's light, call us to wise and loving living, and invite us to anchor our days in thankfulness, humility, and faith. Gather with believers from around the world as we warm our hearts by the fire of God's love, pray together, and are reminded of the joy and strength we find in Christ—because above all, you are loved. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Children of light, that is what you are. The light is sweet. How pleasant to see a new day dawning. Ecclesiastes 11:7. And Paul wants us to know the sweet light of a new day that is found in Christ. His favor and kindness are there for us on this new day. And how sweet that is—a new day of hope, a new day of life. For once you were full of darkness, but now you have the light of the Lord. So live as people of the light. From our reading in Ephesians, if you want to taste the sweetness of this light, it's going to take careful determination. Verse 10 says, Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. We must be careful to put away the darkness of our past regrets, shame, resentments, and determine to apply the Gospel light to our heart each day. That light comes from the Lord. So let us come to Jesus each day, determining to participate and join in the life that is now ours in him. Through Christ we are able to find strength to vanquish the lies that are told about God, that He is distant and separate from us. No, the light of Christ reveals His presence and His nearness. The light of Christ reveals His embrace. In the light of His loving embrace, we are able to honor and prefer one another. We are able to submit to one another. We are able to lay down our lives for one another. When we do that, it will indeed be a sweet and hopeful day. The wise man of Ecclesiastes said, light is sweet. How pleasant to see a new day dawning. So taste the sweetness of the life we have in Christ. Determine to love others. Let the love of Christ vanquish the dark lies of separation and distance. And determine to love through the power of Christ, laying down your life in order to experience his life. That's a prayer that I have for my own soul. That's a prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to Daily Radio Bible! Today is June 8th, day 159 of our journey through the Scriptures. I'm Heather, and I'm so glad you're joining in as we come together from around the world to listen, reflect, and warm our hearts in the love of God. Today, we'll be reading Ecclesiastes chapters 7 through 9 and finishing with Ephesians chapter 4. As we explore these passages, we'll discover wisdom from Ecclesiastes about the complexities of life, death, and the search for meaning, and we'll hear Paul's encouraging words in Ephesians about unity, transformation, and living a life worthy of our calling. Stay with us as we ask the Holy Spirit to illuminate the Scriptures, draw us closer to Jesus, and equip us to live out our faith with love, kindness, and hope. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Work at it. God is not opposed to effort—he's only opposed to us trying to earn something. Our participation in God's kingdom, our work, is not an attempt to gain his favor or love. That's already been given to us, already assured, already accomplished in Christ. Our work, then, becomes a response—a living out of what we've been made: God's children, included in the life and love of Christ. We are invited to actively participate in Christ's ministry in the world. That invitation isn't only for pastors, teachers, or those who speak for a living. All of us are included. Ephesians tells us to "make every effort" to keep the unity of the Spirit, to let go of old patterns and attitudes that bring hopelessness, and instead put on new ways of thinking that bring life, hope, and a future. We are called to one glorious hope for the future. That takes intention, and it takes effort—a daily, practical working out of the gospel in our lives. We have to wake up our hearts, remind ourselves of Christ's sufficiency, and receive his grace for everything we face. This is the worthy kind of effort, the kind God honors. Jesus says, "For everyone who asks, receives; everyone who seeks, finds; and to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened." That means turning to him, seeking him, and trusting that the strength to do it all comes not from ourselves, but from the Spirit of Christ working in and through us. As the good news of Jesus continues to renew our hearts, minds, and attitudes, we begin to experience the glorious hope that is ours in him—today and in the days to come. That is my prayer for myself, for my family, and for you. May we each work at it, trusting in his Spirit and resting in his love. May his hope be yours today. Amen. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible, where we journey together through the scriptures each day, letting God's word warm our hearts and direct our lives. In today's episode for June 7th, we continue our reading with Ecclesiastes chapters 4 to 6, Psalm 18, and Ephesians chapter 3. We'll reflect on the frustrations and meaninglessness found in the pursuits of life without God, discover the steady refuge and strength offered in the Psalms, and meditate on the immeasurable love of Christ that grounds and empowers us. Join Hunter, your Bible reading coach, as he guides us through these passages, offers prayers for our day, and reminds each one of us that we are deeply and unconditionally loved. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Roots—if you want to grow, you have to have roots. Paul prays that you and I will sink our roots deep down into God's love. His love is where life and growth begin, and where it all continues from. His love is where we grow strong. Paul writes in Ephesians 3, "I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources, he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts. As you trust him, your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong." In other words, everything—our strength, our life, our growth—depends on these roots. Not roots in the soil of our own achievement or effort, but roots that are sunk deep into the unlimited love of Christ. But Paul doesn't stop there. He also says that he wants us to go on a journey into this love, to discover just how long, how wide, how high, and how deep his love really is. This love knows no bounds, it can't be fully measured, and yet we are invited to be forever drawn into its embrace. How are your roots? If you want to grow and have life and strength, you have to sink your roots into his love. Maybe today it's as simple as hearing the words, you are loved. Maybe there's something in your life—a wound, some shame, a regret—that whispers to you that those words aren't for you. But whatever mutes those words in your heart, I encourage you: Look into the face of Jesus and receive his love freely, without interference. Today you are loved. There is nothing that can separate you from the love of Christ; you have been drawn into his embrace. In him, you can be strong. Let the beauty of the gospel draw you further up and farther in, and find your strength in Him. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the June 6th episode of the Daily Radio Bible. Join Hunter, your Bible reading coach and brother, as he guides us through Ecclesiastes chapters 1–3, Psalm 45, and Ephesians 2. In today's episode, we wrestle with the profound questions of meaning, purpose, and hope presented in Ecclesiastes, contrasted with the message of unity, peace, and new life in Christ found in Ephesians. Hunter reflects on embracing God's gifts, finding joy in our daily lives, and the enduring power of prayer. Stay with us for encouragement, spiritual insight, and a reminder that you are not alone—and you are loved. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Meaningless, meaningless, cries the preacher. All is meaningless. Try as he might, he cannot make sense of his broken life. Nothing in the end seems to be right. All seems to be wrong. He cannot find a way to reconcile life's disparities. He has eternity in his heart, and yet the present is fraught with fractures. Nothing makes sense. That's the honest ache described in Ecclesiastes—a world where, under the sun, our best efforts seem to vanish like mist. Our wisdom, our toil, our striving—all end the same. There is frustration. There is longing for meaning. There is an ache for the eternal, yet an experience of only the temporary. But Paul, in Ephesians, cries out something different. You lived in this world without God and without hope. But now, he says, you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ. Christ himself has brought us peace through the cross. The good news has come to us. In Christ, no longer is life meaningless and hopeless. No, now we have life in him. When we are tempted to see the world through the lens of despair and hopelessness, we can look to the life of Jesus. We can look to his sacrifice. We can look to the love that has been poured out in order that we might be united with him in our hopelessness and despair. He has offered us his love. His love led him to a cross so he could free us from that despair and offer us life here, life now with eternal purposes and present joy. The preacher says everything is meaningless, completely meaningless. But Paul says he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. There is someone far greater than Solomon who is able to mend the human soul and make us new. He is even now making all things new. So let us step into the eternal purposes that he has for us so that we can begin to live, abide, rest, play, and have joy and strength in Him. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible on this fifth day of June! Join Hunter, your Bible-reading coach, as we journey through day 157 of our Bible-reading plan. Today's episode takes us into the wisdom of Proverbs 30 and 31, the praise-filled verses of Psalm 33, and the profound truths of Ephesians chapter 1. We'll reflect on God's promise to fill all things with Himself, hear prayers for daily renewal and unity, and be reminded of the power of gratitude and the steadfast love that is ours in Christ. Settle in as we spend these moments together in Scripture, reflection, and prayer. TODAY'S DEVOTION: He fills the empty places. How many of us move through life aware of the gaps — the places of lack, those missing pieces and broken edges that we try so hard to hide or to fix? There are days when we feel these open spaces more acutely, when the ache of "not enough" or "unfinished" makes us weary and worn out. And yet, in Ephesians 1 and throughout Paul's letters, we find this repeated promise: God, in Christ, has come to fill. He has come to restore and complete what is missing in us, to bring fullness where there is emptiness, wholeness where there is brokenness. Paul knows this longing. He knows the hole in the heart and the deep need to be filled. And he tells us — Christ is the one who brings us into union with God, making us whole and complete in himself, sharing with us the very life he shares with the Father, in the Spirit. God's intent is to fill all things with himself, to make all things new — and that includes you and me, our families, our tired souls, the broken bits, the unfinished stories. All of it. Our part is to wake up to this truth, to receive it, to allow ourselves to begin living in the reality of who we are in Christ. He is making all things new — all. His redemptive work touches even the places we think are too barren or lost. Let your heart be reminded today: when Christ says he fills all things, he means nothing is left out. Not the places you fear are beyond reach, not the wounds you keep hidden, not the everyday emptiness you feel. That's the prayer I have for my own soul: Lord, fill me—fill the gaps, the brokenness, the empty spaces. That's the prayer I hold for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's a prayer I carry for you. May we all receive the fullness Christ brings. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible for June 4th, day 156 in our journey through the Scriptures. Join Speaker A, your brother and Bible reading coach, as we spend time together in God's Word—today reading from Proverbs 28 and 29, Psalm 60, and Romans 16. In this episode, we'll reflect on the theme of God's strength made perfect in our weakness, the wisdom found in Proverbs, and Paul's encouragement to the church in Rome to embrace unity and remain faithful. We'll close with prayer, an invitation to rest in Christ's presence, and a reminder that you are deeply loved. Let's open our hearts and direct our focus to the One who gives life, hope, and peace. TODAY'S DEVOTION: He gives you strength for today. Do you need some good news? Here it is—you can be strong. God's people are being offered strength through Christ. At the end of Romans 16, we're told that all glory goes to the God who is able to make you strong. That's the message for the church, for Jews and Gentiles alike: there's strength for you, right now, in whatever situation you face. God's strength isn't confined to your best days—it's made perfect in your weakness. Paul, in 2 Corinthians 12, described how he repeatedly asked God to take away his weakness, the "thorn in the flesh." God's answer to him was clear: "My grace is sufficient for you. My power is made perfect in weakness." That is good news, because, like Paul, there are days when we just don't feel strong. Paul learned, over time, that he could actually boast in his weakness. Why? Because it was then—precisely when he didn't have it all together—that God's strength showed up most clearly. That's when he learned to rest in God. In those moments, he discovered a life that wasn't driven by striving, but by abiding. It wasn't about achieving, but about receiving. So, are you feeling weak, weary, or emptied out by the burdens of the day? Christ's abiding presence offers you real strength, right now. Take it by faith. Moment by moment, call on him, walk with him, and lean into his strength. Don't try to conjure it up on your own—just rest, abide, and let his power carry you. God is with you in whatever you're facing. He wants to meet you right there in your weakness. He wants to do something important in you and through you. You can be strong today—because Christ is in you. That's a prayer I have for my own soul. That's a prayer I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that is a prayer I have for you. Did God punish Herod too harshly in Acts 12? Was God fair to hold him accountable for something he didn't do? In this episode, Emma Dotter covers the death of Herod at the end of Acts 12, explaining why he was immediately struck down when people called him a god. She explores what this passage tells us about God's holiness, character, and perfect justice, as well as man's accountability for sin, and what it all means for us today. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible, where we journey together through the pages of Scripture each day. On this June 3rd episode, Hunter guides us through Proverbs 25-27 and Romans 15, reflecting on wisdom, patience, encouragement, and the centrality of Christ in the Christian life. As we read and pray together, we are reminded that the Bible points us not to itself, but to Jesus—the true living Word and source of hope. Join Hunter for insight, encouragement, and a time of prayer as we discover anew how grace takes the pressure off, and how God's love is the motivation for all we do. TODAY'S DEVOTION: The Scriptures teach us and give us hope and encouragement. It's easy for us, as followers of Christ, to misunderstand the role of the Bible in our lives. We can become so enamored with Scripture that we risk turning it into an end in itself, forgetting its primary purpose: to direct our hearts to the living Word, Jesus Christ. The Bible is not the Savior; Jesus is. And as Speaker A points out in Romans 15, "Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us, and the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises to be fulfilled." What is this hope? What is this encouragement that God is giving? Speaker A references back to Romans 14, where Paul reminds us that the kingdom of God is not about arguments over religious practice or culture—what we eat or drink, or even the observance of days—but about a life marked by goodness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. It's so easy to get lost in our religion and miss the point entirely: we can argue and hurt each other over differences, missing the heart of the gospel. The invitation of the kingdom is greater; it's about being transformed, healed, and empowered to serve and love—even our enemies. This kingdom life is about reflecting Christ to the world—a life of loving one another, of patience, of hope, of encouragement, of finding our identity not in religious observance or perfection, but in the abiding presence of God's Spirit within us. The fruit of this life is not fear, not anxiety, not striving to earn favor, but the freedom that comes from grace and the confidence that comes from being God's beloved. Let the Scriptures remind you and teach you that all of this—patience, hope, encouragement, peace—these are gifts from God. The Bible points us to Christ, the source of our courage and confidence. The kingdom is bigger than anything we imagine—a life richer than anything religious practice alone could provide. The best is yet to be revealed. That's a prayer for Speaker A's soul. It's the prayer for his family, his wife, his daughters, his son. And it's the prayer for you: May God give us, this day, hope and encouragement as we fix our eyes on the One who is the source, the One who invites us to live in the joy and freedom of his kingdom life. Amen. Are you ever surprised when God answers prayers? Should we pray even if we doubt God will answer? How do emotions play into doubt? In this episode, Emma Dotter explores how the early church was surprised by God answering their prayers for Peter to be freed from prison, how that applies to our prayer lives today, and how God doesn't rely on our emotional stability to answer prayers. // RELATED JOIN THE JOURNEY EPISODES: S4:268 Acts 12-14 (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/s4-268-acts-12-14/id1600151923?i=1000735847137) // WHAT IS JOIN THE JOURNEY? TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible! On this second day of June, join Hunter as we continue our journey through the Bible, focusing today on Proverbs 22-24 and Romans 14. Together, we explore timely wisdom from Proverbs and the Apostle Paul's call for a Christ-like attitude of love, unity, and harmony within the church. We'll reflect on how self-giving, forgiving, and co-suffering love can transform our lives and relationships. Along with thought-provoking readings, you'll be invited to join in prayer for our world, our families, and our own hearts as we seek to live out the peace and joy God offers. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Attitude is everything if you want to be strengthened and built up. If you want to see that for God's people too, then attitude is really important. Paul says, if you serve Christ with this attitude you will please God and others will approve of you too. So then let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up. What is this attitude? It's the attitude of Christ himself. Paul writes about this elsewhere in Philippians: don't look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others too. You must have this same attitude that Christ TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible! On this first day of June, we continue our journey through scripture, exploring Proverbs 19–21 and Romans 13. Join Hunter, your Bible reading coach, as he reflects on the wisdom of walking with integrity, the value of wise counsel, and the call to clothe ourselves in the presence of Christ. Together, we'll seek encouragement to live honorable lives, rooted in gratitude and strengthened by God's love. Let's open our hearts and let God's Word shape us for the day ahead. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Clothe yourself with the presence of Christ. That's the invitation the apostle Paul gives us—put on Christ as if you were putting on new clothes. The world can be dark and challenging, yet Paul tells us our shining armor is none other than Jesus himself. When we are wrapped in him, when we let his presence surround and cover us, we are able to love our neighbors as ourselves, to walk honorably, and to live the kind of life that shines as a light in the darkness. There really isn't any other way to live the Christian life but in him. "Christ in you, the hope of glory"—this is called a mystery, but it's the center of it all. As we step out into our day, it's not about our own strength or resolve; it's about dressing ourselves in his strong, peaceful, joyful presence. This presence is the source of everything we need for whatever the day might hold. His presence both covers and empowers us, embracing us, making us ready for whatever may come. Be ever mindful that as you walk through this day, you are not walking alone or uncovered. You are clothed in Christ, your armor against the darkness, your peace in the storm, your hope in uncertainty. Every breath you take is grace, every encounter you have is a chance to give what you yourself have received: mercy without measure, love that knows no end. Let's put on Christ today. Let's make his presence our home. That's the prayer I have for my own soul. That's the prayer I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's the prayer I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity.
