In order to cultivate the organic diversity that comes when making disciples of the nations, we must celebrate diversity within the church, listen when friction arises, keep the gospel at the center, and encourage mutual respect in the midst of differences.

Rev. Stone brings us a message about the Presbyterian form of church government as the Kirk becomes affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America. Acts 15 gives us a picture of Presbyterianism. Practical values of Presbyterianism include 1. help with divisive issues, 2. standards (gospel and doctrine). 3. accountability, and 4. encouragement.
Matt Chandler did not cover all the Scriptures but focused on certain verses in the passages laid out below. They also created a reading guide for the people through Acts for the upcoming messages. I think this would be a great way to get our people more into the heart of the text as well.

Religious intolerance, political tensions, adultery, homosexuality, divorce, child abuse, murder, rape, terrorism and intolerance for the name of Christ….can it get any worse? “There has never been a time like this in the history of Christianity”, some would say. Yet the Spirit of God birthed His church, He was poured out, did miracles, changed lives in a world very similar to our own world. Many are waiting for revival, looking for political change when the Spirit of God is very willing and ready to do a fresh work for those who are available to Him.
What we see in this passage today is that the apostles and the early church community refused to allow legalistic principles to water down or even deny the Gospel.
