Most people think the goal with mismatched libidos is making the lower-desire partner want more of the sex you've been having—or making the higher-desire partner want less. But that's not it. And it wouldn't work anyway. I walk through the actual goals when you're healing a desire gap. They boil down to maximizing sexual compatibility, emotional connection, and quality of communication, then deciding how to manage whatever gap, if any, is left over. This means focusing first on better quality sex, real emotional connection, and removing what's blocking desire. Then making clean decisions together. Plus, we'll talk about why magic bullets or quick fixes don't work, and what does. Did you know that in 2024/2025, 3.4 million solar panels were decommissioned? Did you also know that up to 99% of solar panel material is recyclable? In this episode, we welcome Darren Johannesen (https://smartenergy.org.au/our-team/), Executive General Manager of Sustainability at Smart Energy Council (https://smartenergy.org.au/). We discuss the recent success of Smart Energy Council's Solar PV Recycling and Products Stewardship Program (https://smartenergy.org.au/reuse-recycle/) as an example of urban mining and go on to examine how this could be rolled out on a national scale. The Solar PV Recycling and Products Stewardship Program is one working example of how a ‘circular economy model' would work. Darren however cautions that circular economy models are limited in light of the loss in energy and resources that are implicit with recycling. We at PGAP argue that this is all the more reason why a circular based economy must go hand in hand with a post-growth economic system. Finally, Darren shares his personal vision for a possible post-growth future and what it might look like. Co-host Michael Bayliss is joined by Mark Allen for the introduction and outro for this episode, where they reflect on this great initiative from Smart Energy Council. They also discuss the imperative for a planned degrowth transition in a world that is drowning under ever growing piles of aggregate consumer waste. Mark and Michael also discuss some recent developments and current affairs as ‘post-growth' and ‘collapse' enters mainstream discourse. Did you enjoy this episode? Across the next two episodes of PGAP, we will be showcasing the good work from CASSE NSW Inc (https://www.casse-nsw.org.au/)., who are advocating for the steady state economy in Australia. For this episode, we interview Phil Jones, Treasurer and Secretary, as he shares with us the progress of government reports and inquiries into the Circular Economy. Furthermore, why it is crucial that we encourage the government to take serious action in implementing the circular economy, rather than letting their reports gather dust in Canberra. We discuss two reports in particular: The Circular Economy Ministerial Advisory Group (https://www.dcceew.gov.au/environment/protection/circular-economy/ministerial-advisory-group), established in 2023, and: The Productivity Commission “Opportunities in the Circular Economy (https://www.pc.gov.au/inquiries/current/circular-economy/interim)” interim report The circular economy is defined by Wikipepdia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circular_economy#Critiques_of_circular_economy_models) as: “a model of resource production and consumption in any economy that involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing, and recycling existing materials and products for as long as possible.” Phil is positive with the potential for the rollout of the circular economy in Australia, especially in its capacity to catalyse existing initiatives such as recycling programs, repair cafes, second hand exchange initiatives, etc. However, he cautions that the circular economy is alone insufficient in achieving true sustainability unless it is coupled with the Steady State Economy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steady-state_economy). That is, "an economy made up of a constant stock of physical wealth (capital) and a constant population size, which does grow over the course of time". The episode concludes with a call to action to get some real and action in response to these reports. A good place to start is by signing the CASSE NSW INC petition (https://www.casse-nsw.org.au/post/casse-nsw-s-petition-to-parliament) to establish a Federal government inquiry into the steady state economy. In 2020, the Almeda Fire ripped through Jackson County. The catastrophic blaze destroyed more than 2,600 homes in Phoenix, Talent, Ashland and Medford. The “Think Out Loud” team traveled to Southern Oregon recently and talked to residents about how they're thinking about fire in their communities now. In Ashland, the city and the forest are tied together. The watershed, which provides the source of Ashland's drinking water, is more than 15,000 acres of potentially combustible forestland. Chris Chambers is the city’s forestry officer. He’s been a member of Ashland Fire And Rescue since 2002 and has worked on the city’s wildfire planning efforts. Along with city, federal and tribal partners, the Ashland-based Lomakatsi Restoration Project focuses on ecological resilience in Oregon and Northern California. Its restoration projects are spread throughout the region. Marko Bey is the executive director and founder of the organization. Belinda Brown is the tribal partnerships director. We hear how Chambers, Bey and Brown are thinking about wildfire resilience and how they approach their work in their communities.

Ep #306: Life is full of choices. You choose what to do. You choose how to react. You choose how to respond. You choose what to do with your time. Sobriety does not promise anything other than an opportunity to better your life without the weight of a hangover, daily addictive behaviors, and the constant rationalizing of your actions as being okay even though you know they are not okay. You can say, "I can't," all you want, and that is still not going to change the fact that bills are due, people are relying on you, and your life is literally happening right before your very eyes - every single second of the day. You make choices, you make decisions, and you either take action or you stand still and deliberate - and while there is an optimal time for reflection and deliberation, at some point, you must take a step, you must take action. Often, any action is better than no action because, without action, you do not get an outcome that gives you a hint at whether you are going in a desirable direction or not. You choose. Every day, you choose what your life will be and become, and no one can take these actions for you. Nobody can lift the weights, eat healthier, or do the work for you, and you get the rewards. The life you desire will come off the metaphorical and often very real sweat off your brow. Choose wisely - it's only your life we're talking about here. Just hit play, and let's dive in with open minds and hearts—you are in the right place, at the right time—right now. ******************************************** PLEASE SUBSCRIBE, FOLLOW, RATE, AND REVIEW my show on your preferred streaming app. Every little bit helps this show reach those who need it most. ******************************************** Please support the show (I'm a one-man band over here) Free ebooks and links for coaching and the like: https://stan.store/jessemogle Buy me a coffee to keep me going: http://buymeacoffee.com/jessemogle Support me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/jessemogle ******************************************** Website: https://www.jessemogle.com Please email me: fromsobrietytorecovery@gmail.com ******************************************** Complimentary 30-minute call with me: callcoachjesse.com Tik Tok: http://www.tiktok.com/@jessemogle Instagram: https://instagram.com/fromsobrietytorecovery LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jessemogle/ From Sobriety to Recovery Podcast: https://www.jessemogle.comfromsobrietytorecovery/ College Success Habits Podcast: https://www.jessemogle.com/collegesuccesshabitspodcast/ ******************************************** Join the From Sobriety to Recovery Tribe: https://www.jessemogle.com/thehub/ ******************************************** It is time. On today's episode of the Zero Blitz podcast, Jason Fitz is joined by NFL writer Frank Schwab and senior reporter Jori Epstein as they make nine picks for players who they think need to have a bounce-back year in 2024.While there might be a couple of obvious choices, including Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson and Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts, there are a few names that lead to debate on if they actually are capable of having a good season or if their better days are behind them.Fitz, Frank and Jori also discuss Jayden Daniels working hard behind the scenes at Washington Commanders camp and the work ethic that he's displaying that the coaching staff hopes will rub off on the rest of the team. In its quest to combat inflation the Federal Reserve has seemingly done everything in its power to engineer a recession, which would throw millions of people out of work. Rather than question the Fed's actions, mainstream economists cheered them on, claiming that we need multiple months of high unemployment to bring inflation down. But do we really need to immiserate America's working class in order to save the economy? Today's guest, Arnab Datta, and his colleagues at Employ America are producing research that suggests we should instead be using macroeconomic policies to steer the economy to high employment and robust wage growth—which would reduce inequity, spur economic development, and expand the availability of good-paying jobs for all Americans. Arnab Datta serves as the Senior Counsel for Employ America, which is an organization focused on economic policy research and advocacy that prioritizes full employment, wage growth, and economic stability. Employ America seeks to influence economic policy discussions and shape the narrative around employment and economic well-being.
