‘80s metal luminaries The Rods are back with Wild Dogs Unchained, a new album that combines reimagined classics from their past with masterfully crafted new songs.Hooks, grooves, crafty, formidable, and rebellious are songwriting attributes that The Rods gladly embrace. On Wild Dogs Unchained, the veteran power trio continues their famed aural assault with songs like “Eyes of a Dreamer” and “Tears for the Innocent,” revealing heretofore unrealized musical melodicism, while re-tooled classics, “Hurricane” and “Wild Dogs Unchained,” percolate with renewed vigor. On Wild Dogs Unchained, the playing is harder, the grooving is heavier, and the singing more soulful than ever before. David “Rock” Feinstein (guitar/vocals), Freddy Villano (bass), and Carl Canedy (drums) have crafted a definitive Rods album aimed at pleasing die-hard fans and new audiences alike. Once again mixed and mastered by Chris Collier, Wild Dogs Unchained flexes considerable musical muscle and builds upon the ironclad sonic template that these three musicians have forged over recent years. Not content to rest on their laurels or their legacy, The Rods are getting tighter, more nuanced, and perhaps even more bludgeoning with age. As Derric Miller at hardrockhaven.net said, “The Rods just pummel you. There's an insane energy coming from this band.”TRACK BY TRACK: EYES OF A DREAMER, David FeinsteinThis song is about people wanting to fulfill their dreams; never to worry how big your dreams are, or how hard it may be to achieve them. Even through tough times, be persistent and continue with determination to make your dreams in life reality. ROCK AND ROLL FEVER, David FeinsteinThis song is about musicians who are strong-willed and live for their music. Music to these individuals, as well as fans, becomes like a drug to them. It's an addiction. It makes you feel good making the music and listening to the music. It makes the fans feel good, as well as the performers playing the music. Everybody's got the “fever.” MIRROR MIRROR, David FeinsteinThis song is about looking at yourself. What do you think of yourself? What kind of person do you think you are? What kind of person should you be? Look in the mirror, “Are you evil or divine?” TEARS FOR THE INNOCENT, David FeinsteinThis song is about senseless war, and the innocent people that die because of it. We cry for those innocent people and feel sorry for what they have lost. Their homes, their land, their lives. WILD DOGS UNCHAINED David FeinsteinCarl Canedy is the writer of this particular song, but I think I can speak for him in saying that this song is about fighting to be free. It pertains to all people. Fight for your freedom. TIME TO ROCK, David FeinsteinFor a rock musician, it is always “Time to Rock.” It's anticipating an event or concert that you will be playing at. The excitement, the lights, the electrify in the air. It's always a rush when it's “Time to Rock.” RUN RUN RUN, David FeinsteinThis song is about being free. Casting your fate to the wind. More like a biker anthem. A feeling that I think most of us would like to feel sometime. To know the feeling of what it's like to really be free. WORLD ON FIRE, David FeinsteinInspired by the state that our world is in right now. Wars, hunger, homelessness. It's about having faith that our world will get better and asking, “What can we do to help make that happen?” MAKE ME A BELIEVER, David FeinsteinThis song is about perseverance. No matter how hard things get in life, to stand up and do what is needed to make things better. To be a believer and to always fight for what is right. HURRICANE, David FeinsteinThis song is about a car called “Hurricane” owned by an eager person who is possessed with the idea that his car is the best, fastest car on the street. “Hurricane” is always ready for a challenge.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-adventures-of-pipeman--941822/support.Click Here to Subscribe for PERKS, BONUS Content & FREE GIVEWAYS!Follow @pipemanradio on all socials & Pipeman Radio Requests & Info at www.linktr.ee/pipemanradioStream The Adventures of Pipeman daily & live Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays at 1PM ET on W4CY Radio & Talk 4 TV. Men, we are in a fight. The world is trying to strip us of our faith, silence our voices, and make us conform. But the truth is this: Christ has already won. From the 20th Sunday in OT, Fr. Dom shares his recent experiences on pilgrimage, ministry, and the frontlines of the faith. You'll hear about the authentic pilgrimage through Italy walking in the footsteps of St. Francis and St. Clare, the power of worshipping with 1.1 million young Catholics at a youth rally with the Holy Father, and the profound gift of the Holy Mass, our greatest weapon in the battle for souls. This isn't about comfort. It's about sacrifice, endurance, and courage. It's about laying your very self on the altar of sacrifice every single Mass. That is where strength is forged. That is how we set the world on fire for Christ. If you're tired of being silent. If you're tired of compromise. If you're ready to fight for your family, your Church, and your soul, this homily will equip you with clarity, conviction, and challenge.3 Powerful Quotes from the Episode:“Every Mass we go to is Calvary in a supernatural way.”“Stand up for the truth, we will be persecuted sometimes. But what a gift—God says that's a gift.”“You're so focused on the offertory and putting everything on the altar, because it's going to be radiated in a supernatural way the Church teaches.”Key Takeaway for Men: At every Mass, lay your very self—your struggles, your family, your sins, and your victories—on the altar of sacrifice. This is not optional. This is how men become holy, strong, and prepared to fight.Send us a text Support the showPlease prayerfully consider supporting the podcast on our Buy Me A Coffee page. to help grow the show to reach as many men as possible! When the world feels like it's burning, some people retreat. Mandana Dayani builds. In this episode, Danielle sits down with the powerhouse behind I Am A Voter and Archewell, attorney, entrepreneur, and activist Mandana Dayani—a woman whose story spans war zones, boardrooms, and the front lines of cultural change. From escaping post-revolution Iran to advising the White House, launching viral civic movements, and leading Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's media and philanthropic company Archwell, Mandana shares the moments that shaped her and the values that keep her grounded, outspoken, and unshakably hopeful. Mandana shares: The childhood escape from Iran that shaped everything The guilt that became her fuel Why she left a “perfect” persona behind to tell the truth What it really took to launch I Am A Voter + why she'll never stop The heartbreak of October 7th and what it revealed about her community How she built Our Campus United and The OCU Chronicle in response to rising antisemitism Why integrity is her personal compass and the question she asks herself every night Her experience working with Meghan & Harry—and what storytelling means at scale The power of reinvention, especially when you're already at the top And why she believes optimism isn't naive—it's necessary Follow Mandana on Instagram @mandanadayaniBook Recommendation: The Way of Integrity by Martha Beck. “How can we regain the ability to form Christian disciples who will actually be guided by Jesus, instead of politics or economics or the fashionable? Can we infuse those in our congregations with such courage, that they will be able stand for what is right and true and virtuous - even if it means losing what have been long-lasting relationships; even if it means losing status or favor with others? Why aren't Christians leading the way when it comes to honesty…integrity…love…and truth?” (See Luke 12:49-55)

Homily given at St. Thomas à Becket on the 20th Sunday in Ordinary Time (August 17, 2025).
When our political thinking does not align with the gospel, we must challenge our political thinking.
Preaching for the 20th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Katie Davis-Crowder reflects on what it means to "go set the world on fire" today: "Looking around in 2025, many of us are struggling with how to be hope-filled truth-tellers in the face of profound human suffering and sin. We are witnesses today to the same rejection of covenant values about which Jeremiah warned Israel, the same rejection of God's love and justice for which Jesus gave his life...“Go set the world on fire” enables us to hold on to the hope of the Resurrection without denying the darkness of this Good Friday era in our country and world. Katie Davis-Crowder holds a Master of Divinity from Loyola University Chicago and has worked as a high school campus and youth minister and theology teacher in Chicago for 15 years. passions lay at the intersections of spirituality, social justice, and the arts. Send us a textIn a time when the world feels like it's spinning faster and more chaotically than ever, many are silently carrying a deep, unrelenting exhaustion. Constant alerts of violence, political unrest, climate crisis, and collective grief are not just affecting our minds — they are infiltrating our bodies. In this soul-grounding episode, host Andrea Atherton sits down with somatic specialist and nervous system educator Gustavo Gil to explore why so many of us struggle to feel safe, calm, or connected, even when we're doing “all the right things.” This is not about weakness — it's about biology. And understanding how your nervous system reacts to global dysregulation is the first step toward reclaiming your power.Together, Andrea and Gustavo unpack the hidden toll of high-functioning survival, the emotional loops that trap us in cycles of self-doubt and hypervigilance, and how early trauma adaptations are being reactivated by today's unrelenting stimuli. Through personal, professional, and practical wisdom, they reveal that you can't out-think your way to peace — you must feel your way there. This episode offers more than insight; it offers embodiment tools and real-time practices to restore your capacity to respond, rather than react, to life's overwhelm. From titration to somatic resourcing, you'll learn how to ground yourself in a body that remembers safety. If you've felt numb, flooded, shut down, or like you're carrying the weight of the world in your chest, this conversation is your exhale. You are not broken; you are responding to a dysregulated world with a brilliantly adaptive system. Join us as we explore how regulation becomes not just personal healing, but a revolutionary act of love that allows collective transformation.
This is the finale episode of season 8! What a season it's been. I thank you all for your continuous support of the podcast! I thought about all the ways in which I wanted to end the season. But to be honest, there was no other way I wanted or could end this season other than with todays episode. Our collective, worldly, planetary grief is at an all time high and we are feeling it. The grief, violence, atrocities and genocide we are witnessing against the people of Palestine is horror beyond comprehension. We must and can use our voices, for our fellow grievers.I'll let the episode do the talking because I said all I had to in there. There will be people who will vehemently disagree with what I say and brand me as something I'm not. But, I'm completely okay with that. “China is surpassing American strength, whether it be naval forces or nuclear forces,” says retired U.S. Army Col. John Mills. His four-decade career has spanned key roles from the Cold War era to the War on Terror. At the Department of Defense, he directed cybersecurity policy.“I was brought into cyber in 2007 when the threat really was Russian cyber adventurism, but by 2012, from that point onward, it was all China—wasn't even close,” he says. “For every dollar Russia spent on misadventure, China spent 20.”In this episode, we dive into the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) influence globally and how it has created what Mills calls a “world on fire.”“All the playing pieces are kind of in place for [CCP leader Xi Jinping] to make his move around the world, to establish China as the dominant nation state, and everything else, all other nations, would be tributary vassal states, including the U.S.,” Mills says.“They are absolutely advancing a relentless onslaught of information warfare, through their media, through their wolf warriors, to advance a Chinese communist message that just drowns out everything else.”Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.
Jeff Stanfield and Andy Shaver sit down to share their opinions on some of today's major headlines. They give their takes on the Trump administration's handling of the Epstein list, key points from the “Big Beautiful Bill,” and the growing possibility of another aid package for Ukraine. From climate panic to political cover-ups, this two-part exposé pulls back the curtain on today's manufactured narratives and devastating truths. First, Tara critiques the media's relentless heatwave hysteria, contrasting it with ignored record-setting cold snaps and polar ice gains. She challenges the climate change agenda's selective reporting and explains how solar cycles, not CO₂, drive weather extremes. Then, in a heartbreaking deep dive, Tara exposes the Biden administration's mishandling of over 300,000 missing migrant children—many of whom were trafficked into slavery and abuse. With revelations from whistleblowers, RFK Jr., and DHS, she lays bare a system that abandoned identification safeguards and enabled mass exploitation. Combined with escalating tensions in Iran and global instability, the message is clear: we are living through a crisis of truth, morality, and leadership.
What if nervous system regulation has become a new form of spiritual bypass? In these intense times, are we calming ourselves to cope or to avoid? In this episode, Amisha Tala Oak returns with a deeply honest and timely solo reflection, asking what presence, care, and connection really mean in an era of collapse, disinformation, and genocide. Through story, poetry, spiritual insight, and AI, she explores how the language of “boundaries,” “regulation,” and “manifestation” can unintentionally isolate us, cutting us off from grief, from each other, and from the living world. This episode is a call to move beyond hyper-individualism and bypass culture, to reclaim a slow, grounded rhythm that expands our capacity to feel, to stay, to co-regulate, and to be of service. In this episode, Amisha speaks to: :: The deep grief and quiet beauty of this moment in history :: How “boundaries,” “regulation,” and “positivity” can sometimes cut us off from real connection :: Why nervous systems, activism, and joy must be woven together :: Dismantling the myths of New Age individualism :: Remembering our capacity to care, co-regulate, and be part of a living world :: And the power of a slow, unwavering rhythm, one that holds us through the long dark Links from this episode and more on allthatweare.org This episode also shares the launch of The Rhythm: a new weekly space of presence, practice and steadiness through these times. WORLD ON FIRE is a short episode about how the collective manifestation of the current riots and wars is the expression of millions of individuals' unhealed traumas. God didn't show up to make everybody speak the same language. God showed up so we could understand one another across our differences. That's not a return to uniformity. That's a celebration of diversity. That's a vision of the reign of God where every clan and nation and tongue can come to the table as themselves, not as carbon copies of whoever got there first. And, let's be honest, we know how badly a little diversity triggers some folks in our country. We've seen what happens when people start talking about making room at the table for voices that have historically been excluded, for perspectives that challenge the comfortable assumptions of those who've always held power. What does it mean to stand with Palestine in a world on fire?In this special live episode, recorded at Reference Point in London, Benjamin Ashraf of The New Arab chairs a powerful conversation with historian Ilan Pappé, scholar Katherine Natanel, and legal academic Nadine El-Enany. Together, they explore the urgent connections between the movement for justice in Palestine and global liberation struggles. As Ghassan Kanafani once wrote, Palestine is “a cause for every revolutionary.” Nineteen months into a "livestreamed" genocide, with millions mobilising worldwide, that truth has never felt more immediate. The discussion draws on the new book Palestine in a World on Fire (Haymarket, 2024)—a collection of interviews with leading thinkers and activists including Angela Y. Davis, Paul Gilroy, Judith Butler, Noam Chomsky, and others—offering reflections on how to sustain and deepen international solidarity.Tune in as we return to and expand these conversations in the context of the current moment. You can purchase a copy of Palestine in a World on Fire from the Haymarket Books website. Today, I'd like to share with you a conversation I just had last week, in New York, on stage at the WITS Summit, the largest gathering of women travel creators organized by the Wanderful community and its CEO, Beth Santos.I attended WITS to moderate a panel called Travel, Power, and the Role of Creators in the World on Fire. With my brilliant co-panelists Janine Jervis, communications director for Visit Jordan, and Dr Anu Taranath, University of Washington faculty member, educator, and consultant on human rights, race, and privilege, we spent an electrified 30 minutes channeling the pain, grief, and frustration so many feel.In front of 600 people, I delivered a message that has been in my heart for the last few years. This is the message I want to share with you today.I want to apologize to you for the quality of this recording. It's not the greatest, and normally, I would not share it. But I thought the conversation was just too important, and so it finds its way to you in this form. Home insurance is one of those things you need to have and hope to never need. But as risk from climate disasters increases, many homeowners are finding it more and more difficult to obtain an affordable policy. This is especially true in the American West, where wildfires are creating more uncertainty than insurance companies are willing to cover, forcing many homeowners to enroll in state-run insurance plans. Daniel and Alison sit down with Dr. Lisa Dale, director of the Climate and Society Masters program at the Columbia Climate School, for a conversation about how policymakers can help communities navigate the insurance crisis as it relates to wildfires. In this episode of the Disaster Tough Podcast, John catches up with the audience after his first break in six years. He breaks down the state of emergency management (EM), FEMA reform, and the urgent need for data-driven decision-making and brand standards. With growing concerns about the future of EM, this episode challenges outdated models, calls out inefficiencies, and pushes for a more strategic, structured approach. The EM field is facing major challenges, from funding gaps to a lack of clear role definitions. Passionate debates online highlight growing concerns, but many conversations fail to focus on long-term sustainability. Emergency managers often struggle to define their role, leading to confusion among stakeholders and underfunding of essential programs. John predicts that without major changes, EM as a profession could fade within 10-20 years.John challenges the style of approach for calls-to-action, using the airline industry as an example. Despite recent FAA incidents, year-over-year accident data remains stable, proving that two events don't create a trend—media hype does. The same applies to emergency management: decision-making must be data-driven, not reactive to sensationalized narratives. To be effective, EM must be seen as the strategic coordination of emergency services, not just business management. John emphasizes the importance of branding, clear communication, and stakeholder engagement to secure funding and influence. Without a standardized role for EM professionals across industries, decision-makers struggle to see its value—leading to underfunding and a lack of dedicated resources.John identifies six critical areas FEMA must address to overcome its challenges:1. Funding & Budget Issues – Many disaster declarations are for minor incidents ($8M or less). FEMA needs a smarter approach to resource allocation.2. Technology & Data Utilization – FEMA is severely behind in adopting modern technology for disaster response, coordination, and tracking.3. Emergency Management vs. Auditing – 90% of FEMA operates like the "IRS of Disasters," focusing on compliance and funding rather than true emergency management.4. Deployment & Workforce Structure – The current hiring and deployment model is inefficient, leading to wasted resources and burnout.5. Enhancing EMI (Emergency Management Institute) – FEMA should focus on developing best practices for all industries, not just public safety, to elevate emergency management as a profession.6. Strategic Coordination & Reform – FEMA must embrace long-term planning, efficiency, and structured leadership instead of reacting to crises with short-term fixes. The Call to Action: Evolve or Become ObsoleteEmergency management must shift toward data-driven decision-making, strategic planning, and interagency collaboration. EM professionals need to embrace branding, marketing, and clear messaging to establish credibility and secure funding. The field must also attract multi-disciplinary stakeholders, including finance and logistics experts, to enhance operational efficiency.Emergency management is at a crossroads.Without embracing innovation, technology, and strategic coordination, the field risks being phased out. FEMA and EM leaders must focus on efficiency, structure, and stakeholder engagement to secure long-term success. The world isn't on fire—but without change, emergency management might be.
