On today's This Is Our Everest, Edward and Ian continue their odyssey through non-current Current Affairs with The Six O'Clock Show from July 1982. It's a programme Ian remembers fondly from his childhood and as such this edition is filled with memories and insight. Up for debate are walkmans, vegetable show grift and the futility of live traffic reports on teatime live broadcast television.Greg Dyke is given his due, there's some hard-hitting investigative journalism looking into the fried chicken market and Conservative governments - both past and present - are assessed with an even hand. There's even a shout out for the camera the whole thing was filmed on. You can see the results for yourself here.On tomorrow's episode of this podcast, we'll be covering an episode of Top Gear, but it's not the sort of Top Gear with which you're probably familiar. There’s a bunch of different ways in which you can subscribe to the 200% podcast. You can do so through Spotify, which you can find right here, whilst the podcast RSS feed is here and you can subscribe through Itunes here. And finally, a humble request. These podcasts take a lot of effort to write, record and release, and we would be extremely grateful for your financial support, in whatever way you can manage. We have our Redbubble shop, for the sartorially minded amongst you, and subscribe through joining us on Patreon. We even now have a Kofi button on the site, so do feel free to send us whatever you’re able to. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

The Six O'Clock News A fun song about what I seem to hear on the TV news. Ukulele and voice. Written & performed by Steve Wilson Produced by Steve Wilson
May 29, 2018 / 18:00 / Six O’Clock at St. Clement’s / St. Clement’s Church, 20th and Cherry Streets / I’ve played a few gigs over the years at St. Clement’s and have always loved the sound of the bells there / This track features the ringing of the Angelus—a prayer said in some Christian traditions three times a day—followed by a melody that goes along with the ringing of the 6 o’clock hour / In a way, this sounds to me like a more classical version of the turnstiles in the previous track // All recordings and Photos by Michael Lawrence See the PDF: https://issuu.com/bivouacrecording/docs/60_minute_cities-_philadelphia To know more about purchasing an album from us please see: https://bivouacrecording.postach.io/post/i-just-bought-an-album-when-will-i-recieve-it

In Looking In: Experiences Through the Ages, Nicole and Iain discuss two multi-arts events at the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival: Six O'clock in Princes Street and Neu! Reekie! Named after the famous Wilfred Owen poem, Six O'clock in Princes Street was a night of poetry and performance in the stunning setting of Edinburgh Castle's Great Hall. Exploring veterans' experience with trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder, it was led by NHS Lothian, Scottish Poetry Library, Strange Town and Veterans First Point. Popular spoken word night Neu! Reekie!, curated by Kevin Williamson and Michael Pedersen, took place in partnership with Dundee Literary Festival at Bonar Hall. Featuring novelist Jenni Fagan, presenting her short film Bangour Village Hospital, Loki, the Scottish rapper, guitarist Craig Lithgow, and Kevin Williamson and KiXX Collective performing a racy retelling of Robert Burns' Tam O'Shanter, it was a memorable evening. You can watch material mentioned in the podcast here: Jenni Fagan, Bangour Village Hospital: https://player.vimeo.com/video/219761618 Loki: https://www.youtube.com/user/misterloki100 Talking It Over is a podcast series produced as part of the Talking Heads project at the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival by Nicole Bell and Iain Mitchell from Support in Mind Scotland. Portal 2 gets announced, the Playstation 2 celebrates its 10th birthday, we experience some heavy rain (but only in the literal sense) and, of course, there's the whole Acitivision-Infinity Ward business. We talk about all of these, and then some, on this edition of the Level 3 Audio Podcast.

Born in Italy in 1976, Eva + Franco Mattes a.k.a. 0100101110101101.org have been besieging the art world with their clever hacks and elusive digital role-plays for more than ten years. In 'It's always six o'clock', the avatar portraits in their series 'Annoying Japanese Child Dinosaur' are attacked by an army of toys, not the digital representations but the real McCoy this time. From Manga characters to G.I. Joe, and from medieval knights to Winnie the Pooh, they're all performing in the theatre of pop culture. Cute yet ruthlessly aggressive at times, they're taking over the exhibition space. In the process, fantasy and collective imagination are fusing into a dramatically charged form of 21st ready-made sculpture. www.mu.nl
