The Nintendo Wii, introduced in 2006, helped usher in a moment of retro-reinvention in video game play. This hugely popular console system, codenamed Revolution during development, signaled a turn away from fully immersive, time-consuming MMORPGs or forty-hour FPS games and back toward family fun in the living room. Players using the wireless motion-sensitive controller (the Wii Remote, or “Wiimote”) play with their whole bodies, waving, swinging, swaying. The mimetic interface shifts attention from what's on the screen to what's happening in physical space. Codename Revolution describes the Wii's impact in technological, social, and cultural terms, examining the Wii as a system of interrelated hardware and software that was consciously designed to promote social play in physical space. Each chapter of Codename Revolution focuses on a major component of the Wii as a platform: the console itself, designed to be low-powered and nimble; the iconic Wii Remote; Wii Fit Plus, and its controller, the Wii Balance Board; the Wii Channels interface and Nintendo's distribution system; and the Wii as a social platform that not only affords multiplayer options but also encourages social interaction in shared physical space. Finally, the authors connect the Wii's revolution in mimetic interface gaming—which eventually led to the release of Sony's Move and Microsoft's Kinect—to some of the economic and technological conditions that influence the possibility of making something new in this arena of computing and culture. Object Lessons is a series of concise, collectable, beautifully designed books about the hidden lives of ordinary things. Each book starts from a specific inspiration: an historical event, a literary passage, a personal narrative, a technological innovation-and from that starting point explores the object of the title, gleaning a singular lesson or multiple lessons along the way. Featuring contributions from writers, artists, scholars, journalists, and others, the emphasis throughout is lucid writing, imagination, and brevity. Object Lessons paints a picture of the world around us, and tells the story of how we got here, one object at a time. Our readers are Dinah Lenney, Steve Mentz, Steven E. Jones, Rolf Halden, and Erik Anderson. _______________________________________________ Produced by Maddie Gobbo & Michael Kowaleski Theme: "I Love All My Friends," a new, unreleased demo by Fragile Gang.

This episode of Visibility 9-11 welcomes back to the program, Physicist Dr. Steven E. Jones.  Dr. Jones is a retired physics professor and first emerged in late 2005 with his important paper Why Indeed Did the World Trade Center Buildings Completely Collapse?, and has continued to do groundbreaking research into the "collapses" of all three high rise buildings on September 11th, 2001.  Dr. Jones both sits as co-editor at the Journal of 9-11 Studies and is the founder of Scholars for 9-11 Truth and Justice.  He has been a stalwart in the scientific and scholarly area of the 9-11 Truth Movement. Our talks today with Dr. Jones features an in-depth discussion on a new paper which has been formally published and peer reviewed by The Open Chemical Physics Journal titled Active Thermitic Material Discovered in Dust from the 9/11 World Trade Center Catastrophe.  In this revolutionary new research paper, discoveries made in the World Trade Center Dust, particularly the red/gray bi-layered chips, are examined in great detail and include evidence of the thermite fingerprint at every juncture. The research paper ends with this sentence, which pulls no punches when it comes to what the authors believe these red/gray chips to be:  "Based on these observations, we conclude that the red layer of the red/gray chips we have discovered in the WTC dust is active, unreacted thermitic material, incorporating nanotechnology, and is a highly energetic pyrotechnic or explosive material." Dr. Steven E. Jones, co-author of the paper writes:  "In short, the paper explodes the official story that “no evidence” exists for explosive/pyrotechnic materials in the WTC buildings."  The red/gray chips are the "loaded gun" of  9-11. Read this important paper directly at The Open Chemical Physics Journal website here. Download these important episodes of Visibility 9-11 and here and here. Find links to the research paper, these episodes, and watch for other planned interviews on this topic at our Visibility 9-11 Special Report, The Thermite Fingerprint; The Loaded Gun.

This week Visibility 9-11 welcomes back to the program, PhD Physicist Steven E. Jones for an update on his ongoing research into clues hidden in the 9-11 dust.  This powerful evidence, all of which is mentioned in a new paper at the Journal of 9-11 Studies titled Extremely high temperatures during the WTC destruction and was found in numerous samples of 9-11 dust collected from different locations around the WTC site.  This research includes scientific evidence relating to iron-rich micro spheres, silicate spherules, shiny metallic and semi-transparent silicate-rich spherules, Molybdenum spherule, and bi-layered chips, red on one side and dark grey on the other, which Dr. Jones suspects and speculates to be unexploded Super Thermite, also known as Nano-Thermite.  Research on the bi-layered chips is thus far not conclusive but research is ongoing.Dr. Jones is a co-founder of Scholars for 9-11 Truth and Justice and co-founder and editor at the Journal of 9-11 Studies.Intermission music by Experience KEF.Ending music by Three Shoes Posse.

The podcast is the first in a series, going through the PowerPoint presentation by physics professor Steven E. Jones.  Dr. Jones brings to light scientific proof and other startling facts and testimony which proves that the "official" version of how the WTC twin towers and building WTC7 collapsed is a fairy tale and that the only plausible explanation is that of a controlled demolition using pre-planted explosives.
