This week Nathalie and Rachel cover two cases of mothers who killed/attempted to kill their children. Nathalie starts off with some information about maternal filicide, including the different types and possible motives for murder. Rachel starts off the podcast with the story of Marybeth Tinning. After Marybeth and her husband, Joe, lost their first child, Jennifer, Marybeth was never quite the same. Marybeth had seven more children (and one adopted child) all died under mysterious circumstances. Even though she was only ever charged with the murder of her daughter, Tami Lynn, it is believed that she was responsible for all of their deaths. Nathalie then tells the story of Diane Downs. One night in May of 1983, Diane drove into the hospital in a blood-spattered car. She claimed that she and her three children were victims of a carjacking gone wrong. Investigators became suspicious after her story began to unravel and soon saw Diane had shot her children in an attempt to win back the affections of her ex-lover, Robert Knickerbocker. After her trial, Diane's two surviving children were adopted by the lead prosecutor on the case. Tami Lyn's musical career began in her early childhood. Playing instruments in the church and in various places led to elementary school projects, playing in the band and singing projects. She then started singing in church choirs and singing groups with the Dean Collin Hope Singers. They traveled throughout the south in what is known as the "The Chitlin Circuit.” She attended UC Berkeley at an early age in the Upward Bound Program for the mentally gifted minors. She then began to play the congos and explored journalism. And, that's where she began her career in Oakland, California with Soul Beat Television. She then came to Southern California and continued her independent artistry working with various clubs in Los Angeles County. Tami has done volunteer work with the NAACP and the National Association for Equal Justice in America. She was one of the first African-American Longshore women in the Los Angeles-Long Beach Harbor. Tami is blessed and enjoys sharing her talent and her gifts. CD Baby Music Link: Tami Lyn | The Best | CD Baby Music Store Facebook Page Link: https://m.facebook.com/Tamilynsworld/

This week’s episode is all about justice and the civil rights of a sentient foul mouthed teddy bear as we talk about 2015’s Ted 2. This time around, Ted and Tami-Lynn are married and looking to have a baby. They have a few biological setbacks along the way, but their attempt to adopt a child reveals that Ted is not viewed as a person by the state and forces him to fight for his right to exist. Ted has help along his journey to justice as his best friend John and his new lawyer Samantha are constantly by his side in the fight. The movie is very silly and has a bunch of great one liners and hilarious scenes. In what world does the governmental process move so quickly? Why aren’t more people sympathetic to Ted’s cause? What’s the deal with Ted’s guts? Is there a brain in there that allowed him to be knocked unconscious by Donny? Lungs that let him get high and a liver that lets him get drunk? Will there be a Ted 3 someday? This movie is worth the watch, check it out if you haven't already. Thank you for all of the love you continue to show us. Please rate and review the podcast wherever you get it and if you like the show, share it with your friends. Have a great week.

What is it to be ‘human?. That’s the issue that ‘Ted 2’ takes on. Of course, they take it on with the edgy, politically incorrect humor of Mr. Seth MacFarlane, who also wrote and directed the film. At the start of ‘the movie, Ted (voiced by MacFarlane) marries Tami-Lynn, (Jessica Barth) his girlfriend from the […]
