In this episode the brave team interviews Yahosh Bonner and Dr. Lashawn C. Williams about how to talk to our kids about racism and how to prevent racism in our homes through education. We also discuss the controversial critical race theory- what critical race theory is exactly and how it is being taught in schools. We had some differing views on the effects of teaching critical race theory in schools and what we may do as parents to play a role in shaping our kids who are possibly learning about it in school. Go join our conversation and add your perspective.

This week’s episode is a special one. Taralyn had the amazing opportunity to interview her dear friends, Yahosh and Vanessa Bonner. These two make an incredible power couple, who are beacons of hope, understanding, and love in the world. As people of color, they offer us insight into their own personal experiences, and have a message of connection and unity that will add to the dialogue taking place in the United States today. This conversation is a vulnerable one, with the intent to increase our understanding of each other. Vanessa and Yahosh share many beautiful thoughts, including: We are all on the same side—the side of humanity! We just want to matter. You can still support your law enforcement and still empathize with your brothers and sisters of color. You don’t have to have been through something to understand it. Let’s use our empathy. It’s ok to be uncomfortable. This week we join the conversation on racism in our country. Special guests Melaina Peterson, Yahosh Bonner, and Tim Drisdom share their shocking experiences and perspectives. Please listen. This is an incredibly important issue and we all need to open our eyes and mouths and take a stand for what is right.
In this episode, we speak with two amazing guests, LaShawn Williams and Yahosh Bonner. In addition to the work they do in their communities, LaShawn is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Utah Valley University and Yahosh is the Athletic Director at American Heritage School and host of BYUtv’s Family Rules.LaShawn and Yahosh discussed with us what it’s like to be a Black person in America and in the Church today, how we can healthily engage in introspection to find our own biases and shortcomings, and how we can move from listening and understanding to making a difference in our communities. We’re so grateful that LaShawn and Yahosh came on the podcast, and hope you enjoy the conversation.
Yahosh Bonner is a rising star in the music world. In this episode, we discuss his musical heritage, his love of sports, his own family, the many song projects he has been a part of and how he uses his gifts and talents to spread the gospel. Yahosh is remarkably talented, yet humble, approachable and engaging.
At first I was kind of nervous to do this interview , because just like Yahosh told me, "racism in America has been kind of a roller coaster". Yahosh was so kind that I was able to ask questions that might seem a little awkward in other situations. But I learned that when people are really friends, honest questions aren't offensive. You should follow him on Youtube and Instagram @Yahoshb. If you don't happen to be black, have you ever wondered whether to say "Black" or "African American?" I asked. Or have you ever wondered if your actions are somehow offensive, even if it's on accident? Yahosh shared some personal stories that were not fun to talk about I'm sure. Thank you. This episode took a ton of work from a lot of people. You'll hear music throughout, most of it sung by Yahosh. You'll also hear: The Debra Bonner Unity Gospel Choir- soloist Tierra Custer. Rashida Jordan Call- soloist on "Will the Circle Be Unbroken". Yahosh was singing with her on it. The Bonner Family is also at the end singing "I need Thee Every Hour" * we also used "This is How we Do it" by Montel Jordan. Because we figured that any party in the 90's had that song. One thing I forgot in the intro to the episode is that Yahosh is a teacher and basketball coach at American Leadership Academy. He has his Masters Degree in Communications. Special thanks to my super editor Brianna. Who always treats my podcast with great care... but this one she did even more. If you're wondering who the cool Australian is at the very beginning, it's Brianna. G'day! **Accent is real.
In this Christmas-themed episode of Mormon Channel Studio, Yahosh Bonner sings “Sweet Little Jesus Boy” and “Silent Night” and is accompanied by Rashida Jordan Call on piano.

In the realm of Anti-trafficking we run into Godly men and women frequently. In the ranks of the good, is Jason Buttrill. Toward the end he opens up about how he almost blew the operation in order to punish a trafficker on the spot. How did he refrain? Why did he refrain. Pay special attention to the music on this episode, produced by Kyson Kidd with Rashida Call Jordan and Yahosh Bonner. When the Saints Go Marching In, Do you Want to Be in That Number?
