Chad and Somphien Manivanh both were born into Buddhist families in Southeast Asia during times of war. When they were young children, different Christian refugee programs helped them to get to America, where they continued to search for peace and ultimately found it in the Church of  Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They especially liked that many of the health codes that they honored in Buddhism were also honored in their new church. They met in college and married. Today they live in Everett Washington. Their home is a warm and loving place for visitors.  I hope Chad and Somphien's faith inspires you like it does me.  God bless!  Bo

Today I got the privilege of speaking with LA County Sherriff's Deputy, Warren Asmus. From this hour with him I learned many things about the men and women in blue (or tan in his case). First thing is that every cop has plenty of cool stories along the lines of Chasing a criminal, Stopping a murder, breaking up a fight, Stoping a drug deal and all that other cool stuff. But I was especially intrigued with the stories he told me about him comforting people who lost a loved one on their doorstep reporting the death. He would spend hours with them making sure that he/she was OK and wouldn't harm others or even themselves. He told me stories of helping kids find their way home, and a ton of other acts of kindness. These stories got me thinking like crazy. The cops we see on TV and in real life get in car chases and murder cases, but behind all that, they are humans who want a better and safer world so bad, that they would make it their job. Nobody was forced to be a cop, they all chose this. So next time I see a cop, I'm going to be a tad bit more appreciative of what they do. Uncle Warren, thank you for your time/ stories and wisdom. I truly am changed for the better after our interview and hope the listeners feel the same.

Do you ever just feel like someone is speaking your language? That's Henry to me. We were introduced not long before the podcast and within 3 minutes I felt like a real friend. Henry's story inspires me because he has walked away from a lot of peoples' dream scenarios because his heart is telling him to teach and inspire others. As far as I'm concerned mission accomplished. If I could count how manny people I've met, Lessons I've learned and friendships that have became from Dumb It Down, That would take some time. Because there is not a number that high. I was just a kid peer pressured by my parents to talk into a microphone. I had everything I could possibly need to succeed, but only I could flip the switch and make a podcast. And that was STILL hard to do, But once I did, I never looked back. I got so much wisdom from the best people in the best places, I got friendships from the friendliest, most welcoming people on earth, I got connection, I got money, and I got listeners, I got to travel too, I got to speak and sell for some of my dear friends and families companies. I knew I could never match that feeling of happiness again. My point is, as a twelve year old with tens of thousands of listens from all over the globe. My life was and still is AMAZING! And I know this is super cliche' but none of that feeling wood happen without, The support from my parents 24/7, the guests who took time out of their busy schedule to talk to some kid with a microphone and all my listeners, and every single one of you have built up my heart and my inspiration to keep creating. There is no feeling quite like being listened to by that many people.Ya'll have heard me laugh, and you have heard me cry, you might of heard me tell a terrible joke, but most of all, Ya'll have heard me grow. So THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!  Thank you for every memory, every good comment on my website, Every word of inspiration, every hour you would take out of your day to listen to me. Kaden and his father Jorge Garcia are the founders of the stylish and trendy clothing company "Your tribe clothing." Here is the story of how it started. Kadens best friend died of suicide in 8th grade. Also, Jorge had a heart attack and considered suicide himself. After all these unfortunate events nothing happened. It was when  Kadens friend at Springville High School committed suicide and Kaden was the one who decided to make a difference. A week-long text conversation between Kaden and his father Jorge led to the company "Your tribe clothing." Sending the message of love and togetherness inspiring all those thinking of taking their own life. With a word strong word (in a good way) on the front with the shirt and a well-designed letter I (using the semicolon for that is the sign of suicide awareness). A quick back story to this episode. Savannah used to be my neighbor, I would hang out with her and her brothers about all day 4-5 days a week. Then they moved to Europe for a while and are still there. So I had texted her a lot since she left but never talked to her. So I decided to chat with her over the phone about Europe. Here is how it went.

I loved every second of talking to Sam and Bridger. At first, I was a little scared for this episode. I figured there are a lot of med student podcasts and let alone med students in the world today. So what made these two so special? I found out during the interview, It is not what they do that makes them special, It is who they are. These two are people who recognize the smallest and largest miracles in life such as Birth or Heart Surgery. Bridger was inspired to do this at a very young age Watching his younger brother get glass removed from his back. Sam was inspired because of personal loss. These two are both smart, kind, creative, and special Individuals. These guys taught me that even the most accomplished put in the work when nobody is watching.  People listening at home, I am just glad I got to talk to both of them. Brock and Boston are just about the most rad people ever!!! I got the pleasure of talking to the 14 year old twins on, finding the purpose of childhood, and enjoying life while it's here. I was a little nervous talking to people that awesome. But it was all worth it, So enjoy Brock and Boston 

Something funny happens if you google my dad, Mark Mabry. You get a bunch of pictures of Jesus. It would have been really funny to do that to him... but he did this one to himself. About 10 years ago, when I was 4, my Dad created an art exhibit called "Reflections of Christ". It's a collection of pictures depicting Jesus that ended up being pretty popular. I was so young when it came out that I didn't really notice it, but now I'm interested.   Interviewing my Daddy was a treat for every second of it. I want to thank you Dad for everything you do for me and the other 3 kids. I could never do what you have done for me, I am so happy I got to record one of our very finest conversation. Love you Daddy  

If I could have a super power it would be... Having a more rad story than Dale Hull. He became paralyzed by doing a backflip and landing on his neck. He later ran the olympic torch to Karl Malone of the 97-98 Utah Jazz. He also ran an underwater marathon. But the coolest of all.   Nueroworx started when Dr. Hull started his recovery from his devastating injury, his gears started turning and he thought he could help heal paralyzed people from all over the world. So with the help of many Family organizations and others, He did it. He started Nueroworx!!!(round of aplause sound effect) Here we are talking in the very building.    Way to go Dr. Hull, Can not wait for this episode to publish.

I talked to Mark for about an hour before this, There was no other time where I was ticked that I was not recording this. He gave me so much coaching, advice (no they are not the same thing) And most of all Parables, And yes Including the ones Jesus Christ wished we had learned and understood earlier.    Mark Fournier has won multiple awards (Including Three Emmy's) For his books. If I went thirty years into the future, I would be a shocked to think one of the people I remember from my childhood would be my 7th grade english teacher. Not only did I learn from him film and english. I also learned how to love everyone, and to love myself. I connected to some people I thought I would never be friends with. So thank you Mr. Jackman. For being the cool teacher. I never thought english would be my favorite class. It was the only class I knew I could get a good laugh in, with or without your Barack Obama impression. At first I was kind of nervous to do this interview , because just like Yahosh told me, "racism in America has been kind of a roller coaster". Yahosh was so kind that I was able to ask questions that might seem a little awkward in other situations. I asked.  Or have you ever wondered if your actions are somehow offensive, even if it's on accident?  Yahosh shared some personal stories that were not fun to talk about I'm sure. The night went horribly the whole time, But then this happened. Life felt differently for me, Even though it was not the biggest deal. (It did not have to anything with girls) I got support from friends, and family. I found out who my true friends are. I found out who loved me, and who I loved. Telling my mom with tears in my eye. My little sister, who I would die for, Witnessed the whole thing.                                                                                                                    My Dad Breaks down the whole thing, so people could hear. I love what he says about life. I learned so much in this, even as a guest. In the words of another relative of mine "Bo- If you get 2 strikes and Hit a Homer, No one remembers the strikes."-(Clyde Bawden). Ballard started this organization after leaving out of the Department of Homeland Security working out of the south border of U.S.  He saw this rising problem spreading throughout the world.  Focusing in Haiti, Colombia, Southern Asia and spread across United States of America On Super Bowl Sunday 2017, several Traffickers were arrested and  30 female children, were rescued off a boat full of traffickers on a boat in the seas of Eastern Hati. The Operation Underground Railroad has been searching for this one boy named Guardy who was kidnapped during church in Haiti when the kidnapping problem was most dangerous. For Many years they have dedicated their time, Money, And their soldiers spend weeks away from his/her family just to make another families life better.  This Childs father is named Gestno, He lost his son when the boy was 4 years old. And Guardy has just turned 9. So remember to keep Gestno and his orphanage , Tim, Guardy, and all the brave people who make the world a little bit cleaner every day in your prayers. Tim is such an amazing man not just because of the world he is helping but because he is a husband, a father of 10, a public speaker who can make you cry within seconds of hearing what he has to say. My Mom is so special for so many reasons, because she is 50 percent of my life (Dad is the other 50) I love her so much and I am so thankful for what she does. I recently had the thrill of interviewing my precious Mom. And that is yet another reason I am the most spoiled kid in the world. I love her so much. I have been a victim of many things such as multiple ear surgeries, an ATV accident, Drowning. And I have little amount of reasons to live, one of which being my love for my Mother Tara Mabry

I have had this interview done for a a while, but haven't published it. I haven't published because a few weeks ago a tragic accident took Todd and Ashley's daughter, and they have been so sad, and so I didn't feel right releasing the episode. But a few days ago, they announced a Hollyday, in honor of Todd's sweet little girl, Holly. So I asked Todd if he thought it would be good to publish today. He said it would be great. This is my act of kindness to those that love the Heaps. #hugsfromhollyday I was Todd Heap for Halloween three years in a row. When I was a little baby my parents took me with them to Baltimore and we watched him play. "When these kind of accidents happen, its very scary. I Have had people ask me did you think about suicide? And I have to say, I said "yes". You have totally lost your life as you know it. You also have to know your boundaries are. Even though I would have never followed through with it, You have a choice. You can go on. Or you can check out."-Dale Hull  I love that quote. Because you do have a choice. Dale was such an inspiring man to me. I loved our interview. Dale was the man of the hour for sure.   Dale is the human Ironman/ Captain America/ Bruce Banner/ Michael Jordan. Because he overcame paralysis. Ran the Olympic torch. "The olympic torch is such a special thing. Because every country in the world does something different then all the hundreds of other ones. But the torch is special because it is the first and only thing the world agrees with. Nothing else is more special than the sign of world peace in the palm of my hand. And then passing it Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz" (MY FAVORITE TEAM!!!!)   And then he ran an underwater marathon shortly after his accident. (Backflip rotational failure) and then he helped hundreds do the same.   The way he did it was through "Nueroworx"  (Pronounced Nero Works) A company that started out with 12 patients, 2 yoga balls, and some weights. With no more than that. Dale and Jan are so enthusiastic about what they do, that over four families donated over 300,000 US Dollars!!!!! Including the owners of the Utah Jazz, an Imax Theatre and over 15 car dealerships in UT. Larry H. And Gail Miller. And not only did they give 1/2 Million dollars, but they also donated a Basketball court with the NBA Front offices OK to put the Jazz logo on the court! Robert owns a company called "Garbage guy" what they do is they haul off al your stuff that is to big to throw away yourselves (Fridges Cars Couches ect.) And they take it to a dump or landfill for you. Robert has a special place in my dads heart in my heart and in the DID Teams heart. I went to Arizona a few weeks ago and interviewed Mel McDonald. He lives next door to my Nana and I have known him for most of my life. Mel has one of the best memories ever and he also has kept a journal every day of his life for the past 50 years or so (never misses).  He has written down every conversation and event.  Ronald Raegan appointed him to be the US Attorney for AZ in 1981 (he'll explain what that is).  Another thing he tells me about is Watergate and President Nixon.  Thank you Mel for being so patient with me and explaining all of your big words.    Bo  

If every football coach was like Coach Parker, we would have a much different country... full of people who know how to work through pain, tell the truth, memorize poetry, and say 'yes sir' and 'yes m'am'  Hi Everyone, this is Bo's Dad. Recently Bo landed and interview with one of my heroes, Coach Jesse Parker. He has won more football games than any coach in Arizona history. He was also the AP History teacher. When he taught us football, he would inspire us with stories of brave men and women in American history.  At the end of the podcast Coach Parker shares that he has been battling cancer for the last year and his feelings about the roll of God in our lives.  This episode might be a little longer than you're used to, but it's worth it.    Thanks,  Mark (Bo's Dad)    PS. It's that easy.  I was in 6th grade last year and had tough time paying attention when I was in a desk for that long. Sorry Mrs. Nissen.  So my mom and dad let me take a year off as long as I was "up to something" and I kept doing Kahn Academy math everyday.
