Edmonton trailed 3-0 in the series; however, with wins in Game 4 and 5 they've dragged themselves back into the series. It doesn't look like head coach Kris Knoblauch will make any lineup changes. With that said, he mentioned that Evander Kane is a game time decision but it still feels unlikely he plays. On the Panthers side, Nick Cousins will be the lone lineup change with Kyle Okposo sitting out.Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin go live for Oilersnation Everyday at noon ahead of tonight's Stanley Cup action. I'd be lying if I didn't acknowledge the hole the Edmonton Oilers find themselves in after losing both games in Florida to kick off the Stanley Cup Final, but that doesn't mean the series is over. It just means the mountain gets a whole lot tougher to climb.I started this week's podcast with a recap of our trip to Florida, what it was like at the Amarent Bank Arena, what we did on the off day, and what the Oilers need to do to pull themselves back in the series. Despite only being gone for four days, there was a lot going on for the four of us from Nation HQ who made our way down to Fort Lauderdale. We did live shows, wrote a bunch of articles, posted countless social posts, and despite the results, we also mixed in some shenanigans.Turning the show back to the Oilers, I started the news with some updates from the rink that Cam Lewis and Zach Laing provided after their first day on the beat. With the boys credentialed for the Stanley Cup Final, it's the first time Oilersnation has ever had this kind of access before, and it's made a huge difference for our coverage.Lastly, I wrapped up this week's show with an RSB about the horrible officiating and capped off the pod with another round of voicemails ranging from Stanley Cup woes to positive messages and everything in between. Once again, this podcast really is one of my favourite parts of the week, and I'm so very grateful for the levels of participation by the wonderful BLTN community that keeps moving. Oh, and subscribe to my YouTube channel.
The Edmonton Oilers take on the Dallas Stars tonight in game 5 of the Western Conference Final. The Oilers are down in Dallas after beating the Stars 5-2 in game 4 to tie the series. The Edmonton Oilers could find out who they take on in Round 2 tonight when the Vancouver Canucks and Nashville Predators go head-to-head. If the Canucks win, then the Round 2 matchup locks in; however, if the Predators manage to pull off another win then Game 7 goes on Sunday.Until then, let's continue to talk about the Oilers first round win over the Los Angeles Kings. Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin go live on the Oilersnation YouTube for Oilersnation Everyday. Want your thoughts on the show? Leave your questions, comments and concerns in the Charm Diamond Centres YouTube live chat throughout the program. Tyler and Liam will have three guests join them on Oilersnation Everyday today. First up is Frank Seravalli from Daily Faceoff. In the coming days, Frank is releasing his top 50 unrestricted free agents ahead up the summer free agency period. The guys will go over the list and see which players the Oilers could possibly be interested in.Next up is Zach Laing from Oilersnation with The Notebook. With Zach, they'll take a look back at the Oilers first round series against the Kings. They'll discuss why the Oilers found so much success and how they can continue that heading into Round 2.Finally, Ryan Clark from ESPN joins the program. Ryan will give the listeners a much wider perspective on what has been happening around the NHL. Additionally, he'll give his predictions on how the final first round series will end.
The Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings are tied up at one piece with game three on the horizon. The Kings took game two in what was a disappointing game for the Oilers. Edmonton spotted LA a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes and, despite forcing the game to overtime, the Kings came away with a 5-4 victory. How will the Oilers change things tonight? Last game, it was the Adrien Kempe-Anze Kopitar-Quinton Byfied trio that dominated the Oilers. They scored three of the five goals, including the overtime winner. A major key to victory is finding a way to shutdown that trio. Additionally, will the Oilers stars show up line in game three? The video game mode aspect of Connor McDavid's game showed up on Monday but couldn't find that same groove on Wednesday.Tyler Yaremchuk and Liam Horrobin are boots on the ground in Los Angeles for game three. They will go live at noon for Oilersnation Everyday over on the Oilersnation YouTube channel. Jay Downton also joins Tyler and Liam which means today's edition of Oilersnation Everyday is a Sherwood Ford GIANT Pre Game Show edition of Oilersnation Everyday. Later in the program, Zach Laing from Oilersnation joins the guys for The Notebook in the back half of the show. With Zach, they will chat about everything ahead of game three tonight and get his thoughts on what needs to change from game two. Also, the three of them will go around the NHL.
