News broke today - February 10, 2026 - that Mr. Robson has passed away at age 91. Robson was the “Voice of the Canucks” on radio and TV from their inaugural NHL season in Vancouver in 1970 until 1999. Years before that, Jim Robson began his radio career as a 17-year-old, calling basketball games in Port Alberni, British Columbia, in the early 1950s. He was even a finalist in 1969 for the role of “play by play man” for the one-season-and-done Seattle Pilots of Major League Baseball. Feliks Banel interviewed Mr. Robson in January 2021 for a look ahead at the Seattle Kraken's expansion season in autumn 2021.
