Frank and Jason are back with a fresh episode of The DFO Rundown to kick off the week.To begin things today, they talked about the Islanders' decision to go with Mathieu Darche as their next General Manager. He takes over a pretty flawed Isles roster and will certainly have his work cut out for him. The guys talked about what's on his checklist for this summer and the decision that looms involving current Head Coach Patrick Roy.After that, they dug into the Conference Finals. We've seen three games in both the East and West and one series has been much more interesting than the others. The Florida Panthers have been absolutely pummeling the Carolina Hurricanes, which has raised some questions about the Canes roster and also Rod Brind'Amour, who is close to losing his 12th straight Conference Finals game.Out west, the Oilers took a 2-1 series lead over the Stars on Sunday. Stuart Skinner turned in another impressive performance, Evan Bouchard continued to shine and Connor McDavid found the back of the net twice. The guys talked about the series and how the Oilers have this feeling like a lot more than a 2-1 series lead.Tyler then joined for ‘Fill in the Blank' where he asked the guys about Mitch Marner's fit in Carolina, their NHL GM of the Year, and the Stanley Cup odds on Bet365.To wrap, the guys talked a little bit about USA's win at the World Hockey Championships.1:10 - Darche lands on Long Island11:30 - Panthers jump out to a 3-0 lead20:25 - Oilers lead Stars 2-138:20 - Fill in the Blank50:00 - USA wins Gold at WorldsWant to hear more from Frank, Jason and the entire DFO team? It's the Wednesday after Game 5, which means a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never is ready to recap the Edmonton Oilers' miraculous comeback while also looking back at the week that was. On today's podcast, I recapped games 3-5, looked ahead at Game 6, what the Oilers need to do to close out the series, and much more.Isn't it amazing how many things can change in a week? When I recorded last Wednesday's episode, the Oilers had just spectacularly lost Game 1 and were about to drop Game 2 even worse somehow. The good news is that sports are the best reality show on earth, and watching our boys come roaring back with three straight wins is almost as good as it gets. I also touched on how great the other first round series have been, and how working through a playoff run can be tough on the body.Turning my full attention back to the Oilers, I started with a recap of games 3-5 and how the Oilers have gotten better with each passing period. That's not to say that they were perfect by any stretch, but Edmonton's ability to crank up their resiliency when it mattered most was an unstoppable force for Los Angeles. There's also the Calvin Pickard effect, as the team clearly enjoys playing in front of a guy who seems like the nicest man on earth. Then there's Evan Bouchard's four goals, Evander Kane's impact, and Leon Draisaitl tying Messier and Gretzky for one of the wildest playoff records ever. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a guest Righteous Sack Beating before wrapping up the podcast with a quality round of voicemails. The voicemail was alive this week, and the messages were very funny, as you could almost feel the rollercoaster of emotions that were going on. As always, finishing up the show with your opinions is my favourite part of the whole thing and something I always look forward to most.

The Edmonton Oilers dropped a tough one last night, falling 5-4 to the Dallas Stars in a game full of injury scares. Zach Hyman left in the second period but managed to return, Evan Bouchard took a puck to the leg but also came back, and Stuart Skinner was forced to leave after a collision with Mikko Rantanen and did not return. Despite missing both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, the Oilers put up a strong fight, dominating the first period with a 14-5 shot advantage. However, things unraveled in the second, as Jason Robertson recorded a natural hat trick to put Dallas in control. Edmonton didn't quit, though, mounting a furious third-period comeback with three unanswered goals but ultimately falling just short. We'll go through our scoring summary, one big take, and today's Sherwood Ford Giant Question before shifting focus to tonight's matchup against the Seattle Kraken. It's a quick turnaround for the Oilers, and we'll bring you the latest injury updates and lineup reports ahead of the second half of the back-to-back.To cap it off, we'll be joined in studio by DJ Bean and Pete Blackburn, who are in Edmonton for our watch party at Greta tonight! Another Wednesday means another episode of Better Lait Than Never is wrapped up, edited, and ready to get you through what's left of the week. On today's podcast, we're discussing Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' heater, McDavid and Draisaitl's injury timelines, the #NationVacation to Vegas, and more.I kicked off this week's podcast with a random collection of topics that have happened since last week, including some of the books I'm reading, trying to learn how to use a 3D printer, and how I'm going to be a fancy boy at the Oilers game tonight. As you'll hear, your boy will be in a game-time situation that has only ever happened once before — or when I snuck in — and I couldn't be more excited.Turning the podcast to the Oilers, I had to start with the heater Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has been on over his last four games and how it's so much fun to watch my guy crank it up when the team needs him most. While the start of RNH's season wasn't the most productive offensively, the guy has really turned it on down the stretch. Same goes for Jeff Skinner, who, all of a sudden, has three goals in his last two games after getting bumped up the lineup with Connor and Leon out. Yet, based on the line combos from practice yesterday, our man Skinner could be back to his usual spot on the 3rd line against Dallas. The other story that popped around here this week was the quote from Stan Bowman on Hockey Night in Canada that expressed his confidence in the team's ability to re-sign Connor McDavid to an extension. While Bowman didn't get into any details apart from saying he felt confident they would get it done, the GM's words were music to the fanbase's ears. Sticking with contracts, Jacob Chychrun signed a massive extension with Washington yesterday, which led to a discussion about how that deal will affect Evan Bouchard's upcoming contract negotiations. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a Righteous Sack Beating about my trip to WEM before wrapping up the podcast with another round of voicemails. While the voicemail was quieter this week, the messages that did get left were very funny and all over the map. As always, finishing up the show with your opinions is my favourite part of the whole thing and something I always look forward to.

It's Tuesday afternoon, and a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is set, edited, and ready to massage your earhole. On today's episode, we discussed Evan Bouchard's next contract, McDavid and Draisaitl's injury timelines, Jeff Skinner, and much more. We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about a neighbour in Dan's hood who keeps running his diesel truck for extended periods every day. As you'll hear, the neighbour is clearly trying to troll his neighbours with his vehicle, which led the guys to offer a range of solutions, from calling the bi-law officer to being much more petty than that. As a bonus delicious debate, Tyler wanted to know how the Jacob Chychrun extension in Washington will impact Evan Bouchard's upcoming negotiation. Needless to say, it's going to get expensive. Changing gears, we looked at the updated injury timelines for Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl and how the Oilers will be without their two stars for (at least) the next three games. Given that the Oilers have some winnable games — Dallas aside — over the next week, it's not the worst idea to give the team's two best players a little some extra time to get healthy. The good news, however, is that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has caught fire over the last week or so, and having the secondary scorers start to warm up certainly helps the decision. The tricky part of the situation is that the secondary scorers need to keep chipping in.Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a discussion about Connor McDavid's contract extension after a quote from Stan Bowman on Hockey Night in Canada had the fanbase buzzing. We also walked through some NHL and CFL futures in our betting segment for bet365 before wrapping up the podcast with a round of keys to victory ahead of Wednesday's matchup with the Dallas Stars.
