Injectable peptide therapy, a controversial wellness trend that caught fire online in 2025, shows no signs of slowing down in 2026 despite an overwhelming lack of safety data. Peptides, especially “research peptides” like BPC-157 and TB-500, have been hailed by famous podcasters, biohackers, and longevity gurus as a miracle cure for just about anything that ails you, from torn ligaments and gut issues to curbing wrinkles and dull skin. There are several well-studied, FDA-approved peptides available today, such as insulin and GLP-1s like Ozempic and Wegovy, but that's just a sliver of the peptide pie. There are thousands more with glowing online reviews, but scant scientific data, that can be procured online or through longevity clinics. Mixes of various peptides, called “peptide stacks,” often come with clever names like the ‘'wolverine stack' or ‘glow protocol', while others have earned names like ‘Barbie peptide' for their ability to tan the skin without the sun. These popular stacks are not FDA-approved, so they're distributed online as 'research peptides' that are meant for in-lab research, not human use — a workaround for their gray market status. To find out more, host Lexy Lebsack sat down with two experts on the topic. First up was NYT's David Dodge (8:42), who walked us through the rise of peptide therapy online. He published an article for NYT in November titled “The internet loves peptide therapy. Is it really a miracle cure?” Lebsack also interviews McGill's Jonathan Jarry (29:35), who wrote an article in late 2023 — well ahead of a rush of online articles — called “The human lab rats injecting themselves with peptides.” Jarry walks us through the hard science, and lack thereof, of many popular stacks, ahead.
Frazer, Joe, and Andy discuss LA Kings trading for Artemi Panarin, Leon not happy with Jarry, and an Olympic hockey preview.
Ask Dubey is back for episode 32!Before diving into your Oilers questions, Dubey reacts to the wild Stadium Series matchup between the Lightning and Bruins — including an old-school goalie fight at center ice between Jeremy Swayman and Andrei Vasilevskiy. A rare sight, even rarer that both goalies stayed in the game. Dubey breaks down why moments like that fire everyone up, and why goalie fights are still such a tricky situation in today's NHL.From there, it's straight into your questions. Adam Crowley and Dorin Dickerson react to this relevant NHL figure comparing former Penguins', now Edmonton Oilers goalie Tristan Jarry to "Swiss cheese."
The Oilers will be heading into the Olympic break with a 3 game losing stream. Tom Gazzola, Ben Thomson and Matt Kassian break this game down as the Oilers simply were not good enough to beat the Flames. How did Jarry play tonight? What replacements do the Oilers need? Is Knoblauch on the hot seat? We break all of this down and so much more on this edition of The GCL Diesel Oil Stream Postgame Show here on Edmonton Sports Talk!
Tyler and Liam break it all down on this episode of Oilersnation Everyday as they recap Saturday night's 7–3 loss to the Minnesota Wild. The Oilers came into the game riding a three-game winning streak and even opened the scoring, but things unraveled quickly in the second period as Minnesota took control and never looked back. The boys go through everything that went wrong, from missed coverage to momentum swings that completely flipped the game on its head.In the crease, it was a rough one. Tristan Jarry was pulled after allowing five goals on 20 shots, finishing the night with a .750 save percentage. Connor Ingram came in but couldn't settle things down either, surrendering two goals on nine shots. Tyler and Liam discuss whether there should be growing concern around Jarry's play, especially with his numbers now sitting at an .873 SV% through 11 appearances with Edmonton. The show also dives into the latest Oilers news, including Calvin Pickard being placed on waivers, with a decision expected at noon on whether another NHL team claims him. What does that mean for the crease moving forward, and how tight is Edmonton's margin for error right now?NHL insider David Pagnotta joins the show to share the latest rumblings from around the league, including what to watch with the roster freeze approaching and whether any moves could still be on the horizon for the Oilers. To wrap things up, the boys run through what was trending around the sports world over the weekend and lock in their daily bets courtesy of bet365.Website: https://oilersnation.com/https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!
The Edmonton Oilers' win steak ends at three games after dropping a 7-3 decision to the Minnesota Wild at home. Tom Gazzola is joined by former NHLer Matt Kassian and EST's Reid Wilkins to break down the game. What set the Oilers behind? Do the Oilers need to address their defence? How bad was the night for Tristan Jarry really? We summarize the contest, noting the important moments from either side, while going up and down the lineup of the Oilers and Wild. Are the Wild simply just a better team than the Oilers, sweeping Edmonton 3-0 this regular season? What's the biggest thing the Oilers are missing this year? Gazzola and Kass dive into it. Reid Wilkins connects with Tommy to give his two cents, dissecting the turnovers, misplays and missed chances for the Oilers as they head into the final game of their homestand Tuesday against the Toronto Maple Leadfs.
On today's episode of The Oil Stream, Dusty and Tommy take a deep dive into the Oilers' goaltending. Is it actually better — or is it worse? According to the numbers, it may not be the upgrade many think it is. The fellas break down the stats, the eye test, and what it all really means moving forward. They'll also briefly touch on the Oilers' last game, including Mattias Ekholm and the Oilers making history, before looking ahead to tomorrow night as Edmonton welcomes the San Jose Sharks. And extension rumours have emerged regarding Jack Roslovic. Would that be the right play to extend him? How long of a contract should he get if he does? How has he fit with the Oilers so far this season? All that and more on today's edition of The Oil Stream. The Oil Stream is presented by Boston Pizza!
No Oilers game to recap or preview, but still plenty of sports talk coming your way this fine Wednesday morning! We start the show recapping yesterday's action in the NHL and elsewhere. We tee'd up this weekends Funspiel, YTT went to the doctors and Dusty teased the nasties about something he will do for the first time in his life… More on this later in the hour. After the first break, we heard another Dusty, YTT original. This was called 'The Watch' in honour of YouTube Trev's first ever watch he got last week. To cap off hour two, we talked some Oilers. Is Stuart Skinner better than Jarry? And Dusty announced he will be calling his first NHL game in Calgary with Noodles. This was for MMMMMM That's Good presented by The Italian Centre Shop.
Jamie McLennan was the first guest on today's show. Dusty and Noodles touched on their first game they'll be calling together in Calgary on March 5th. We then got his thoughts on the Oilers goaltending situation, and whether or not Skinner is in fact better than Jarry. It's speculated that Roslovic is being rumoured to sign around 4 years in Edmonton… Noodles touched on this and finished with his thoughts on what the heck is going on in Toronto. It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day. After the break we got into Free Advice for Damon Bunting. As always, lots of good advice from the boys today. We haven't spoke with this guy in a while. Dave Naylor stopped by to finish off hour two with all the latest news in the NFL and his thoughts on the Bills getting bounced just over a week ago.
The Oilers beat the Ducks 7-4! Tom Gazzola, Ben Thomson, Matt Kassian & Reid Wilkins breaks this game down as Mattias Ekholm gets his first career hat-trick! The first time in NHL history that a team has back to back hat-tricks from defenseman! How was Jarry tonight? What do the Oilers need to work on? All of this discussion and so much more on this edition of The GCL Diesel Oil Stream Postgame Show here on Edmonton Sports Talk!
Tyler and Liam are back to break down the Oilers' wild 7–4 win over their Pacific Division rivals, the Anaheim Ducks, in a game where the blue line completely took over. Edmonton's offense came almost entirely from the defence on Monday night, as Oilers defencemen accounted for six of the team's seven goals in a truly unbelievable performance.Mattias Ekholm led the way with the first hat trick of his NHL career, capping off a dominant night that also made history. With Ekholm's three-goal performance coming one game after Evan Bouchard recorded a hat trick of his own, the Oilers became the first team in NHL history to have teammate defencemen record hat tricks in consecutive games. Tyler and Liam recap the chaotic second period, which saw four goals in just a 3:49 stretch, and discuss how rare — and ridiculous — that sequence really was.The boys also break down Tristan Jarry's night in the crease, as he stopped 36 of 40 shots and made several key saves to keep the Oilers in control during some pushback from Anaheim. They'll discuss what this performance says about Jarry's role moving forward and how the goaltending situation is shaping up during the current homestand.Oilersnation News Director Zach Laing joins the show to share his thoughts on Edmonton's play at home, the momentum they're building, and what he believes the team should prioritize as the trade deadline approaches. Later on, Daily Faceoff contributor Matt Larkin stops by to run through his latest trade board, highlighting which names could realistically be available and how the Oilers might fit into the deadline market. The episode wraps up with What's Trending around the NHL and the world of sports, before finishing with the daily betting picks for bet365.Website: https://oilersnation.com/https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!
It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to massage your eardrums with an hour of off-season Oilers talk. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed the Oilers' loss to the Islanders, the end of Connor McDavid's point streak, Edmonton's goaltending dilemma, line combos, and more.We kicked off the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether or not the Oilers are blowing their January homestand. Given that they've lost twice as many home games as they've won, it's hard not to think that Edmonton is dropping the ball on a golden opportunity to make up some ground in the standings. Shifting gears, the guys looked at last night's loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins and wondered how much of that loss the boys hung on Tristan Jarry, given that he allowed six goals on the night. While no one is saying Jarry was very good, the reality is that the skaters in front of him were just as bad, if not worse. We also discussed Leon Draisaitl's return to the lineup, and how it was a valiant effort by Drai, considering the heavy week he had and the long travel back from Germany. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week that was. With the 2025-26 season stretch drive well underway, the guys spent the bulk of the podcast moving through a range of topics, some related to the Oilers and others not, but that's the way things go on the Friday episode of ONR. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The Oilers were asleep to start the game against the Penguins. Tom Gazzola, Ben Thomson, Matt Kassian & Reid Wilkins break this one down as the Penguins score the quickest 3 goals against the Oilers in Edmonton's history. How much blame goes to Jarry? What's wrong with the Oilers puck play? Are the Oilers in trouble in the Pacific Division? All of this discussion and so much more on this edition of The GCL Diesel Oil Stream Postgame Show here on Edmonton Sports Talk!
Jamie McLennan was the first guest on today's show! He joined from Nashville, and gave us a pretty hilarious story of his younger days in Nashville. We then dove into tonight's game and touched on how beneficial the trade for both Jarry and Skinner has been. Noodles gave us some insight on the Penguins so far this season. We had to touch on the brilliance of Sidney Crosby as he's still chugging along. It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day. We then got into I Got Beef in the middle of the hour. What are the boys beefing about today? Reid Wilkins capped off hour two with some thoughts on last night, his beef, and of course some Oilers talk.
The Oilers fail to beat Jake more than once as the Oilers lose to the Devils 2-1. Tom Gazzola, Ben Thomson, Joaquin Gage & Reid Wilkins break this one down as the Oilers were too little too late to make a comeback. How was Jarry tonight? Did the Oilers deserve to win? What was Nurse thinking on that 2nd goal? All of this discussed and so much more on this edition of The GCL Diesel Oil Stream Postgame Show here on Edmonton Sports Talk!
The Edmonton Oilers came up short once again in their search for a three-game win streak, falling 2–1 to the New Jersey Devils at Rogers Place on Wednesday night. Tyler and Liam break down the loss as Edmonton failed to win three straight for the ninth time this season, despite having a chance to keep momentum rolling after back-to-back shutouts over the weekend. The Oilers dressed an 11/7 lineup without Leon Draisaitl and Kasperi Kapanen, and spent much of the game undermanned after Vasily Podkolzin picked up 17 penalty minutes following his fight with Johnathan Kovacevic. Those penalty issues and lineup adjustments played a major role in how the game unfolded, and the boys dive into whether Edmonton did enough offensively to earn two points.Tristan Jarry got the start in goal for Edmonton and gave the Oilers a chance to win, stopping 15 of 17 shots for an .882 save percentage. Tyler and Liam break down Jarry's performance, the goals against, and where the Oilers' crease stands as the season continues to grind forward.Later in the show, Jeff Marek joins to discuss recent injuries around the NHL that could open the door for Olympic injury replacements, the current state of the Oilers' goaltending situation, and what he believes is Edmonton's biggest need heading toward the trade deadline. To wrap things up, the boys go through what's trending around the sports world and hand out their daily betting picks, courtesy of bet365.Website: https://oilersnation.com/https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!

Chris Johnston was the first guest on today's show. He started off with an update on the Olympic arena… what the heck is going on?! Then we got into all the latest on the Oilers front. He gave his thoughts on the Oilers goaltending situation, Ingram or Jarry, who you picking? He then touched on the brilliance on Connor McDavid and shared why he thinks he's the front runner of the hart. He finished with all the latest on Brayden Point and whether or not he'll be good to go in Milan. It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day. Mike Garafolo was our next guest and he came by to address all the latest on the coaching front in the NFL as there was some change. He then gave a preview to the four games this weekend. This brought us to the end of the hour.
It's been another wild week around here with the Oilers rollercoaster making another loop, and I've got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready to recap it all. On today's podcast, I talked about Connor McDavid' heater, Tristan Jarry's return, Jake Walman, and much more.I kicked off this week's episode with a look at the heaters that are happening throughout the Oilers' lineup right now, and while Connor McDavid is understandably getting all of the attention, there are a couple of other guys who are nearly as hot as the captain. From there, I offered the latest updates on Trent Frederic and Andrew Mangiapane after both guys returned to the lineup this past week, following some well-deserved time in the press box. Finally, I tried to figure out what to expect from Edmonton's goaltending situation after Tristan Jarry returned to the crease Tuesday night in Nashville. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a Righteous Sack Beating about windrows, then closed out the podcast with another round of voicemails. The voicemail was alive this week, and everyone's takes were all over the map and very fun for me to listen to. The voicemail is the best way to wrap up the show and give everyone a chance to share their thoughts. Another hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to this week's episode. Having all of you in the mix makes the show so much better.Want to leave a voicemail for next week's show? Do it here!
The Oilers lose to the Predators in OT by the score of 4-3. Tom Gazzola, Ben Thomson & Shawn Belle break this game down as we see the Oilers fail to convert in OT. How did Jarry look? How did Mangiapane play? Knoblauch making some bad coaching decisions? All of this discussion and so much more on this edition of The GCL Diesel Oil Stream Postgame Show here on Edmonton Sports Talk!
Jamie McLennan was the first guest on today's show. He gave his initial thoughts on last night's game starting with Jarry and the eventual OT winner. This then led to plenty of Oilers goalie discussion. We then touched on Jake Walman returning to the Oilers lineup last night, the Maple Leafs turning things around and how important goaltending is in today's NHL. It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day. After the break we got right into Free Advice for Damon Bunting! Today, the nasties were giving Dusty advice on what to order from Popeyes after winning his bet against Tommy and Hernan! Like always, Eric Macramalla capped off hour two with the same old shenanigans.
The Edmonton Oilers fell 4–3 in overtime to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night, snapping their strong recent run against the Preds. Tyler and Liam break down everything that happened in a physical, high-event game that was intense right from the opening faceoff.Darnell Nurse and Michael McCarron dropped the gloves immediately to set the tone, while Zach Hyman continued his strong play with two goals to keep Edmonton in it. Tristan Jarry made his return from injury after nearly a month on the shelf and gradually found his rhythm as the game went on. However, the night ultimately came down to overtime, where Jarry's decision to play the puck outside his crease led to Roman Josi scoring the game-winner.The boys break down the final play in depth and open it up to the chat in the Moment of the Game segment to debate whether it was the right decision. Plus, Steven Ellis from Daily Faceoff joins the show to discuss the race at the bottom of the NHL standings and provide updates on some of the top prospects around the hockey world. To wrap things up, the show runs through what's trending across the NHL and the sports world and hands out daily bets courtesy of bet365.Website: https://oilersnation.com/https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!

Let's do this! The Cult of Hockey podcast by the Faithful and for the Faithful! Tonight David Staples of the Edmonton Journal digs into the Edmonton Oilers' 3-1 win over the Bruins of Boston.
It's Tuesday afternoon, and there's a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio set, which means the boys were back in the studio to recap the week that was. On today's episode, the guys discussed the Oilers' Tuesday's matchup vs. the Penguins, Tristan Jarry vs. Stuart Skinner, Baggedmilk's Trivia, and much more.We kicked off the Tuesday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether everyone is making too big a deal about the Oilers taking on the Penguins for the first time after the Skinner/Jarry trade. Given the magnitude of Friday's trade and the fact that the two teams are playing so quickly, it's easy to understand why the media and fans are so interested, even if we're only talking about a regular season game in mid-December. Changing gears, we looked at Tristan Jarry's Oilers debut against the Maple Leafs and how he was more than adequate despite arriving with the team just over 24 hours earlier. We also walked through some of Stuart Skinner's quotes from this morning after practice, and how it definitely seems like a trade was needed for both sides. Not to be left out, the fellas also spent a few minutes giving Brett Kulak his flowers after being a fantastic Oiler for the four years he was here. Regardless of the situation, Brett Kulak was a wonderful player for the organization and everyone on the podcast was sad to see him go. Finally, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Baggedmilk's Trivia, including some Oilers vs. Penguins-specific questions ahead of Tuesday's game. If you listened to previous editions of BM's trivia, you'll know that Baggedmilk has been way off on some of the questions, which keeps Liam in the role of trivia marshal and auditor. Did Baggedmilk get his questions right? You'll have to listen to find out for sure.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!Powered by @bet365. Whatever the moment, it's Never Ordinary at bet365. Dr. Jay Calvert & Dr. Jason Berkley discuss a few trades thus far in 2025 - Quinn Hughes heads to the Wild, Jarry vs Skinner goalie swap, why Vancouver is so bad, plus will Crosby chase another cup elsewhere? Will McDavid?See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Frazer, Joe, and Andy discuss the 2 huge trades Quinn Hughes to Wild, Jarry for Skinner, Penguins epic weekend from hell, Olympic rink update, and more.
A rough Monday night raised player-safety and Olympic concerns, starting with Brandon Hagel’s injury from a forearm to the head by Seth Jones—a play that drew no supplemental discipline, frustrating Tampa Bay and leaving Ray concerned about the message it sends and future tensions. In Dallas, Team Canada hopeful Darcy Kuemper exited after being clipped by Mikko Rantanen in what most saw as a hockey play with an unfortunate result. Vancouver stunned the league by trading Quinn Hughes to Minnesota in a rare in-season blockbuster, choosing the youngest package—effectively four first-round assets—signalling a clear youth-driven re-tool and prompting a subtle jab from Hughes toward New Jersey. Edmonton also made waves, moving Stuart Skinner and Brett Kulak to Pittsburgh for Tristan Jarry, change for change sake perhaps, as Ray doesn't feel this provides real stability in goal, though Jarry has improved since time in the minors. Finally, Toronto remains a puzzle: sloppy play and an inability to handle pace—exposed again against an all-world Connor McDavid—highlight the Leafs’ need for a scoring winger amid tight cap constraints and asset management. Plus, in Ask Ray & Dregs Anything: the Hughes haul, Central Division predictions and more!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Quinn Hughes saga is over, and once again he is not joining the Detroit Red Wings. On a happier note, we open by recapping Detroit's last two games of their road trip, including a tough loss to an unreal Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers (including Simon Edvinsson scoring after suiting up unexpectedly) (5:20), before jumping into the Red Wings and their dominant win over the Connor Bedard-less Chicago Blackhawks, including Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat putting on a show, Emmitt Finnie benefitting from Axel Sandin-Pellikka's offensive moves, another John Gibson shutout, and lots more (8:45). After that, a discussion on DeBrincat's star season as he's been on fire alongside "Showtime" Patrick Kane and Andrew Copp, providing strong scoring support behind Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond on the 1st line, as well as John Gibson's recent strong streak over the past 5 games, what it could mean for the Detroit Red Wings and their playoff chances, the upcoming month of December, & plenty more (15:50). Next, Quinn Hughes being traded to the Minnesota wild for Marco Rossi, Liam Ohgren, a 2026 1st round pick, and Zeev Buium: our analysis on the deal, the risk Bill Guerin is taking, how Jim Rutherford did compared to expectations, Steve Yzerman and the Detroit Red Wings missing out on adding Quinn Hughes to Moritz Seider's side, what the equivalent deal may have been, and whether it would've been worth giving up Simon Edvinsson, Nate Danielson or Marco Kasper, Carter Bear, and maybe more in the trade (28:15). Finally, our thoughts on the Skinner for Jarry trade in Edmonton, and how this affects McDavid & Draisaitl's Cup chances (57:25). All of that & lots more before we take your questions and comments in our Overtime segment (1:07:15) - enjoy!
