Journalist, podcast host, comics author, and all around movie enthusiast Rosie Knight has brought something rare to the table: a movie that was brand new to Jordan! From 1976, it's kind of a horror, it's kind of a slice of life, and it's totally unlike anything else you've seen. Starring a 14-year-old Jodie Foster and a deeply creepy Martin Sheen, it's THE LITTLE GIRL WHO LIVES DOWN THE LANE! Then Jordan has two quick things -- one about our show, and another about the late, inimitable Tim Curry. Chef Dean Harrison has spent 14 of his 22 years as a chef cooking on superyachts — from a 100-footer that rode out a cyclone in the South Pacific to a 280-footer spending $50,000 a week on provisions. This episode is for anyone who's ever wondered what's actually on the other side of the "yacht life" fantasy, and for any chef weighing whether a different version of this career exists.Register for the free monthly Culinary Leadership Lab @ https://thecheflifebrigade.com/thelab"You need to leave that ego in the restaurant. But honestly, if you can do that, you're going to be a successful yacht chef."The Job Nobody Warns You AboutDean's first yacht job was a six-day crossing from Brisbane to Fiji — and it put him inside the eye of a cyclone for the entire trip. Two sailors racing in the same storm system died and fell overboard. The boat's stabilizers failed, the hydraulics overheated, and the captain hand-steered for 48 hours while the hull rolled hard enough that Dean kept a mask and snorkel by his bed, working out which doors he'd swim through if the boat flipped. That's not the version of yacht life that makes it into the brochure, or the reality show. And it's the story Dean leads with now — not the biggest boat he's worked on, not the fanciest guest — because it's the truest one.Why YachtsTwenty-two years ago, Dean started his apprenticeship at 15 in what he calls "the Gordon Ramsay era" — yelling, getting burned, abusive kitchen culture treated as normal. He wasn't chasing Michelin stars. He was looking for a version of this career that let him travel, get paid what he was worth, and keep his sanity intact. Yachting checked every box he didn't know he was allowed to want. What "Below Deck" Doesn't Show YouOn a superyacht, roughly 70% of the boat belongs to guests — the flowers, the leather, the finishes. The other 30% is crew country: bunk beds, shared cabins, thinner carpet, harsher lighting. You can feel exactly where you cross that threshold. It's not exploitation, Dean is clear — it's just the part nobody photographs. The economics on the guest side are almost absurd by comparison. A week charter on his last boat ran $1.2 million. The chef's food budget alone was $50,000 a week — not because guests eat that much, but because you're provisioning for anything they might ask for, at any hour, with no grocery store to run to mid-ocean. Tips ran $4,000–$8,000 a week per crew member. Which is how you end up getting woken at 3am to make chicken fingers, and being genuinely fine with it.The Village That Gave Him a FreezerThe two places Dean says actually changed him weren't the biggest boats — they were Alaska and Raja Ampat, Indonesia. In Vanuatu, his yacht stopped at a remote village the owners had given solar panels the year before. Dean asked the chief's son the reflexive question — "what do you do for a living?" — and got looked at like it didn't compute."I fish, I grow my vegetables, and I live," the man told him. "I smoke a bit of weed." In the year since the solar panels arrived, the village had built a small economy around freezing fish to sell in town. Dean's takeaway wasn't a lesson about simplicity — it was a correction to the assumption that wealthy people are careless with what they have. He's met, in his words, some of the most generous people he'll ever know, on boats most people will never set foot on.What It Actually CostsThe entry price is almost nothing — an STCW safety course and a basic medical exam run about $1,300 total. The real cost shows up later: missed weddings, relationships that don't survive the distance, and years living in shared cabins with people you didn't choose. Dean calls himself lucky — he started young, with no baggage — but he's honest that the mental toll compounds, especially for anyone who isn't naturally good with people in tight quarters. His one non-negotiable: coffee on deck every morning, watching the sunrise, before the day starts. And a rule he wishes he'd learned faster — know when to leave. "This is bullshit. I don't feel happy waking up every day. I leave," is how he puts it now, after staying on boats longer than he should have more than once in 14 years.Eight Years to Feel Like a Real ChefDespite steady work on increasingly high-end boats, it took Dean about eight years to fully trust that he belonged — that he could walk onto any yacht, read what the guests actually wanted, and deliver it. Now running a coaching program and recruitment agency for yacht chefs, he says the imposter syndrome is gone, not because he became perfect, but because he can see exactly where he went wrong and hand newer chefs a shortcut around it.The One Thing That Still Worries HimNot the storms. Not the isolation. The mental toll of chefs sacrificing themselves for people who, in his words, "couldn't care less if you stay or leave" and "forget about you within a year." Three or four burnouts into his own career, it's the part of the industry he's most focused on changing — both through his coaching and by pushing owners and agencies to actually pay chefs what they're worth.Big appreciation to everyone building something real out of an industry that doesn't always make it easy — this conversation is for anyone quietly wondering if there's a different way to build this career.Chapters00:00 — Cold Open — The Hallway Where the Yacht Changes02:04 — Almost Dying in a Cyclone Crossing the South Pacific06:13 — Welcome, Chef Dean Harrison06:35 — Why Yachts? This week on Riff Worship, we dive deep into the making, history, and sonic evolution of Kylesa's seminal 2009 masterpiece, Static Tensions! From their roots in Savannah's pioneering crust-punk band Damad to their rise as titans of psychedelic sludge, Kylesa's story is defined by resilience, reinvention, and sheer heaviness. In this episode, we explore:The early days of co-founders Phillip Cope and Laura Pleasants, navigating the tragic loss of founding bassist Brian Duke, and how their DIY origins built their signature sound. How Carl McGinley and Eric Hernandez unlocked Kylesa's legendary double-drum assault—plus the hard-panned recording magic crafted at Jam Room Studios.Rehearsing under The Jinx (and drawing noise complaints from Paula Deen's restaurant), capturing a real Southern rainstorm for "Nature's Predators," and the surprising tonal influence of The Cult's Love. The story behind the iconic artwork hand-painted by Baroness's John Dyer Baizley and session bass work from Javier Villegas (Born Against, Cattle Press).A detailed analysis of classics like "Scapegoat," "Running Red," "Unknown Awareness," and the frantic "Insomnia for Months!”Recommendations:Kylesa - Time Will Fuse Its Worth (20th Anniversary Limited Edition)Iron Monkey - Our ProblemCove - CoveCADY - Limitations of the Human FormCapsule - FeroxGojira - From Mars to SiriusCorrosion of Conformity - AnimosityKrallice - Scour OrderFollow Riff WorshipInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/riffworshippod/Twitter: https://x.com/RiffWorshipPodYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@RiffWorshipPodCheck out our Official Playlists:Riffs on Repeat (Spotify)Riffs on Repeat (YouTube Music)Hits from the Crypt (Apple)

A 28-year-old female teacher. Multiple teenage boys. And a case that forces us to confront one uncomfortable question: Why is society so much slower to recognize abuse when the predator is a woman and the victim is a teenage boy? In this episode, we examine the case of Rebecca Joynes, a former teacher convicted of sexually abusing teenage students she was entrusted to protect. We break down the evidence presented in court, the grooming behaviors that allowed the abuse to continue, the lasting impact on the boys at the center of the case, and the psychological dynamics that make female sexual offending uniquely misunderstood. This episode also explores the societal double standards that can prevent male victims from being recognized, believed, and supported. Please Follow/Subscribe wherever you are listening! Now on YouTube! Sarah Kellen (also known as Sarah Vickers or Sarah Kensington) is widely described as one of the key assistants to Jeffrey Epstein during the 2000s — a role in which she allegedly managed and coordinated many of the logistical and operational elements of Epstein's sex-trafficking network. Court records, witness statements, and investigative reporting claim that Kellen was responsible for arranging “massages” (in many cases euphemisms for sexual encounters), scheduling flights on Epstein's private jets, keeping contact lists of girls, and effectively acting as a gatekeeper for victims who were transported to various propertiesDespite her deep involvement, Kellen has never faced criminal charges. Federal judges and prosecutors have described her as a “knowing participant” and a “criminally responsible” figure in Epstein's network, yet she remains free — claiming she was also a victim of Epstein's control. Many survivors reject that narrative, arguing that she had full agency and willingly helped enable the abuse of minors. Her story underscores a broader truth about the Epstein case: that key facilitators, assistants, and coordinators — often women — operated the machinery of exploitation with precision, and most have evaded accountability under the guise of victimhood.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.

Spring Cleaning – Nashville PredatorsThe Nashville Predators entered the 2025-26 season with limited expectations after their expensive veteran roster collapsed the year before. Although Nashville recovered from another poor start and remained in the Western Conference playoff race until the final weeks, a late-season stumble ultimately ended its postseason hopes. Neil Smith and Vic Morren examine the Predators' uneven progress, the encouraging production from several core players, and the major organizational decisions ahead as Nashville prepares to transition from Barry Trotz to a new general manager.IN THIS EPISODE:[00:00:00] The Nashville Predators are eliminated from playoff contention on April 13 after entering the season with relatively low expectations. Neil and Vic revisit the disappointing 2024-25 campaign that followed the high-profile additions of Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault, and Brady Skjei.[00:00:45] Neil explains why Nashville made few major changes during the summer of 2025. Barry Trotz appeared committed to allowing the veteran roster another opportunity while continuing to rebuild the organization's prospect pool and future assets.[00:01:00] The Predators begin the season 6-12-4, leading to growing pressure on head coach Andrew Brunette. After an 8-3 home loss to Florida, questions emerge about Brunette's future and whether veterans such as Stamkos or Ryan O'Reilly could be traded.[00:01:30] Nashville responds with a strong 28-16-5 stretch over its next 49 games. A five-game winning streak culminates with a victory over San Jose on March 24, giving the Predators a three-point lead over Los Angeles for the final Western Conference Wild Card position.[00:02:00] The playoff push falls apart during the final weeks as Nashville finishes 4-6-1 over its last 11 games. Neil and Vic discuss how the Predators remained competitive with Los Angeles but ultimately surrendered the final postseason spot to the Kings.[00:03:00] Steven Stamkos and Filip Forsberg each reach the 40-goal mark, while Ryan O'Reilly improves from 53 to 74 points. Luke Evangelista finishes fourth on the team with 56 points, and rookie Matthew Wood contributes 17 goals during an encouraging first NHL season.[00:03:30] The panel also examines several disappointing performances. Jonathan Marchessault falls from 56 points to 31, while Fedor Svechkov records only 17 points for the second consecutive season despite appearing in 18 more games.[00:04:00] Attention turns to Nashville's front-office uncertainty. Barry Trotz has not yet been replaced as general manager, although several candidates have been connected to the position, including former New Jersey Devils executive Tom Fitzgerald.[00:04:30] Neil expects the Predators to have a new general manager in place before the 2026 NHL Draft. That executive will inherit significant flexibility and the opportunity to establish a new direction for the organization.[00:05:00] Nashville enters the draft with 12 selections, tied for the most in the NHL. The Predators own multiple picks in the second, third, fourth, and fifth rounds, giving the incoming management team an unusually large collection of assets to use or trade.[00:05:30] The Predators project to have approximately $7.2 million in salary cap space. Their unrestricted free agents include Eric Haula and Tyson Jost, while defenseman Justin Barron is the organization's most significant restricted free agent.[00:06:00] Most of Nashville's veteran core remains under contract beyond next season, including captain Roman Josi. That stability gives the next general manager an opportunity to keep the roster largely intact while adding younger and more productive supporting pieces.[00:06:30] The episode concludes with Neil stressing that Nashville can no longer rely almost entirely on Stamkos and Forsberg to carry the offense. The Predators must develop more young players and create greater scoring depth if they expect to return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Today, we tackle a story gripping headlines and shaking the political world. Graham Platner—a name now synonymous with scandal, denial, and convenient ignorance. The temptation? To ignore the warning signs. To protect power instead of people. To excuse sin when it serves our side. But we're not here to excuse. We're here to expose the bigger disease: a society that prizes winning over righteousness, victory over virtue. Yes, the cost is real—criticism, outrage, even loss. But Jesus is still King, even when “convenient ignorance” rules the day.The question is simple. When your moment of truth arrives—will you stay silent, or stand up?"Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out." –Proverbs 10:9Episode Highlights19:00 - As followers of Jesus Christ, we don't have the luxury of living by the world's standard of convenient ignorance. We're called to something more, much higher. We're called to pursue truth even when it's uncomfortable. We're called to protect the vulnerable even when it's unpopular. We're called to confront sin even when it costs us something.32:02 - At the end of our lives, I don't believe the Lord is going to ask whether speaking the truth was politically convenient. I believe he'll ask whether we were faithful. And in my opinion, that's a question that every one of us should be preparing to answer today. Not someday, not next month. Today.39:34 - If there's one lesson I hope that every Christian walks away with from today's episode of the C Suite for Christ podcast, it's this: Stop fearing people more than you fear God... That's the root of so many compromises that we see today. People stay silent because they're afraid... but Scripture repeatedly reminds us to reverse that way of thinking. Connect with Paul M. ⚠️ CONTENT WARNING: This episode contains discussions of serious topics, including online child exploitation, grooming, and extremist networks. Listener discretion is advised, especially if children are nearby. Episode Summary In this heavy but critically important episode of Talk Law Radio, host Todd Marquardt exposes a chilling new breed of online threat facing our families. We dive deep into the recent federal sentencing of Alexis Aldair Chavez, a San Antonio-based leader of a Nihilistic Violent Extremist (NVE) network known as "8884" (a subsidiary of the "764" criminal enterprise). Sentenced to 40 years in federal prison, Chavez’s case reveals how decentralized, nihilistic groups are actively using social media, gaming apps, and messaging platforms to target and terrorize vulnerable teenagers. Todd breaks down the legal mechanics of this prosecution, explaining how the federal government is weaponizing the RICO Act—originally designed to take down the mafia—to dismantle digital cyber-enterprises. To show how easily everyday people can find themselves entangled in online networks, Todd also shares a warning hypothetical about a side-hustle community on social media that crosses the line into a fraudulent, RICO-eligible enterprise. Earlier in the show, we shift gears to focus on financial security. Todd sits down with Steve Warren of Financial Planning HQ to discuss the concept of a "financial flight plan" and why having a dedicated "Financial CEO" can keep your lifetime financial strategy anchored and on track. Key Takeaways & Highlights The Threat of Nihilistic Violent Extremist (NVE) Networks: Understand the rise of decentralized online groups like the 764 Enterprise. Driven by nihilism—the rejection of moral and traditional values—these groups seek to sow social instability by targeting minors where they play and hang out online (TikTok, Telegram, Discord, and gaming lobbies). How Predators Groom and Blackmail Kids: Learn the playbook used by these digital predators. It starts with minor, seemingly harmless online requests to build rapport. Once they secure any private content, they use ruthless extortion and blackmail to force victims into compliance. Modern RICO Applications: Discover how prosecutors are creatively applying the RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) statute to the digital age, establishing that online communities and internet communication satisfy the legal requirements for "interstate commerce" and "criminal enterprises". Actionable Parent & Caregiver Tips: Be Active and Engaged: Regularly ask your children who they are talking to online and sit with them while they play video games or send messages. Watch for Warnings: Keep a close eye on behavioral shifts and recognize warning signs of online grooming. Report Immediately: If you suspect anything, use resources like the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), call 1-800-CALL-FBI, or contact Project Safe Childhood. The "Financial Flight Plan" (With Steve Warren): Why your financial goals need a name, a date, and an exact funding requirement—and how a flat-fee "Financial CEO" keeps your team of experts (attorneys, CPAs, planners) working in sync.
