We couldn't get a hold of our dear friend Craig Button… But Ryan Rishaug was able to join instead! He gave his thoughts on last night's game, touched on Knoblauch tinkering with the lines very early on. He then gave his thoughts on how big the gap is between the two teams. Ryan finished with what's at the top of the to do list for management this offseason.   After Rishaug, it was time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day. Hockey's over, so this one is all Blue Jays.   We then gave some Free Advice for Damon Bunting near the end of the second hour. Plenty of great advice today.   Eric Macramalla capped off the second hour. He shared some thoughts on the tax advantage down south, then touched on how great the Florida Panthers actually are. Macramalla then gave his thoughts on Ekblad's PED use and whether or not he should have been playing in these playoffs. We finished by discussing whether or not this Panthers team is a modern dynasty.

From Matthew Tkachuk talking about the experience of having a chance to win the Stanley Cup at home to Connor McDavid discussing, and disagreeing, with the pressure he's under, this episode covers all the storylines in advance of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.  Dan and Shawn start by talking about how the Panthers put themselves on the verge of winning their second straight Stanley Cup championship. That leads the conversation to what's at stake in Game 6, the discussion goes to McDavid and if he's under the most pressure right now. Roarke disagrees, because he doesn't think McDavid's legacy will be defined by championships won. Rosen thinks part of his legacy will be defined by winning a Stanley Cup. McDavid weighs in on the pressure too followed by Tkachuk discussing what it will be like to go up against a desperate McDavid in Game 6. They also talk about the Oilers' comeback ability, with Edmonton coach Kris Knoblauch discussing the team's resiliency, where it has shown up this postseason and why. Before putting a bow on the Stanley Cup Final talk, Rosen and Roarke talk about Edmonton's goaltending situation, the fact that Knoblauch hasn't yet announced if the Oilers starting goalie in Game 6 will be Stuart Skinner or Calvin Pickard.  Finally, they talk about the Olympic announcements that came out Monday, with all 12 competing nations in the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 in February announcing the first six players to their rosters. Neither the United States nor Canada named a goalie. Is that a surprise or was it expected? And which underrated national team should we all be watching come February?

Friday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded, edited, and is set to massage your ear feelings. On this week's podcast, the guys discussed what needs to happen in Game 3 defensively, Wednesday's loss to the L.A. Kings, and much more. The boys started the Friday podcast with a delicious debate about the Oilers' defensive game and what specifically needs to improve for the team to avoid the chaos that's been happening in their zone through two games. Whether it's better decisions with the puck, supporting each other as passing options, or throwing the puck up the middle of the ice, there are countless ways Edmonton can improve in their zone that should lead to better results. The guys continued the conversation about Game 3 with a look at Calvin Pickard getting the start in favour of Stuart Skinner, and gave takes on whether this was the right decision by Knoblauch. Given that Skinner has allowed 11 goals on 58 shots through the first two games, it wasn't exactly surprising to see the goalie swap for Friday night, but the move is also not without risks. The other angle is that Calvin Pickard played well down the stretch and probably earned an opportunity to get back in the crease. From there, the discussion turned to the opposite end of the ice and what the Oilers need to do to generate more offence than we're seeing. Starting with getting more pucks on net, the Oilers really need to simplify their game and start doing more to make life uncomfortable for Darcy Kuemper. We also discussed the need for more bodies to the crease to fish for secondary chances and greasy playoff-like goals. Much like on the defensive side of the puck, there is a lot of room to improve. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week. Even though the team is down 0-2 in the first round, the ONR squad felt positive despite the circumstances.

It's game day for the Edmonton Oilers with the New York Islanders in town, which meant there was plenty to talk about on the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio. On today's podcast, we looked at the Oilers' 7-3 win over the Canucks, what to expect from the New York Islanders, Brett Kulak's strong start, and more.We started the Tuesday podcast episode by discussing which team we enjoy watching the Oilers beat the most and why. Whether it's laughing at Canucks fans because of how annoying the fanbase can be or Toronto for the way they think they're better than everyone else, it was fun to try and figure out which team is the most annoying. Flipping the question, are there any teams that the boys don't mind losing to?Moving along, we looked back at the anniversary of Jay Woodcroft being fired and Kris Knoblauch coming in. Seeing as the boys were in Seattle on a Nation Vacation when Woodcroft was fired, everyone gave their take on what life's been like in the year since that coaching change. Back to the current team, the boys also spent some time talking about Evan Bouchard's struggles and how Oilers fans are looking for a whole lot more from their first pairing defenceman. Finally, the squad wrapped up the Tuesday podcast with some betting talk, keys to victory for beating the Islanders, and offered up a score prediction ahead of tonight's game at Rogers Place. Given that the Oilers and Islanders are both working through varying struggles, their first of two meetings on the season could be a low scoring affair. That said, this game could also be one where the special teams play a major factor given that both sides are struggling on both the PP and the PK.
