Welcome back to the podcast after another semester AND summer! As you probably noticed, there has been a shift in the podcast name and cover. This simply came from a desire to better reflect a missional way of living and a life that praises the Lord for all of our days - a RADICAL SHIFT from who we were before encountering Jesus! In today's episode, I got to sit down with my friends Madison, Emma, and Anna, who were fellow interns with me over this summer in NYC and quickly became some of my best friends. We talk about what we did during our internship, the great commission, if all Christians are called to missions, abiding, identity, and next steps! Another big lesson from the last semester! If you feel overwhelmed with everything on your plate, or unequipped for what God has called you to do, this is for you. What does it mean to live as a threat to Satan? Does Satan attack us at certain times, in certain areas, or in specific places? What do we do that Satan delights in? Today, we are talking about following Jesus and the spiritual warfare going on for our attention, our love, and our souls. We all have felt anxiousness and uneasiness, especially this year. The question is, what are those feelings truly rooted in? This has been a huge lesson for me over the last semester, and it is one that I am excited to share with y'all. Let's talk about humility, caring about what other people think, where our focus is, and how we can find freedom and peace! This is not a "diagnosis" for clinical anxiety or depression. It is simply a look into our hearts to discover if we are dealing with unnecessary anxiousness due to our focus! In this episode, I use Paul and Jesus as examples of gospel-centered humility. LETS HAVE A HEART TO HEART CHAT ABOUT BEING SINGLE Singleness can be frustrating and hard, but we can absolutely thrive in the middle of it. Today we are talking about learning to love our singleness and use it for the best as we trust the Lord's timing and prepare for a future marriage! A lot of the advice is pulled from books by Elisabeth Elliot, one of my favorite authors. I highly recommend all of the books below. These have been huge in shaping my mindset on singleness, loneliness, dating, and marriage! Passion and Purity by Elisabeth Elliot Quest for Love by Elisabeth Elliot Loneliness by Elisabeth Elliot
What is my purpose in life? To know Him and make Him known. Today we are talking about the gospel of Jesus Christ and how the truth of the gospel infuses our lives with purpose.
Y'all, this conversation with Tanner is pure gold. Tanner is so full of wisdom and love for the Lord, and today we are talking all about her journey in chasing freedom from diet culture and worshiping our bodies. If you are a girl who focuses a little too much on what you are eating, this is for you. If diet culture has affected the way you see yourself, this is for you. If your social life and mental health are suffering because of a focus on your body, this is for you. Women of all ages, this one is for you. Let's chase freedom in this! In part 2 of our much needed discussion on shame, we are talking about the SOLUTION. Sara and I dive into exactly why there is no "quick fix" for shame, but there is a solution, and it's a spiritual one. Maybe you've asked yourself if Jesus actually understands your shame. Join us as we look at the cross and the shame that Jesus endured. Not only does identifying with Jesus in our shame take us to a place of honor, but it also allows us to better understand and relate to Him! Once we begin to realize that, it is time to put our shame into words and go to war against the chains that hold us in bondage. Shame is the deep feeling that we are flawed or damaged or undeserving of love. Shame says that our feelings must be truth. And it roots itself so deeply into our hearts that many times we can't even recognize where it is lurking. Today we are calling it out. Welcome to the table of conversation with my friend, Sara Davis, as we dive into a two part episode on shame. We are identifying it in our lives, talking about where it most often hangs out, and discussing why those self-esteem talks just aren't permanent fixes for something like shame. I dare say that every woman needs to listen to this. This is for the girl who was left in heartache after sorority recruitment. Who felt the sharp sting of rejection. Who did not experience bid day as the happiest day in the world. And who is now trying to navigate college with a shattered plan and lack of instant community. We see you. And we are here to share our story. This is something that does not get talked about, and it's time to bring it into the light! Welcome to a place where we are walking boldly in our purpose. Find us on instagram: @ashlyn.beagley
Hey sister! Today's episode is simply a conversation with my aunt, Kim Day, all about walking with the Lord and what that really looks like in our day to day lives. This is laying some groundwork for what a relationship with the Lord really looks like before we start going really deep into specific topics! Here are a couple "definitions" pulled from the episode that I remind myself of on the daily!! Theology = the study of God, what we believe about God. As a believer, everything will overflow out of our theology! This is the grid we literally live our lives through. A Maturing Woman of God: one who recognizes her need more quickly and runs to her source (Jesus) more swiftly. Not one who has arrived at this destination of having it all together. This episode is all about living through disappointments and full of practical steps for moving forward - both during covid, and the rest of our lives. I share with you the story of my freshman year of college and then equip you with 10 reminders for moving forward. These are the truths we discuss: We cannot control our circumstances, but we can control our response. Acceptance can be a weapon. Thankfulness over Entitlement. Now is the time to live expectantly. Make room for God to show up. He is too committed to His work of transforming grace to care for you in only easy, safe, and PREDICTABLE ways. Worship lifts you to a place where you are out of the grasp of fear. This is not permanent. “Thy will be done." Taking authority in these situations. Welcome to a place where we are acknowledging our disappointments and moving forward in our purpose.
Hey Sister, In this first episode you will find a little glimpse into my life and testimony, and really discover the purpose behind this new ministry. If you are here, you are welcome and you are loved. Welcome to a place where we are real, open, and honest. A place where you can show up in your mess to find empowerment in who God made you to be. And where you will find a friend and sister in Christ and always be pointed back to the God who is on the radical pursuit for your whole heart. Welcome to a place where we are captivated by our purpose.
