Many of us have struggled to know if God is speaking to us, and if so, what He is saying. This week we go over some key ways that God speaks to his children - first and most importantly through His Word and also through the Holy Spirit who teaches us all things and brings all that Jesus said to our remembrance (John 14:26). When God's design and order are out of place, we inevitably start to see the consequences. Over the past year, the Parrishes have been crying out to God for more of Him. They have realized that the Body of Christ simply can't survive on dead religion.David and Kelsey met at Highlands School, where they were both high school teachers. David wasn't a christian at the time, but after Kelsey told him she didn't date non-believers, he decided to take a closer look into what being a “Christian” meant. With the help of some great mentors, the Holy Bible, and the encouragement of fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, David leapt into faith. The Parrishes were married shortly after David's salvation in 2017. Early marriage and hardships put a toll on their relationship with Christ, as many families can relate to. They were going through the motions, doing all the right “things” that they knew they “should”, and ultimately were falling short of any real intimacy with their Creator. Compromise in the faith and worldly living were common in their household, as is typical of many in the American church. Where did the church in Acts go? Why does the church look and act so differently today- often times turning people away in hypocrisy?They found themselves crying out to God… “There has to be more!” The journey toward intimacy with Jesus led the Parrishes to begin to trust Him for everything, including the miraculous healing of their son, Pax Gideon Parrish. It didn't stop with Pax, however, as God begin to heal their entire family from the inside out. In this episode we go deeper into the reality of dealing with alcoholism and how it grips your whole family. More than that, we praise God for miraculously breaking the stronghold of addiction off the household and family line. Watch how the Chastains learned to put on the armor, and take off the mask.They thought that the life of drugs and alcohol was far behind them until about 14 years later, when life got a little hectic.  Losing loved ones and watching loved ones walk away from their faith seemed too much for Zeke, a recovered alcoholic, to deal with. Although He never jumped off the wagon, Zeke came very close to giving into the temptation and trying to get a tiny bit of relief from his depression. The devil knocked tirelessly on his door.As Emily dove into the scriptures and learned how to fight the spiritual warfare coming against her family from her prayer closet. She began to cover her family in prayer and praise to The Almighty. They want anyone and everyone to know that if your family is struggling, to take off the mask, stop acting, and give your life to Christ! Welcome to Episode 1 of “Build the Spark”, in this episode we introduce our two families and our burden for this ministry. As believers we are to be diligent about sharing what God has done in our lives. We are living testimonies, daily adding to our story until we are called home. Our Father is constantly teaching, revealing, and longing to take us deeper in our intimacy with Him. This channel is intended to show real struggles and trials that Christians walk through and the reality of the fact that our battles are not against flesh and blood.
