The Echo Sport Podcast is back for a third season to cover every puck of a sliotar and bounce of a football in Cork GAA.The league threw in up in Wexford and the interest in the Cork hurlers is as strong as ever, the electric summer of 2024 still fresh in the memory, though the pain of that All-Ireland final loss to Clare still hasn't abated. The Rebels have been hit and miss in the league in the modern era and haven't lifted the trophy since 1998. Is it important to bridge that gap? Limerick and Clare have secured doubles in recent years. The footballers beat Meath in what was a crunch clash in promotion terms. It ended their awful run of failing to win a first-round Division 2 fixture. There was a winter exodus from the panel which cranked up the pressure on John Cleary and his selectors. With some new faces and embracing the new rules, the Rebels hit 2-19.UCC and MTU Cork are off to impressive starts in the Fitzgibbon Cup. Are either of them in contention to collect the Fitz? Both sides are into the knockout phase with a game to spare with the likes of Ben Cunningham, Brian Keating, Diarmuid Healy and Alan Connolly on song.In the Harty Cup, the AG got to a first semi-final in 29 years, despite having a very young team. It was a remarkable run from the Mon, considering the bulk of their team is underage again next season. On the Corn Uí Mhuirí front, Hamilton High School from Bandon were the last Cork school standing but breaking the Kerry monopoly proved impossible. Críost Rí were the last from Leeside to manage that feat, way back in 2011.You can listen to the Echo Sport Podcast every week wherever you get your podcasts or on www.echolive.ie/podcast/ Hosted on Acast. Hearty congratulations for making it to the final Sunday in the year 2024. It has been a long, eventful, and wonderful ride. Jesus indeed glorified Himself in this year of ‘The Light”. In this final first service in 2024, we will expect the power to lay down ourselves. Jesus articulated the extent of His power by saying that no one was powerful enough to take His life from Him, so He had to lay it down Himself. Expect the power to lay down your life for the advancement of God's purposes as you connect with this powerful service! Don't come along, invite your friends and family. Support the show

In the book of Galatians, Paul corrects some erroneous teachings and practices among the believers there. These Christians had been deceived and had come to believe they had to keep and obey the Law of Moses to be saved and in right relationship with Christ.Main Points:1. Christ was the fulfillment of the law when he died for us on the cross. Our salvation is not based on law-keeping, it's based on faith in the Son of God who died for us.2. It's here that we recognize that we are not saved by doing good things. We do good things because we are saved. We live in obedience because God calls us to obedience. We serve and do good works because God asks us to do so. We are motivated by the great love of God and the sacrifice of Jesus on our behalf.3. Hear the call of our savior to lay down your flesh, your carnal desires, and your worldly passions. Let them be crucified with Christ. Embrace the life that comes through faith in the resurrected Savior.Today's Scripture Verses:Galatians 2:20 - “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”2 Corinthians 5:15 - “And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.”Galatians 5:24 - “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”Quick Links:Donate to support this podcastLeave a review on Apple PodcastsGet a copy of The 5 Minute Discipleship JournalConnect on SocialJoin The 5 Minute Discipleship Facebook Group

Come and listen while Host Gia-Raquel Rose speaks to all things Yoga, meditation and wellness with special interviews of extraordinary individuals, who are working to make the world a better place! #DivasThatCare Gia-Raquel Rose, owner of Airs Above Yoga, LLC and a real estate sales associate in Tewksbury, New Jersey has had a love for horses stemming from early childhood. Growing up in “horse country” afforded her the privilege of beginning to ride from the tender age of four. It was a childhood illness, which brought her riding aspirations to an abrupt halt. It took twenty years before she was able to reunite with her long lost passion for horses and their ability to heal. In that time, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communication from Arcadia University and became a twice two hundred hour certified yoga instructor in both Hatha and Vinyasa. It was the loss of her mother, Rose, to breast cancer, which ultimately shifted her trajectory from the corporate world to the internal work for which yoga, as a practice, is renowned.

On Sunday we looked at Philippians 2:1-4 and the subject of abortion. We talked through being able to listen to others despite our disagreements and that perhaps a better path forward would be to push for a world in which all stages of life can thrive.I mentioned the 1972 Church of the Brethren Paper and 1984 Paper on these topics and would strongly recommend you reading them (as well as all the other statementswe've put out). -Sermon from 10/13/2024
What would you think is one of the biggest stumbling blocks for us as we try to live our lives with integrity? How about pride? The Bible tells us that the sin of pride can lead to a whole range of bad outcomes.Micah 6:8 says, “What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”Walk humbly? Man…that can be the most difficult part of living out this verse. We have to constantly check our spirits to make sure our motives are pure, and are centered on God's plan for us and those we encounter.Micah is communicating to us that God actually requires certain things of us. Justice and love are critical, but staying humble is no less important. It puts legs to the journey God has mapped out for us.Lay down your pride and see what God will do!Let's pray. Lord, we are at war with ourselves at times. God, our desire is to be the object of attention. Father, help us to lay this aside, and to live only for you. In Jesus' name, amen.Change your shirt, and you can change the world! Save 15% Off your entire purchase of faith-based apparel + gifts at Kerusso.com with code KDD15.

Dr. Brian Hill (Senior Pastor), "What Do I Need to Lay Down?", Communion, Modern Worship Praise Team (11:15 Service). 1. Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. 2. Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”3. Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about. 4. On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. 5. He said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.”6. Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together, 7. Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” 8. Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together.9. When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. 10. Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11 But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied.12. “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”13. Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. 14. So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”15. The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time 16. and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17. I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, 18. and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.” Genesis 22:1-8

We call it keeping up with the Joneses. The constant pursuit to materialistically keep up with our friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers. In today's episode, host Travis Shelton discusses this topic and why he calls it The Arms Race of Materialism. A lot of people are about to get burned, but we each get to make our own choices. While we can't stop the cultural pull toward more, we can lay our own weapons down and choose a different path.
