Some moments have brought joy, others have stretched our hearts and there may still be questions waiting for tomorrow. Yet tonight, we are invited to stop striving, loosen our grip on everything we cannot control and settle into the quiet assurance that the Lord will sustain us through the night. Our rest is not earned by having a perfect day; it is received as a gift from a faithful Father. Psalm 3:5 (NIV) “I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.” What a beautiful promise to carry into this evening. Every new morning is evidence of God's continuing faithfulness. While our bodies rest, He gently renews our strength, refreshes our hearts and prepares us for another day of walking with Him. We do not place our confidence in tomorrow itself; we place our confidence in the God who will be with us when tomorrow arrives. So tonight, let's gently remind ourselves that fear will not win, because Jesus Christ faithfully sustains us through the night and lovingly awakens us with new mercy. Father, thank You for carrying us through another day. Thank You for every blessing we recognised, every kindness we received and every unseen way Your grace has sustained us when we did not even realise it. Lord Jesus, bless every listener tonight. In this message from our Relationships in a Broken World series, Pastor Kai teaches on pride and the way it quietly destroys our lives and relationships. Pride is the appetizer before destruction. It exalts self, blinds us to our sin, keeps us from confession, isolates us from biblical community, and resists the correction and freedom God wants to bring. The antidote to pride is found in the words of Jesus: “Blessed are the poor in spirit.” To be poor in spirit is to recognize our spiritual poverty apart from Christ, to mourn over our sin, and to come to God with humility, desperation, and surrender. The gospel does not call us to clean ourselves up before coming to Jesus. It calls us to come broken, needy, and honest, trusting Christ to do what we cannot do for ourselves. This message also points to the cross and communion as the place where pride dies. When we remember what Christ has done for us, we are reminded that life is not about us. It is about Him. The cross humbles us, comforts us, and compels us to serve, forgive, reconcile, and live with our eyes fixed on Jesus.

David paints a picture of a Shepherd who lovingly provides what His sheep can't provide for themselves: true rest. “He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still waters.” Sheep don't naturally rest easily. They're fearful, anxious, restless, and distracted. Yet the Good Shepherd removes fear, calms the chaos, provides, and gently leads us to peace.
