\\Music, Friends, Laughs/// A creative/comedy show. Jeremiah hangs with artistic and interesting people to talk about nothing and everything
Success is unobtainable, your dreams are unrealistic, you're not talented enough. But never give up, I guess!!
Our band just released a new single! Adam just started pre-production on his first short film project! We've upgraded the audio setup and Adam joined us to try it out and talk about making stuff! Sometimes the process of creating new things also comes with learning to reclaim parts of yourself you've given up! The most important thing is to always strive to "be the person that your younger self would think was cool". Subscribe and check out the hit show that critics are calling "grade A garbage at it's finest"!
Emerging from the wilderness of medical school, Rachel tells tales of cleaning old men's asses, learning to use tampons, what it's like having a spring break in your 30's, and gives us drunken relationship advice. We ask some serious questions, and we mean the big ones. Questions like: How did you learn about sex? If the Government wanted you to fake your own death and be involved in a mission to space to contact aliens, would you do it? How to Diva Cups work?
I warned you this was coming. This is part two of the conversation with Adam and Mikey. It's dirty, we talk about gross stuff. Well...mostly just about masturbating. You probably should just skip this one
A rowdy way to start off 2019. Belle attempts co-hosting and talks about bisexuality, Adam is overly interested in Belle's perspective, Jere doesn't trust people who quote movies for comedic effect, Mikey convinces us of his vivid imagination and his hatred for small talk. Egyptian gods are just the ancient advanced civilization versions of artificial intelligence. Social media is just the monetization of a persons genetic need to be popular and accepted. Carny titties.
Filming baby elephants in Africa, deep introspective psychedelic experiences, and finding identity in what you do. It was my birthday, and was the exact conversation that I needed. Also, Jared Madden showed up at the end, and it got even better.
Honestly, I had a really difficult time coming up with a title for this one because of the subject matter. So I figured I'd just put up a couple things we talked about and let y'all figure it out.
///Life changes. Often. Wanna hear about it? What's the difference between talent and influence? How does ones ego affect their actual perception of reality? Pickles.
Would you rather sever your leg with a chainsaw to spare yourself the pain of heartbreak, or sever your leg with a chainsaw INSTEAD of ever being in love but subsequently never having to suffer the pain of heartbreak either? You HAVE to choose one! I mean, dont worry, you'll survive, but yeah... Are Clowns an actual race of human? If so, how do they procreate? And why weren't they able to revive me in time? Is it proper etiquette to EXPECT a foot rub from your friends, if you never ask for one? What if you're both trapped in a cave-in and you risk death? Do the rules of foot-rubs between friends change then? Which one of these two would be willing to shoot me in the head first if I were infected with a zombie virus? All this, and more
Kickin' it at the #CHILLZONE for my Birthday! Drinkin' some Jeremiah Weed and talkin about music theory, what Belle thinks our stripper names should be, and why public education is antiquated!
For those of you who have been following the show, you are already familiar with my friend Belle Loux. For those of you who didn't catch her last appearance on the show, we talked extensively about her future plans to make an album. WELL IT'S NOW OUT ON ITUNES! In this episode we break down a few of the songs off of it and play them on the show for you all to listen to! Check her out on all the social media thingies: @belleloux And be sure to pick up her new album "Aligned" on ITunes!!
Joe has recently made the transition to becoming an author and is currently in the last phases of revising and finalizing his first novel. A fictional story set in a post-apocalyptic world about human trafficking. Right up my damn alley, by the way... We talk all about the process of publication and editing a hand-written, 700+ page book into roughly 300 (holy buckets) Also Joe has seen his fair share of tragedy in his life. Coming out of the deaths of his mother, grandfather, and brother in the span of only a few years, we go pretty deep into dealing with grief and coping with the insane turbulence that comes with severe loss. "Well at this point if you don't finish the novel, what the fuck was the point of it all?" You can't help but get deep when you're talking to Joe Feuille
The gender dominance hierarchy, domestic violence advocacy, BDSM, and gender roles. These are a few of the things we talked about, and I love how insanely strange and dramatic it makes the episode sound like it is. Also Jolynn made sure to have half a bottle of wine, a beer, and a cup of coffee in front of her for the entire thing.
Cutting off your leg with a chainsaw, studying to be a Dungeon Master, and why superhero movies suck.
One of my best and longest running friends, Joe Faunce has his boots on the ground in the medical cannabis movement. Just an average dude with no formal medical training who's changing people's lives. This was a very informative and interesting episode. And yeah, we talked about weed for 2 hours. Y'all don't wanna miss this one.
One of my best pals Nick Loux is back on the show to talk about his NEW SINGLE, "ALWAYS HOME" OUT NOW ON ITUNES YOU SHOULD SO TOTALLY BUY IT. Other topics on the show include: How do you know you're not insane? Will the technological advancements of the human race further drive us into isolationism or expand our creativity as a species? Is morality a belief system or a social construct developed through human evolution? Is Fallout 4 the best game ever made, or does Nick have an idea for one that's even better? Make sure you follow him on Instagram: @nickloux ALSO PICK UP HIS NEW SINGLE "ALWAYS HOME" ON ITUNES
Zach Nielsen and myself have a few beers on Valentines Day and talk about videogames and our band! It basically explains a lot about why we're both now single... *cough*
For the first podcast of the new year, I couldn't really think of a better guest than my sister, Jennifer. She's weird. Like, weird like me...so yeah.... Also, I kinda don't wanna spoil anything in the description for this one. I mean, it's my sister so you have to listen to it. You better anyways... Follow her on Instagram! @paperandmoons
I couldn't really think of what to call this one, since we talked about so many things. So I figured I'd just describe what I thought about the episode. It was Bananas Mikey Ruck is a tattoo artist based out of Independence Missouri. He is also my friend. He's also hilarious. I think I may be in love with him... Adam Doria once again joins us to add some much needed middle ground to the conversation! Hear Mikey's story, and listen to three dudes solve all the worlds problems. Also special shout out to Joan Osborne for asking the real question on all of our minds.... Check out some of Mikey's work at Catalyst Arts Collective if you're ever in the area, and follow him on Instagram @mikey_ruck to see some of his stuff!
Belle Loux is a young, up-and-coming, singer/songwriter out of Kansas City who is working on the production of her debut album set to be released sometime early next year. Growing up in a very artistic family, she's had several different influences and inspirations, and she came over to give me some details on her songwriting process. Listen to her talk about her narcissism and dyslexia! Well, that comes a bit later in the show....but yeah... Check her out on Twitter @belleloux and like her facebook page @bellemusicpage to keep up to date with all of her show dates and album info!
Well, the elections over......what the hell happened? Wanna listen to us talk about it? That's not all we talk about by the way, we kinda touch on some pretty fun conspiracy theories about Big Pharma and the Military Industrial Complex. I probably should also mention we drink Tito's Vodka and Monster. Sugar free Monster, of course.
Adam had a random film gig in KC last week and demanded to be on the show again. He had a couple life updates and things to talk about. Who would I be if I didn't oblige him? I dont really wanna spoil too much of this one since it's kinda all over the place. Suffice it to say, this one is probably the most honest I get about a few things. Like how I think marriage is an antiquated idea that doesnt have much of a place in society outside of a religious context. Oh dear I've said too much I MISSED YOU ALL AND IM BACK IN TOWN! Stick to the end to hear a few announcements about new episodes and a direction change for the show!!!
My Friend Alex has a passion for troubled kids. One of the few people who's willing and has the fortitude to teach the inner-city alternative school students. My friend Alex also has a passion for the infrastructure and parks in the city, where he puts his long years of experience as a photojournalist to artistically display it. Also he's a super introvert and lives a double life and is really a sociopath. That part's not true. Check out his website: http://www.alexbcphoto.com/ Also if you happen to be in Omaha, Nebraska sometime between September 22nd through October 21st, OR you just feel like taking a field trip to see some great photography on display, Alex will be setting up his work in the gallery over at the Garden of the Zodiac! Go check his shit out!
Charlie is from England. He's also just recently started his own photography business. So I got the story on how all of that came about. The photography thing, I mean. Obviously he was born in England so we can kinda infer how all of that came about. His parents had sex there, in case you werent sure.... That title was pretty damn descriptive, so I honestly can't think of what else to say. Check out Charlie's website! http://charlesstevenphoto.com/ Also, this one ends on a cliffhanger which is kinda cool! Twitter: @bwdikpod IF you haven't already, be sure to subscribe on Itunes and leave a review!
Yeah, you like that title don't ya? That basically sums it up. I think the only other thing that needs to be mentioned is we talked about BB King and how we've shared several drunken moments listening to "Sticky Fingers" by the Rolling Stones. I mean what else needs to be said, y'know? Be sure to subscribe and leave a review on Itunes!
Episode Ten. My well-aged sage friend Charles came over and we got real. Like, right away. We went from talking about being a newlywed, to the history of the nation of Israel, to the evolution of American politics. Later, I try to give him a hair-brained Idea about how Christianity can coexist with the Simulation Theory and how the internet is forcing religions to evolve. Yeah, it got real. I reference a science conference during our conversation, and I found the link to it. Here ya go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgSZA3NPpBs
Brooklynn's BACK BAYBAY! AND BOY DOES SHE HAVE A STORY FOR YOUUUUUU .....you guys realize I write this out right before I post it right? Sometimes I nail it, sometimes I dont. BUT AAAANYWAYS, this was a pretty fun show. we talked about a few things. Some of them are dramatic, most of them werent. She has a pretty hilarious story about running into what was probably just a homeless person, but to hear her tell it, it was a scary acorn princess witch. Her words, not mine. Hit me up on twitter! @bwdikpod
bro...this episode has an INTRO...AND A THEME SONG Super legit now. So John and I are the kind of guys where if you get us in a room together, odds are we're going to sabotage the whole evening with dialogue. Luckily we're entertaining. We are...right...? Takeaways from this episode include, but are not limited to: Trains are awesome, Songwriting is hard, "Then What", and Carl is an asshole
This is my friend Vik Govindarajan, is the lead songwriter and piano player for the "Vik G Trio". HE has also recently hitched up with the local Kansas City band "Pink Royal". He came over to the Creep Dungeon to talk music and share his experiences and just hang out. Also I hate the word Creep Dungeon and I promise I will never use it again to describe anything ever...
NICK LOUX IS BACK. For those of you who listened to the previous episode with Nick, we discussed for a lengthy amount of time the new Batman Vs. Superman movie and our speculations about it prior to it coming out. Well, we went and saw it. Then we spent 2 hours talking about it. OBVIOUSLY this entire episode is basically a spoiler nightmare. So don't get all pissy if we ruin your movie that you still haven't seen. Besides, if you listened to the last time he was on, I spoiled the movie before it came out and gave my predictions for the entire story. Here's another spoiler for ya...I WAS BASICALLY RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING! Hit me up on twitter! @bwdikpod
Adam Doria is here. Guys....10 months ago one of my best friends left me for a girl he met on the internet and moved to Florida. I was sad. He came to visit me, we shared a lot of moonshine, and I coaxed him out of the whole story. It's actually hilarious and a good discussion about relationships. Afterwards, we fell down a pretty slippery slope where we discussed the meaning (or the meaninglessness) of life. We were still drinking throughout. Somehow yet again, I get in the middle of a pretty depressing conversation and it ends up being REALLY HILARIOUS. Of course...we drank quite a bit so...maybe it's not. Sorry this one is so late!! Due to the length of the ACTUAL episode and the amount of incoherent rambling (and air horns), I had to spend a little more time editing it down. You know what? You people don't really care about my excuses. Check it out and don't forget to hit me up on Twitter! @bwdikpod
Kyl Means showed up two days before Wrestlemania 32. Kyl Means wanted to discuss our predictions for the show. Kyl Means gets what he wants.
This one's a roller coaster. Nick Loux comes over and we drink gin and talk about alot of things. Things like working on music, fatherhood, understanding vloggers, and dealing with grief over dead family members.... That escalated quickly, right? AMIRITE?!!! Also we talk about the new Batman vs. Superman movie!! And then I spoil the whole plot using only the trailer.
Episode 2! My buddy Michael Brymer sat in my creepy office/dungeon and I just hit record. The best part about it is, I totally forgot to introduce him at all! I'm such a professional. Somehow we went from talking about the history of deodorant and ended up talking about life as a traveling, home-schooled, missionary-kid. It made for a pretty interesting comparison with me...considering I don't relate in any way. Life experience vs. education. Thats probably a good title for this. Or it isn't. *cough*
FIRST EPISODE!! I talk for quite a long time with one of my dearest of friends, Brooklynn Parker. She was kind enough to be the test subject. It was pretty easy to convince her when I offered a bottle of wine and pizza. Sooo...the audio isn't the greatest, but hey that's all part of it right? Figuring it all out and stuff...I guess... Brooklynn gives us her take on 50 Shades of Grey, shares a story of panic attacks (drug induced or otherwise, sorry mom and dad), and we bounce around talking about anxiety. The second half (I know, it's long. Bear with me, I don't know what I'm doing) We talk about Tinder, which I know nothing about, and relationships. The first episode is primarily me just sort of getting my feet wet and figuring out how the hell to do all of this. Feel free to share any comments, suggestions, criticisms or whatever on the Facebook group! Which is blank and boring!! Whee!!
