SEASON 4 EPISODE 42: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (2:30) SPECIAL COMMENT: Trump is drowning. Trump’s presidency is DROWNING. Yesterday, it was Republicans forcing a vote to extend Obamacare subsidies. Yesterday, 38 PERCENT approval in the Marist poll. Monday, his Rob Reiner tweet that appalled even the worst of MAGA. Tuesday, Susie Wiles. Friday, the Epstein Files, proving: no, history doesn’t repeat itself but yes, sometimes it LITERALLY rhymes. The Venezuela Wag-The-Dog episode collapsed before it started. It's about Narco-terrorism, whatever the eff that is? Oil? Stuff they stole? Nuh uh. For the first but not the last time we turn to Susie Wiles for the, uh, well, it’s a strange word to use about the Trump administration but here it is: TRUTH. "He wants to keep on blowing boats up until [president Nicolás] Maduro cries uncle. And people way smarter than me on that say that he will." She also single-handedly ended the just-forming prosecution of Jack Smith, and the vowed prosecution of Anthony Fauci, and the already-moribund prosecutions of James Comey and Letitia James and Adam Schiff and and and…All those cases will be thrown out of court. All of them. Because Susie Wiles is on tape saying quote “I don’t think he wakes up thinking about retribution but when there’s an opportunity he will go for it.” About Comey, quote: “I mean, people could think it does look vindictive. I can’t tell you why you shouldn’t think that.” Trump’s chief of staff. Confirming it’s retribution. And retribution means selective prosecution and selective prosecution is illegal and you not only get the case thrown out, if you’ve had to defend yourself or your reputation has been hurt, you can sue the government. And it’s on TAPE. So why did she say it? Why did she think she could get away with it? Because inside the White House even the Chief of Staff knows Trump is drowning. And they are beginning to distance themselves from him. B-Block (27:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Laura Ingraham doesn't know Niagara Falls is in Ontario or Ontario is in Canada or that Premier Doug Ford isn't an American. I make bad choices in Exes. And these MAGA idiots just cannot see anything in the world any more without trying to force it into their brain-dead templates: it MUST be political and it MUST be an attack on Trump. New York City councilwoman Vickie Paladino "knows" the terrible shooting was an attack on Republicans at Brown University, and the moronic troll "Cat Turd" is sure they're wiping the shooter's social media history clean (which is an idea he should execute). C-Block (37:00) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: I'm off by only four days from the exact anniversary, but it is now 42 years since I first met and interviewed Trump and I know most of us who knew him before knew he was nuts, but I must give myself credit. An hour after that meeting I was asking a colleague "what the eff is wrong with THAT guy?"See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Conflict is inevitable in long-term relationships. Damage doesn't have to be. In this episode, we explore what actually separates fights that bring couples closer from fights that quietly turn lovers into enemies. We talk about the moment arguments go sideways, why so many conflicts feel bigger than the issue at hand, and how couples can stay on the same team even when they fundamentally disagree. Our guest, Touré Neblett, draws on decades of navigating high-stakes, contentious conversations both publicly and privately to share what he's learned about emotional regulation, repair, and conflict inside a long-term marriage. This conversation focuses on how disagreement can exist without contempt, and how learning to fight differently can fundamentally change the trajectory of a relationship. Important context for listeners: We became aware of a workplace sexual harassment allegation involving our guest, Touré Neblett, from 2017, which he has publicly acknowledged and apologized for. Given the focus of this show, we felt it was important to acknowledge that context. What happens when old relationship patterns collide with real-time growth?Lauren and Trey start this episode with a wild night out that sparks a raw conversation about ex partner behavior, accountability, and emotional maturity. After witnessing prank calls and performative attempts to re-enter an ex's orbit while they were on a date, Lauren names the behavior clearly. At best, it's childish. At worst, it crosses into bullying and harassment.Instead of judging from a distance, Lauren invites Trey to reflect on the times he's done versions of this himself. They explore why intent does not negate impact, how none of us were taught how to be in romantic relationships, and why grace for our younger selves is essential to growth. Trey shares two candid stories from his past, while Lauren reflects on a moment when wanting to be chosen meant not choosing herself. At the 26 minute mark, the conversation shifts as they unpack a financial change in their partnership, with Lauren stepping into the role of primary breadwinner. Trey opens up about fears around contribution, masculinity, and being left behind, while Lauren names how meaningful it is that these conversations are happening at all. They revisit the origin of Sex Ed For You, the belief that fueled it, and how old money stories can resurface even in secure relationships.Lauren closes by honoring the courage it takes to seek support and growth. Trey ends with a message to straight men in particular. Seeking help is never shameful. If this conversation resonates, please like, comment, and share the episode. And if you're looking for sex and relationship coaching you're invited to request a free consult with Lauren at www.sexedforyou.com/freeconsultIdeal for couples in long-term partnerships who want deeper intimacy, more desire, and better sex.About Us: Lauren and Trey are partners living in Central Virginia where Lauren owns and operates, SEX ED FOR YOU. Happy Thursday, you pop culture junkies. We kick things off by revisiting last week's PCM newsletter, where we dove into menopause in pop culture — and how, finally, it's having its moment. From celebrity conversations to brand campaigns, menopause has gone from whispered to widely amplified, and we love to see it. We also touched again on two delightful cultural nuggets: Ralph Lauren Christmas — what is it and why? Parmigiano Reggiano… with a talent agent! Yes, the cheese. Yes, an actual agent. And yes, this story continues to bring us immeasurable joy. Moving onto this week's topics. You can't scroll TikTok or turn on a streaming service without bumping into Mormon plots, Mormon aesthetics, Mormon family dynamics, Mormon drama and Mormon everything. We explore why Mormon culture is suddenly everywhere and what's driving the current fascination. And a fiancé was pranked by her future in laws and husband into thinking they run a 10K turkey trot on Thanksgiving morning. Right up until they were meant to race she thought she had to do it. The Internet is divided what do you think? And did you know 50 Cent has a docuseries on Netflix on Diddy with never before seen footage. It's. Wild. And everyone has feelings about the Olivia Nuzzi situation — and Brooke has thoughts about those thoughts. Another week, another swirl of pop culture delight, chaos, and cheese representation. Miriam Katz is an LA-based actor, writer, and public speaking coach. She performs improv comedy live regularly and has acted on camera and done voice over for film, TV, commercials, video games, and more. Katz has written about comedy for Artforum and the LA Times and also ghostwrites memoirs. She teaches comedic acting to teens and coaches professional adults in public speaking. Her show interviewing every one of her exes, The Ex Appeal Podcast, brings together all of these different Miriams. In this episode, Miriam and I talk about contacting our exes. Miriam launched her podcast The Ex Appeal where she interviews every person she's ever been romantic with on any level (!). This includes her first date ever in the 5th grade, a stripper, a sex addict, an orthodox rabbi, a guy she had pretend sex with in a movie we co-starred in, a famous person, a man she dated while he had terminal cancer, and many more. Every single person. For her, it has been incredible and also very healing! It's given her so much closure that's really been helpful in her current life. Miriam recommends some version of this to anyone w/ an ex.
