"Pepito" joins the cast! From Teaneck, NJ to the top of the world. Today's guest is a world-class talent who redefined what it meant to be a modern striker. Whether he was finding the back of the net in the Premier League, La Liga, or Serie A, he did it with a style and intelligence that was purely his own. We sit down and discuss the journey to Parma at 12 years old, playing for Sir Alex Ferguson at  Manchester United, reaching a "flow state" at the top of his game, the resilience to battle through multiple surgeries, and now life as a dad,  the Head of Soccer for the Cosmos, and the transition from player to coach. Let's get into it with the one and only, Giuseppe Rossi.   We also discuss the fake outrage over the halftime show, discuss a former guest linked to the Epstein Files, dive into a true Olympic controversy, and discuss holidays decorations left up for way too long.  A great week of the show.

The body cannot store excess amino acids, so they are used for protein synthesis or energy. During catabolism, nitrogen is converted into toxic ammonia, which the urea cycle safely removes. Remaining carbon skeletons are repurposed for fuel by producing glucose or acetyl CoA which are both catabolized to produce energy.

The 2026 Winter Olympics start this week, taking over northern Italy from Feb. 6-22. But while Jewish sports fan might be eager to root for their fellow members of the Tribe... there just aren't that many this time around. Canada isn't sending any Jewish athletes that we could find (having snubbed some key hockey players), which leaves the United States and Israel as the only visible representatives of Jewish athletics in this year's winter games. Fortunately, there are still some unique stories to watch. A.J. Edelman, who was recently profiled for Scribe Quarterly, has been on a years-long mission to qualify for Olympic sliding sports; he will lead his bobsleigh team—dubbed "Shul Runnings"—after coming 28th in the skeleton competition in the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. American curler Korey Dropkin will look to hold Team USA's reigning gold medal in mixed curling. Israel is sending a sizeable delegation of nine athletes, including a brother-sister alpine skiing duo, a nationally celebrated figure skater, and a Floridian lawyer looking to break new ground in skeleton racing. Hear all about them and more in the latest episode of Menschwarmers. Session Twenty-Six: The Wachter House, a Basement of Skeletons, and the Point Where Vallaki Became Hostile Territory

Session Twenty-Six picks up at a moment where survival has stopped feeling temporary. By now, the party understands that Barovia doesn't reset between victories. Vallaki, once a place to rest and resupply, has become hostile ground. We're no longer visitors. We're trespassers. The objective is narrow and urgent: recover the Amulet of Ravenkind. Losing a relic capable of harming vampires in Strahd's domain isn't a setback. It's a liability. Lady Fiona Wachter, newly installed as Vallaki's burgomaster, is the most likely person holding it. Her family predates Strahd's rule, and in Barovia, old families tend to survive by making old bargains. We enter her house through the basement. That alone says something about how this campaign has shifted. The cellar looks ordinary until it isn't. Eight skeletons tear themselves out of the dirt floor, remnants of people who likely believed Vallaki was safer than the road. The fight is quick and decisive. What would have been a near-death struggle earlier in the campaign is handled with efficiency. Not confidence. Experience.Radley, the human fighter, has fully settled into his role as an Eldritch Knight. Early in the campaign he relied on armor and luck. Now he holds ground deliberately, mixing blade work with defensive magic. Urihorn, the halfling ranger who no longer casts a shadow, controls distance and terrain, his connection to his animal companion reinforcing a steadiness Barovia hasn't yet taken from him. Daermon, the arcane trickster, turns positioning and timing into damage. Perlan, the monk newly arrived to the valley, already fights like someone who understands that hesitation gets you killed here. After the skeletons fall, we notice something worse than the combat itself: signs of frequent foot traffic worn into the dirt. A wall rotates, revealing a hidden chamber. Five chairs sit around a pentagram. No bodies. No ritual in progress. Just evidence that this house hosts meetings, not accidents. That's Lady Wachter's real danger. Not sudden violence, but organization.Outside the house, the tension shifts from combat to consequence. Ismark, burgomaster of Barovia Village and brother to Ireena, presses us for answers we've been avoiding. Until now, we've lied to him about his sister's fate. Not out of cruelty, but because the truth in Barovia doesn't bring closure. It brings reckless action. The lie collapses anyway.Radley carries that moment harder than most. He's now the only survivor of his original party. Everyone else from those early days is dead. Burned. Taken. Left behind. He isn't still alive because he's exceptional. He's alive because he adapted. At the end of the session, the party reaches Level 7.Mechanically, this is a meaningful step. Fighters gain stronger combat options. Rogues and monks become harder to pin down. Spellcasters unlock deeper resources. Everyone gains resilience and flexibility.Narratively, the level-up marks something quieter: we're no longer reacting. We're preparing.Session Twenty-Six doesn't end with a win. It ends with clarity. Vallaki is compromised. Lady Wachter is entrenched. Strahd is still ahead of us.And whatever comes next won't be handled politely. In Barovia, that's progress.

What would you think about a nephew marrying his aunt—his mother or father's sister—and starting a family together? It feels creepy, gross, incestuous. In fact, the Torah not once but twice bans nephew-aunt unions.Do not uncover the nakedness of your father's sister; she is your father's flesh. Leviticus 18:12You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister or of your father's sister, for that is laying bare one's own flesh; they shall bear their guilt. Leviticus 20:19Why am I telling you this? What am I leading with this unsavory subject? Because in this week's portion, the Torah abruptly slams the breaks on the telling of the Exodus story—Moses's initial demand to Pharaoh to let my people go, Pharaoh's rejection and demand that the Israelites make the same tally of bricks but gather their own straw, God's reaffirmation that God has heard their cry and will redeem them, and then the first seven of the ten plagues—the Torah slams the breaks on all this suspense before the plagues begin, to offer a genealogy. Genealogies are eye-glazing. One tends to pass over it to get back to the drama. That would be a mistake. This genealogy contains a bombshell:Amram took to wife his father's sister Jochebed, and she bore him Aaron and Moses…It is the same Aaron and Moses to whom the Lord said, “Bring forth the Israelites from the land of Egypt, troop by troop.” It was they who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt to free the Israelites from the Egyptians; these are the same Moses and Aaron. Exodus 6:20 and 26-27.Turns out, the dry genealogy is not so dry. It makes two points. One, Aaron and Moses are the fruit of a nephew-aunt union that we know to be creepy and incestuous, and that the Torah itself twice prohibits. Two, it is precisely and defiantly this Aaron and Moses that lead the Israelites out of Egypt. What is Exodus 6 trying to teach us?

"Mama always said that dying was a part of life...but I sure wish it wasn't."-- Forrest GumpMy journey as a fan of the Grateful Dead is -- from my perspective -- and interesting one in that I went from the tiny handful of FM-radio hits to Skeletons from the Closet: The Best of the Grateful Dead, and I didn't love it. At all, really. Some time later everything changed.I wasn't certain about the lineup and why the vocals sometimes didn't sound like Jerry Garcia's voice, but I eventually figured it out, and -- in typical fashion for myself -- I fell in love with Garcia's playing, Garcia's voice, and the sometimes-lovely keyboard playing. And that was kind of it.It took me until the formation of Dead and Company to form my admiration and respect of -- plus love for -- Bobby Weir. Seeing the occasional photo of him in Birkenstocks (and ultimately barefoot) on his on-stage rug in addition to the occasional Instagram post of him in yoga poses, etc. really solidified my belief that this was a truly special human being.I struggle with a number of things, and among them is the constant need for the reminder that social media isn't real life. So, when Bobby's passing was shared with the world, I bristled at verbiage in posts that started with phrases like, "I'm devastated."At the same time, I also kind of understood.Bob Weir -- from my vantage point -- was in incredible human, and we are so, so lucky that we shared living moments with him.I say all of that to say this: Nicolette Paige joined me for Episode No. 197 and even though I didn't know her prior to her ringing my doorbell (and scarcely know her now), she seems like a delightful person. She -- I think -- is all about energy and love and positivity, and we could use a few more Nicolettes on this planet right now.Mrs. Paige and I talked about family, growing up with incredibly supportive parents, putting on shows, seeing clients, peddling products, managing screen time, as well as a few of her favorite albums, which were these:Bob Marley's Exodus (1977)Bruised Orange (1978), John PrineJimi Hendrix's The Jimi Hendrix Experience (2000)Mama's Gun (2000), Erykah BaduErykah Badu's New Amerykah, Part I (4th World War) (2008)Follow her at @nicolettepaigemusic on Instagram. Check out her Web site, soulchildawakenings.com, and -- if you're so inclined -- you can follow Soul Child Awakenings on the socials we know as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. She's also got two albums -- self-titled + The Other Side -- available via the streaming platforms.A big thank you to Nicolette for the time and the vibes. A super-big thank you to you for supporting the podcast, and a massive thank you to Bob Weir, for being an absolute treasure.copyright disclaimer: I do not own the rights to the audio clips featured in this episode. Eva Mueller came to IMMORTAL the way some people walk into a storm: fully dressed, totally intentional, and a little thrilled by the danger. In this new interview from IMMORTAL (Día de Muertos, CDMX), Eva (NYC) admits what a lot of us won't say out loud: she wanted Day of the Dead her whole life—so when TBQA built a queer art fair inside that ritual season, she said count me in before the ink was dry.And then she arrived with work that blindsided me—in the best way.Eva's series “Vivir Muriendo” (living while dying) was made fast (deadlines: the great queer aphrodisiac). Skeletons, skulls, six characters, all her—channeled, embodied, performed with collaborator Anna Augustin (costumes, looks, and yes… the heart). Under the camp and the spectacle is the real question: am I ready for death? And the sharper one: how do I want to live while I'm still here? Her definition of queer is clean and deadly accurate: not a rigid binary, not just who you sleep with—an umbrella of identity, tribe, home, and freedom. The opposite of “straight” isn't “gay.” It's permission. Also: she's wearing a giant bone-phallus in the interview, so please don't pretend this is a tasteful PBS moment. This is queer culture. It has teeth. And props. Now live on Substack (video + feature), Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and our socials. And yes—we're inviting new artists into 2026.Zona Rosa home base. Expanded CDMX residency. Season 6 is here. New year, new me, new pod. Let me be clear. Nothing changed. Same chaos. Same button. Same “what are we doing?” energy. Appreciate the 2,249-ish of you who keep showing up. If you haven't yet, hit subscribe, hit like, and ring the bell so you get the quack ding whenever I drop an episode, clip, short, or whatever we're calling content in 2026.We kick off Episode 219 with the New Year's trip recap. Megs and I dipped out to Myrtle Beach for the reset. Quick flight. Good food. All you can eat crab legs. Then I get into my favorite Myrtle Beach activity, Dirty Don's oyster shooter flights. Old Bay rim, oyster in hand, vodka in the glass, chew three times, no more, then send it. If you're ever down there, go do it. Tell them Levi sent you. Let Dirty Don know Daddy brought you. Then we talk about Elon Musk's Grok and the internet doing what the internet does. People are using Grok like a public “edit button” on other people's photos. “Uncrop this.” “Remove this.” “Put her in this.” You get the idea. I tested it privately with Megs and with myself, for research, and the results were way too realistic. Which leads to the real conversation. AI has legit business value, I use it daily, but the moment it turns into public, weaponized creep behavior, the arguments against it start sounding strong. After that, we hit the student loan mess. Wage garnishment is back on the table, and millions of people are in default. I break down what this looks like in real life. People choose rent, groceries, and basic survival over sending hundreds of dollars a month to a loan from when their frontal lobe was still loading. I go on a full spiral about how the system pushes people into “pay it off if you're the 1%” or “join the military” as the only way out, and how insane it is to treat lifelong debt like a normal rite of passage. Then we get into the Venezuela situation and the “we're running your country now” energy. I talk through the oil angle, the absurd press conference quotes, the action movie vibes, and the fact that we're living in a timeline where the mission gets described like a film trailer. I also connect it to the Fire Fest universe, because of course I do. If you thought we were done weaponizing bad ideas, welcome to 2026.I pivot into something practical for local business owners. Going live is the cheat code. I talk about real examples like Amici's Pizza and Connor's hot dog cart pulling insane local traction by streaming consistently. If you run a storefront business and you need people to walk in and hand you money, stop treating your phone like the enemy. Put it on a tripod, throw on a mic, go live during your hours, talk to the chat between customers, and build local momentum. Then I give my favorite pro tip. Block people you know. Your audience isn't your high school class. We wrap with two more heavy hitters. Trisha Paytas saying she wants to run for Congress, and me realizing that if that's the bar, I might have a shot too. Then we close on the Pennsylvania grave robbery story that had everyone texting me. A guy allegedly stole over 100 sets of human remains and had them in his basement and storage unit. Skulls, bones, torsos, the whole nightmare. I break down the details, the local connections, the alleged selling angle, and how posting evidence on social media is the dumbest crime strategy imaginable.Season 6 is underway. It's already unhinged. More episodes, more podcasts, more studio builds, more chaos.Watch the episode. Then go to wawdpod.com to catch the latest uploads and the newest Season 6 drops.

In this Friday Headline Brief of The Wright Report, Bryan covers the escalating confrontation between Minnesota Democrats and federal immigration authorities, growing unrest tied to anti-ICE activism, new economic signals from the White House, rising global pressure on Iran and China, and a look at medical and technology developments heading into the weekend. Minnesota Democrats Escalate Against ICE: Minnesota media outlets and national Democrats are facing backlash after doxxing the ICE officer involved in the fatal shooting of activist Renee Good. DHS officials warn the move could put officers and their families in danger, echoing past incidents in Los Angeles where officers faced threats and harassment. Vice President JD Vance defended the ICE agent, stating that video and medical evidence clearly show the officer acted in self-defense after being struck by Good's vehicle. Radicalization and Anti-ICE Networks Exposed: Reporting reveals that Good was radicalized through a charter school that prioritizes political activism and later trained with a group called ICE Watch, which teaches tactics to obstruct immigration raids. Bryan explains how activists are instructed to use vehicles, barricades, and incendiary materials to block officers, behavior he says amounts to organized domestic extremism rather than peaceful protest. ICE Operations Expand Nationwide: President Trump is sending an additional 100 ICE officers to Minneapolis, bringing total deployments there to roughly 2,000. In Portland, Oregon, two Venezuelan migrants affiliated with the Tren de Aragua gang were shot after allegedly attempting to run over an ICE officer during a traffic stop tied to a prostitution investigation. Democratic leaders condemned ICE actions in both cities, while the administration argues officers are responding to lethal threats. California Loses Federal Transportation Funding: The Trump administration is withholding 160 million dollars from California after audits found that roughly one quarter of the state's commercial driver licenses were issued unlawfully, including to foreign-born drivers who cannot read or speak English. Advocacy groups representing migrant truckers sued to block the revocations, and Governor Gavin Newsom sided with them, prompting federal retaliation. Bryan warns that unsafe licensing practices have already contributed to deadly accidents nationwide. Trump Seeks Massive Military Expansion: President Trump is proposing a $1.5 trillion defense budget, up from $900 billion currently. He argues the increase is necessary for future conflicts and could be funded through tariffs. Budget analysts warn the move could add nearly $6 trillion to the national debt over a decade, raising questions about sustainability and congressional approval. Economic Signals Show Mixed Progress: Layoffs fell in December, trade deficits shrank to their lowest levels since 2009, and the White House announced plans to purchase $200 billion in mortgage bonds to lower interest rates. Federal employment continues to decline as agencies shrink outside of DHS. Bryan notes the strategy appears to be working so far, but court rulings on tariffs could complicate the outlook. Global Pressure Builds on Iran and China: Protests are spreading across Iran, including strikes at critical oil facilities, prompting a violent crackdown by regime forces. President Trump warned that further bloodshed could trigger U.S. intervention. Meanwhile, China is tightening its grip on rare earth exports, cutting off Japan and reminding the world that Beijing will weaponize supply chains whenever it chooses. Health and Technology Updates: New research suggests that certain cancer patients may need to reconsider high glutamine diets during treatment, while UK studies confirm that stopping GLP one weight loss drugs leads to rapid weight regain. Bryan closes with optimism about new lightweight exoskeletons showcased at CES, which may help older adults and injured individuals regain mobility and independence.   "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32     Keywords: January 9 2026 Wright Report, Renee Good ICE shooting Minneapolis, JD Vance self defense statement, ICE Watch activist training, Tren de Aragua Portland ICE shooting, California CDL audit funding withheld, Gavin Newsom migrant truck licenses, Trump defense budget one point five trillion, tariff Supreme Court ruling risk, Iran protests oil strike crackdown, China rare earth export squeeze Japan, CES exoskeleton mobility technology

There's a mystical moment in every adventurer's life when you stare deeply into your character sheet, question every subclass you've ever loved, and think: "Is this really better… or did they just rename it again?" Welcome to the UA 2025 Subclass Update—where barbarians downgrade, fighters glow-up, monks chug things, and paladins summon skeletons with the enthusiasm of a dad discovering Bluetooth for the first time. Show Notes In this episode of the RPGBOT.Podcast, the team dives into the Unearthed Arcana 2025 Subclasses Update, a grab bag of returning classics and rebalanced favorites from the 2014 rules. Some subclasses got fresh polish; others… got "updates." Randall, Ash, and Tyler walk through each major subclass, offering analysis, jokes, and a metric ton of sandwich discourse. Covered Subclasses: Path of the Spiritual Guardian Barbarian – Once the iconic barb tank, now notably nerfed. The new "choose-your-effect" system softens its once-reliable battlefield control. Result: "Meh, but fixable." Path of the Storm Herald Barbarian – A clear upgrade with better scaling, damage options, and flexible aura selection. A quiet winner in this UA. Cavalier Fighter – Surprisingly buffed. Constant marking, battlefield lockdown, and double reactions at high level. The table unanimously loves the glow-up. Warrior of Intoxication Monk – Formerly Drunken Master. New Mystic Brews add fun, flavor, and chaos—but the name flops harder than spilled ale. The team unanimously prefers "Warrior of Libations." Oathbreaker Paladin – Now with better necromancy tools and improvements to Aura of Hate. Gains Conjure Undead to avoid relying on friendly necromancers. Not perfect, but more self-sufficient. Key Takeaways Spiritual Guardian took a noticeable hit, losing its fully reliable taunt-and-protect combo in favor of weaker pick-one options. Storm Herald received meaningful boosts, including scalable aura damage and flexible environment selection. Cavalier emerges as one of the strongest defenders in the UA thanks to unlimited marking and battlefield control. Warrior of Intoxication has fun ideas but clunky execution, suffering from naming issues and overly slow brew mechanics. Oathbreaker finally feels like a playable subclass on its own, thanks to Conjure Undead and improved aura integration. JP Morgan Turns The Tables On The USVI And Points To Their Own Epstein Skeletons

JP Morgan publicly accused the U.S. Virgin Islands government of enabling Jeffrey Epstein by turning a blind eye to his criminal conduct while benefiting financially from his presence on the islands. In court filings responding to the USVI's civil lawsuit against the bank, JP Morgan argued that local officials knew for years that Epstein was abusing underage girls at his Little St. James compound yet failed to act, despite repeated red flags. The bank pointed to Epstein's close relationship with former USVI Governor John de Jongh Jr., including letters of support, favorable tax treatment, and political access, arguing that this cozy relationship helped insulate Epstein from scrutiny. JP Morgan framed the territory not as a victim of Epstein's crimes, but as a willing participant that allowed him to operate freely in exchange for economic benefits.JP Morgan further claimed that the USVI actively facilitated Epstein's operations by failing to enforce its own laws, ignoring complaints, and allowing Epstein to maintain an airstrip, private security, and unrestricted travel despite widespread knowledge of his past criminal conduct. The bank alleged that if the USVI had intervened earlier—through law enforcement action, regulatory oversight, or even basic investigation—Epstein's abuse network could have been disrupted long before his 2019 arrest. By advancing this argument, JP Morgan sought to shift liability away from itself and onto the territory, painting the lawsuit as an attempt by the USVI to rewrite history and deflect from its own role in protecting Epstein. The accusation laid bare an uncomfortable reality of the Epstein saga: that multiple institutions, including governments, may have knowingly tolerated his crimes when it was financially or politically convenient to do so.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Christmas is here—and this sermon invites us to slow down and remember why it matters. From Ephesians 2:1–2, we explore the honest reality of our spiritual deadness apart from Christ and the breathtaking hope that Advent announces. Like skeletons wrapped in holiday cheer, we can appear alive while carrying deep inner emptiness...but Jesus steps into our lifelessness to breathe life, hope, and rescue.   If you're longing for a grounded, meaningful start to the Christmas season, this message shows the true wonder of Christ entering our darkness and making all things new.

There is a valley carved by ice and time, where the South Nahanni River snakes through canyons deeper than any grave... and where men go in with dreams of gold and come out (when they come out at all) missing their heads. This is the Valley of the Headless Men.For over a century, prospectors have vanished here. Cabins burn with no trace of fire. Skeletons are found minus the skull. Gold pans sit untouched beside the ashes, as if whatever took those heads wasn't interested in riches. The Dene have always known why. Not the shy, camera-dodging Bigfoot of the Pacific Northwest. They describe it as a creature the size of a Kodiak bear with shaggy hair and dressed in the remnants of clothing and furs.Join Gary and GoldieAnn as they paddle Within the Mists of Canada's Northwest Territory to search for the Nakani.Facebook Fan Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/544933724571696Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/withinthemistpodcast/Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@withinthemistpodcast1977 Hosted on Acast. What lurks beneath our oceans? Can a soul truly be sold? And why do UFOs seem to defy physics itself? In the fourth installment of their Members-Exclusive AMA, Nate and Luke navigate through 60+ submitted questions, cherry-picking the most intriguing mysteries and burning questions about the Blurryverse. They examine testimonies of craft disappearing into mountains and oceans, including military tracking of objects that seamlessly transition from air to water without slowing down. The discussion ventures into theories about underwater bases, the unexplored depths of the ocean, and those mysterious geometric structures visible on Google Earth's ocean floor. The hosts discuss the theological weight of Mount Hermon - the supernatural significance of the location where fallen angels allegedly made their pact - and question whether ancient giants really walked among us, examining claims that the Smithsonian systematically collected and hid oversized human skeletons whenever they were discovered. The conversation weaves through the Book of Enoch's controversial status, why it didn't make the biblical canon despite being quoted in Jude, and what it might reveal about the true nature of our reality. They reflect on how guests like Tina Griffin, Ben Tapper, and Blake Cook all had UFO encounters that weren't even the main focus of their episodes, suggesting these phenomena are far more common than we realize. Between the heavy topics, discover what the shows the hosts are binging, books they are reading, and why they've already been in full Christmas mode with jazz (Nate) playing in the background. In 1921, builders in the quiet Essex village of St Osyth unearthed a chilling sight: Two female skeletons. Buried deliberately. With iron rivets hammered into their knees and elbows - a brutal, centuries-old method used to stop a witch from rising from the grave. For a hundred years, villagers have whispered the same names: Ursula Kemp. Elizabeth Bennet. Two women hanged for witchcraft in 1582. But who were they really? In this episode of my Tudor True Crime series, I uncover the dark world behind the St Osyth witch trials, a story of neighbourly grudges, grief, superstition, and a magistrate hungry for fame. You'll discover: How a fallen-out friendship sparked a chain of accusations Why Ursula Kemp was both a healer… and feared How an eight-year-old boy was persuaded to testify against his mother The terrifying role of magistrate Brian Darcy, who wanted a sensational trial What really happened at the Chelmsford Assizes Why two women ended up at the gallows And whether the skeletons found in 1921 really belonged to them… This is not just a witchcraft story, it's a story about fear, power, and the dangerous consequences of a single accusation in Tudor England. If you'd like to explore more Tudor witch trials and the wider Essex witch-hunt, I've added related videos below. • The Essex Witches - https://youtu.be/hpmkvJyc6x8 • The Tudor Witch-hunter - https://youtu.be/E7fbjYHVeGU • Witchcraft in Tudor Times - https://youtu.be/4XqRVOnsvps If you enjoy deep dives into Tudor true crime, superstition, and the stories that get left in the dark, please like, subscribe, and ring the bell. From dusty 19th-century newspaper clippings and mound-builder dig notes to strange museum whispers and global folklore, this episode follows the trail of “giant skeletons” said to have surfaced throughout history—and asks whether these tales point to the long shadow of the Nephilim. We sift reports of oversized femurs and megalithic burials, track the biblical threads (Anakim, Rephaim, Watchers), and separate mythmaking, mismeasurements, and hoaxes from the few cases that still refuse to die. Along the way, we map how empire, religion, and early archaeology shaped the legend—and why giants persist in our collective memory like footprints in wet stone. #WDRadio WEEK OF OCT 19, 2025 | In the late 1800s, a journalist uncovered the shocking secret of how medical schools obtained their teaching skeletons: hidden factories in London, Paris, and New York that processed unclaimed morgue bodies and exotic specimens from travelers into 10,000 anatomical skeletons per year, using acid baths, boiling tanks, and skilled anatomists who rarely assembled bones from the same person.==========HOUR ONE: Seeing a lifelike human skeleton in a doctor's office, especially in the past couple of centuries, was – and in many cases still is - commonplace. But where did one go to get such lifelike skeletons if you were a doctor in the 1800s? Why, a skeleton factory, of course! (The Skeleton Factory) *** The story of Kate Watson is a grim one – living as a prostitute in the Old West, and when that wasn't enough she took up cattle rustling. Her husband wasn't any better. So it's probably no surprise that she was strung up until dead. But maybe you should wait to pass judgement until you hear the whole story. (The Lynching of Cattle Kate) *** In March of 2004, teenager Brianna Maitland left work in the late evening hours and was never seen again. To this day it is still one of Vermont's most infamous mysteries. (The Vanishing of Brianna Maitland) *** Plus, “The Haunted Adirondack Mountains”==========HOUR TWO: It is considered by many, Britain's most well-known disappearing person case. Even now, over three decades later, people in the UK are still fascinated and intrigued by the unexplained vanishing of Suzy Lamplugh. (The Suzy Lamplugh Mystery) *** John List planned the murders of his own family so carefully, he almost got away with it. In fact, it took 18 years to catch him. (The Family Man Who Murdered His Family) *** We'll look at what it was like to be a woman in the 17th Century… and accused of witchcraft. (Witchly Accusations) *** If you drink whiskey, or even if you don't, you're likely familiar with “Jameson Irish Whiskey.” But did you know that cannibalism played a part in its history? (Whiskey and Cannibalism) *** A strange phenomenon takes place in Arkansas, and despite the numerous sightings and investigations, there is still no explanation for it. (Unexplained In Arkansas)==========SUDDEN DEATH OVERTIME: Parents always feel their child is special in some way – something that makes their child better in some way than other children. Parents of indigo children are no different, with some parents thinking their children have psychic abilities. Doctors say that these children have ADD or ADHD, but one parapsychologist says indigo children have something even more special – possibly even paranormal - inside them. (Supernatural Indigo Children) *** When you think of a mad scientist you most likely think of Victor Frankenstein – but it's rumored Mary Shelley took inspiration for the character from a real mad scientist by the name of Andrew Ure. (Andrew Ure: A Real Life Mad Scientist) *** The story of Kate Watson is a grim one – living as a prostitute in the Old West, and when that wasn't enough she took up cattle rustling. Her husband wasn't any better. So it's probably no surprise that she was strung up until dead. But maybe you should wait to pass judgement until you hear the whole story.
