In this week's episode, your beloved Create Loud hosts get to chat with Dylan Michael Searle - director, writer, and a good friend of Rachel's (in fact, her first film projects were with Dylan! Fun times.) It's a conversation you won't want to miss as they discuss all aspects of taking yourself seriously (and....not *too* seriously), being your authentic self with your art, taking risks, and obviously a whole lot more. Do what you gotta do to support your vision! We loved talking with Dylan, we hope you'll love hearing it! If you're still reading this, we will literally give you a shout out if you tell us your favorite color (or anything, really). Try it. See what happens. This has to be the most wholesome podcast episode of all time. Join us as Rachel interviews her little sister, Nellie! She's not your average 10-year-old. Nellie Mainor has a rare kidney disease called Dense Deposit Disease. Before her kidney transplant in August, she would do 5-hour treatments of Hemodialysis for a year (three days a week) and two years of Peritoneal Dialysis, which were 10-12 hour treatments every day. EVERY DAY. It's been a rough few years for this little trooper, but that hasn't stopped her from living her best life! She constantly chooses to be happy and positive, which is mind-blowing to her big sister, Rachel, because of all the struggles she has watched Nellie go through. What a hero! We could all use some positivity, especially right now. Nellie's simple, yet profound advice is sure to warm your heart and make your day. Don't miss it! We want to hear from you! Are you ready for this? I don't think you're ready for this.PREPARED TO BE RIDICULOUSLY INSPIRED."Stephanie Hock grew up in Murray, Utah. She loved watching her mother draw and was fascinated that she could draw anything. When Stephanie was thirteen, she watched her mom work hard to finish her bachelor’s degree in fine art (while pregnant with her seventh child). Her love of art and motivation to reach for her dreams inspired Stephanie to do the same. She graduated from Utah State University with a bachelors in Visual Art, but struggled to find her rhythm as a painter. Two years after graduation (and less fulfilling office jobs), Stephanie met her husband who gave her three tubes of paint as a wedding present. He encouraged her to find her artistic voice, and through workshops and artist mentors, she finally did. Stephanie is thrilled to be living the life she always dreamed—being a professional artist and being a mother. She can’t imagine how it gets any better. She and her husband live in Murray, Utah with their twin girls and two sons. When she’s not busy painting or mothering, she enjoys pursuing her other loves of photography, writing and reading."WE ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZED BY STEPHANIE AND ARE *SO STOKED* THAT WE GOT TO INTERVIEW HER Got any suggestions? Remember all those hilarious predictions about what the future would be like in the 1950s that are glaringly wrong, picturing flying cars and personal robots? WE ARE IN THAT DISTANT FUTURE.Technology has opened doors for us we never imagined, especially as a creative entrepreneur. Now, all we have to do is take advantage of them! Cody and Rachel talk in this episode about how to use technology to update you to Networker 2.0.1 (bug fixed where instead of waving, you’d just do an awkward salute). We talk about CRMs, what they are and how to use them (with specific unpaid mentions of Cloze and Gmelius, both fantastic pieces of software), as well as how your contacts can benefit you, regardless of what field they’re in!
