Mumbai is underwater (again), and so is Cyrus’ will to live — but that doesn’t stop this Cyrus Says AMA episode from turning into full-blown chaos. Joining him are Puneet Pania, who’s grumpier than the weather, and Akash Mehta, whose back pain has nothing to do with age and everything to do with… let’s just say other activities. The trio plunges into Mumbai’s coastal road mess, train-soaked trauma, and the weird magic of Zomato/Swiggy delivery guys — who somehow appear in your lift exactly when you open the door, like teleporting ninjas with momos. Akash takes us to Thailand, shares a food story you can’t un-hear, and wonders why Indians always look sad while traveling. Meanwhile, the AMA section serves up gems like how Cyrus became a human alarm clock, the mystery of Mysore Pak all of which has a witty twist to entertain the listeners. Packed with Puneet’s pessimism, Akash’s awkward honesty, and Cyrus’ desperate attempts to stay on track, this one’s pure, delightful nonsense. Basically, a normal day at Cyrus Says.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This is the Catchup on 3 Things by The Indian Express and I'm Flora Swain.Today is the 19th of May and here are the headlines.1. Supreme Court Rejects Minister's Apology Over Remarks on Colonel Sofiya QureshiThe Supreme Court on Monday rejected Madhya Pradesh Minister Vijay Shah's apology over offensive remarks allegedly directed at Colonel Sofiya Qureshi. The court ordered a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter and stayed Shah's arrest until a status report is submitted on May 28. Criticizing Shah, the bench said, “The entire nation is ashamed.” Shah made controversial comments during a speech near Mhow, indirectly referencing Qureshi. The SIT, to be led by an IG-rank officer, must be formed by 10 am Tuesday, per SC instructions.2. India Foils Drone, Missile Attack on Golden Temple by PakistanThe Indian Army revealed Monday that Pakistan attempted a drone and missile strike on Amritsar's Golden Temple and cities across Punjab on May 7–8, following Indian strikes on terrorist camps under Operation Sindoor. At a press event in Amritsar, the Army displayed debris from intercepted drones and missiles. Indian air defense systems, including upgraded L-70 guns and AKASH missiles, neutralized the threats. Officials emphasized the target was religious and civilian sites, underlining Pakistan's retaliatory intent following India's counter-terrorism operation inside Pakistani territory and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.3. BCCI Pulls Out of ACC Events Amid India-Pakistan TensionsAmid escalating India-Pakistan tensions, the BCCI has decided to withdraw from upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) tournaments, including the Women's Emerging Teams Asia Cup and Men's Asia Cup. The ACC is currently chaired by Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, which sources say contributed to India's decision. The move reflects India's intent to diplomatically isolate Pakistan's cricket board. The decision could impact the Asia Cup's feasibility, given the financial weight India brings to global cricket events. Sponsors and broadcasters may also reconsider deals if India stays out of the tournament.4. Bengaluru Faces Waterlogging After Year's Heaviest RainfallHeavy rain lashed Bengaluru for over six hours on Sunday night, causing widespread waterlogging and traffic disruptions across the city. Residents described it as the most intense rainfall of the year. Kengeri recorded the highest with 132 mm, according to the Karnataka State Disaster Monitoring Cell. The IMD has issued a ‘yellow alert' for the week, warning of more rain. Traffic police issued advisories for areas in northern Bengaluru including New Bel Road, Yelahanka Circle, Nagawara, and Allalasandra, as commuters dealt with long delays and flooded roads.5. Former President Joe Biden Diagnosed with Advanced Prostate CancerFormer U.S. President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, his office confirmed Sunday. Doctors reported a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5), indicating metastasis to the bones, but added that the cancer appears hormone-sensitive, offering some treatment hope. Biden, who left office in January, is undergoing evaluations for further management. Global leaders, including Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressed their support. Biden's diagnosis adds a personal and public health dimension to the global conversation on cancer awareness. That's all for today. This was the Catchup on 3 Things by The Indian Express.
This week on the UFD podcast I am joined by Akash Vaghela, the founder of RNT Fitness. Akash's journey from personal trainer to running a global online transformation business that's helped over 4,100 people across 28 countries is extremely impressive! In our conversation, we dove deep into how RNT Fitness evolved from chasing client numbers (they once had over 1,000 clients!) to strategically reducing to around 500 higher-paying clients. This shift not only made the business more manageable but significantly boosted their profit margins. Akash shared that this counter-intuitive move of working with fewer clients while charging more was absolutely transformational for both the business and his quality of life. Akash has been relentlessly consistent with articles, books, and his podcast - creating a content machine that positions RNT as the go-to experts in transformation coaching. This approach has allowed them to command premium prices in a typically price-sensitive industry. We also talked about the elephant in the room for fitness businesses - the impact of weight loss drugs like Ozempic and how they might reshape the industry. Akash shared some really thoughtful insights about how RNT is future-proofing their business model by focusing on the psychological and lifestyle aspects of transformation that medication alone can't address. For any entrepreneur looking to build a sustainable, profitable business that truly makes an impact, Akash's approach offers a masterclass in doing it right. Time to tune in, listen and learn! In this explosive AMA episode of Cyrus Says, Cyrus Broacha teams up once again with comedians Akash Mehta and Punit Pania for a hilariously chaotic deep-dive into the week’s strangest headlines, hottest takes, and the always unpredictable questions from the show's Discord community. The trio opens with a conversation about the tragic Pahalgam attack and whether Kashmir can ever be pitched as a honeymoon destination again. From there, they spiral into India-Pakistan tensions—with one listener suggesting a drinking water contest as a more peaceful resolution—and reflect on Warren Buffett’s grim warning about the dollar, debating if it’s finally time to switch to Monopoly money. Trump’s AI-generated image as the Pope sparks a discussion on whether artificial intelligence has achieved enlightenment or just a full-blown god complex. Meanwhile, cricket fans weigh in on the IPL’s newest sensation, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, and the controversy surrounding him, while gamers wonder if Rockstar could at least drop a GTA: Andheri Auto Rickshaw DLC to tide us over until GTA 6 finally drops. The episode also gets introspective, with questions about roast culture in Indian stand-up, the purpose of humor, and how comedians process the world beyond the cities they live in. Akash gives an update on his mysterious gym admirer, Punit reflects on how comedy evolves with age and consequence, and Cyrus addresses Dhoni’s non-retirement from IPL with just enough Bombay Gymkhana gossip to keep the conspiracy alive. It’s an hour of wit, weirdness, and wonderful questions—with no topic too wild or too sacred.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

There is a trembling beneath the surface of things. A hum. A rising. The world is not breaking— She is becoming. The old systems, built on separation, scarcity, and fear, are now being held up to the light. Not to shame them. But to release them. Like dead leaves falling from a tree that knows it's time to bloom again. The collective soul of humanity is standing at a threshold— one foot in the story of survival, and one foot in the story of remembrance. Remembering the interconnectedness of all things. Remembering the truth that we belong to one another. Remembering that softness is not weakness, and that love is the highest intelligence of the universe. There is grief in this process. Deep, ancestral grief. Grief for what was lost, for what was silenced, for what was never allowed to be. But grief is not the end. Grief is the alchemical gateway. Right now, the Earth is inviting us not to rush into action… but to feel what we've numbed. To sit in sacred pause. To restore what was severed. And in the quiet… A new frequency is anchoring. It sounds like children laughing without fear. It smells like wet soil after rain. It feels like bare feet on sacred ground, and hands reaching out instead of pulling away. The Earth is not asking for perfection. She is asking for presence. For communion. For sacred care. She is calling in the healers. The artists. The guides. The ones who walk between worlds. The ones who remember how to listen to trees and stars. If you are reading this, you are one of them. Your role is not to save the world. Your role is to love it back into harmony— one breath, one word, one act of grace at a time. Ritual of Collective Remembrance & Recalibration A Soul Alchemist Ceremony for the Healing of Earth and Humanity You may do this alone, with a small group, or invite others to create a circle across time and space. Use sacred tools that feel aligned: a candle, earth, water, a crystal, or flower petals. Set the space with intention. This is a holy act. 1. Light the Flame of Presence Hold a candle in your hands. Say aloud: “I call in the light of remembrance. I am here to feel, to honor, to restore. I offer this light to the Earth, to the ancestors, and to the generations yet to come.” Place the candle before you and take three deep breaths—into your belly, your heart, your womb or root. 2. Touch the Earth (or a stone, leaf, or soil) Feel her pulse. Whisper: “You are not forgotten. I am listening now. May my body become a bridge between worlds. May my actions become prayers.” 3. Water of Release Have a small bowl of water nearby. Gently touch it. Close your eyes and silently offer a grief, a fear, a pain—your own, or the world's. Whisper: “I offer this sorrow to the waters of change. Let what is ready to flow… flow. Let what is no longer mine… be washed away.” Dip your fingers in the water and anoint your heart, crown, or third eye. 4. Breath of Recalibration Inhale deeply: Truth. Exhale softly: Love. Repeat three times. Then say: “I now align with the rhythm of Earth. I remember who I am. I choose to walk forward as a vessel of harmony.” 5. Speak the Earth's Invitation Say aloud: “I am not here to save the world. I am here to love it back into balance. One breath, One word, One act of grace at a time.” 6. Closing Gesture Place both hands over your heart. Smile softly—not from the lips, but from the soul. Imagine a golden ripple moving outward from your heart across oceans, lands, skies. Say: “And so it is. And so we rise. Together.” Blow out the candle with reverence, and feel the quiet echo of peace settle in your bones.

In this episode of RNT Fitness Radio we're going to share the big 3 mistakes people make after they lose weight. Truth is, most people who lose weight end up back to square one either immediately, or after they experience a death by a thousand cuts. The trick is to make maintenance sexy by recalibrating your lifestyle. You may have seen me talk about going on long travel trips abroad without tracking anything, and maintaining a lean physique. This doesn't happen by accident, or restriction, or anything necessarily tactical. It happens by doing what we talk about in this episode. On today's episode I'm joined by RNTer Sohan, who was shocked when he completed a DEXA scan in the middle of 2023. He had no idea how high his body fat had gotten. A highly demanding travel schedule for his work meant that: 1) Time was limited. 2) He never knew what choices to make when on the go. The DEXA was the wake up call Sohan needed. Because he wanted to feel good about himself inside and out. That's when he stumbled across RNT after hearing about us from a friend. With the RNT Method, Sohan realised he could lose weight, travel and maintain his work schedule with ease. He started eating and training to create a lean physique that he'd always dreamed of. Sohan managed to create a brand-new lifestyle that fit around his chaotic work schedule without any issues. The results from his next DEXA scan showed how far he had come. Sohan lost 20 lbs of body fat in just 6 months! But that's not all, as you'll discover in this episode, as we dive into his cholesterol markers, and how the RNT method can improve so many different aspects of health and longevity. Before 2014, I thought it wasn't possible. Until I won a bodybuilding competition - the most extreme of all body transformations - whilst eating a South Asian diet every single day. I haven't looked back since. And in the past 10 years I've been able to help 100s, if not 1000s, get into the best shape of their life doing the same. One thing to remember is South Asians love their food. But they probably love to feed others even more. Trying to tell a South Asian that to get into (and stay in) shape you need to give up South Asian food is crazy. Of course, there will be certain things that just aren't on the cards (think burfi, bhajya or halva), but most main dishes can fit a healthy lifestyle with a few simple tweaks. So in this video I'm going to break down the 3 changes you need to make to a South Asian diet if you want to lose weight with it, and of course, keep it off. On this episode of RNT Fitness Radio I'm joined by long-term RNTer Amisha Patel, who comes onto the podcast for the second time after appearing on episode 205 way back in May 2021 a few months after her first photoshoot. 3.5 years later she talks about how much she's levelled up in every aspect of life: from her career, to her mental health, to her physical strength. Having started by lifting only 20kg, she's now hip thrusting 170kg, deadlifting 100kg, and is a great example of what's possible when you go all in on strength training. Hearing stories of RNTers keeping the weight off by following the five-phase process is what this is all about, so if you want to see what's possible when you commit to the long-term journey, Amisha's story is amazing. I'm not going to bore you with another podcast on the benefits of sleep, and why you should be sleeping more. In a perfect world, we never use alarm clocks, sleep as much as we need, and go to bed early in a nice relaxed state. But if you're listening to this, chances are you're in the real world. One with pressures, a stressful job or business, young kids and let's face it… a busy lifestyle. Just like the 4000 busy professionals my team and I at RNT Fitness have helped to lose 20-60+lbs, keep it off, and build healthier, fitter lives. Most people I know in this real world sleep less than they should be. And for most I know who don't sleep enough, it's not always because they're bingeing on Netflix or mindlessly scrolling. If that is the case, then stop this podcast and fix that first. Instead, it's because they've got a lot to do. Or they have young kids who wake up early. Or their business or career just requires a lot of their time. I saw this first hand growing up watching my mum build her business while looking after the family, waking up at 3-4 am daily because she needed those extra hours awake. For others, especially in the corporate world, staying late at work is seen as a necessity (even if they're not being productive), and it's completely out of their control as to when they can leave. Which is why the advice of ‘just go to sleep earlier' isn't always sensible. If this sounds like you, then you need to learn how to sleep faster and maximise the time you do spend on a pillow. Sleep is important, so if you want to improve your fitness and wellbeing on less than optimal sleep, the six strategies in this podcast may be worth trying. This week, Newslaundry's Abhinandan Sekhri, Raman Kirpal, Manisha Pande and Anand Vardhan are joined by The News Minute's Dhanya Rajendran and digital creator Akash Banerjee aka TheDeshbhakt. On sustainable and profitable revenue models for news, Anand says that the subscription model might be prone to the problem of becoming “a groupspeak”, where “financial influences have been insulated, but the editorial leadership has a view” that becomes the identity of the platform. Abhinandan responds to this, saying, “This is not the limitation unique to the subscription model, but a limitation of the human condition.” Dhanya adds to the subject, saying the paywall adds a lot of pressure on reporters, who judge the value of their work based on whether it goes behind paywall or not.On the difference between journalists and digital content creators, Akash says creators are appropriating information available through journalistic platforms. Dhanya says that the line between commentators and journalists is already blurring. This and more, tune in!We have a page for subscribers to send letters to our shows. Akash Asif is the director of operations and strategy for the Centre for Suicide Prevention (CSP) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Akash's journey into suicide prevention work began when he suddenly lost a colleague to suicide. This experience opened his eyes to the number of people in his life experiencing mental health concerns, especially suicidality. Akash was intimately involved in the development of CSP's Buddy Up campaign. Buddy Up is a program specifically designed to help men have genuine conversations about their lives which then allows them to connect and provide support for each other. Our conversation was a great opportunity to “look under the hood” of Buddy Up by allowing Akash to help us understand the development of the title Buddy Up, the decisions around the artwork that is core to the program, and why they integrated certain tools (air fresheners and hard hat stickers) into Buddy Up. We also talked about help-seeking versus help-giving and why these terms are important when thinking about designing an intervention for certain guys. Akash also described some current developments in Buddy Up and why he is excited about the future of the program.
