An international group of friends playing a Theatre of the Mind, Storyteller Podcast loosely based on 4e D&D. Hosted by the Grey Area Podcast and featuring Tinzien as the DM.
Sezzur gets into a semantics fight, Zanatari becomes the first plate & mail wearing rogue, Karrul collects roof shingles, and a dragon is somehow involved in the fiasco. Yup, Summer is over and we’ve returned! Audio issues killed the opening and closing of the podcast.
Desperate times call for flashy entrances which can awe even a red dragon who is marauding through Winterhaven.
The party continues a desperate fight for survival in the mine shaft leading from The Living Dungeon. There is also a big reveal at the end of the episode.
Sometimes the party is itching for a fight, and sometimes a dirty, bare knuckles tunnel fight itches for a party. Welcome to the day that the fight gets its itch scratched.
The Living Dungeon tries to communicate with the party while Sezzur feels queasy about all the gold he has hoarded.
Arriving in the Drow city under Winterhaven, a discovery is made regarding a new tyrant who is causing problems while at the same time promoting literacy. An investigation of the new cavern begins but is soon cut short by expected problems and trouble.
Shortly after returning to Winterhaven the party encounters the town's Deputy Mayor, comes to grips with orc politics, and then heads off to the Drow city under their feet. Oh, their may or may not be a marathon involving lightning bolts.
This is our special 2016 Holiday episode which happens outside of our D4 cannon story-line! Jenesee takes over as DM and sends the party out to rescue a child on a most confusing but auspicious evening!
Sometimes it is better to never have known that you have been in the belly, or somewhere more disgusting, of the beast. The party comes to this collective conclusion and more in this episode!
The party continues to investigate what happened in Gaslight while Zanatari and Burt ponder the repercussions of smiting.
Sezzur ignores things, Karrul recovers in a barn within the town of undead, Burt might have launched death rays, and Zanatari gets the idea in her head to ask a vampire some questions. Yeah....
Consider for a moment an event so terrible that it makes undead flee in terror. Welcome to that event.
Events take place at the tavern, including a visit from Sezzur's employer, that lead the party to flee instead of mingling with the residents of Ghostlight.
Drawn towards the ruined castle, the party makes an initial inspection of the castle before a creepy tavern in the neighboring village occupies their attention.
Zanatari learns to pilot the flying platform while the rest of the party covers the fact that they stole from themselves by possibly destroying the Sezzurorium... yeah... Anyways they soon find something more horrifying than Zanatari's piloting skills.
Sezzur finally puts out the last of his personal fires and joins up with the party who are on the lookout for snacks or transportation elsewhere.
Sezzur tries to talk and act his way out of suffering consequences earned by looking to only his own safety during the fight with the flesh golem.
The source of the mess in the Sezzurorium makes itself fully known to the party. In addition, Zanatari plays with electricity while Sezzur displays his proficiency with being ready for all situations.
Exploration of the Sezzurorium continues professionally at first but then dissolves into the usual mess when a number of unusual messes are discovered.
We lost three episodes since Episode 178 due to technical issues so this episode starts as a recap and then moves forward as the party continues their exploration of Sezzur's vault. Zanatari also confirms that she has poor translation ability.
After a period of brief investigation, Sezzur gets to bask in his own golden glory.
The party explores deeper into the lizardman settlement and comes across an activity that is either justice or a cultural exchange program.
Karull and Zanatari head into a nearby lizardman settlement to dispose of a corpse and to get some spices. In some ways they are closer to home than they think.
Zanatari gets her chance to pepper the Green Dragon Empress with questions while Sezzur seals a deal. A gratefull Empire also demonstrates that it's not cheap when it comes to paying the hired help. And no, I have no idea what Jenesee was thinking when it came to the opening music selection.
This episode deals with the party finally coming to their senses and awaiting an audience with the Green Dragon Empress.
Having dispatched the beholder, the party starts to question their sanity and surroundings.
Beholder vs. party on The Path of Immortals. Pity the beholder. For a historic review of the Tunguska Event in the real world, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunguska_event
Given time to patch up a bit and take stock of their surroundings, the party makes a discovery that maybe should have been left undiscovered.
Mydthryn continues to personally sample new definitions of pain while others in the party are devoured by demon scarabs. Or are they?
Tinzien takes a couple minutes of your time to give an update as to why there have been no updates in the last month or so. No worries, we're still alive!
In this episode you will find out what fate has befallen the poor, unspeakably clean Mydhryn who has been plummeting from the sky. It probably involves a giant worm...
The party continues to deal with both the onslaught of giant worms driven to the surface by the conflict at the jail. Mydthryn somewhat continues to learn how to fly and Karrul learns that flesh is weak in his mighty grasp. There is even a rumor going around that Zanatari's deity is present!
Mydthryn's player starts out trainwrecking the opening music by talking about his battery powered vanilla scented candles. After absolutely no order is restored, the part gets down to business as they continue the march to war and are granted certain abilities by the Green Dragon Empress.
Episode 167 starts out as a train wreck due to out of character banter. I am putting this behind the scenes to share what happened when Mydthryn was asked to put his mic boom up because we could hear him breathing before we started the formal recording. Plus hearing Jenesee loose her mind is always fun.
Many a soldier has shown bravery in the face of a fog of war. In the case of the party, they must also show great dexterity within the green haze.
Some things go bump in the night, other things shake reality by the scruff of its neck.
Mydthryn is brought uncomfortably up to speed with what has been happening of late with the party and gets to quasi-meet The Green Dragon. News of a dire sort, is there really any other kind with this group, is received that causes the party to get moving with haste.
The party rides hard to join the conflict with a holy storm at their backs and a number of odd followers gathering at their side.
The discovery that what is food for one sort of creature is a requirement for life in another creature causes the party to beat a hasty retreat from the lizardman warren. On the plus side, a soon familiar face makes a return to the traveling company.
The party engages the lizardfolk at the border to The Green Dragon Empire. Karrul's box appears to offer suggestions as to how to proceed. Mydthryn's player joins us out of character in the channel which leads to some very funny but blushable conversation amongst the cast.
At D4, we're known for our sometimes odd holiday episodes and this special video is no exception. This belated Halloween treat is a 12 minute video by the Lady R at play (recording herself) showing what can happen when the horror under the stairs creeps forth!
Happy Halloween week! The party continues to explore the disturbing fields within the deific realm of death, and Sezzur gets a job offer.
The party decides to make their way towards the pyramid within The Green Dragon Empire that they have been avoiding. However, during their first night at camp they come upon something gigantic and horrible.
This brief character development talk involves the players starting to take stock of having completed two steps in The Path of Immortals epic quest line. Yes, people were sleepy and Karull's player was off for the night.
This special episode picks up the evening where episode 147 left off because Karull's player was not available to record. Closing this loose story thread will allow the three players to move on with a new story line. Sezzur and Zanatari's persuit of the cloaked figure pays off!
The party ventures forth either in search of further adventure or a needed vacation. What they get is a visit from two old enemies and introduction to something crafted which may help or hinder their progress.
