(00:00:00) The Geek Matrix Pod reviews DC's Weekly Comics Releases This week, (11/20/24), that's: (00:36:19) Action Comics #1076 (00:48:00) Batman-Superman World's Finest #33 (00:53:29) Titans 17 (01:04:50) Catwoman #70 (01:09:45) The Question: All Along The Watchtower #1 (00:41:33) Plus our Honorable Mentions covered each week by Josh! Here's the run down – Variants McFarlane Toys again for variant covers on Batman / Superman: World's Finest #33, Action comics #1076, Titans #17. Lots of pretty good variants this week, but my favorite is undoubtedly Catwoman #70 by Frank Cho, followed very closely by the Watchtower Variants from Jorge Fornes, Lucio Parrillo, and Danny Earls. Issues Batman & Robin Year One #2 – Really good. 100% Samnee art. The dialog is great and it's a really good story. 8.25/10 Batman Full Moon #2– Fantastic. Utterly fantastic. If anyone is telling you otherwise, well, the just aren't right. The art and story and dialog are all spot on in this book. 8.5/10 Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter #5– Okay 5 issues in and I can officially say this without doubt. So far, Allwinter outshines the original story, and that original story was awesome… and… the art scheme. It sells it so much. Every sliver of the story is also being told in the art and the colors and if you aren't reading it, I mean this, you are truly missing out. .. 8.5/10 Jenny Sparks #4– I really don't know what I was expecting with this. At all. But it wasn't this. I didn't expect to like this. Here I am hating it. The art is really, really, really good. But that's NOT Jenny Sparks OR Captain Atom. Again, it's the art – 6.5/10 Wonder Woman #15 – Same as Jenny Sparks, but lower because this is canon, not Elseworlds. Great art. Awesome art. Really crappy story. 6/10 Milestone Universe-The Shadow Cabinet #1– So much in this issue! It really kicked this 4-issue mini off. There's a lot to the issue, and it's a good thing it has extra pages. I'm really looking forward to the next issue so we can find out more about what's going on, and what will happen with the Blood Syndicate and where are the rest of the team? Man, I love Milestone. 8.5/10. #Superman #Batman #WonderWoman #Titans #Catwoman #TheQuestion #AllAlongTheWatchtower #Milestone #DCAllIn #AllIn #Absolute #DCComics #comics #comicbooks --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thegeekmatrixcomics/support

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, VIRGO!!!!!It's eclipse season again, but don't worry, Virgo, because there are positive birthday vibes and good surprises coming your way! The gals begin the episode by reminiscing about when they met Susan Miller on the streets of New York three years ago. What a time! Neither Laura nor Alex have any embezzlement to report (translation: Susan didn't make any predictions for them last month that panned out), so they dive immediately into September's Note, where they learn that the 2025 Astrology Zone calendar is ready! Susan also gives her readers an update on the trials and tribulations related to her recent flood and subsequent relocation. Then it's time for the horoscopes. There's a lot to cover because, for better or worse, eclipse season is upon us. Susan is quick to warn us that if we don't deal with our issues and make decisions that the eclipse will make them for us! Laura and Alex begin with Virgo's forecast, which unfortunately seems like a mixed bag. But hang on for the second half of the month, Virgo, and you'll see some sparkling 4-star days. Laura then explains the effects that the eclipses will have on Taurus and about all of the wonderful planetary golden triangles that will bring them good fortune. And Alex tells Scorpio that September is a time to have fun, even though last month Susan seemed certain that the Scorps were embarking upon eighteen months of sadness. Laura and Alex discuss the following at these timestamps: Note from Susan Miller: 7:39Virgo: 14:32Taurus: 24:16Scorpio: 38:33Share your own thoughts on Susan Miller's Astrology Zone with us by emailing astrologyzoned@gmail.com.Links:Read each episode's transcript at our website: astrologyzoned.comHelp Laura reach the full potential of her Susan Miller legacy by buying her romance novels: http://Lauralovelybooks.com

Kaitlin's back! (and we're as vulnerable, edgy and open with our language as usual so be mindful of little listeners) In this conversation we talk about the difference between being "eclipsed" and being "triggered" and where we can take radical, personal, responsibility for ourselves. Kaitlin Garratt is a 3/5 Pure MG with only individual circuitry. She has the channels of Inspiration, Perfected Form, and the Beat. Kaitlin also has a Pure Individual partner, who is a 5/1 Emoting Projector, and a QR 1/4 Reflector daughter. Join us again as we shoot the sh*t about our de-conditioning process. We cover a lot of Human Design topics, but what is more interesting is the way in which we interact with eachother. As the Projector, I ask a lot of questions, and they come through a strategic mind, which is great for Kaitlin as she responds from her sacral, and also enjoys me puling from her receptive mind. I can't reccommend working with Kaitlin enough if you're looking for someone to empower you through a phase of intense growth in your life. “I wasn't looking to be in a business,” jokes Danai Gurira. “I really felt like I wanted to tell stories about things I haven't seen.” The Zimbabwean-American saw a way to use the craft of writing to inspire others, even though she initially thought she was going to be an academic. “The focus is always around African women,” she says. “I was born in the midwest but we moved back shortly after Zimbabwe gained independence. I guess I came to a place of outrage.” She received education from American and British influences. “The African was very rarely heard or seen, or put in an obscure light. It was a one-dimensional, damaging image.” “I wanted to tell stories that countered that. I've said this a billion times, but it's a burden on my heart and also an outrage that leads me to want to explore a story and give it a dimension, as best as I can.” In one such story, a play called Eclipsed, Gurira writes about five Liberian women and their tale of survival near the end of the Second Liberian Civil War. It was nominated for a Tony Award and was the first play with an all-black and female creative cast and team to premiere on Broadway. “Then there are times when I'm just fascinated by something and have to pursue the story. But the burden is that I feel these stories need to be heard and I don't understand why they're not.” As she was working to shatter these ideas about Africans, other creatives were pursuing the same idea. “Black Panther was a real gift in the way that it was doing what I wanted to do all along and trying to do myself as a playwright.” As an actress, Gurira is best known for playing Michonne on The Walking Dead and Okoye in the Black Panther franchise. “They were bringing forth characters that we had never seen before.” This meant hiring a cultural advisor for Black Panther and working to be as authentic as possible. “The stakes were very high for us to hold nothing back. Thankfully, there was an open forum for that.” Want more? Steal my first book, Ink by the Barrel - Secrets From Prolific Writers right now for free. We're back with Bourbon Community Roundtable #94 and this one takes a single subject but it spins off into another. 2024 has seen the decline in whiskey sales and 2025 forecasts don't look much better. So have we finally eclipsed the peak of bourbon? A few years ago, there was a flourishing secondary market, droves of new people getting into the hobby, more options on the shelf, and massive expansions from all the big player. We've talked about this being a side-effect of the COVID boom but we also saw american whiskey get into more gimmicks and inflated prices. But we all still need the category to grow, so what's it going to take to reinvigorate more people to get into bourbon? Show Notes: Above the Char with Fred Minnick (@fredminnick) talks about documentaries on other spirits. Have we eclipsed the bourbon peak? What can be done to make it just as popular again? It was a week of happenings, not just for Lewis but for the nation as we experienced not only the Solar Eclipse, but a large earthquake for a swath of people in the East. Lewis found himself in Arizona for a charity golf outing, still managing to see the eclipse. Was it the advertised 75% darkness it was advertised as? Maybe not. Unfortunately, the usual crazies bubble up with conspiracy theories around these natural phenomenon (of course). Other newsworthy events include the dreaded annual Tax Day and the death of OJ Simpson opens re-ignites old wars in what might've been the inflection point of a new way the media operates. The rants are live this week as Lewis works through some live dates in the Northeast. Speaking of tour dates, fall dates of The Goodbye Yeller Brick Road have been announced and by the time you read this, they will be on sale through the F.U.C.K.U fan club with public on sale occurring Friday, April 19th . RANT #1 – Alan Whitman has a complaint about Maine's new beer laws RANT #2 – PN hates the Maine Weather RANT #3 – A student from the University of Maine's rants about its amenities RANT #4 – Wayne Harvey wants people to know it's just a comedy show ___________________ For advertising opportunities email: rantcast@thesyn.com ___________________ TOUR DATES: http://www.lewisblack.com/tickets GET MERCH: http://www.lewisblack.com/collections ____________________ SUBMIT RANTS TO LEWIS Have something you want to get off your chest? http://www.livelewis.com _____________________ SUBSCRIBE TO THE RANTCAST http://www.lewisblacksrantcast.com ____________________ FOLLOW LEWIS https://www.lewisblack.com https://www.instagram.com/thelewisblack https://twitter.com/thelewisblack https://www.facebook.com/thelewisblack https://www.youtube.com/OfficialLewisBlack Learn more about your ad choices. A trip to the path of totality, a yellow line that changed the world, and the impact of seeing the darkness in ourselves. This week we talk about trials. This is the third in a ten-part series on learning to love the Lord (and our neighbor) with all our soul. The soul is that part of you that is eternal. After death, after life, all you will be left with is your soul to carry on into eternity. If you don't learn to love with all your soul, you won't have any love left when life is over. "Remember, you are loved, so go, love better!"New episodes drop on Tuesdays.
With each eclipse there is a gradual obscuration of light, moments of total darkness, and the promise of light returned. A lot of news stories got missed or buried this week because of Monday's Eclipse in the United States. The media's fixation on this naturally occurring event (approximately once every 18 months somewhere on Earth) gave great cover to ignoring many important stories here in North America. Today, Bob puts on his “Newsman Hat” and digs into a few of the missed stories that impact our lives, not just in North America, but across the globe. Now, do you believe in this ministry? (0:00- 18:25) The word of the day is eclipse. Not just because there is a Solar eclipse, but because they opened up today's show talking about Tyrese Maxey, and how what he has done this season should not be eclipsed. (18:35-33:15) They also get into the Flyers collapse, and how John Tortorella should not be let off the hook. And get into tonight's National Championship game (33:24-43:24) They talk more about the Sixers win over the Spurs, if Dawn Staley should make a jump to coaching the men's game, and take your calls.
