The only FiveGamers Podcast with 4 gamers on it....
As suggested, we are still playing Monster Hunter Rise!Benteau is getting some Outriders in though, Jaime is finishing up some games (Like a Dragon) to keep us on track, and I’m back into Diablo 3. Season 23, I can’t avoid it.We also discuss some Resident Evil. No thank you, but there was a demo that came out and we got to experience some of that world.
With the release of Monster Hunter Rise is there anything else we need to talk about?I suppose we should hear from some people who don't have a Switch and see what they're playing....
Two of our members were aware of said event. Two others were not…. Take your guess as to who is aware and who isn’t.It was a pretty slow week so we discuss our played games, the Square Enix Event, and potential games falling off our Most Anticipated of 2021 lists.
Nintendo Direct or Blizzcon, which one had the bigger announcements? Or would you agree that it was all somewhat lackluster? It's been a while since we had a direct so maybe we were expecting too much? Also, we're talking about what we've been playing recently.
Mass Effect Remaster announcement is front of mind for some of us and let's talk about it shall we? We also discuss what we've been playing and it's starting to heat up!
With the end of the year we haven't had a chance to discuss games that we've played, finished, enjoyed, and hated. In this episode we go back to our standard and also discuss the whole Xbox Live Fiasco.
We’ve done our Games of the Year. Now it’s time to look forward to the next year and give our Most Anticipated Games of 2021.We also take a quick look backward and see if we’ve been able to play the top 5 games of our Most Anticipated Games of 2020. Controversial.Fernando caps off our episode with his top 5 Anime’s of 2020!
We do a little discussion of Cyberpunk, but the real reason we're here is to discuss our top 5 Games of the Year.
This week we talk about the Video Game awards and all the announcements that came from it. Fllowing that we discuss our last week episode, what we've been playing, and the big release that just came out. Cyberpunk 2077.
The gang is continuing to discuss PlayStation 5, cause of course, it’s coming right away if it hasn’t already happened! They talk about which games they’re excited for, which games they’re going to play first, and just which games they’re going to play in general. So let’s jump right in!
Fernando is obsessed with Genshin Impact, but much like Benteau, he’s really just counting down the days till the PS5 release. The gang talks about load times, what’s coming and what they're doing to try and kill the time until release.
The gang discusses the huge news of Microsoft purchasing Bethesda. What does that mean for exclusives? What does it mean for Elder Scrolls 6? So many questions and not enough answers...yet. And we're back to what we've been playing. More time and more games!
It’s been a minute, but we’re still here! The week prior a lot happened. The entire PS5 showcase which gave us prices, dates, and games, games, games! Nintendo had a mini direct which was a pure game showcase.
We all give our opinions on the news that next gen games could be going up and price and how that could affect the industry. What does Xbox need to do to impress on their upcoming first party games showcase? Can it convince the rest of the squad outside of Benteau to pick up an Xbox? Also some of the news such as Ubisoft executives leaving the company and WB games being for sale.
Well Last of Us 2 finally made it out and you can bet that Benteau and Jaime spent the weekend of release playing nothing but. They spend some time giving us their impressions without spoiling anything. Ivan finally beat God of War. And given the fact that everyone told him he would love it, they aren’t surprised to hear that he did. Fernando, back into games who knew! Persona is all he needed. Persona 5 Royal to be more specific. Then news, EA play, Mixer getting shutdown, and some continual Twitch issues.
Playstation 5 Event and our breakdowns of the games and the console.
For such a good price, how could Benteau pass up trying out Assassin’s Creed Origins? Needing a multiplayer game he’s started playing Ghost Recon and makes it sound pretty damn fun! And to lighten Fernando’s mood, Benteau tells us about how they make Fernando’s nemesis a robot support player, not a real player…. Animal Crossing, of course, for Ivan. Some God of War, slow and steady. Jaime bit the bullet and got the Syndicate and loves assassinating people. FFXIV is going to ruin his life, and now that he got the DLC it’s only going to get worse. The Witch and the Hundred Knights. What’s this you ask? It’s the game that finally got Fernando back into games! Cute, adorable, lovely. Just a few words that Fernando has used to describe it and are we surprised?
Crushing games left and right…. Guess who? That’s right. Jaime. In preparation of Last of Us 2 he FINALLY beat the remastered version and all DLC. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, again FINALLY beat it. Lego Marvel Super Heroes, then Final Fantasy 14…. Goodbye Jaime. Benteau is struggling cause all he wants is Last of Us 2. Diablo and Doom have helped him pass the time. God of War is awesome and will continue to be awesome until the next one. I’ve gone too deep in Animal Crossing…. Some news from PlayStation. Long games? Fans or no? Kind of a mixed opinion on that, but we mostly agree that quality wins over quantity.
Well it was promised and a long time coming. I finally got around to starting God of War. And the boys were well and truly right. Amazing! Jaime is still crushing FF7 remake. But also crushed FF7 original! Fernando has an addiction and it’s not ending anytime soon. Benteau has pulled an Ivan and played a whole hell of a lot of Diablo 3. Understandable cause it’s awesome. Then there’s the news on Xbox and what they have upcoming. Not a lot out for that, but some things coming soon.
As you are all experiencing, it’s a pretty slow time. What would be perfect for gaming has become a time of weird haze and mental fog. Some of us are doing okay, or going crazy, judge as you see fit. Others? Same old, same old. Not that that’s a bad thing!
Technical issues and Coronavirus have kept us off the air for a while now. But we found a way around all that and here we are. We have a lot to discuss, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Animal Crossing New Horizons, Jaime’s insanity, anime, and all manner of awesome things. So let’s get to it!
We trade an Ivan and a Jaime for Fernando and a Sam! We talk what we've been playing lately like Call of Duty, Sekiro and Ori and the Will of the Wisps! Also E3 being cancelled.
Platinums, Witcher, Sekiro. Pretty quiet week for 2 of the 3 of us. Jaime crushed Control and is giving us the lowdown. Seems like he really enjoyed it. Discussion held between him and Benteau seems to suggest it’s a good game.
We’re down to 3.We 3 are going strong. Bunch of new-ish games on the block and we’re killing it!The Witcher on Switch, Sekiro, and Xbox vs PlayStation. We got things to talk about.
The year has begun, now let us countdown our most anticipated games of the year!
More Death Stranding, more Pokémon, and more Diablo. Jaime’s actually been playing new old games, the Spyro games. Interesting…. A little nostalgia for Jaime. Deals have been made. If I can finish Death Stranding by the end of the year I get a pass on the end of the year blazin wings. If Fernando finishes both playthroughs of Resident Evil 2 he gets a pass. Do we both get a pass? Does one of us lose? Do we both lose??
Benteau gives us a detailed breakdown of Death Stranding and why I would love it. Fernando gushes over the new Pokémon and how amazing and cute it is. Jaime and I….. well, we’re keeping on with our usual business haha!
It’s been a minute! We took a break to extend to our Extra Life weekend, cause it’s always a good time to hear us snoring on the podcast. We got through it though, with some Control, Outer Worlds, Destiny, and a big throwback to Dragon Age Insquisition!
*Spoiler Warning*Link’s Awakening has consumed us all! (Except Jaime). It’s a fantastic game and we get into detail about why. Besides this game we haven’t been playing much. Jaime has been crushing Monster Hunter World still. We talk about the State of Play and everyone is hungering for more information on Last of Us 2 and theories abound. Finally we discuss VR, it’s future, the bright spots and potential.
We’re fresh off the start of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and loving it! We discuss progression, changes, the good, the bad (of which there is little), and the annoying. We discuss Gears of War 5, which sounds like a fun time, the Nintendo Direct and the Tokyo Game Show.
We talk Control, Fire Emblem, Judgment, Blood Stained and more!
A whole lot of Fire Emblem Three Houses talk. **Spoilers abound**'. Benteau crushed the game, so he gives us his insight and thoughts on it. Fernando is almost to the end and he is able to speak to the Golden Deer playthrough. Jaime and Ivan have been cruising through the standard. Finally, we’re all gearing up for Iceborne still.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses has come out and, as you might expect, there is much excitement among the resident Switch users. Benteau gives us the low-down along with Fernando probing to see what he might expect. Then we move on to the other exciting upcoming game, Iceborne. Which means that we’ve been playing a ton of Monster Hunter World so that we can all get up to snuff. Needless to say many adventures were had!
Bath water? Sure why not. would you buy some of ours for $100? Besides that discussion we then discuss the Stampede and how much we dislike it. Back to our gaming we are playing much of the same. Judgement, Diablo, Monster Hunter World, and Benteau trying something new with Mario Maker 2. Switch lite, Monster Hunter World, and Fire Emblem news to round us out.
Ivan is back and we go into great detail about his looong vacation. Post E3 blues means there’s no news. Jaime has started Judgement, Benteau is working through Hollow Knight, and Fernando is killing some giant ass monsters on Monster Hunter World (PC Edition though…).
We talk about everything E3 this year. We break down the conferences and pick our games of the show
We talk about what we've been playing and how weak this year has been for gaming. We also talk alot about movies!
A lot of going old school recently. Playing that Dishonored 2 game that is awesome, but then we’ve got a couple of guys deciding that they’ll play some new games! A little bit of the Division 2 and Cuphead on the Switch!
Fernando is kicking it real old school. Gameboy SP old school. Jaime is doing the same thing he do. Benteau is meh about video games still and I’m just cruising through the crafted worlds. News is good though. And the Marvel and DC universes are ramping up.
Finally some new things! Benteau gets us into Sekiro and we discuss the evolution of the souls games from Demon to Bloodborne and now Sekiro. I’ve started playing some Yoshi’s Crafted World and it’s about as cute as you would expect, I can barely handle it. Fernando has done a deep dive into the land that is Skyrim.
We start as we always do, with what we’ve been playing. A whole big fat nothing. Except Jaime, so we get Jaime to give us the scoop on Anthem and is it as bad as everyone says, is it as fun as it looks, will it beat out Destiny? All very good questions. Then we discuss Fernando’s favourite thing in the whole world. Pokemon.
After a small hiatus we are back. Lots to talk about! What we’ve been playing. Lots of betas, Smash, and Tetris! Then there was the first Nintendo Direct of 2019!
We review our most Anticipated Games of 2018 and see how we did. We discuss our failings in Ultimate Smash. Fernando is the first of us to start a new game this year, Tales of Vesperia! Jaime speaks on the split between Activision and Bungie, good or bad?
Most Anticipated of 2019 and our gaming goals of 2019.
The guys talk about what they’ve been playing. Benteau made his way back to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and was able to finish it and does his best to convince Fernando to make his way back to it. Fernando promises he’ll do his best, but he’s been busy crushing Persona 5 finishing it for a second time. He and Jaime do their best to convince Benteau to stick with it and power through to the end. Jaime tries his hand at Guacamelee 2 and passionately defends an Indie game’s right to be nominated for Game of the Year.
Video Game Award tally is announced on this episode, who might the winner be??? We also discuss any lingering saltiness over the VGA’s and what might be the reason for it. There was also a lot of announcements to come from the VGA’s and we discuss, what we’re looking forward to, what we were surprised by, and possibly, what underwhelmed us (surprising, I know). Not to be overshadowed, we also played some Smash Ultimate and discuss the new game.
This weeks episode features another quiet week from Jaime and a quiet week in general. We discuss the future of Sony next year, the director of Final Fantasy 15 leaving, and Cliff Bleszinski retiring. Fernando and I have both gotten a little further in Pokemon and Benteau finished Red Dead. You can guess what Jaime’s been playing….
We kept that Destiny lover Jaime quiet all podcast. Instead we talked about how surprised we were with Pokemon Let’s Go! There was no doubt that it was going to be a cute game, but this is ridiculously cute. The graphics stand out really well, but it has it’s flaws and we discuss those. We also get into some GOTY talk and discuss the merits of the games that have been nominated.
