Grab your backpacks and questionable decision-making, because it's time for another lesson in What Not to Bring to School! This week on Blurry Hysteria, we dive into two stories that have educators nationwide clutching their stress balls.First up, a student shows up to class with a live grenade for show-and-tell, proving once again that kids will literally bring anything to school—except a signed permission slip. Was it a cry for attention? A misunderstood prop? Or did this kid just take Call of Duty way too seriously? Then we slide straight into a wobbly mess of sugar and scandal as a kindergartner hands out jello shots like it's Mardi Gras in the cafeteria. Forget snack time, it's party time! (Just don't tell the principal. Or Child Protective Services.)It's all explosive fun (sometimes literally) on this week's Blurry Hysteria—where the only thing more questionable than these stories is how they even happened in the first place.Pack your juice box (not the Bot Booze spiked kind) and join us!Links & Resources

Holography has long lived in the shadow of science fiction, but what happens when it's finally real  and ready for the consumer market? In this episode recorded at Tech Talks Daily, I sit down with Darran Milne, co-founder and CEO of VividQ to unpack what sets true holography apart from the gimmicks. With a background in quantum physics and years of technical leadership, Darran cuts through the noise around immersive display technologies and explains how VividQ is building real holographic experiences — not tricks of the eye, but accurate 3D projections that replicate how we naturally see the world. Darran walks us through the technology powering their recent demo with Call of Duty, showing that VividQ's tech isn't just theoretical. It runs on today's hardware and can convert existing 3D content into holograms without access to the original source code. That changes the game for entertainment, but it's only the beginning. We explore where else this could lead: head-up displays in cars that genuinely blend digital directions into the driver's view, medical devices that eliminate the need for separate testing rooms, and even the idea of holography replacing traditional screens entirely. Darran doesn't just speculate on the future — he outlines a practical, layered rollout strategy, identifying the industries where the technology can scale first. This isn't about chasing hype. It's about thoughtful engineering and commercial execution. If your business touches gaming, automotive, spatial computing, or XR, this conversation shows why holography may be closer than you think — and how VividQ plans to put it in front of you. Could your next screen be light itself?

Send us a textThe prodigal map returns! After three long years of increasingly frustrating updates that drove away casual players, Call of Duty Warzone has finally listened to its community by bringing back Verdansk – and it might just be the game's saving grace.Stepping back into the familiar terrain feels like rediscovering an old favorite book. The buildings, sightlines, and strategic positioning that made the original Warzone so captivating are all here, but with thoughtful improvements that address previous shortcomings. The addition of natural cover throughout previously exposed areas, swimmable water bodies, and a refined loot system create a more balanced experience without sacrificing what made Verdansk special in the first place. For casual players who might only get a few hours of gameplay each week, this update represents a significant win. The return of map knowledge as a competitive advantage means that even if you can't dedicate eight hours daily to mastering movement mechanics, you can still leverage your familiarity with the environment to outsmart opponents. The one-shot headshot capability of sniper rifles has returned, vehicles can once again be countered effectively with explosives, and the original Gulag provides a balanced 1v1 environment that feels fair for both competitors.Perhaps most importantly, this update strikes the right balance between nostalgia and innovation. Rather than simply repackaging old content, Activision has carefully integrated modern improvements while maintaining the core experience that made Warzone a phenomenon in the first place. The floating loot visualization, progressive ground loot quality throughout match phases, and subtle terrain adjustments all enhance gameplay without fundamentally changing what worked. If you've been away from Warzone due to frustration with previous updates, now might be the perfect time to drop back in. The learning curve is significantly reduced for returning players, and the more balanced gameplay creates opportunities for both tactical play and high-octane action. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a curious newcomer, Verdansk's return offers the most accessible and enjoyable Warzone experience in years.Support the show

Welcome to episode #221 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we start off with the massive, yet unfortunate news of GTA VI being delayed until 2026. Though the demand is there for it to come out now, we cover why this delay is a good sign, and the importance of quality over hitting a deadline in gaming. We then shift to some rumors that are floating around regarding the battle pass for next year's COD. Rumor has it that there will be even more exclusive content and potential game modes that will be locked behind a paywall. This should come as no surprise, however it is a big concern regarding how far they take this, and we discuss the potential problems that could arise from this. What are your thoughts on delays in gaming? Does it bother you that GTA VI has been delayed into 2026, or are you excited regardless? What are your thoughts on the potential paywall in the battle pass for next year's COD? Would you buy it, or does it depend on what they have to offer? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! En omdat Rockstar niet al te veel communiceert, gaan mensen zelf zoeken. In deze afleveringen tonen wij je de meest pakkende theorieën.      While the Xbox console brand continues to wane, Microsoft's wise pivot to third party publishing is already paying dividends. According to recent financial reports, Xbox is now PlayStation's single biggest publishing partner, dominating PSN's very own pre-order and pre-load charts on the backs of Forza Horizon 5, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Doom: The Dark Ages, not to mention strong performance across its brands, from Activision Blizzard's Call of Duty to Mojang's Minecraft and beyond. It's weird, to be sure, but predictable, too: These one-time rivals are now intrinsically linked, with both sides benefiting mightily from this new normal. With Halo, Gears, Fable, and virtually everything else Xbox-related no doubt en route to PlayStation 5 as we move forward, how deep and fruitful can this new, unusual relationship become? Plus: Long-in-development China Hero Project darling Lost Soul Aside gets delayed, Borderlands 4 experiences the extremely rare move-up in release date, Electronic Arts lays off hundreds and cancels projects at Respawn, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Is it high-time for Sony to explore asymmetrical sticks for its controllers? Does PC gaming represent an existential threat to the console space? Should Sony tap Chinese mega-studio Virtuos to revive its old IP? Are we willing to endorse the new term "remakester?"Please keep in mind that our timestamps are approximate, and will often be slightly off due to dynamic ad placement.Timestamps: 0:00:00 - Intro  0:22:22 - Girl crying in the bathroom Part 3?  0:23:58 - Hi Jimi  0:24:35 - Sacred Wives  0:26:14 - Best man's speech gone wrong  0:38:04 - nerd slop  0:44:09 - Xbox is PlayStation's top publisher  1:07:11 - Lost Soul Aside delayed  1:13:25 - Borderlands 4 release date moved up  1:21:17 - EA and Respawn layoffs  1:35:38 - Video game sales numbers  1:39:18 - New PS+ essential games  1:49:36 - Split Fiction movie  1:53:23 - Until Dawn original writers not credited in the movie  1:59:07 - Polygon is done, Giant Bomb next likely  2:05:26 - What We've Been Playing  2:07:43 - Marathon  2:34:20 - Clair Obscur: Expedition 33  3:00:05 - Dualsense with asymmetric sticks  3:07:50 - Virtuos remakes  3:15:29 - Remakester  3:20:24 - Goofy games we liked  3:31:42 - PlayStation's future errors  3:39:27 - The best case scenario for the big three going forward   Learn more about your ad choices. "Digital did not ruin filmmaking. Digital gave us the Duplass brothers. Digital democratized it and then people were like, 'Oh well, it's not digital that's going to ruin it, it's this thing called YouTube that's going to ruin it.' And in fact YouTube is incredibly entertaining and good stuff percolates up all the time. And I would just say, sadly every new technology turn has been met with the same argument of it's going to ruin X, and yet it hasn't."Today's episode is a sit down with Matt's friend and award-winning film director, Ben Hansford, where they discuss AI and how it's affecting actors & the entertainment industry. Ben, one of the leading creatives in the A.I. & Machine Learning space (which he now teaches at USC), has worked on multi-national campaigns for some of the world's largest brands including  Nike, Old Spice, Bethesda, Call of Duty, Bungie, Activision, EA, X-Box, Microsoft, Mountain Dew, Marvel, & more. So sit back and enjoy this honest, thought-provoking conversation where Matt & Ben discuss AI and not only it's affect on actors, but the industry as a whole.10,000 NOs is here to inspire you and help you realize you are not alone if you're battling to overcome rejection in your career or life. So, if you're an actor, writer or filmmaker and you like what you hear in the snippets from our Working Actors Community zooms enough to want to be a part of it, CLICK HERE.Remember, “failure” is just opportunity in disguise, and you can flip the script to make your setbacks serve you.SHOW LINKS:10,000 NOs: THE BOOKSUBSCRIBE TO OUR (WEEKLY) NEWSLETTERFOLLOW MATT ON SOCIALFIND OUT HOW YOU CAN JOIN THE WORKING ACTORS COMMUNITY

Welcome to episode #220 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we have some serious news that has been leaked for COD 2026, and most of it is not looking good already. There was recently a leak regarding the movement system they plan to implement, and their choice to not be continuing with omni movement. We discuss the possible move going forward with COD where they stick to one movement system, or if this flip-flopping of systems is what they should continue for the future. There has also been leaks that the campaign for COD 2025 is not living up to expectations, thus leaving us wondering if developers could put more time into what really matters when making a good COD. What are your thoughts on developers continuing to create their own movement system every year instead of sticking with omni movement? Do you think it was a game-changing system, or has it been overhyped and developers should continue creating their own twist on the movement? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! Hope you all enjoy the episode and we'll see you next week.Follow us:Twitter: @TheCODCasualsInstagram: @TheCODCasualsTikTok: @TheCODCasualsContact us:Business Inquiries: TheCODCasuals@gmail.com

This is only a 2-parter, so this exciting episode will bring the curtain down on Lin Biao and his famous "Incident." We resume the story following the 1970 Lushan Plenum. Lin, or Lin's ambitious manipulators, pushed Chairman Mao just a bit too much at this meeting, and he decided to take immediate action. This whole 913 Incident, as you will hear, was a huge embarrassment to the Chinese Communist Party. Therefore, it's not surprising that they circled the wagons and went beyond the call of duty to cover up what could still be covered up. Mao had to be careful. With a history filled with men like Wang Mang, Zhu Wen, Zhao Kuangyin, and Yuan Shikai, he knew he had to watch these generals. So here's all the various fun bits of speculation surrounding the days of September 12-13, 1971. No Beatles references in this episode, though I was tempted to mention that Stella McCartney was born on the exact day of the plane crash that ended Lin Biao's life. Thanks everyone, for listening. Add a side of Space Force launches, mental health stigma, Ukraine-Russia peace rumors, and a DUI case that'll punch you in the gut.All killer, no filler — unless you count the commissary aisle.
