Welcome to episode #228 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! In this episode, we spend our time covering our final week of the CDL season covering our final predictions of the matches, and who we think have been the most impactful players throughout the year as we look towards Black Ops 7. Our main focus for today is the discussion around the CDL future, and a look towards the path forward for some of these players, as many have an uncertain future within the next few years. We look back at our favorite content creators from back in the day, and share our memories of when these creators stopped, and who were the ones that were able to continue to evolve and thrive. Finally, we end with covering a debate regarding gaming/gaming content as a career, and if it requires skill, and most importantly, if it is more difficult than a “normal” job. We share our thoughts on this, and would love to know yours! What do you think the future of the CDL looks like? Will it be around for years, or are they numbered? Will many pro players be able to continue to thrive in gaming, or will many have to look for a new career path? Finally, what do you think of the whole “gaming is harder than a 9-5” debate? Do you buy into it, or do you think each job has it's own skill set and challenges? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! Hope you all enjoy the episode and we'll see you next week.Follow us:Twitter: @TheCODCasualsInstagram: @TheCODCasualsTikTok: @TheCODCasualsContact us:Business Inquiries: TheCODCasuals@gmail.com

Welcome to episode #227 of The COD Casuals, where we discuss all things Call of Duty, casual and professional! We have finally made it to the end of the CDL main season. Champs is this week, and we finally get to see a conclusion to the season-long battle between FaZe and Thieves…assuming they are both in the grand finals. That being said, the hype and promotion for COD Champs has not been anywhere near the level you would expect for the biggest event of the year. We share our opinions on why this is the case, and give our opinions on what we think the CDL could do to be giving constant content during this long break we have been on. Finally, we close with our final bracket predictions, and give our case as to why we think we have the perfect bracket for the tournament. What do you think is going on with the lack of CDL promotion? Does the CDL care, or do you think it's just something they need to work on for next year? What do you think of our bracket? Do you agree or disagree? What do you think is going to be the outcome of this year's COD Champs? Please let us know as we discuss this and much more! The fallout of any Xbox showcase is always our favorite episodes to record as a duo! It gets us all involved and allows to pick with greater detail at whatever is on the community's mind as consuming so many trailers. Well, there's mostly one thing on Xbox fan's minds at the moment and it's if Outer Worlds 2 should be the second ever $80 game. There's no doubt about it that there are more to come, but should Call Of Duty have taken the fall? Is this price tag going to prevent The Outer Worlds 2 from reaching its peak popularity? We have many thoughts on this touchy subject, but also on the future of Windows combining itself with Xbox. With Xbox Play Anywhere, things are changing. I'm talking about, wait, no, E3 is gone, but its spirit lives on, in this disjointed days of virtual press conferences. Xbox had their Games Showcase and didn't show any of the tentpoles, Summer Games Fest knocked it out of the park with Resident Evil 9, and IGN Live tried to fill in some gaps. Plus, The Phoenician Scheme, Predator Killer of Killers, and Ballerina from the World of John Wick all get reviewed.

We are back once again as Summer Game Fest winds down with perhaps the biggest one of them all, the Xbox Games Showcase 2025. Did it take the crown as the best showcase of the entire event for the third year running? Or did it come crashing down with a wimper? Sean and Marc discuss the games and if the unveiling of the Xbox ROG Ally and Xbox ROG Ally X can provide enough to convince gamers to buy it? The duo also discusses their favorite games of SGF, and Marc talks about his time playing the Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster. Jeff and Christian welcome Anthony Taormina from Gamerant back to the show this week to discuss the deluge of game announcements from a packed week of Summer Games Fest. Everything shown at the Sony State of Play, and Microsoft's Xbox Showcase, plus the Summer Game Fest Live and Future Game Show. Then it's time to discuss the release of Switch 2 and Mario Kart World! It's a massive episode!
Xbox has been the gold standard for showcases these last two years. Whether it be their summer showcases or Developer Direct, they just seem to have a death grip on the rhythm needed to put on a good show along with well timed announcements. Well, no one stays hot forever, so it was inevitable that Xbox would come down to earth at some point. The question is, when they do, where would they end up? Fortunately, it wasn't terrible! We got a deep look at The Outer Worlds 2 while Double Fine finally came out of hiding with their atmospheric adventure game, Keeper. Clockwork Revolution stole the show with a 5+ minute trailer and, naturally, Call Of Duty is coming back again this year. Perhaps most noteworthy was the reveal of the ROG Xbox Ally X. As long reported, this partnership with ASUS will be the beginning of Xbox's handheld journey. Cog went hands-on, so we have to-the-minute thoughts on the user experience, UI updates, and performance testing! The Call of Duty Endowment stands apart in the veteran employment space by deploying an aggressive, business-driven system to vet, coach, and hold accountable the non-profits it funds to ensure only the highest-performing organizations are available to junior enlisted veterans seeking meaningful careers. With over 44,000 veteran-serving organizations in the U.S. alone, the Endowment's Seal of Distinction is earned through a rigorous, data-driven process: applicants must prove, with hard numbers, their effectiveness in placing veterans into high-quality jobs, their cost efficiency, and their organizational integrity. This isn't a one-time check. CODE — in partnership with Deloitte — conducts ongoing audits and only those who consistently deliver results receive continued funding and support. If a grantee fails to meet placement or quality targets, they're coached intensively; if they still fall short, CODE moves on, scaling up only those partners who prove their impact year after year. For transitioning veterans, especially junior enlisted, this relentless vetting and accountability means you never have to navigate the chaos of career transition alone or risk wasting time with underperforming organizations. Don't get lost in a sea of 40,000 choices or settle for generic advice: the Call of Duty Endowment has already done the hard work of finding, funding, and improving the best. You owe it to yourself to leverage these resources because your service deserves more than a transition, it deserves a launchpad to a truly meaningful civilian career. Visit the Call of Duty Endowment's website, connect with a vetted partner, and take control of your next mission. Episode Sponsors: VM Merch Go Pills -- use "VM15" at checkout for 15% off your order. ABOUT MEDAL OF HONOR SEASON 2 Rewarded for bravery that goes above and beyond the call of duty, the Medal of Honor is the United States' top military decoration.
