I call this episode eliminate the option, because I feel a lot of us go into a situation with the option of quitting, or finding something better and this takes away from actually putting the work in. I give three different examples of what I saw as a kid of three different marriages who never gave up and survived the test of time. One even dealing with addiction and never giving up on their spouse. I feel like today too many times we are more willing to give up than fight. With everything going on in my life I recorded this episode about two months ago. But with my recent promotion I decided to re-record it. In 2019 I checked in to my new command and sat down with my supervisor, now friend and mentor to review my record. He gave me an honest assessment and told me if I want to promote I would have to give it all I had just to have a chance. So I went back to my friends house where I was staying contemplating retiring then. But Shelly and My wife said keep pushing Frankie you can do it. I decided to talk about refocusing because I know I was not focused on what I needed to be focused on.
