As I delve into the intricacies of Project 2025, a sweeping initiative crafted by The Heritage Foundation, a prominent conservative think tank, it becomes clear that this project is more than just a policy blueprint – it's a vision for a fundamentally transformed American government. The ties between Project 2025 and the Trump administration are undeniable, despite President Trump's attempts to distance himself from it.Project 2025 is the brainchild of over 400 scholars and policy experts from the conservative movement, many of whom have direct connections to Trump's first administration and his 2024 election campaign. Kevin Roberts, the President of The Heritage Foundation, who was part of Trump's transition team in 2016, has openly described the project's goal as "institutionalizing Trumpism"[1][5].One of the most striking aspects of Project 2025 is its ambitious plan to reshape the federal government. The project advocates for replacing merit-based federal civil service workers with individuals loyal to Trump, effectively taking partisan control of key government agencies such as the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Federal Trade Commission. This move is designed to consolidate executive power and align these agencies with Trump's political agenda[5].The project also proposes significant structural changes to various federal agencies. For instance, it recommends dismantling the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Education. The Department of Homeland Security, crucial for national security and disaster response, would be disbanded, while the Department of Education, vital for educational policy and funding, would cease to exist. These changes reflect a broader theme of reducing federal oversight and shifting responsibilities to state and local levels[5].In the realm of disaster response, Project 2025 suggests reforming FEMA's emergency spending to shift the majority of preparedness and response costs to states and localities. Currently, FEMA covers at least 75% of the costs for disaster response and recovery; under the new plan, the federal government would cover only 25% of the costs for small disasters and up to 75% for "truly catastrophic disasters." This change is justified by the project's authors, who argue that FEMA is "overtasked, overcompensates for the lack of state and local preparedness and response, and is regularly in deep debt"[2].The project's policy proposals extend far beyond structural changes to federal agencies. It includes a wide range of policy objectives that align with conservative and Christian right ideologies. For example, it proposes reducing environmental regulations to favor fossil fuels, making the National Institutes of Health less independent, and defunding its stem cell research. The plan also calls for reducing taxes on corporations and instituting a flat income tax on individuals, while cutting Medicare and Medicaid. These economic policies are designed to reduce the federal government's role in social welfare and healthcare[5].Social and cultural issues are also central to Project 2025. The project recommends criminalizing pornography, removing legal protections against anti-LGBT discrimination, and ending diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. Instead, the Department of Justice would focus on prosecuting what the project terms "anti-white racism." Additionally, it proposes laws that would criminalize the sending and receiving of abortion and birth control medications and eliminate coverage of emergency contraception. These proposals reflect a strong alignment with the Christian right's agenda[5].The immigration policy under Project 2025 is particularly stringent. It calls for the arrest, detention, and mass deportation of illegal immigrants and suggests deploying the U.S. Armed Forces for domestic law enforcement. This approach is part of a broader strategy to tighten border control and enforce strict immigration laws[5].As President Trump marks his first 100 days in his second term, many of his policies have begun to mirror or partially mirror the proposals outlined in Project 2025. Nearly two-thirds of Trump's executive actions have been found to align with the project's goals, according to an analysis by *Time*. This alignment is not coincidental; several Trump campaign officials maintained close contact with Project 2025, seeing its goals as integral to their *Agenda 47* program[5].The implications of Project 2025 are far-reaching and have sparked significant concern among civil rights and civil liberties advocates. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has detailed the potential challenges a second Trump presidency, influenced by Project 2025, would pose. The ACLU plans to go to court to preserve and advance rights related to immigration, LGBTQ issues, abortion access, nondiscrimination laws, voting rights, and free speech. They also intend to work with Congress to enact policy solutions and provide oversight to counter the most extreme proposals of Project 2025[1].As we look ahead, the implementation of Project 2025's policies will likely face numerous challenges and legal battles. The ACLU and other advocacy groups are already organizing in communities to educate the public about the potential harms of these policies and what they can do to protect their rights. The coming months will be crucial as Congress and the courts grapple with the constitutional and ethical implications of these sweeping changes. In conclusion, Project 2025 represents a profound shift in American governance, one that seeks to consolidate executive power, reduce federal oversight, and align government policies with a conservative and Christian right agenda. As the country navigates these changes, it is imperative to remain vigilant and informed about the potential impacts on civil rights, social welfare, and the very fabric of American democracy. The future of these policies will depend on the actions of lawmakers, judges, and the public's engagement in the democratic process.

After all, he is our brother, our own flesh." His brothers paid attention to him.Slave to government officialGenesis 39:1-6aYosef was brought down to Egypt, and Potifar, an officer of Pharaoh's and captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Yishma`elim who had brought him there. Adonai was with Yosef, and he became wealthy while he was in the household of his master the Egyptian. His master saw how Adonai was with him, that Adonai prospered everything he did. Yosef pleased him as he served him, and his master appointed him manager of his household; he entrusted all his possessions to Yosef. From the time he appointed him manager of his household and all his possessions, Adonai blessed the Egyptian's household for Yosef's sake; Adonai's blessing was on all he owned, whether in the house or in the field. So he left all his possessions in Yosef's care; and because he had him, he paid no attention to his affairs, except for the food he ate.Slave to Sexual HarassmentGenesis 39:6b-10Now Yosef was well-built and handsome as well. In time, the day came when his master's wife took a look at Yosef and said, "Sleep with me!" But he refused, saying to his master's wife, "Look, because my master has me, he doesn't know what's going on in this house. He has put all his possessions in my charge. In this house I am his equal; he hasn't withheld anything from me except yourself, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against G_d?" But she kept pressing him, day after day. Nevertheless, he didn't listen to her; he refused to sleep with her or even be with her.Slave to MatriarchyGenesis 39:11-18However, one day, when he went into the house to do his work, and none of the men living in the house was there indoors, she grabbed him by his robe and said, "Sleep with me!" But he fled, leaving his robe in her hand, and got himself outside. When she saw that he had left his robe in her hand and had escaped, she called the men of her house and said to them, "Look at this! My husband brought in a Hebrew to make fools of us. He came in and wanted to sleep with me, but I yelled out loudly. When he heard me yelling like that, he left his robe with me and ran out." She put the robe aside until his master came home. Then she said to him, "This Hebrew slave you brought us came in to make a fool of me. But when I yelled out, he left his robe with me and fled outside."Slave to SimpismGenesis 39:19-20When his master heard what his wife said as she showed him, "Here's what your slave did to me," he became furious. Yosef's master took him and put him in prison, in the place where the king's prisoners were kept; and there he was in the prison.Slave to penal systemGenesis 39:21-22But Adonai was with Yosef, showing him grace and giving him favor in the sight of the prison warden. The prison warden made Yosef supervisor of all the prisoners in the prison; so that whatever they did there, he was in charge of it.Slave to AdonaiGenesis 39:23The prison warden paid no attention to anything Yosef did, because Adonai was with him; and whatever he did, Adonai prospered.Credits:https://unsplash.com/photos/a-close-up-of-a-bicycle-handlebar-0-MhLbNrwM4https://unsplash.com/photos/a-bunch-of-chains-that-are-stacked-together-Wltax1jI6cs

If your goal is to strategize and get ahead at all costs, that's a path you can choose. However, if you believe there are more important things, consider embracing authenticity and aiming for personal happiness. Plus, Ryan gets an early glimpse of summer, Craig reveals the amazing choice for the first mp3 he ever downloaded, and one beer actually gets docked for being “too drinkable. We need the help of our listeners to continue to record and edit, and to promote a product that has been a balm and instructive to so many.  Just 36 dollars, a minimum donation, from a thousand of you out there will keep us afloat as a New Ark of straight, intelligent, and humorous discussion, lectures, debate and inquiry - while the destructive waters of ignorance and politics crash around us. Join us on Patreon: https://patreon.com/kindmind Understanding the nature of knowledge has been a timeless pursuit for thinkers and seekers throughout history. This branch of study in philosophy is often referred to as epistemology. There is an interplay between sensory perception, intellectual understanding and the notion of objective truth. The limitations, complexities, and transformative power inherent in the quest for knowledge cannot be understated. What does it mean to KNOW something? HOW does one know something? We are never able to fully stand outside the world and its apparent parts in order to objectively examine as separate from ourselves. Absolute truth may be like the horizon that ever expands as we attempt to approach it, revealing new frontiers and the endless depth of unknowing.Power dynamics play a significant role in the production and dissemination of knowledge. Institutionalized structures, privileges and biases can influence whose "knowledge" is valued and whose perspectives are marginalized. Recognizing and challenging these power imbalances is vital to foster a more inclusive and equitable knowledge ecosystem. We might consider the restorative potential of egalitarian inquiry and the implications of its obstruction. Some research methodologies require significant resources such as labor, money and time to gain access to knowledge. Who is able to participate and how might our understanding of the world be different otherwise? An ethical dimension emerges when contemplating the function of knowledge. While knowledge empowers and enlightens, it can also be a double-edged sword, capable of destruction and exploitation. Moral responsibility requires discernment in how knowledge is acquired, shared, and applied. The preservation of certain knowledge, such as the occult, may have been conceived as a protective measure, honoring the need for maturity and wisdom in its application. This episode explores the interconnectedness of these thought-fragments. Like a mosaic, knowledge can be taken as relatively complete depending on where you look, while paradoxically offering countless possibilities for continuation.

SEASON 2 EPISODE 10: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:43) SPECIAL COMMENT: Jack Smith didn't want Trump's TWEETS! He wanted Trump's Direct Messages and his unsent drafts! Who needs a court order to GET a copy of all of Trump's tweets and other social media posts? It feels like you need a court order to AVOID Trump's tweets and other social media posts. He was looking for - and all the statements by the judge unsealed yesterday confirms this - for the DM's Trump sent, and any sent TO him. And anything still in the draft folders because I was reminded yesterday that 20 years ago terrorists like Khalid Sheik Mohammed and The Shoe-Bomber, and ordinary criminals like David Petraeus simply bypassed the risks of texts and apps by leaving messages IN THE DRAFT FOLDER of email accounts their shared with the messages' recipients.  You could do that with Twitter! And we KNOW Trump shared that account with other people - he sometimes wrote his own tweets and sometimes dictated them.  And he could also be able to get stuff Trump deleted. What? You think when you hit the "Delete" button it vanishes from the universe? Even your drafts? I mean Twitter was willing to turn all this stuff over to the Special Counsel but it wanted to alert Trump first and the judge said no, that'll give him the chance to destroy evidence and ALERT OTHERS and originally she thought it might lead him to "flee prosecution." Hell to the Yeah! And the headline is: Smith wanted all that stuff. And he got it. Also: details leaking on The Atlanta prosecutions, Trump wastes a delay move by demanding a SCIF at Mar-a-Lago when no judge can order one to be built, and yes, a fly landed on Trump's face during his interview with NewsMax. A REAL fly - not NewsMax's Eric Bolling. B-Block (20:15) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Trump stochastic terrorist who threatened Biden and those prosecuting Trump on Facebook is killed while the FBI serves him a warrant. And the late Robbie Robertson, not only an extraordinary musical figure but also the unchallenged winner of Twitter (23:15) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Dictator DeSantis usurps yet another elected official, Ken Starr's evil nephew orders lawyers to take religious training, and the Air Force UFO Whistleblower? Institutionalized five years ago after an episode in which it was determined he was a potential danger to himself. C-Block (29:51) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: It's Elvis Week! That means it was this week, 46 years ago, when a commercial I made for an Elvis concert in Syracuse - maybe the last one ANYBODY made - had to be pulled off our air because... well, you know. Welcome to part III of this really important Latter Day Struggles mini-series exploring the topic of how all organizations (our church included) create hierarchical systems with those in power and those who are seen as deviant, ‘other' or an ‘out-group' in some way.   So far in this series we have explained the psychological phenomenon itself, zoomed in on how this plays out on the ground in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and now we are going to spend the next two episodes walking through the six-step process of how humans create those groupings whom we choose to dominate, subjugate, and marginalize.    This episode tackles in detail the first three steps:   1) Mark the difference in a group of people who are unlike yourself.  2) Stigmatize the difference. 3) Institutionalize the discrimination practiced against the group. FRIDAY'S episode IV (accessed by following the subscription link at the end of the show notes) tackles steps 4-6.    In these next two episodes (today's and Fridays) Val and Nathan will offer both historical and current examples of how each of these steps in the creation of marginalized “out-group” populations looks both within the LDS faith and in other contexts.   Get ready to have your mind further expanded.   Here is the link to the book being referenced in this series: “Living with History: Making Social Change by Gerta Lerner:   https://a.co/d/5wEvMqp Here is the link to subscribe and listen to the next episode in this series [and every Friday episode].           https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/valerie-hamaker/subscribe?fbclid=PAAaZOujT5Iv-ArVKxx_ZnsJryIeK7uymznxXxCfmDAjArPXxc9c6MCky899g_aem_ATa689KXBF31ycMSoST32hApZpdhYUynZdSHSbNSgCplOwFGXHIYlkS8IOvJbd5xJbU ___________________________________________________________________________  To financially support Valerie's ongoing ability to provide this content to you and others, become a patron of Latter Day Struggles here:https://www.patreon.com/LatterDayStruggles ____________________________________________________________________________ LIVE:  COURSES I and II of “A Couple's Guide to Faith Crisis and Expansion”.
