After finally catching up on Friday, August 21 Shalini and Leonica talk about Leonica's run for School Board - www.leonicaforthepeople.com and life in general. After our quick catch up the Jacob Blake shooting happened and not long after that, protesters were shot by a man who got the royal treatment, imho, from authorities. Maddening. I wanted to publish this August 2020 audio journal quickly because the trauma train is moving fast. Thank you for listening, subscribing, sharing, and 5 stars! #justiceforbreonna #justiceforjake #justiceforall
Thanks to my friend Johanna Bogater for taking the time to chat with me about her work on the political scene, forming a PAC and life. We’ve known each other a long time and I’ve been excited watching her journey. I continue having conversations with friends who’ll talk about how we can make the world better. It’s an audio journal. Sometimes we vent and sometimes we strategize. After this recording I was reminded that we need to get the right people in to those rooms “where it happens”. Find out how you can get involved. Little by little we'll chip away and good will overcome evil. I have to believe. Here are a few links: https://www.wethepeoplemi.org https://orgfl.org Thanks for a female rendition of the #hamiltonmusical hit, The Room Where it Happens cover by: Justine M.
I Don't Care If You Listen, but if you do, this week you'll hear my friend Abby and I journal our experience in the time of Covid and a Great Awakening as fellow Americans, with different perspectives, trying to make it work. Let's start asking each other questions about race. What can we do to affect change in our own worlds. I love hip hop, she loves country, but we can come together on quite a few things including respect for HUMANITY! Check out new music from The Chicks for a little inspiration. Email IDCIYLPodcast@gmail.com with feedback or if you have something you'd like to share. I'm always looking for great conversations! Thanks or 5 star ratings and sharing with friends.
Hi! Shalini here. Thanks for humoring me and spending some time listening to my friends and I get stuff off our chests. I hope you'll all appreciate that Leonica, Chuntay and I are friends from ages ago who have a unique bond that keeps bringing us back to each other as we navigate this time in history. Welcome to our audio journal where we keep it 100% real with what's happening. Of course staying positive is what we all strive to do, but this is our safe space to share and unload. Please forgive EXPLICIT language and take some time to listen to my sisters explain some things from their point of you. I'm excited to share other points of view too so anytime you want to unload, get things off your chest, or just comment on things, reach out. I look forward to hearing from you. Facebook, IDCIYLPodcast@gmail.com or comment here! Thanks for subscribing and for a 5 star rating. This episode was recorded on Friday, June 26th. App. one month after protests began. We experienced some audio issues, I hope you can listen past. Let's keep the conversations happening friends!!! Agree, challenge, engage, debate, let's talk. Truly, Shalini
