Happy Saturday! We’re back with another round of listener Q&A. This week you asked:
Hi. How are you? This is Guilherme, back with a new episode of the Inglês Diário podcast. Hope you are all doing well. Happy Saturday! It's a pretty nice morning here in Sorocaba where I am. I'm actually recording this while having my first cup of coffee of the day, just relaxing a bit.Today, I want to talk about something that is… I think almost everyone struggles with or has difficulties with. I'm talking about procrastination. You know, when you have something important to do, but you decide to watch just one more episode on Netflix instead?Let me tell you about my week. I have to do my income taxes (which in Portuguese is imposto de renda). Now, I don't know about you, but I absolutely hate doing taxes. Looking at receipts, filling out forms... it's just so boring. So, I knew I had to do it on Monday. But Monday came, and I thought, “Well, I'm kind of tired today. I'll do it tomorrow.”I decided to put it off. To put off doing something. Put off. P-U-T, and then O-F-F. When you put something off, you delay it. You leave it for later. You know you have a responsibility, but you just push it to the future. I put off doing my taxes on Monday. Then Tuesday came, and my friend called to go get a burger. So, I put it off again. You can put off going to the dentist, you can put off studying for an exam, or, I mean, you can put off cleaning your house. So, fast forward to today. The deadline to send my taxes to the accountant is tomorrow morning. I kept putting it off, and now, the situation has gone right down to the wire. Down to the wire.Let's break this one down, because I really love the visual here. Imagine a race, let's say, a horse race or a track and field race. In the old days, they used to stretch a literal physical wire right across the finish line. If a race was super competitive, the runners would be neck and neck (very close to one another) , and you wouldn't know who the winner was until the very last second when someone touched that wire. So, when we say a situation goes down to the wire, it means it is happening at the very last possible minute. There is no time left. Because I kept putting off my taxes, I am now rushing to finish them down to the wire. If I have a big project at work and I finish it five minutes before the presentation, that project went down to the wire. It's stressful, you know? But for some reason, we all do it.So, here is my question for you today: Are you a procrastinator? What is a task that you always put off doing? Do you put off cleaning your room? Do you put off doing your homework? And does it usually go down to the wire, where you are rushing at the last minute?Let me know. Go to the blog, leave a comment, and I'll see you next time. Bye!

Happy Saturday! We’re back with another batch of listener questions. This week you asked:
Happy Saturday, Regular People — welcome to Potluck Saturday, where today we're diving into OnlyFans, judgment, and why everyone seriously needs to calm down. This week, we unpack how Shannon Elizabeth and Jaime Pressly joining OnlyFans says less about scandal and more about where the entertainment business is headed. We talk about how fame doesn't always equal financial security, why talent can outlive the paycheck system Hollywood was built on, and how going directly to your audience may be the future for creators everywhere. We also get into why judging other people drains your own energy, how women are still judged harder and punished faster, and why women who mirror behavior men have gotten away with for decades are suddenly labeled “difficult.” Plus, we explore how light can trigger darkness in other people, and why building your own world instead of waiting for approval may be the ultimate form of revenge. Potluck Bonus: Gary Coleman, Bhad Bhabie's bag of cash, Dog & Pony Show shoutouts, keyboard warriors, whether women can sometimes be meaner than men, and Max the dog weighing in with facts. Nathan has been working nonstop on the fire investigation.Joseph walks into the church and finds Gowen sitting quietly with his thoughts. Joseph asks what he would do if someone he loved did something really bad — something unforgivable. Gowen is clearly conflicted. Joseph offers some advice and heads out.Nathan and Bill catch up on the investigation. The concrete hasn't led to much. Then a new Mountie named Briggs arrives to help — and Georgie and Bill are PUMPED.Lucas hears Edie downstairs moving tables. He asks her out to dinner, but she's busy throwing a poker party to raise money for the Bensen Hills rebuilding committee.Faith stops by the Canfield house with good news — Gwen's dad is no longer at risk of infection and can have visitors. Gwen wants to go right away, and Lee happily agrees.Briggs shows up with a fancy new device: a polygraph machine. They hook Ollie up to it for questioning. Nathan says he has one last question — thankfully, it's not about Allie.A new contractor arrives in town: Fernando Arroyo. Lucas meets him and immediately takes a liking to him.Lee and Gwen stop at a gas station on the way to the hospital, but Gwen gets nervous and says she doesn't want to go anymore. Lee gently agrees and says they can head home instead.Meanwhile, Gowen meets with his son and tells him he knows about the fire, encouraging him to do the right thing.Instead of going home, Lee takes Gwen fishing. She opens up about being afraid of hospitals because her mom died in one — she doesn't want to lose her dad too. Lee reassures her that her dad is just in a cast and will be okay. Then she catches a fish. Win-win.Georgie and Bill come over to Elizabeth and Nathan's for dinner — there's lemon curd. Nathan claims it's his favorite. Bill immediately calls him out: “YOU LIE.”They take him to the polygraph machine, and sure enough — he's lying. Nathan admits he loves the lemon curd because he loves Elizabeth.Little Jack (LG!) then asks if Nathan wants to marry his mom. Nathan freezes… and before he can answer, Gowen's son bursts in.He confesses that he caused the fire — and that the electric company helped cover it up.At the charity poker night, Edie arrives and sees Fernando. Lucas is stunned to learn Fernando is her ex-fiancé.Nathan and Bill go to tell the boys they didn't start the fire after all. Finally, Nathan apologizes to Elizabeth, tells her he loves her, and asks if that's okay for now.She says yes. From now on, he wants to be known as LG. Our boy is all grown up.Lee shows Gwen his plans to rebuild Benson Hills. Rosemary bought Gwen a pair of overalls—and she actually loves them.Nathan notices how much time Allie is spending with Ollie, and he is not thrilled about it.Gowen is talking with his son, who has great news: he got a promotion at the electric company. He also asks Gowen to give the father-of-the-groom toast at his wedding, which makes Gowen incredibly happy.Cooper and Toby show up late to class without their assignment done—and their shoes are covered in dirt. What are those boys up to?Lee makes his pitch to the council about rebuilding Benson Hills, and it goes really well.Later, Lee and Nathan check out the fire pit in the woods that may have started the wildfire when Ollie suddenly finds a fossil. He's pumped. Bill is even more pumped. But they also find some cement nearby. Could that mean something? They bring Gowen in to take a look, and he brushes it off as probably nothing.Elizabeth sees the boys heading into the woods with gear, so she follows them. Turns out, they're planting trees—trying to make things right after the fire. Elizabeth joins in to help.Nathan is in full grumpy dad mode this episode because of how much time Allie and Ollie are spending together. When he catches them talking during work hours, he lectures Ollie about responsibility and being worthy…of a job.Lee comes home with great news—he got the contract to rebuild! Gwen gives him a drawing of her old house and asks him to rebuild it exactly as it was, cracked window and all.Allie, Ollie, and Bill head back into the woods to dig for fossils, which makes Allie late for dinner. Nathan snaps at her, immediately regrets it, and goes to talk things through with Elizabeth.Meanwhile, Lee is showing Rosemary more building plans when he suddenly drops his pencil and doesn't feel right. She rushes him to see Faith.Nathan and Allie make up, and Allie's like, “I don't know why you think I'm in love with Ollie.”At school the next day, Elizabeth sends all the kids outside to plant trees—for the lesson, of course. At the doctor's office, Lee is relieved to learn he didn't have a heart attack. Faith thinks it was an anxiety attack and tells him he needs to slow down.
