The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the 6th study session on Gregg Olsen's If You Loving You Is Wrong, which investigates the scandalous, Tragic Arrangement between White Puget Sound schoolteacher Mary Kay Letourneau and her 12-year-old non-white student, Vili Fualaau. When speaking with Neely Fuller Jr. many years ago about why it's incorrect for White people to engage in sexual activity with non-white people, he cited the Letourneau case. At the time, Gus shamelessly admitted being ignorant about this incident. Fuller paused briefly before asking Gus to confirm that he was dialing from Seattle's 206 area code. Chatting all the way from Washington, D.C., Fuller knew all the tacky details of this case and how it corroborates his counter-racist code, which prohibits sexual activity between White and non-white people. Last week, we learned about the depths of Mary Kay's depravity and complete lack of regard for children. Even after being arrested for child rape and being ordered to remain away from "the brown boy," Mary Kay attempts to enlist the help of 13-year-old Katie Hodgins to send prohibited messages to Vili. While Mary Kay is described as perfect and blond, Vili is mostly presented as a "thug" and a "gangster" who steals coats and maybe kidnaps White Women. #IDontSeeNothingWrong INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: http://cash.app/$TheCOWS Call: 720.716.7300 Code: 564943#

The Context of White Supremacy welcomes the return of Dr. Angelyn Spaulding Flowers. A professor and coordinator of the Crime, Justice, and Security Studies Program at the University of the District of Columbia, Dr. Fowler is classified as a black female. She's one of the few black researchers who's written about the US scourge of mass casualty school shootings. Dr. Flowers helped Gus and C.O.W.S. listeners establish a superb foundation for understanding school shootings in the US (and the world?). On this, her third visit, we'll discuss her 2025 publication, White Christian Nationalism in the United States: A Rising Tide Sinks All Boats - which examines the critical role of the Religion of White Supremacy to better understand the thought, speech, actions and emotions of many people classified as White. A crucial component of this bias and an indispensable component of the current White Supremacist zeitgeist is the fear of White Genetic Annihilation. White Jesus has ordained the System of White Supremacy and everything must be done to ensure White genetic survival & White domination - which may be one and the same. Dr. Flowers and Gus had a grand exchange on role of White Women in the System of White Supremacy and her supposition that black males engage in systemic oppression of black females. #WhiteJesus #INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: http://cash.app/$TheCOWS

Dr. Monnica Williams alongside Sue Marriott explore the deep psychological toll of racism, focusing on the concept of racial trauma and its cumulative impact on people of color. She highlights the importance of recognizing these experiences within therapeutic settings and the need for diversity in mental health research and practice. The discussion delves into the role of civil courage and meaningful allyship—particularly among white individuals in addressing systemic injustice. Dr. Williams offers insights into the multifaceted nature of activism, the harm caused by microaggressions, and the emotional labor involved in navigating everyday racism. From the fear of law enforcement to the unique challenges faced by white women in activism, Dr. Williams urges practitioners and allies alike to listen deeply, receive feedback openly, and use their privilege to support marginalized communities. Authentic relationships between Black and white women in higher education are often difficult to cultivate—made more so by the persistent realities of misogynoir and the role white women can play in perpetuating harm. In this powerful episode, co-hosted by Heather Shea and Raechele Pope, we're joined by Drs. Christina Holmgren, Leah Fulton, and Jayne Sommers to explore the preliminary findings of their ongoing research with Black women in student affairs. Together, they share stories, insights, and a new model for building reciprocal, accountable relationships that move us beyond performative allyship and toward real connection and change.

More than a year after the murder and dismemberment of the 19-year-old teen, Suspected Racist Maxwell Anderson is accused of arson, dismemberment, hiding a corpse and homicide. We'll detail the composition of the jury and what this process looked like up close. The jury is mostly White Women and has at least 3 non-white people. It was a challenge to closely inspect all 15 of the final jurors faces as they were dispersed throughout the courtroom. This will be one the first items to confirm on Wednesday morning. NOTE: This week's episode may not be easy to listen to, and it may make people uncomfortable. But it's important. If we want to unpack our misogyny, we must also unpack our racism. Please listen with an open mind and heart. Recently, a creator called the White Woman Whisperer made a video about how white women are often the "nice guys" of women. While this may be hard to hear, in the episode, we break down why it's quite accurate. Our guest this week is Jamila Bradley, an incredible creator, activist, and proud person of color who was criticized after posting a video about the Met Gala. And these attacks weren't coming just from strangers. They were coming from the very women who called themselves allies. These white women were happy to engage and support Jamila's feminist content. But the second Jamila brought race into the conversation, these "allies" became adversaries. A feeling all too familiar for Jamila and other people of color. JAMILA'S LINKS Linktree Youtube

In this vital episode, Julie and Ginger dive into the intersection of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) with trauma-informed practices. As DEI comes under political and cultural scrutiny, the hosts make the case that there is no trauma-informed approach without embracing DEI.DEI is not optional for trauma-informed practice—it is essential.Diversity includes more than race: gender, neurodiversity, age, ability, and lived experience.Equity means adjusting systems and supports so everyone can thrive.Privilege isn't shameful—it's an opportunity to advocate and build awareness.Systems can either heal or harm—it's up to us to make them more inclusive.Diverse environments enhance safety, fairness, innovation, and connection.
