Trust that you are enough, and trust yourself to make aligned decisions. ⠀ ⠀ I used to lack sooooooo much confidence and although it takes time and patience, creating confidence happens when you decide to no longer decide to stay where you are and continually step out of your comfort zone. ⠀ ⠀ If you intend on creating a level of self-Confidence you’ve never had before I would start with these two things: ⠀ ⠀ First make a list of all the areas in which you don’t trust yourself right now- this will help expand your self-awareness! ⠀ ⠀ Second, make a list of all the people in your life you DO trust… and why. So you’re all dolled up for a holiday party and things are going great until your friend whips out her phone and demands that you all take a group picture… full body. You really don’t want to take a picture because you’ve been bumming about a few extra pounds lately and you absolutely HATE the way you look next to your 22yr old friend who’s got a banging body and has yet to know the struggles of post-breastfeeding boob saggage, and not to mention you just gobbled down like a million pieces of cheese off that charcuterie board. But you don’t want to NOT be in the photo because then you’d be the odd woman out and then everyone in the room would definitely want to try and pump you up with all kinds of comments that, let’s be real, are deflected as quickly as they are dished out. So you take the picture, and you feel like you just HAVE to see it immediately and give the stamp of approval or else you are totally going to demand that your friend delete it and take another one so you have a second chance at nailing that ass-out, leg-popped, shoulders back pose. Ladies… what the shit?! Do you feel me on this?? Raise your hand if you’ve ever been even remotely close to experiencing something like this. What if I’m not good enough to be here? What if they find out that I’m not as awesome as they think I am.” Girlfriend, you have a worthiness problem. I myself have been in this space many times and found myself struggling to see myself as the talented individual my superiors saw me as… even after I had been awarded the promotion! Have you ever walked into a room and just felt like it swallowed you up whole? Or felt like you disappeared and became a wallflower? Maybe you dread walking into a room full of people you don’t know because the idea of having to talk a bunch of people is overwhelming! What if I have nothing to say? What will they think of me? I don’t fit in. I don’t even know anyone. I’m going to be so awkward. I suck a starting conversations. I can’t tell you how many social events I have avoided going to because I felt ALL of those things. I’ve sat in silence for entire semesters in college because I was shy AF. I’ve clung to my one friend at the party because I didn’t feel like I could fly on my own. Times have changed, baby! And you can change them too… A couple of months ago I went to a networking event and honestly… I felt like I owned the room and it felt UHHHHMAZING. These are the exact things I did and I want to share them with you

You can still show up when you aren’t put together Looking good doesn’t mean shit when it comes to your capabilities. We can’t let that get in the way of us doing what we want to do or prevent us from showing up in scenarios we want to participate in. I think there is some value in looking good, but it has nothing to do with your worth, capability, skill or value. There is some value to liking the way you look because, when you look good- you feel good. So take care of your body and take care of your health, wear some make up… whatever boosts the vibe. Where it becomes a trap is when we think our looks are directly connected to our value and our capabilities and the things that make up our worth. I want you to feel empowered and know that what you wear, how your hair is styled, what you look like has o business getting in the way of stopping you from doing the things you want to do!
