In this episode of Selling From The Heart, Weldon Long joins Larry Levine and Darrell Amy to share his inspiring journey from homelessness and prison to success and prosperity. He emphasizes the importance of selling from the heart, extending oneself emotionally and professionally to prospects, and maintaining integrity in sales. Weldon also discusses the power of consistency and the prosperity mindset, highlighting the role of expectations and imagination in achieving success. He explains how the reticular activating system filters our focus and the impact of cognitive dissonance on behavior. Weldon emphasizes the need for a morning routine and a prosperity plan to condition the subconscious mind for success.ABOUT THE GUESTWeldon Long is a successful entrepreneur, mindset expert, and author of the NY Times Bestseller, The Power of Consistency. From 13 years in a jail cell to running multi-million-dollar businesses...In 2003, Weldon walked out of a homeless shelter after serving over a decade in prison. A 9th-grade dropout and 3-time convicted felon, he found himself broke and unemployable. In just 5 short years he grew his company from $0 to $20 million and was selected by Inc Magazine as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in America.Weldon has since trained thousands of sales reps, and generated over $40 million across his 6 companies and over $480 million for his clients including Fortune 500 companies like FedEx, Home Depot, Wells Fargo, and Farmers Insurance. He's also a NY Times bestselling author of The Power of Consistency, Consistency Selling, and Upside of Fear.Today, Weldon is one of the nation's most sought-after sales experts. KEY TAKEAWAYSSuccessful sales require extending oneself emotionally and professionally to prospects, regardless of the outcome.Consistency in executing small actions consistently is more important than the scope of what we do.Expectations and imagination set the limit on our achievements. The reticular activating system filters our focus and determines what we notice and ignore.Cognitive dissonance drives behavior and can be used to align actions with goals.A morning routine and a prosperity plan help condition the subconscious mind for success.QUOTES"Successful sales is about extending ourselves emotionally and professionally to our prospects, whether or not we get the business.""Sales performance doesn't tell me a man's character or a woman's character. Did they extend themselves emotionally and professionally?""Success in life is about doing ordinary things extraordinarily well.""Expectations are the ceiling on what you do, but your imagination sets the ceiling on expectations.""Your self-consciousness has not been working on ways to make half a million. It's been working on ways to make a hundred thousand.""Your life has to be outlined in a simple format that you can review on a daily basis to condition the subconscious to go out and find those things.""The ultimate accountability is not about your family, it's about what you've decided you want and what you need to do every single day.""The power of consistency is executing on the small things on a consistent basis.""The subconscious mind is 10,000 times more powerful than the conscious brain.""Mindset and skillset together create incredible results."Learn more about Weldon Long: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/weldonlong/ Learn more about Darrell and Larry: Darrell's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/darrellamy/Larry's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/larrylevine1992/Website: https://www.sellingfromtheheart.net/ Got a video about how you sell from the heart? We're back!! I am so happy to start this new season with some very positive news as well as many practical changes that I made this summer which have greatly impacted my mental health for the better! Is Your Morning Routine Focused You hear a lot about using morning rituals to get more done. But what if you could use your mornings to get more done for YOU? In the fast-paced world we live in today, there seem to be two groups when it comes to how to use mornings—personal and productivity. Once folks remove themselves from the craziness of jumping out of bed, taking care of the kids, and hitting the drive-through, they choose one of the two. But what if there was a third group that was more satisfying? Before I go on, I need to admit that I didn't use to be a morning person and didn't like getting up early at all. I even quit my first couple of jobs as a morning radio host so I could sleep. Later in my career, I would hit my desk at 5 AM and pound through my to-do list as fast as possible. I must have been saying, "I…MUST… GET… IT… DONE!" That didn't work well because I didn't see the purpose of getting out of bed early if it was only to work. For a few years, I spent my mornings reading and meditating before heading off to the gym. I got in better shape, but my bank balance was less, and my future goals were seemingly unreachable. Then, one day, out of pure frustration and sporting a brand-new I don't give a heck attitude, I asked myself a question that changed everything - "What's the first thing I should do tomorrow morning that, if I do, will allow me to live a life of my design?" Notice that I didn't ask about work or what was on my to-do list. It had nothing to do with getting more done or getting in better shape. I focused on the lifestyle I wanted to live - and it was life-changing. In the years since I made that decision, I've started my days doing the most important thing I deem required to live the life of my choosing, and I've been happier for it. I've also come across dozens of morning do-gooders who are getting everything done except what they dream of doing, and when they realize it's not their fault, everything changes. They get caught up in the buzz of life, and everyone does. But, the minute you focus on YOU before anything else, you start making real progress. When you focus on what is important to you, you get what is important to you. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

We continue our discussion with Shaunna Lee and self-care by diving into her morning routine and how it helps her start the day right. Her morning tasks are not surprising when you look at high-performing individuals. However, we explore them and how to embrace them as our own. In particular, we talk about journaling and how to start that daily writing habit. These activities have many benefits, and we touch on them as well. Start The Day With A Strong Morning Routine Each day, we get to start the day. That means we can work on our morning routine daily and adjust as needed. Everyone is different in their rhythms and how they are most productive. Therefore, it is helpful to start with a plan and then assess how it impacts your day so you can change as it suits you. For example, you might not be an early riser or find writing too stressful. You might also find some tasks are better off at the end of the day. A common variable is when a person puts together a daily task list. Some like to do it first thing in the morning, while others prefer it as a task at the end of the day. Each approach has pros and cons, but find the one that works best for you. About Shaunna She is here to leave the world prettier than she found it - one heart at a time. Thus, she founded this business to help clients navigate life after loss. She achieves this by helping people find their passion and purpose. Then, she shows them how to monetize it. She uses various modalities to create a customized wellness plan. They set intentions and manifest success & empowerment. A few weeks ago, I did an episode about my morning routine. I got a great follow-up question about how to do this when you have a baby or toddler that wakes up super early. I remember that season well. A friend and I would meet up at 7:45 a.m. with our two toddlers and baby, each of whom woke up too early and went for a run and talked about how our kids wake up too early! But I've learned a lot from that season, and here are my best tips for doing a morning routine in the early years to get the brainstorming started for what could work for you. This is such an essential piece of the puzzle when it comes to not just surviving motherhood and fits into the Soul Pillar of the Three Pillars of Thriving. Here are a few things I've done that work for our family: Do your morning routine with your kids - I started doing my morning routine with my kids instead of jumping into kid things. I still do this with my youngest, who wakes up before the rest of my kids. The expectation is that I'm not available right now so she can play near me, but I will do my own routine. It didn't take too long before we got in the rhythm of it. I realized I didn't need to let my kids run the show. I'm the adult, and I can set priorities for myself in the morning that will bless us all. Implement a Big 5 for your kids - I started a Big 5 for my kids so they knew what they could be doing while I did my own morning routine. For a long time, I didn't actually care if they did those things, but if they came to me during that time, I asked them how their Big 5 was going, and they would have something to do while I finished up. They make their bed, get dressed, brush their teeth, say their prayers, and read/look at books. Keep a realistic mindset - I changed my mindset about what was reasonable and expected my kids to stay in bed until 6:30 or 7. When they woke up before that, my husband didn't mind putting them back to bed while I did my morning routine. Over time, they catch on and stay in bed until the time you have established. Use signals to let your kids know when it's okay to get out of bed - With my 3rd and 4th child, we got a clock on Amazon that is red when they need to be in bed and turns green when they can get out of bed. It has made a HUGE difference because there is a clear expectation, and I'm not the middleman - the color of the clock is. I'm sure you will find a solution of your own that works for you and your family. It will just take some time and trial and error. Keep the vision of what you want your foundation to look like, write it down, and even if it takes you all day to get those things done, that's okay! You are still building habits and getting to the essential things. It doesn't always look neat and tidy, and that is normal and to be expected.

Discover the impact of morning routines and the 'Start Your Day Right' Challenge for a transformative start to your day. Today I want to introduce you to 3 ladies: Sally, Gabby, and Nancy. Sleepy Sally Sally's alarm is going off again and she's already hit the snooze twice. She has to get up and get ready for work. Sally slept through her morning alone time again. She wants to start her day with the Lord but now she's gonna have to pray on the way to work and maybe read a few scriptures in her Bible app as she waits in the drive-thru to get coffee. Sally tells herself - It's not ideal but it's better than nothing right? Maybe next Monday she'll try getting up earlier to actually sit down and have her coffee with Jesus time. Good Intentions Gabby Gabby only hit the snooze once this morning then jumped up to get ready. She starts the coffee brewing and then gets ready for her day. Dressed. Makeup done. Hair fixed. Okay, Gabby grabs her coffee, Bible, and notebook and sits down to have her alone time with the Lord. She's been trying really hard to make this happen and here she is. Gabby sits down at the table, opens up her Bible to a random page and begins to read. Then she decides she better set an alarm for when she needs to leave because she might get so immersed she loses track of time. Then she checks the notifications on her phone and sees 15 new emails, someone tagged her in something on FB, and her favorite tik-tocker just posted a new video. Nope. Nope. Not doing it. She sets her phone down and turns back to the scripture. Where was I? Gabby rereads the verse she just read and moves on to the next one. Her mind begins to wander and now is thinking about what to cook for dinner. She realizes she needs to pick up some groceries today and begins to make a list on her phone. Next thing she knows her alarm is going off…it's time to leave and Gabby realizes she went from her grocery list to Facebook and lost track of time as she caught up on what everyone else was doing. She feels awful that she got distracted and lost track of time but she has to head off to work. Noble Nancy Nancy sets her alarm so that she wakes up an hour before everyone else. She gets up with the first alarm, quietly brushes her teeth then heads to the kitchen. She set the timer on the coffee pot the night before so it is brewed and ready to be poured into her favorite mug. Nancy settles in at the kitchen table in front of the window where she can hear the birds chirping. She has her morning basket that contains everything she needs. Her Bible, journal, devotional book, and planner. She sets her phone to do not disturb so she is not distracted by notifications of incoming emails or social media posts. Nancy spends about 5 minutes enjoying her coffee, listening to the birds, and allowing herself time to be fully awake. She remembers her friend's husband is having some tests run today and she jots his name down in her journal so she remembers to pray over him. She is also very aware of how grateful she is that she has overcome sickness in her own life. She writes a quick note in her journal as she thanks the Lord for touching her life and healing her body. Nancy opens up her Bible to Jeremiah which is where she has been reading this week. She comes to verse 29:11. God has a plan for her life. She takes a minute to write that verse in her journal and asks the Lord to show her His plan for her life. It's been a bit of a mess lately and she could sure use some direction. She remembers the book idea she had before she got sick. Maybe it's time to start writing again. She makes a note in her journal to schedule some writing time. She draws her attention back to the next scripture and reads for a while more, pondering on the words as she reads them and making notes of words that stand out to her. Nancy's alarm beeps softly to remind her she has 15 minutes left. She pulls out her calendar, schedules some writing time for that week, and sets a reminder on her phone to check on her friend that afternoon. Nancy spends the remainder of her time in prayer and continues to stay in an attitude of prayer and thanksgiving as she begins to get ready for her day. Introducing the "Start Your Day Right" Challenge "As we've explored the morning routines of Sally, Gabby, and Nancy, it's clear that how we begin our day shapes our mindset, focus, and spiritual connection.
