Calming Anxiety | Healing Morning Anxiety and Finding Calm in the ChaosDo you wake up with your mind immediately racing before your feet even touch the floor? If you are feeling overwhelmed by morning anxiety, an endless to-do list, and the chaotic noise of the day ahead , this 10-minute guided meditation is designed exactly for you. In this episode of Calming Anxiety, host Martin Hewlett—a professional clinical hypnotherapist and former frontline paramedic —shares deep relaxation techniques to reset your nervous system. Drawing from years of managing high-stress emergency situations , Martin explains that you don't have to calm a whole day at once; you simply need to soothe the next 10 minutes. Through deep somatic breathing patterns , vagus nerve stimulation , a calming misty field visualization , and powerful positive affirmations , you will learn how to let go of morning panic attacks, release negative thoughts , and quiet an overactive mind. Discover how to cultivate morning mindfulness, build a stress-relief routine, and reclaim emotional control so you can step into your day with peace, confidence, and absolute clarity. ⏱️ Episode Time Chapters00:00 – Overcoming Morning Anxiety & Chasing Away Racing Thoughts 00:29 – Introduction: Martin Hewlett on Frontline Chaos to Inner Calm 01:14 – Guided Breathing Exercise: 4-2-6 Pattern for Vagus Nerve Stimulation 03:34 – Misty Field Visualization: Letting Go of the To-Do List 05:54 – Morning Affirmations for Anxiety Relief & Mental Clarity 08:14 – The 3 Daily Caring Tips for Stress Management 09:20 – Awakening & Reclaiming Control of Your Day 09:40 – How to Support the Show & Final Closing Thoughts
Do you ever walk out of a room feeling completely drained or heavier than when you walked in? If you are an empath or a highly sensitive person (HSP), you aren't just hearing people—you are absorbing their emotional weather. In this episode of Calming Anxiety, clinical hypnotherapist and former frontline paramedic Martin Hewlett shows you how to stop bracing for other people's storms and start generating your own climate of peace. Using a powerful 4-2-6 breathing technique and an immersive aura visualization, you will learn how to build a protective shield of calm that reflects negativity, leaving you centered, grounded, and in complete control. Cold Intro"Do you ever leave a room feeling heavier than when you walked in? Like you've just absorbed someone else's negative energy without even realising it? If you're an empath or simply a highly sensitive person, today we're doing something different. We're not building a wall to keep people out. We're learning how to protect your energy by building a calm aura around you." Other people's storms move around me, not through me. I do not absorb what was never mine to carry. My calm is steady, even when the forecast around me changes. I am the climate I choose to create. 3 Daily Caring TipsTake these practical tools with you into the weeks and months ahead to protect your peace: Breathe Before You Enter: Before walking into a meeting, a room, or a tough conversation, take three mindful breaths and visualize your protective aura growing stronger. Let Storms Pass Through: Remember that you are human, not a weather system. If someone else's mood touches you, give it gentle permission to pass right on by. Audit Your Environments: Notice who in your life is consistently stormy. Be honest about how long you stand in the rain—you have full permission to shorten visits, take calls later, and protect your space. Share the CalmIf today's visualization helped you find your footing, please take a quick moment to share this episode on your social media feed. You never know which of your friends or loved ones might desperately need a 10-minute sanctuary of peace today. Smile often, my friend, and to your soul be kind.

In this episode, I'm joined by the wonderful Olga Newman, whose unique approach to facial massage, fascia release, and breathwork completely changed my perspective on what's possible when it comes to ageing naturally. I was lucky enough to have one of her treatments before we recorded this conversation, and I honestly felt all the tension in my jaw and neck melt away. Together, we explore how years of anxiety and chronic stress can leave their mark on our faces, why shallow breathing and tension patterns matter more than we realise, and the powerful ways breathwork, fascia release, and self-massage can help us look and feel our best—without relying on Botox. If you've ever wondered how stress is showing up in your face, this episode is full of fascinating insights and practical tools. We talk about: What years of anxiety and stress look like on your face Why shallow breathing and pelvic tension so often show up together The way chronic tension (or release) can change how we age How self-massage, fascia release, and breathwork can work better than Botox Where to find Olga: Instagram: @olga_faceup

Hello Beautiful, I'm so grateful you're here with me.
Nutrition Nugget! Bite-sized bonus episodes offer tips, tricks and approachable science. This week, Jenn is talking about slowmaxxing, the viral trend that flips hustle culture on its head. Is the answer to burnout really found in 48-hour chocolate chip cookies and 15-minute coffee rituals, or is that taking things a little too far? Jenn breaks down what slowmaxxing really means, why it might be the antidote to internet brain rot, and how it connects to the priorities we already claim to care about. Does slowing down mean getting less done, or could it be the missing piece that makes everything else work better? Tune in to hear how Jenn is putting this trend to the test in her own life, and whether she thinks it is worth adopting or just another wellness fad dressed up with a new name. In this episode, Georgie shares two pieces of news she's been so excited to tell you about. First, the story of how she got engaged, all of it, start to finish. And then something she never expected to be talking about here: after two years of quietly pushing through fatigue, headaches and brain fog... the kind of background noise you learn to ignore. She's finally found the root cause! She's already feeling clearer, calmer and less inflamed, and she's sharing everything: the symptoms she'd learned to push past, how she got to the bottom of it, and what's changed since - in case it helps you find your own answers too.

If you've ever felt overwhelmed by conflicting health advice, this conversation will help you cut through the noise and come back to what really matters. We reflect on how time pressure has changed over the years, with constant notifications, information overload, and the expectation of being always available making many of us feel perpetually behind. We explore how anxiety changes our relationship to time. We describe how the mind turns ordinary time into a threat, making us feel that we are running out of time, late in life, or behind in healing. We also note how language such as “I don't have time” or “I'm killing time” reflects a strained view of time.We consider the impact of chronic urgency on the body. We say that long-term time stress can affect sleep, digestion, concentration, irritability, inflammation, and overall nervous system activation. We also point out that people often mistake hurry for productivity and live in constant preparation rather than participation. We offer a different approach based on rhythm and presence. We distinguish healthy planning from rehearsing disaster or replaying regret, and we identify four ways we leave the present: regret, guilt, fear, and urgency. We close with a simple practice of pausing, taking one slow breath, and focusing on what needs attention right now, with the reminder that healing begins when we stop racing toward a future version of ourselves.#TimeUrgency, #AnxietyCoachesPodcast, #GinaRyan, #NervousSystem, #SlowingDown, #PresentMoment, #AnxietyRelief, #MentalHealth, #Overwhelm, #AlwaysAvailable, #DigitalDetox, #SocialMediaStress, #ComparisonCulture, #HealingJourney, #TimePressure, #Mindfulness, #InnerPeace, #StressManagement, #ChronicStress, #ProductivityTrap, #NatureRhythms, #ThichNhatHanh, #Presence, #MentalWellbeing, #SelfCompassion, #NervousSystemRegulation, #PresentMomentAwareness, #MentalHealthEducation, #DigitalOverwhelm, #ACPSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

You don't have to fully believe them yet—just allow them to land: "My body is not my enemy. It is working hard for me right now.""Sensations are not symptoms. My nervous system is sensitive, not broken.""I am allowed to feel uncertainty and choose not to search for answers right now.""I release the need to check. The answer I am looking for is already here. I am safe.""My mind has been working so hard to protect me. I give it permission to rest."3 Daily Caring Tips for Health Anxiety ReliefGive the Worry a Window: If anxious health thoughts pop up, don't fight them. Dedicate one specific 5-minute window later in the day (like 4:00 PM) to acknowledge them. Outside of that window, gently step away and return to your breath.Notice the Reassurance Loop: Googling symptoms or constantly asking loved ones for reassurance feels like quick relief, but it actually feeds the anxiety cycle. What is anxiety, really, and why won't it go away no matter how much you overthink it? Sabrina sits down with neuroscientist and anxiety expert Dr. Russ Kennedy (Anxiety MD) to break down anxiety in dating, relationships, and everyday life. They cover why anxiety lives in the body and not just the head, why CBT, EMDR, and medication so often treat the symptoms instead of the root, and how to tell a real alarm from a false one. This one is for anyone who has ever felt anxious, avoidant, or convinced they were fundamentally broken. They also dig into the myth that a new partner will fix your anxiety, why overthinking is really under-feeling, and how inner child work and somatic healing actually move you forward. You will walk away with tangible tools to stop abandoning yourself, get out of your head, and work through anxious attachment, breakups, and the uncertainty of dating. The biggest takeaway is learning to separate the feeling in your body from the thoughts in your mind, because that is where real healing starts.
