The opening speech by the South Australian Minister for Education, The Honourable Jennifer Rankin, highlights the importance of South Australian students engaging with Asia through education.
The keynote speech on the role of languages in developing Asian Literacy was presented by Associate Professor Angela Scarino.
The presentation provided an overview of the Language Learning Space, a web-based platform offering resources and services to support teachers and students in Chinese, Indonesian and Japanese language classrooms in Australia. There has been a strong acceptance of the platform within the primary and secondary language teaching sectors.
