Send me a Text Message!I used to pray, God put me in the place where you can use me the best, but these last few years, my prayer has changed, now it's God put me in the place where you can love me the best. And isn't this what Jesus is saying is the reward of those who have little strength and keep his word and love his name? Yes, sure this is an open door to make a difference. This is the church that will feed a hungry world and love their neighbors all the way to Jesus. But don't miss this. If we don't have intimacy with Christ, we won't make an impact for Christ. As you listen to this episode, I hope a point comes where you pause and ask yourself, "What if that's Jesus knocking on my door?"

This week, Dr. Joëlle Hivonnet joins the podcast to discuss her four-year tenure as the EU's deputy head in Seoul from 2016, a tumultuous era in inter-Korean relations defined by both tensions and diplomacy. Hivonnet talks about how U.S. President Donald Trump's threats against North Korea transformed into summit talks between leader Kim Jong Un, South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Trump, and how those developments ushered in a period of optimism for the EU. She also challenges the notion that Europe has a limited role in the peninsula's affairs, particularly after North Korea's direct involvement in the war in Ukraine. The EU's agenda is being “totally dominated” by the Ukraine-Russia war, and North Korea's deployment of troops and munitions in support of Moscow's invasion is clear evidence that issues involving the DPRK now relate to the 27-member state organization, she said. Hivonnet, now retired, worked in EU postings for over 30 years, including in Geneva and Kathmandu. Prior to working for the EU, she was a senior lecturer at the University of Northumbria in England. About the podcast: The North Korea News Podcast is a weekly podcast hosted by Jacco Zwetsloot exclusively for NK News, covering all things DPRK — from news to extended interviews with leading experts and analysts in the field, along with insight from our very own journalists. Send us a textA quiet country church. A knock on the side door. And a question that won't leave us alone: what if Jesus is outside, patiently waiting to be invited in? In this episode I share something a bit different; a guest sermon I gave at our church a few weeks ago to help fill in for our pastor. After a brief farm and family update, we will listen to my sermon on Revelation 3:14–22, the letter to Laodicea, to explore the uneasy distance between liking Jesus and actually following him.We unpack why Scripture calls lukewarm faith nauseating and why hot and cold are both images of usefulness—healing warmth and refreshing cool—while room temperature blends into its surroundings. With Laodicea's banking, textiles, and eye salve as backdrop, we trace Jesus' piercing diagnosis of self-satisfied religion and his generous prescription: gold refined by fire, white garments of righteousness, and salve for true sight. Along the way, we talk about real-life patterns that pull us toward comfort—people-pleasing, hurry, and performative faith—and simple, costly habits that reverse the drift: unhurried Scripture, honest prayer, confession, reconciling conversations, generous service, and witness that changes the room. The heart of the message is not shame but invitation. Those Jesus loves, he disciplines. He stands at the door and knocks, not with a battering ram, but with patient mercy, promising table fellowship to any who open, even if the whole room isn't ready. We offer practical next steps to move from thermometer to thermostat, including one action this week that costs something and proves what we value. If you've felt “fine” yet fruitless, this conversation will help you trade comfort for a living, useful faith that leaves a holy mark on your family, church, and community. If this resonates, subscribe, share with a friend, and tell us: what door will you open to Jesus this week? Your story might encourage someone else to turn the knob.Send your thoughts and questions to noah@redeemingthedirt.comSupport the show

In this episode of The Solo Musician Podcast, host Dave Gates takes you behind the scenes of his first-ever trip to New York's beautiful Finger Lakes region — a two-day, boots-on-the-ground mission to scout potential venues for his 2026 tour. With a HUGE shoutout to his friend John, Dave recounts the experience, the lakeside drives, and the 45 venues he visited around Keuka and Seneca Lakes — all part of the grind of booking gigs as an independent artist. You'll hear how Dave approached each venue like a pro: walking in with confidence, starting genuine conversations, dropping a card (and sometimes a tip), and keeping notes in the parking lot after each stop. He shares his honest reflections on nerves, persistence, and people skills, plus key takeaways on what worked, what didn't, and why the “don't be annoying” mindset might just be your best business strategy. Stick around for bonus tips — including Dave's Facebook group hack for finding venues in new regions — and get inspired to take your own music hustle on the road. Perfect for: Independent musicians, DIY bookers, and anyone curious what it really takes to get gigs when you're a one-person operation.

You Are The Power's Ryan Ralston joins Josh and brings along a special guest, Carrie Timms. Carrie and Brady Timms are the parents of a child with a rare medical condition, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), that the state misdiagnosed as child abuse. For three years, Carrie researched her son's condition to uncover the truth—all while the state ignored crucial evidence that would have revealed it. Instead of following the evidence, authorities removed the Timms' son from their care and put the parents on trial for abuse that never occurred. For years, the Timms felt utterly alone, with nowhere to turn as they fought the state. They had proof of their innocence, but no one would listen. Then they found You Are The Power, and everything began to change. The organization stood beside them, providing unwavering support throughout the trial. As the truth finally emerged and the Timms were declared innocent, You Are The Power never left their side. Now, with her family reunited, Carrie joins Josh to share her story. Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises of the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts and lives. Here are the promises we covered this week. Deuteronomy 20:4 – God Goes With You to Fight for You Ephesians 6:13 – God Has Given You Spiritual Armor. John 10:27 – I Hear God's Voice and I Follow Him. Philippians 4:4 – Rejoice in the Lord. Revelation 3:20 – Jesus is Knocking.
Today's Promise: Revelation 3:20 Imagine what it would be like to sit down and share a meal with Jesus. What would you ask Him? What truths would He reveal to you? In today's episode, we explore the beautiful invitation Jesus extends to every believer. To open the door of our hearts and enjoy intimate fellowship with Him. He's not distant or demanding; He's gently knocking, waiting for you to let Him in. The more you open the door, the deeper your relationship with Him will grow. Jesus longs to sit with you, speak to you, and share His presence like a trusted friend at your table.

This week, I talk with someone who's been on my dream guest list since day one—Ami Vitale. Ami is a National Geographic photographer and filmmaker whose work has taken her from war zones to wildlife sanctuaries, always in pursuit of the deeper story. But this conversation goes far beyond her remarkable resume. We talk about how picking up a camera transformed her from a shy, introverted kid into one of the world's most powerful visual storytellers. Ami opens up about what it really means to bear witness, the emotional cost of telling the truth, and why she eventually turned her lens away from conflict and toward hope, healing, and our connection with the natural world. This episode is about dignity, presence, and the quiet leadership that comes from listening well and seeing clearly. I promise, you'll never look at a photograph the same way again. It begins with a doll — not just any doll, but one that walked and talked with no batteries, then knocked from inside a closet as if something alive had taken hold of it. Decades later, the fear resurfaces at a place locals call the Hollow Chapel — a cemetery scarred by rumors of fire, madness, and a priest's final act of horror. Armed with recorders and bravado, Lena and her friends expected silence or maybe whispers. Instead, they came face to face with something no one could explain: a shadow rising, hands slamming onto a car hood, and a voice that thundered through their speakers with one chilling command… “GET OUT.” What connects a battery-less doll with a chapel soaked in legend? Is it coincidence, or proof that hauntings carry intent — a will that wants to be seen, heard, and feared? This is more than a ghost story. It's a confrontation with the possibility that the dead are not just lingering, but reaching out with purpose. Press play — because once you hear Lena's story, you'll never look at dolls, graveyards, or darkened rooms the same way again. #TrueGhostStory #RealHaunting #Haunted #Hauntings #CreepyDoll #HollowChapel #Paranormal #GhostStories #Creepy #Horror #UrbanLegend #FirsthandAccount Love real ghost stories? The story was simple. Perhaps, a little too simple. Rebecca says she pulled into the parking lot of the sports store with her 7 month old son, Emmanuel. She went to get him from the back but a creepy man walked up to her, said “hola,” knocked her out, and stole her son. A tragic situation. But what if it never even happened? There are so many questions that don't make sense if her story is true - Rebecca claims she didn't see the man at all before he knocked her out. She says he came up from behind her. But how did she get punched in the middle of her face where she now has a black eye if he came up behind her? Also if her black eye is from the kidnapper punching her in the face - why are there reports that family members saw her with a black eye weeks before the abduction? How come she keeps using past tense when referring to her son?And why did she making missing child flyers in an effort to find her son but disconnect her phone so that no tips/sightings would actually go through? But most intriguing - how come nobody saw her with a baby that day? The day she claims her baby was abducted? Full show notes at rottenmangopodcast.com
