Stuart & Rob share their lists of favorite nonhuman characters. Obviously Rob includes Evie from the forgotten 80s first run syndication sitcom Out of this World. The real suspense is in what else gets listed. Stuff that comes up: Jaws shark & Roy Scheider; just how much Stuart has seen Futurama—a LOT; Rob's favorite Paul Ruebens-voiced liquid metal ship from Flight of the Navigator; what exactly makes a character a character. And—you won't even believe it—Sledge Hammer's gun. That and more and lists galore. On this episode of Podideapod, I'm releasing the one episode I made for a podcast about basketball and living well. The tagline here is "better living through loving basketball." I made a cool cover for it and the music that we now use over on Trivial Television. After making this one, I started an episode on the Lakers and started gaining an appreciation for Kobe Bryant, whom I'd sort of disliked for twenty years. It didn't take long to decide that the show would take too much time each week if I wanted it to be researched and written at all well. So I bailed. But I'm glad I got that chance to pay some attention to Kobe's work ethic. It's cool that he moved on from basketball to create other things. I think that part of who he was publicly stuck with me and has played some role in my effort to make all this Synopsish stuff. So thanks for listening to this. We each have a top 3 list for our favorite bad movies (other than The Room) and some honorable mentions, plus we talk about why we like bad movies in general. For example, they're often very obviously the charming consequence of a single creative person's creativity and vision. That's awesome! Rob wrote up a blog post to share some thoughts and fun odds & ends about 6 more bad movies over on the website. Thanks for checking some of that out. Thanks for listening to this. Take care.

On Podideapod, Rob tries out different ideas for podcasts and shares them with you. This time, he and Rebecca made an episode of Murder & a Movie. Rob watched Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Rebecca did a little research on Henry Lee Lucas. They hang out and compare notes. The long and short of it is that the movie isn't all that accurate, but it sure is an interesting thing to watch. And, also, Henry Lee Lucas was a big old yuck yuck of a murder man. Podideapod is — for no good reason, maybe — just one show that pops up on the Low-Effort Content feed by Synopsish. The idea here is that you don't have to try too hard to have value. Okay is okay. So we're not trying to change the world. We're just being okay, and we hope you like hanging out and playing along.
