I was recently asked the question “Should I refeed once a week if I'm in a calorie deficit?”I love this question (I always love when you send me your questions btw!), but honestly…it depends.Like most things in the health and fitness world, there's no “one-size-fits-all” answer. Before you start talking about refeed days, carb cycling, or any other advanced strategies, you've got to ask yourself an important question: “Am I even in a consistent deficit to begin with?”The reality is, most people aren't. Even if you're “eating clean,” hitting your macros Monday through Friday, but you're winging it on the weekends, you're not *truly* in a calorie deficit! If you're not tracking your intake honestly AND consistently, your coach (whether that's me or someone else) can't help you. Tools like refeed days won't either. If you're feeling stuck or frustrated with your progress, you don't need fancier nutrition hacks or more cardio. You need to get your foundation dialed in FIRST, and give yourself time in a true calorie deficit! In this episode, we cover:Why you need to be sure you're in a true calorie deficit before trying tools like refeed daysWhat a calorie deficit actually means + why honest tracking mattersCommon signs you're not in a real deficitHow to get into a consistent calorie deficit the RIGHT wayLinks/Resources:Ep. 193 | Unf*ck the Middle: Why You're Not “Stuck” - You're in MaintenanceEp. 178 | Maintenance Calories 101: Building Strength, Hormonal Health & Food FreedomJoin FIT CLUB, my monthly membership with workouts you can do at home or the gymPRIVATE COACHING is my 1:1 program (choose 3 or 6 month option)Connect with me on Instagram @kristycastillofit and @unfuckyourfitnesspodcast so we can keep this conversation going-be sure to tag me in your posts and stories!Join my FREE Facebook group, Unf*ck Your FitnessClick HERE for my favorite fitness & life things!Send me a text with episode ideas or just to say hi! There's been another MURDER in the 3rd editor Susan Ryeland / detective Atticus Pünd novel MARBLE HALL MURDERS. This week we tackle pages 200-407! Let's Solve the whodunnits within this fun book! Alan Conway is dead - long live Atticus Pünd who's brought back from the fictional dead as a continuation novel by failed author Eliot Crace, the grandson of famed deceased children's author, Miriam Crace. Susan needs work, so she's drafted to help the washed out Eliot turn his manuscript into a worthy entry in the Atticus Pund series. As Susan delves into the manuscript, she discovers uncanny parallels between the fictional world and real-life Crace family secrets. "Marble Hall Murders (Susan Ryeland #3)" is a novel by Anthony Horowitz, the third book in the Susan Ryeland series, featuring the character who edits the fictional detective Atticus Pünd. In this installment, Susan Ryeland is tasked with editing a continuation novel titled "Pünd's Last Case" written by Eliot Crace, who is also the grandson of a deceased children's author. Eliot believes his grandmother was murdered, and he's hidden clues about her death within his novel. As Susan delves into the manuscript, she discovers uncanny parallels between the fictional world and real-life Crace family secrets, ultimately leading her to become a target. Editor Susan Ryeland has left her Greek island, her hotel, and her Greek boyfriend Andreas in search of a new life back in England. Freelancing for Causton Books, she's working on the manuscript of a novel, Pund's Last Case, by a young author named Eliot Crace, a continuation of the popular Alan Conway series. Susan is surprised to learn that Eliot is the grandson of legendary children's author Marian Crace, who died some fifteen years ago—murdered, Elliot insists, by poison. As Susan begins to read the manuscript's opening chapters, the skeptical editor is relieved to find that Pund's Last Case is actually very good. Set in the South of France, it revolves around the mysterious death of Lady Margaret Chalfont, who, though mortally ill, is poisoned—perhaps by a member of her own family. But who did it? And why?

What if your team's biggest performance blocker wasn't capability—but silence? In this episode, I'm joined by psychological safety expert Gary Keogh to unpack why so many people still don't feel safe to speak up at work—and how most leaders are blind to it. We explore what psychological safety really is (and isn't), why two in five people still hold back, and why 70% of leaders think their teams feel safer than they actually do. Gary shares practical insights into the four domains of psychological safety, the impact of accurately measuring it, and the powerful shifts he sees during the breakthrough sessions he runs with teams. We also flip the usual doom-and-gloom narrative, highlighting positive examples like Netflix's “farming for dissent” approach. If you want to build a high-trust, high-performance culture—this is where it starts. ----more---- Key Takeaways Silence is the hidden killer of performance: Two in five employees hold back ideas or concerns due to fear, costing organisations innovation, speed, and trust. THE BOOK: Kickstarter is still active. MGoBlog.com/25 REMINDER: Michigan fans won the Charity Bowl, so we'll be getting together with Spencer, Holly, and Jason on JUNE 28, 6PM at the Ann Arbor District Library, then going to Venue for drinks at 8:00. Signup is here so I can give them a final count (we're at ~200 right now), or go to pizzawestern.com. THE LINEUP: Brian still on break. Seth & Craig & Sam today. NO SHOW NEXT WEEK: July 4th. Things Discussed: HTTV 2025: Craig's article on 1898 has a surprise for Buckeye Fans, because the NCAA is going to vacate Michigan's 1897 wins ANY DAY NOW. Warde with Sam last week: Credit to him for being more transparent. Sam notes he specifically came out of his no-comment stance to put to rest any ideas of vacated wins/championships. Our favorite recent commits. Seth loves Alister Vallejo: he's incorrigible. Even has Mason Graham's baby face. Craig likes Bear McWhorter. Titan Davis: really good example of the type of player you see from Lou Esposito: good length and good burst. Marky Walbridge: Most Massachusetts name ever. He looks like a TACKLE—reminds me of Blake Frazier. Sam: I think Blake is going to be the starting LT. Philosophy for how to spend your money? Seth: Baltimore Ravens. Start by putting more money to your top players. Positionally, you look at what system you run and where you can get value. Michigan runs the Ravens system, which spent less on Edge and LB to get big-time athletes in the secondary. Spend on a cornerback. Sam: Spend on a cornerback every year, because Ohio State is a receiver team, and cornerback is mostly about talent. QB, Edge, and Cornerback. Seth: if you can develop edges you can save money there. If you're struggling to develop something you spend on it (e.g. OSU with (Break: Naming the people who are in our chat) NIL Clearinghouse. The ADs don't even know what the standard will be. Guessing it will be like every other NCAA enforcement attempt, IE they will ignore 99% of it and then come down hard on Michigan when they're mad. Next battleground is in legislatures. NBA Draft: Wolf slipped to 27th but only because the Nets had 1/6th of the picks and could slot him lower. Took another Jewish guy right before him. Top of the draft: Ace Bailey was the last difference-maker; if he won't play in Salt Lake they can trade him, but the value dropped after that.

You've got ideas. Maybe too many. One minute you're designing planners, the next it's wall art, and suddenly you're knee-deep in a Pinterest spiral wondering if you should be selling bachelorette party games instead. Sound familiar? If you've ever felt like you're just guessing what to sell on Etsy—hoping your next listing magically takes off—you are so not alone. But here's the secret: I never guess. Not anymore. Because there are four research tools I use every single time I create a new digital product—tools that tell me what's trending, what buyers are actually searching for, and where the opportunity sweet spots really are. Today, I'm walking you through all four—so you can stop creating in the dark and start building a shop based on real, proven data. This is the part no one talks about. The behind-the-scenes strategy that separates the sellers making “meh” money… from the ones making passive profit on repeat. Join Jim and Greg for the Wednesday edition of the 3 Martini Lunch as they react to President Trump's cryptic yet playful comments on Iran, break down a major Supreme Court ruling on transgender procedures for minors, and shake their heads at yet another Democrat staging a protest for attention over ICE operations First, they get a kick out of President Trump having fun with a reporter's question about what might come next with Iran and adding, "I may do it. I may may not do it." Jim also wonders whether Trump's tough talk is just a smokescreen while Israel finishes the job at the nuclear sites.Next, they applaud the Supreme Court's decision to uphold Tennessee's law banning transgender surgeries, puberty blockers, and related treatments for minors. Jim says there needs to be a distinction between minors and adults on this issue. They also point out that most kids dealing with gender dysphoria end up embracing the way they were made while the surgeries and drugs are irreversible. Finally, they mock the latest political stunt involving a Democrat getting detained for interfering with ICE operations—this time New York City Comptroller Brad Lander, who also happens to be a mayoral candidate with a primary next week. Jim fears this tactic may become a Democratic litmus test in 2026. And they both have fun imagining a more organized way for Dems to carry out their publicity stunts. Please visit our great sponsors:No missed calls, no missed customers with OpenPhone.
