In this college football podcast episode, we finish our three-part preview of the ACC by turning our attention to the defending conference champions and several of the league’s most difficult teams to project. Can Duke keep finding ways to win after another major quarterback change? Does Clemson have a real plan for getting back into the College Football Playoff conversation? And can Louisville once again rebuild its offense around a new transfer quarterback without losing ground near the top of the conference? We also dig into James Franklin’s full-scale reboot at Virginia Tech, Ty’s increasingly dangerous belief in NC State, and a pivotal season for Brent Key at Georgia Tech. With new quarterbacks, rebuilt offensive lines, coordinator changes and transfer portal additions everywhere, how much confidence should we place in recognizable coaches and favorable schedules? Plus, we examine why Cal could become one of the most entertaining teams in college football, whether Syracuse can recover with Steve Angeli back under center, and what Bill O’Brien can realistically build at Boston College. Elsewhere, Dan experiments with performance-enhancing inhalers, Ty launches Bros for Brohm, the Calgorithm gains strength, and we issue another annual warning about hiring Ted Roof. As broadcasters debated whether to air President Donald Trump's recent prime-time address live and local newspapers continued rethinking political opinion pages, one question has become increasingly difficult to ignore: Has journalism's greatest challenge shifted from protecting free speech to preserving productive public discourse? Constitutional scholar Stuart Brotman believes the First Amendment remains remarkably strong. It is America's ability to engage respectfully with one another that is showing signs of strain. In this episode, Paul Anleitner traces how a culture that once watched Rocky in full-throated sincerity learned to read everything through suspicion. We talk about the modern story we inherited, the postmodern anti-story that dismantled it, and the meaning crisis left in the rubble. There is a vibe shift happening as people reach for nostalgia and re-enchantment. We get into the three pillars of meaning, mean world syndrome, why Top Gun: Maverick and Project Hail Mary landed the way they did, and Paul's central claim: that kenosis, self-emptying love, is the shape of reality. Paul Anleitner is a cultural theologian who writes and speaks on the role of culture and story in our quest for meaning. He is the author of "Based on a True Story: Vibe Shifts, the End of Deconstruction, and the Reboot of Meaning" (Nelson Books)His unique interdisciplinary approach integrates theology, philosophy, and science to help individuals and institutions navigate cultural shifts and address perennial religious longings.Paul's Book:Based on a True StoryConnect with Joshua: jjohnson@shiftingculturepodcast.comGo to www.shiftingculturepodcast.com to interact and donate.

We love airway management on Critical Care Time so we figured it was time to reboot a classic: The Physiologically Difficult Airway. On this episode, Nick and Cyrus discuss planning for those airways that may seem simple on your physical exam, but end up being some of the hardest to safely secure in the setting of hemodynamic instability. Also, we thought this would be a great prequel to a new release that is coming your way next week with Dr. Jarrod Mosier where we tackle advanced concepts in airway management and awake intubation. If you haven't heard this one yet, or if you could use the refresher, give it a listen and let us know what you think! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Mark Carney met with Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman in Saudi Arabia this week, aiming to strengthen ties and build up our economic relationship in areas like AI and critical minerals. It's been 26 years since a Canadian Prime Minister visited the country, despite the fact that they're a major trading partner. The relationship had come with friction over things like Saudi Arabia's war in Yemen, human rights abuses, and political repression. Canadian-Saudi relations hit an all-time low during Justin Trudeau's tenure, and Dennis Horak was expelled from his post as Canada's ambassador to Saudi Arabia in 2018. Now, almost eight years later, he's applauding this move by the current government to renew the relationship. Horak joins us to talk about how relations soured, and why he thinks we're headed back in the right direction. For transcripts of Front Burner, please visit: https://www.cbc.ca/radio/frontburner/transcripts

The Ultimate Sci-Fi and Nostalgia Showdown: Reboots, Toys, and Tech Turmoil Ever wondered how our favorite childhood franchises are making a comeback, or how the tech industry's hidden drama affects what we buy? If you’re a sci-fi fanatic, toy collector, or tech geek, this post is your guide to the latest in fandom, nostalgia, and industry secrets. From the hype around Thundercats reboots to the fascinating conspiracy behind computer RAM shortages, we’ll cover it all — and share actionable insights to stay ahead of the curve.Get ready to discover how animation is dominating with quality storytelling, why blockbuster sequels are crushing records, and what the mysterious RAM shortage might mean for your next upgrade. Whether you’re here for the nostalgia trip or to understand the tech chaos, this comprehensive breakdown will keep you informed and entertained. Nostalgia Reboot Madness: Thundercats, Toy Story, and the Power of Reimagining Classics The nostalgia wave is crashing hard on modern media, bringing beloved 80s cartoons and movies back into the spotlight. But careful—if not done right, these reboots can go south fast. Fortunately, recent discussions from passionate fans reveal both the excitement and the caution needed when revisiting old favorites.Thundercats Returns: Nostalgia Meets Animation InnovationFans of Thundercats are buzzing as talk of a reimagined reboot surfaces. The plan? A full-length animated movie that honors the 80s original while incorporating modern storytelling. This shift to animation — moving away from live-action pitfalls — seems to be the right move, especially following successful revivals like Masters of the Universe. The idea is to bring back the essence of the classic but with a fresh, mature storyline that appeals to both nostalgic adults and new viewers. What makes this promising? The focus on quality animation and storytelling, similar to Young Justice, which has been praised for its deep character development and compelling plots. Fans are hopeful that this approach will capture the essence of the original, avoiding the pitfalls of poorly executed live-action adaptations.Toy Story 5: An Unstoppable FranchiseOn the film front, Toy Story continues its record-breaking streak. The latest installment surpassed expectations, pulling in over $160 million domestically in its opening. Fans rank it as the second-best in the series, with some suggesting the franchise is still strong despite past criticisms of the fourth film. Key tip: When animation and story are combined with heartfelt moments, even a franchise approaching its fifth film can feel fresh and relevant. If you haven’t caught Toy Story 5, it’s worth a trip to the theater — and a reminder that staying true to the original formula pays off.The Power of Quality Animation in RebootsWhether it’s Thundercats or Toy Story, the common thread is stunning animation paired with engaging storytelling. The success of series like Batman Nightfall or Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends demonstrates that fans crave nostalgic characters but with modern visuals and mature narratives. Animation is not just a medium; it's the key to longevity in the superhero and sci-fi universe. Special Guest Insights: Why Animation Dominates Modern Sci-Fi and Superhero Content In lively discussions, experts emphasize that animation allows for creative freedom and detailed character design, which live-action sometimes struggles to match. Shows like Teen Titans Go and Young Justice illustrate the appeal of animated series—they are versatile, visually stunning, and can adapt complex stories for all ages. Pro tip: For die-hard fans, investing in animated reboots or series is a safe bet for quality content. Plus, these series often serve as a testing ground for future live-action adaptations, ensuring the core essence remains intact. Tech Industry Secrets: The Hidden Drama Behind RAM Shortages and Price Hikes Switching gears, recent conversations unveil a less-known but significant industry story: the mysterious RAM shortage. This isn't just about supply chain hiccups; it's about a possible conspiracy involving major RAM manufacturers. The RAM Saga: Old Scandal, New CrisisHistorically, giants like Samsung, Hynix, and Micron have played hardball in the RAM market. Back in 2002, these companies pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges, allegedly manipulating production to inflate prices. Fast forward to today, and a new class-action lawsuit claims they're doing the same, with shortages blamed on high demand from AI centers — but the truth might be more sinister. Why does this matter? Higher RAM prices mean more expensive computers, gaming consoles, and tech upgrades for consumers. The scarcity also hints at deliberate manipulation, akin to a historical scandal replayed for modern earnings.Impact on Consumers and IndustryThe scarcity affects hardware prices for gamers and professionals alike. Expect to see increased costs for PCs, consoles, and even smartphones. Critics argue this is a smokescreen to inflate profits under the guise of AI-driven demand—a classic case of industry insider games that secretly raise costs for the end user. Actionable advice: Stay informed about industry lawsuits and conspiracy theories. Recognize that tech prices might not always align with supply and demand but could be strategic moves by monopolistic players. The Power of Animation and Industry Trends: What's Next? Looking ahead, animation will continue to dominate storytelling for superheroes and sci-fi, especially with high-quality productions like Batman Nightfall. The upcoming trilogy promises dark, immersive, and visually stunning narratives that rival blockbuster films.Meanwhile, the industry's behind-the-scenes drama over hardware supply chains could lead to further shortages and price hikes, changing how and when we upgrade our devices. As a consumer, staying updated helps you make smarter purchases and avoid inflated bills. Next actionable step : Keep an eye on upcoming release dates, industry lawsuits, and animation projects. They are indicators of where entertainment and technology are headed. Final Takeaways: Staying Ahead in a World of Nostalgia and Industry Secrets Nostalgia is powerful: Reboots like Thundercats and Toy Story prove quality animation and storytelling remain king. Animation is the future: It's the best vehicle for bringing classic characters to life in a modern, engaging way. Industry secrets matter: Hidden lawsuits and conspiracy claims about RAM shortages could influence hardware prices and availability for years to come. I am still honoring the memory of Ethel, a tiny Chihuahua with the fierce spirit of an 80-pound Doberman who ruled the house, barked at motion detectors, and hid behind her human when things got too real. We also dive deep into the heavy, often misplaced guilt that comes with losing a pet, and discuss the practical, difficult reality of "sitting out life." While waiting for therapy or medications to reach a steady state, how do we begin to re-engage with the world? Join me for a raw, honest conversation about love, loss, and the slow climb back into life. Grief sucks and is lonely, but I look forward to each day and don't feel #PetLoss #GriefJourney #MentalHealthMatters #HonoringEthel #ChihuahuaLove #GriefAndGuilt #PodcastLife #HealingProcess #MentalHealthSupport Ever wonder why your premium coffee sometimes tastes overwhelmingly bitter or completely flat? In this episode, we break down the stark differences between warehouse-sitting commodity brands and small-batch, roast-to-order coffee. Discover what a "Roasted On" date actually means for your morning cup, how ethical sourcing impacts flavor profile, and why you don't have to sacrifice quality for home-brewing convenience. What We Cover in This Episode The chemical reality of coffee stales: Why "Best By" dates are lying to you. What "Convenience Plus" means for modern coffee enthusiasts. Small-batch vs. mass industrial roasting: How consistency protects your palate. The real economics of a specialty coffee subscription (breaking down the cost per cup). The cast split into warring factions, creating an environment so toxic that Bravo executives famously executed a "mass firing" at the end of the run. Key Storylines & Episode Hooks The Post-Bethenny Power Vacuum: With Bethenny Frankel gone, Jill Zarin tries to regain her status as the "Queen Bee" via a highly calculated, failed apology tour. The Arrival of Cindy Barshop: The one-season wonder introduces the world to "Vajazzling" while immediately clashing with Ramona and Sonja over arbitrary Upper East Side "pecking orders." The Morocco Disaster (Episodes 8–10): The defining trip of the season. Luann acts like a colonial matriarch, Ramona complains about the country being "dirty," and Alex McCord breaks out in literal stress hives while attempting to crash a dinner party. The Real Vibe: Pre-MAGA Populist Elitism Long before the modern political landscape had a name, Season 4 was its perfect blueprint. Kelly Bensimon weaponized language to live in a post-truth reality, coining the phrase "systematic bullying" to escape accountability. Ramona Singer proudly practiced the "rules don't apply to me" philosophy—physically shoving women to grab the best bedrooms and dismissing anything outside her zip code as "the boonies." Season 5: The Great Reboot (2012) The Setup Out with the old, in with the new. Bravo cleans house—firing Jill, Kelly, Alex, and Cindy—and introduces three brand-new housewives to shake up the mainstays (Ramona, Sonja, and Luann). Key Storylines & Episode Hooks The Enter of the Alpha (Heather Thomson): Sharp shapewear CEO Heather enters yelling "Holla!" and immediately sets boundaries with Ramona, completely refusing to bow to her bullying. The Radical Fragility of Aviva Drescher: Aviva introduces a highly glossy Upper East Side aesthetic, but her deep-seated phobias quickly take center stage. The St. Barth's Trip (Episodes 11–14): The peak reality TV crossover. Luann gets caught sneaking a French pirate into her bedroom and frantically speaks French on the phone to hide it, while Aviva arrives late and calls Ramona and Sonja "white trash" for not throwing her a party just for getting off an airplane. The Real Vibe: Weaponized Victimhood Season 5 perfected the art of using personal trauma as offensive artillery. Aviva Drescher used her prosthetic leg and medical anxieties as a bulletproof shield—positioning herself as the ultimate aggrieved underdog while simultaneously insulting her peers, demonstrating how loud privilege can completely rewrite group accountability.

We just did a two-part episode with Dr. Cassandra Lee that tackles all the different cartilage restoration options for the patellofemoral joint. So go check that out if you want to hear more about when to choose OATS vs. OCA vs. MACI. But for today: let's chat about osteotomies. In this episode, we discuss:What are some key findings to look for on exam and imaging to determine if a realignment osteotomy is needed? We are familiar with the tibial tubercle trochlear groove (TT-TG) measurement, but what is the Sagittal TT-TG (sTT-TG) distance and what does it tell us?How should a tibial tubercle osteotomy (TTO) be customized to address different areas of cartilage pathology? (Check out our Instagram - @thesportsdocspod - to see different types of TTOs based on location of cartilage lesion and/or presence of instability in the setting of malalignment.)How can the TTO surgical technique be modified to minimize risk of complications when performing a complete tubercle detachment? Image 3 shows four surgical tips for lessening complication risk. There are other osteotomies besides TTO to address patellofemoral pathology — including a derotational distal femoral osteotomy. What are the indications for this procedure?

On today's edition of the Loaded Radio Daily Breakdown, host Scott Penfold brings his 25-year rock radio personality to the mic to unpack the absolute wildest 48 hours of stadium chaos, internet data breaches, and industry reboots. First up, we break down the absolute disaster that struck Iron Maiden's June 22 concert at the La Défense Arena in Paris, France. Mid-song, a massive city-wide power outage plunged Europe's largest indoor venue into pitch-black darkness. We talk about the hour-long blackout, how it derailed their highly anticipated "Run For Your Lives" tour film shoot, and the strict city curfews that forced Bruce Dickinson to cut the night short—costing fans a three-song encore block of "Aces High", "Fear Of The Dark", and "Wasted Years". Then, we dive into the online chaos surrounding Deftones. A massive cache of long-shelved material has leaked across underground message boards, including 11 tracks from the mythical 2008 album 'Eros'—featuring the final bass lines of the late Chi Cheng—alongside raw demo sessions from 2020's 'Ohms' and an unreleased song titled "Sensations". We look at the emotional weight of the leak, the ethics of streaming it against Chino Moreno's wishes, and the "Copyright Sheriff" sweeping the files off YouTube. Finally, we track the massive changes happening inside Bad Wolves. Following a rolling member exodus, founding drummer John Boecklin has completely rebuilt the band from scratch—even turning down a massive seven-figure bid from ex-vocalist Tommy Vext to buy the rights to the name. With a major reveal locked in for next Monday, June 29th, we break down the heavy rumors placing Sara "Killboy" Skinner on vocals and Animals As Leaders' Javier Reyes on guitar, plus updates on where the rest of the former members have landed. Send us Fan MailPodcast Show Notes: What if one of the most profitable things you could do for your paint department wasn't painting more cars... but preventing problems before they ever happen? In this final episode reshare of the Keeping It Kleen series, we're focusing on one of the most overlooked opportunities in collision repair: Preventative Maintenance. Most shops accept a certain amount of dirt nibs, fisheyes, denibbing, polishing, and even the occasional repaint as just part of the business. But what if many of those issues could be dramatically reduced through better maintenance, cleaner processes, and stronger shop habits? In this episode, I break down why paint contamination isn't just a quality issue—it's a profitability issue. We discuss how rework quietly steals money through wasted materials, lost production time, increased energy costs, and unnecessary stress on your team. More importantly, we uncover the practical steps shops can take to create cleaner paint jobs and more consistent results. We'll explore everything from booth filters, airflow, compressors, airlines, and desiccant systems to vehicle prep procedures, spray gun maintenance, PPE, and paint department SOPs. You'll also learn why your spray booth should be viewed as one of the most valuable assets in your business and how a structured monthly or quarterly preventative maintenance program can protect both your equipment and your profits. If you're looking for cleaner finishes, fewer redos, and a more profitable paint department, this episode provides the roadmap.Key Takeaways:

Spoilers ahead for Masters of the Universe. Jason and Rachel review Masters of the Universe, the new He-Man movie from Amazon MGM and Mattel. Rachel grew up on He-Man, She-Ra, and the whole Masters of the Universe toy-cartoon universe. Jason mostly remembers it as the moment he realized cartoons could just be commercials for toys. So naturally, expectations were complicated. We get into why the new Masters of the Universe feels like it can't decide what kind of movie it wants to be, whether He-Man works as modern IP, the strange tone, the comedy that doesn't always land, the nostalgia callbacks, the “He-Man” name problem, the 1987 Dolph Lundgren version, the She-Ra tease, and why Skeletor is easily the best thing in the movie. Plus: Jared Leto, Alison Brie, Idris Elba, Battle Cat asking for consent, Ram Man, Fisto, Brian May guitars, toy-commercial cynicism, masculine legacy confusion, and whether hardcore Masters of the Universe fans will have a better time than we did.
