Director Josh Trank, hot off of his indy superhero film, Chronicle, was tapped to direct Fox's latest attempt to hang onto the rights of Marvel's Fantastic Four characters! It seemed like a no-brainer as his Chronicle movie was similar to FF in many respects, a small group of friends accidentally encounter alien material that grants them fantastic abilities...some use their new powers for good and some for evil. Sound familiar??? Somehow, it all went south...this movie is a mess and all the booze in the world could not make it any better!

Eric Sharp on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 5/11/22 About Eric Sharp - Eric Sharp combines a conscientious mindset with unshakable musical passion. As a DJ, Eric has brought his own style of intelligent, sophisticated, somatic house music comfortably to intimate private parties, club nights, and massive festivals alike - most recently being tapped for a residency at LA's esteemed Sound Nightclub. With his personal productions, Eric has expanded his impact beyond simply a purveyor of taste and into a true creator. In 2013, Sharp signed to Win Music (home of Duke Dumont, Tiga, and more) and released his EP “Sharp Cuts.” Fronted by vocals from Anna Lunoe and others, the release of these songs cemented Eric as a true artist. He has continued to build upon this foundation with remixes for Atlantic Records' Melanie Martinez, Major Lazer's Jillionaire, and Grammy winners Jars Of Clay. 2018 saw Eric's music reach new heights, smashing previous plateaus with the release of his Eric Sharp & Friends EP via Little Assembly. His productions remain widely lauded in press, with Take This Time holding the #1 spot on Hype Machine for 3 days and Too Much also hitting the top 20. In 2019 Eric released Monday Blues via Sweden's House Music With Love imprint, again topping Hype Machine and amassing over 450k Spotify streams. Now emerging from COVID lockdowns with an arsenal of new work, expect an onslaught of emotive and driving dance music to come from this passionate soul while he continues to move crowds with his infectious energy. TODAY'S GUEST Jerry Colonna is the CEO and co-founder of Reboot.io, an executive coaching and leadership development firm whose coaches and facilitators are committed to the notion that better humans make better leaders. For nearly 20 years, he has used the knowledge gained as an investor, an executive, and a board member for more than 100 organizations to help entrepreneurs and others to lead with humanity, resilience, and equanimity. He's been called the CEO Whisperer and the Coach with the Spider Tattoo, and has taken refuge in the Buddhist dharma tradition. Previous to his career as a coach, he was a partner with JPMorgan Partners (JPMP), the private equity arm of JP Morgan Chase. And before that, had launched Flatiron Partners with partner, Fred Wilson. Flatiron became one of the most successful, early-stage investment programs in the New York City area. Today, he lives in Boulder, Colorado. EPISODE SUMMARY In this conversation we talk about: COVID, and how it exposed the interdependence, but also the inequality of American society. Leadership in the context of the Ukraine war, and how when leaders don't address their vulnerable and wounded parts, that expresses itself in violence. We discuss that in the context of malignant narcissism with Putin, and also with Trump. His childhood, and how he became keenly aware of how people around him are feeling. His career in venture, and how he veered from that into coaching. My therapy session, where he points his radical inquiry, his coach mind, at me. My tendency to hide, to not want to be very active on social media, at least not publicly on Twitter. My fear of being judged, and my fears of not being seen or appreciated. What it means to bring your whole self to every challenge in your life, at work, and at any other moment. How everything is an opportunity for self growth, and to practice that. His reboot system and method, and his book. How everybody in life is basically looking for love, safety, and belonging. We had this conversation in mid-March 2022, and that was two years into the worldwide outbreak of COVID, and a couple of weeks into Russia's invasion of Ukraine. I was excited and nervous to talk to Jerry, who's famous for making podcasters cry. We also had a brief chat months before preparing for this interview and I already had a taste of his radical inquiry approach to coaching. So as expected, this did not end up being a regular interview. While we got to explore his history and his ideas and his childhood a little bit, Jerry turned his radical inquiry on me as expected. And you'll get to hear a pretty detailed coaching/therapy session on this podcast and dive deeper into my fears and insecurities along the way. I have to say, I found it deeply therapeutic, both at the time, and now weeks later when I relisten. This was a very different, very meaningful process for me, and I hope that you'll find it beneficial as well. It definitely affected the way that I approach putting myself out there and allow myself to be more visible on social media. Shortly after this interview was recorded, I definitely did start being more vocal and an amazing thing happened. As I started being more vocal on Twitter and other platforms, we got more and more downloads for this podcast and the podcast started growing very, very rapidly. And so I owe a big thank you to Jerry for challenging my assumptions and helping me pinpoint these insecurities. Jerry assured me that this is helpful to other people to hear. So I really hope that will prove true, and that you'll find this episode really helpful to you in your journey as well. This conversation with Jerry is one of a dozen or so weekly conversations we already have lined up for you with thinkers, designers, makers, authors, philosophers, entrepreneurs, and investors who are working to change our world for the better. So follow this podcast on your favorite podcast app, or head over to remakepod.org to subscribe. And now let's jump right in with Jerry Colonna. Party Shirt on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 5/3/22 About Party Shirt - Before topping the TikTok pop chart, Party Shirt was born when Xavier Di Petta (“X”) and Nick Iavarone (“Ivy”) met in a USC dorm room in the summer of 2016. The two music producers immediately knew they wanted to work together after bonding over a mutual appreciation for music, acting, and fashion. They began partnering on music projects, forming a DJ duo and released the first single off their EP Liquid Powder under the name Party Shirt. Their debut single "Dancing Tonight" hit No. 1 on the TikTok pop chart. Since then, the song has been featured in more than 50,000 TikTok videos and has accumulated more than 200 million views. When the pandemic hit, being entertainers at heart, they turned to TikTok. After they gained followers by posting their music on the app, they began producing the “Fact or Cap” series. They became one of fastest growing creators on the platform and they currently have over 20.9 million TikTok fans. They also became popular on Instagram gaining 400K followers. They have been featured in several online publications and have appeared on several podcasts. Party Shirt had also launched their NFT project called SUPERSTARS which is designed to empower content creators of all kinds to do what they love and to inspire their community. Still Life on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 5/3/22 About Still Life - Paul Gribby AKA Still-Life, remembers being in a small, dark club, looking at the speakers on the wall and saying to himself “I could listen to this kick drum for the rest of my life”. The rest as they say, “Is history”. Having played all over the UK, including Glastonbury festival, Bestival Festival, Zoo Project Festival, Strawberry Fields Festival, New Zealand, Dubai, Malta, Ibiza, Thailand and Poland. When facing technical difficulties with your computer, the easiest solution is often just to reboot it. But can you hit control, alt, delete on a political party? In his book, American Reboot: An Idealist's Guide to Getting Big Things Done, former Republican congressman and CIA officer William Hurd argues you definitely can. Dubbed “the future of the GOP” by Politico and Texas Monthly, Hurd reveals his secrets to success in turning red a large district that has traditionally voted blue. He provides a clear-eyed path forward for America, grounded by what Hurd calls "pragmatic idealism"—a concept forged from enduring American values to achieve what is actually achievable. From his critical analysis of the GOP's foggy vision for the future to discussing the impact of rapid technological advancements, Hurd will tackle five seismic problems facing the U.S. as outlined in his book. Join us as Hurd shares his unique experience as a Black republican in the House, with a vibrant career in intelligence, articulating what domestic policy can look like by appealing to the middle and empowering people. William Hurd served as the U.S. representative for Texas's 23rd congressional district from 2015-2021. He is currently a managing director at Allen & Company and most recently served as a fellow at the University of Chicago Institute of Politics. Additionally, he is growing the U.S. transatlantic partnership with Europe as a trustee of the German Marshall Fund and an OpenAI board member. Hurd worked for the CIA from 2000 to 2009, completing a tour of duty as an operations officer in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. He has a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in international relations from Texas A&M University. Moderated by Lee Cullum, journalist at Public Media of North Texas (KERA/PBS) and Senior Fellow at the John Tower Center for Public Policy and International Affairs at SMU. . .
