Spoilers ahead for Masters of the Universe. Jason and Rachel review Masters of the Universe, the new He-Man movie from Amazon MGM and Mattel. Rachel grew up on He-Man, She-Ra, and the whole Masters of the Universe toy-cartoon universe. Jason mostly remembers it as the moment he realized cartoons could just be commercials for toys. So naturally, expectations were complicated. We get into why the new Masters of the Universe feels like it can't decide what kind of movie it wants to be, whether He-Man works as modern IP, the strange tone, the comedy that doesn't always land, the nostalgia callbacks, the “He-Man” name problem, the 1987 Dolph Lundgren version, the She-Ra tease, and why Skeletor is easily the best thing in the movie. Plus: Jared Leto, Alison Brie, Idris Elba, Battle Cat asking for consent, Ram Man, Fisto, Brian May guitars, toy-commercial cynicism, masculine legacy confusion, and whether hardcore Masters of the Universe fans will have a better time than we did. (airdate: 6.11.26) Today in celebrity déjà vu, Hollywood proves it still has a sequel button as 24 Jump Street inches closer to reality with Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube reportedly returning for another undercover adventure. Meanwhile, Zac Efron is building a futuristic Australian home made largely from hemp, because apparently celebrity real estate now doubles as a science experiment. And Hugh Laurie admits he was "very slightly drunk" when he fired back at a critic who dared suggest House was a little repetitive. Spoiler alert: Hugh later apologized, proving even TV geniuses occasionally send emails they wish they'd left in Drafts.

The Transformers franchise is shifting gears again, and this episode breaks down the latest writer news and what it signals for the road ahead. Paramount and Hasbro have brought in Jason Fuchs to write a new live-action Transformers movie, and his resume reads as a mixed bag of big swings, from Wonder Woman and Welcome to Derry to Argylle and the 2015 fantasy film Pan. That hire lands at a pivotal moment, with a second live-action project already moving as a Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover written by Derek Connolly. This is a franchise squarely in rebuilding mode. Transformers One underperformed at the box office despite being better than its reputation suggests, Rise of the Beasts performed commercially but took critical hits, and the well-liked Bumblebee approach has been left behind. The big question on the table: is a reboot coming too soon, or is fresh blood exactly what Transformers needs to win over a new generation?Timestamps0:00 New Transformers Movie and the Jason Fuchs Hire0:08 What Fuchs Is Known For: Wonder Woman, Welcome to Derry, Argylle, Pan0:14 The G.I. Reboot the Earth (Eden Protocol) - The Future Is Ours Track 11

Notes Sample: “When the Machines Rock” by Tubeway Army Written and produced by Kinte Synopsis “Reboot the Earth (Eden Protocol)” imagines a full reset for humanity before the planet reaches the point of no return. Sampling “When the Machines Rock,” Kinte turns the track into a futuristic repair manual, calling for people to delete greed, restore compassion, rebuild communities, protect the environment, and bring soul back into the system. In the context of The Future Is Ours, the Eden Protocol is the album's idea of a planetary reset plan — a moral, spiritual, and futuristic repair code for humanity. It means: reboot the Earth before it is too late. On the album, the world has been damaged by AI misuse, overcrowding, pollution, plastic waste, climate collapse, greed, and disconnection. By the time the listener reaches “Reboot the Earth (Eden Protocol)”, the album is no longer just warning people about the future — it is offering a solution. The Eden Protocol is like a set of instructions for rebuilding the world: Delete greed. Restore compassion. Protect the planet. Feed people. House people. Clean the water. Teach the truth. Let the Earth breathe again. The word Eden connects to the idea of a lost paradise — a clean, balanced world before mankind corrupted it. The word Protocol makes it sound futuristic, like a system command or computer program. So together, Eden Protocol means a future-tech plan to return the world to balance, but with more wisdom than before. For the story of the album, Eden Protocol is the chapter where Kinte says: we do not need to escape Earth, and we do not need to surrender to machines. We need to fix what we broke and rebuild the future with soul. Chapter 11: Reboot the Earth (Eden Protocol) After the lesson of Sankofa, the album presents a solution. “Reboot the Earth” imagines a full reset of humanity's values. Greed must be deleted. Compassion must be restored. Housing, food, water, energy, education, and peace must be rebuilt as human rights. This chapter is the repair manual for the future. It says that the Earth does not need another empire — it needs healing, justice, and balance. #RebootTheEarth #EdenProtocol #Kinte Lyrics [Hook] Reboot the Earth, run the Eden protocol, Delete the greed, reinstall the soul. If the system corrupted, we don't beg for control We patch it with love till it reach its goal. [Verse 1] Step one: unlearn what they taught you to crave, Step two: plant food where the bullets used to wave. Step three: share water like it's sacred law, Step four: build housing like human rights, not a flaw. [Interlude / System Voice] Warning: Profit motive detected. Warning: Empathy levels rising. [Verse 2] Step five: power grids that don't poison the kids, Step six: make peace louder than the bids. Step seven: tell the truth in the classroom again, Step eight: let the Earth breathe like a friend. [Hook] Reboot the Earth, run the Eden protocol, Delete the greed, reinstall the soul. If the system corrupted, we don't beg for control We patch it with love till it reach its goal.

What does it mean to truly be "okay with being okay?" For many of us, the pursuit of growth, success, and improvement is relentless, often leaving little room for simply accepting ourselves as we are. But what if the real work of adulthood is learning to quiet the inner gremlins, embrace our own enoughness, and build belonging from the inside out? In this episode, Grace Belangia joins Jerry on the podcast for a second time to discuss rejection, self-worth, and the courage to create community. Together, they explore the importance of building one's own table of belonging and how courageous conversations can transform both our inner and outer worlds. Leave us a review on Apple Podcasts! Send us Fan MailShow Notes:Keeping It Kleen Series – Part 1: Root Sources of ContaminationHow much money is paint contamination really costing your shop? Most shop owners and leaders know dirt nibs and fisheyes are frustrating, but very few realize just how much these seemingly small defects are costing them in lost productivity, wasted materials, missed delivery dates, rental extensions, and unnecessary rework. Across the collision industry, paint contamination is creating millions of dollars in avoidable expenses every year.In this first episode of the Mind Wrench Podcast's "Keeping It Kleen" series, we take a deep dive into the root causes of contamination and reveal a simple framework that can help any shop identify where their problems are really coming from. The reality is that virtually every contamination issue can be traced back to one of three sources: the booth, the vehicle, or the painter. We'll discuss why your paint booth should be viewed as the cash register of your business, how poor maintenance and airflow issues create defects, and why common shortcuts in vehicle preparation can come back to haunt you in the spray booth. We also cover painter-related causes, including PPE, spray gun maintenance, tack rag techniques, and contamination prevention habits that can dramatically improve first-time quality. If you're tired of redos, frustrated with inconsistent paint results, or simply looking for ways to improve profitability, this episode delivers practical, real-world solutions you can start implementing immediately.Key Takeaways:

Lodge season does not “start” so much as it hits you all at once. Early June brings that first real wave of guests, the scramble to reopen cabins and docks, and the reality that Mother Nature controls the schedule, especially when you are running an island lodge on the French River. We talk through what those first days actually feel like, from the excitement of opening to the gritty details that never make it into the brochure. A big theme is staffing a remote fishing lodge when turnover is normal and training time is limited. We get honest about why overhiring can be the only sane plan, how culture shock shows up fast when young staff live in a dorm-style setup, and why lodge owners spend so much time managing personalities. We also share what helps people last, including scheduling true escape time off-island so staff can reset and come back stronger. We dig into guest experience and expectation management in hospitality. Instead of pretending everything is perfect in week one, we explain the “training period” approach: subsidising early trips in exchange for patience and feedback. That shift turns guests into partners, helps returning anglers reinforce dock routines, and builds a community that improves service, reviews, and morale. Along the way, we get into the unglamorous systems that matter, like orientation, fire drills, and the very real grinder pump rules. Then we tell a spring work story that sums up lodge life: rebuilding a stone walkway with 987 bags of concrete, moved by hand on an island, right up until guests arrived. If you are thinking about lodge jobs in Canada, we also share exactly how to stand out by calling, researching, and making a real impression. Subscribe, share this with someone who loves the outdoors, and leave a review so more people can find these Stories Of The North.

In this powerful and deeply personal episode, Savio P. Clemente — two-time cancer survivor, TEDx speaker, and creator of Adaptive Resilience Leadership — shares how a life-saving stem cell transplant he calls his “medical rebirth” completely transformed the way he thinks about pressure, performance, and leadership. After beating cancer twice and conducting over 2,000 interviews as a journalist, Savio developed a breakthrough framework that helps healthcare executives and high-level leaders close the dangerous “Post-Crisis Leadership Gap” — that silent period after a major challenge when decision quality collapses even though everything looks fine on the surface. Savio reveals why most leaders unknowingly suffer from cognitive fatigue, how to restore clarity and judgment under sustained pressure, and the practical tools (including his A.L.O.H.A. Reboot) that turn adversity into long-term advantage. Whether you're a CEO, healthcare leader, or simply navigating your own crisis, this conversation delivers actionable strategies for building resilience that actually works. Savio's best-selling book I Survived Cancer. Here's How I Did It is currently being considered for film and television adaptation, and his TEDx Talk “7 Minutes to Wellness: How to Love Your Inner Stranger” continues to inspire audiences worldwide.

Truckstop.com's reboot: Inside the leadership purge, staff reduction, renewed customer focus

In this week's podcast, Truckstop.com founder and CEO Scott Moscrip tells the story of his return to an active management role in the company after the prior CEO's removal and company board's insistence he retake the wheel. Since that happened, roughly a year ago now, "we started trimming at the top," he said. "About 80% of Truckstop's leadership was let go within about six months of me being back." The business's shaky financial position was such that at his June 2025 return it was a live question of that whether the company would even be able to continue, as he put it. "It was that bad," he said, with bloat in the employee rolls up from roughly 400 when he first retired in 2019 to 2025, when Truckstop employed more than 1,000 people. Regular readers will know Moscrip launched the load board as the first on the Internet back in the 1990s, when the most common question he got from a broker or trucker about it was "how do I connect to the Internet?" Fast-forward to today, and the company still employs hundreds, and contracts outside support all the way across the world in places like India and the Phillippines. When Overdrive reported on that particular move in 2024, there'd been something of an uproar among sources inside the company about it, folks who worried about support levels declining. Asked about the outsourcing, as you'll hear in the podcast, Moscrip confirmed those overseas teams remain in place, yet they've helped the core Truckstop.com team renews its focus on the fundamentals of the business -- serving the customers that use the board with functional improvements. Oversears support efforts, he felt, had improved over time, too. "They're up to speed now," he said. "We've also gotten better at outsourcing functions that really aren't necessairly industry-knowledge-based. ... You don't have to be an industry person to help somebody update their credit card." With old "leadership out of the way," he added about the big shift this past year, the remaining more than 300 "employees are now leading the way." The load board's business, he said, is back to being "about our customers, and what we can do to help them. ... We've allowed them to come back and fill our idea buckets," which resulted in a 30-for-30 push on the company's 30th anniversary this year. That is: 30 new planned product enhancements for customers that's shaping up to be well more than 30. The company outlined all of the updates completed or planned as of mid-April in a document you'll find in the post that houses this podcast here: https://overdriveonline.com/15826494 In essence, Moscrip admits, the company strayed from what any business should be most closely focused on -- serving the customer. The loss of focus came a time that compounded the difficulty, as the “uberization of trucking” he questioned a decade ago came to fruition over the post-pandemic period. The negative ramifications were that entities flooded in looking at trucking like an easy-in-easy-out “gig economy,” he said , not playing by the same rules and regs established truckers and brokers did. The fraud and rates turmoil that resulted, he added, are top of mind for the load board as it makes new moves toward better tools.

Today's discussion will center around tips and tricks to optimize outcomes and some common pitfalls that may hold patients back from a full recovery. We have some great articles for you that contribute well to our conversation on the surgical treatment of knee cartilage disease. As always, links to all of the papers that we discuss on this show can be found on our podcast website. The first article is a level 3 case-control study published in the October 2020 issue of OJSM, titled Anterior Knee Pain After Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction. Gustavo Constantino de Campos and his team in Sao Paulo, Brazil retrospectively reviewed the records of 438 patients who underwent ACL reconstruction. Anterior knee pain was reported in 6.2% of cases. Patients who underwent ACL reconstruction with a patellar tendon autograft were 3.4 times more likely to experience anterior knee pain. Also, patients who experienced an extension deficit in the post-op period were also more likely to experience anterior knee pain, with an odds-ratio of 5.3. The authors fund that anterior knee pain was not correlated with patient sex, age or surgical technique. We are joined today by Dr. Candace Townley Cox. Candace is a Colorado native who received her Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Following undergrad Candace returned to Colorado as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Regis University in Denver. There, she earned her Master's degree in Sports Performance while working specifically with the Women's Volleyball and Softball teams. Candace continued her education at Regis University earning her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Since graduating Candace has spent countless hours in Sport Science Labs assessing movement quality, efficiency, as well as bone and muscle performance. As a movement expert, she is able to address the body's impairments both from a table assessment and from functional movement assessments.

Can we infuse our compassion with wisdom and perspective to find the agency to take meaningful action in our communities? In her new series, Engaged Compassion, Sharon delves into these questions and more, engaging in candid conversations with a diverse group of teachers, activists, and changemakers. Episode 744 kicks off with new merch in the wild and the ongoing expansion of the “protect the children from the internet” playbook. Manitoba is floating a ban on social media and AI chatbots for kids with details still TBD, while the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee somehow managed unanimous approval on chatbot age-verification legislation. Utah, not to be outdone, passed SB 73 — a law that tries to pin age verification on VPN users and even bans sites from explaining what a VPN is, a move that will mostly degrade the internet without solving the problem it claims to address. Meanwhile, John Oliver finally unloaded on the AI industry, echoing long-standing criticisms: rushed products, acknowledged risks, and outsourced consequences. In the news, a U.S. Army Special Forces master sergeant was arrested for allegedly turning classified intel about the Maduro capture into a $400K Polymarket win, then attempting to cover it up in ways that suggest poor operational planning. Meta cut more than 1,100 Kenyan content moderators after reports surfaced that they were exposed to explicit footage from smart glasses users, raising serious questions about labor practices in AI pipelines. Google signed a Pentagon AI deal despite internal backlash while posting massive revenue gains, underscoring where incentives actually land. OpenAI, meanwhile, is juggling missed targets, a shift away from Microsoft exclusivity, and continued reputational hits around Sam Altman — including a widely criticized apology tied to a mass shooting and a fabricated Bruno Mars tie-in for his World project. Add in a failed retrial bid from Sam Bankman-Fried, rising volumes of AI-generated web content, and political interference with the National Science Board, and the signal is clear: incentives are misaligned across the board. On the lighter side, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds returns July 23rd for its penultimate season, and Ted Lasso is back August 5th, for better or worse. Jack Dorsey beat the inevitable Elon attempt to reboot Vine with Divine, reviving six-second loops with a decentralized backbone and anti-AI safeguards. Apple continues its slow AI rollout with new photo editing tools, while Google pushes further into data aggregation with wardrobe-level photo analysis. Hardware check: Logitech's MX Keys S lands as a heavier, brighter $119 iteration. In books, Peter Clines delivers with God's Junk Drawer, while Martha Wells signals that the Murderbot series may be nearing its end. The Dark Side with Dave ties it together with gun storage PSAs, Disneyland lore, Galaxy's Edge playlists, and a conversational detour through Super Dave, Martin Short, and the ongoing quirks of instant replay in baseball.Show notes at https://gog.show/744Watch on YouTube at https://youtu.be/P3NOSXlCs9EFOLLOW UPNew Merch!Canadian premier wants to ban social media and AI chatbots for kids in ManitobaSenate Judiciary Committee unanimously approves AI chatbot age verificationUtah's New Law Targeting VPNs Goes Into Effect Next WeekJohn Oliver Just Took the AI Industry Behind a Shed and Beat It With a Pipe WrenchIN THE NEWSUS soldier arrested for allegedly making over $400,000 on Polymarket with classified Maduro informationMeta in row after workers who say they saw smart glasses users having sex lose jobsGoogle employees ask Sundar Pichai to say no to classified military AI useGoogle Signs Pentagon AI Deal Despite Employee BacklashGoogle Gives OpenAI 20 Billion Reasons To WorryOpenAI's Sam Altman apologizes for not reporting ChatGPT account of Tumbler Ridge suspect to policeSam Altman Caught in What May Be His Most Spectacular Lie YetOpenAI ends its exclusive partnership with Microsoft‘Never Talk About Goblins': OpenAI's Instructions to Codex Have a Weirdly Emphatic No-Creatures PolicySam Bankman-Fried Seems to Annoy Judge and Lose Latest Motion for New TrialDead Internet Theory Is 17% of the Way to Becoming Reality, Study FindsMatt Mullenweg thinks WordPress is in decline.
