Sunday, we will finish 1 John 4. Verses 17-21 are part of the larger section (v. 7-21) teaching how love for the brothers and sisters in Christ is evidence of salvation. All through 1 John, he has given us the grounds of assurance by pointing to what God actually does in the hearts of those He saves. So John's examination is not asking whether we a loving one another well enough to have assurance but examining what the Spirit has done in our heart. Verse 12 showed two realities that are proven when we love one another, God abides in us, and God's love is perfected in us. Verses 13–16 explained how we know God abides in us. This week verses 17–21 take up “perfected” love. “Perfected” here does not mean God's love was incomplete until we finished it. He means God's love reaches its intended goal when it flows through us toward the people of God. (We learned this from v. 12). John tells us that this “perfected love” (i.e. loving one another) gives us confidence for the day of judgment and proves whether our claimed love for God is real. While this passage is difficult, it is not intended to destroy believers who fail to love as they should. John is writing so the believers would know they have eternal life. We need this text! Some who proclaim their love for God but live sidestepping the body of Christ need to be warned. Believers in despair because they repeatedly fail to love as they ought need to know that the only reason we love at all is because he first loved us. The evidence John points to here is not a love that never fails, but a love that keeps striving with one another, investing itself with the body. The answer for both the person who treats Christ's people as optional and the person crushed by repeated failure is the same: go back to the cross, let his love continually mold you and then invest your life (however imperfectly) in the brothers and sisters you can see (v. 20). I. Love “Perfected” Produces Confidence (1 John 4:17–18) II. Love For The Brethren Proves Love For God (1 John 4:19–20) III. Love's Command Includes God And Brother (1 John 4:21)

Casper Kelly's horror comedy Buddy took the number six spot at the domestic box office with $5.36 million, a solid start for a film that was released on less than 1,800 total screens.In an interview with The L.A. The next picture Luke writes to Theophilus and to us has to do once again with Jesus casting out a demon which made the man mute unable to speak. Well this brought about the occasion for some to accuse Jesus of using the power of Beelzebul to do this. Now Beelzebul or Beelzebub is another name for Satan, the devil.Jesus then speaks to these people to show their utter inconsistency and irrationality of any kingdom or house being divided against itself. If division persists that fall will be great and this is true even of Satan.These accusers need to see how irrational their thinking is that it is not right. And then Dr. Mitchell goes on to speak in detail about the unpardonable sin what it is and what it is not.Well there is  Dr. Mitchell once again to explain on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast, Luke chapter 11 verse 14.

Scott started drinking at 11, and says that alcohol was at the foundation of all he did. He chose to attend college in a party town, and it took seven years to get a bachelor degree. He is grateful that the rehab he attended brought him to AA meetings because the counselors talked about Scott and he put up his defenses, while the AA members talked about themselves, and Scott couldn't help but identify. What does it mean to truly know that God loves us, not just as a fact we recite, but as a reality that reshapes how we live? In this deep dive into 1 John 4:16-18, we explore one of the most profound theological truths in all of scripture: God is love. This is not a sentiment for greeting cards or coffee mugs. It is the very nature of God himself, and when that love takes root in us, nothing stays the same. We look at how John builds his case throughout this letter, returning again and again to love as the clearest visible evidence that God is genuinely at work in a believer's life. The invisible God becomes visible through us, through the way we treat one another, through the way we extend grace in hard moments, and through the way we reflect his character into a watching world. We also wrestle honestly with why so many of us struggle to receive this love, how our upbringing, our wounds, and our circumstances can distort our picture of God. And yet the cross stands as God's eternal, unchanging declaration that his love is real and that it is for us. This message invites us to stop measuring God's love by our circumstances and to anchor our confidence in what Christ has already accomplished.
