There's few women who can put their hand on their heart and say that they've never struggled with their pricing decisions. If you ever found yourself agonising over your prices, tweaking numbers on your spreadsheet for hours, then dropping them by half when your prospect enquires …you're definitely not alone! Pricing is such a silent struggle, especially for women in business like me, who grew up in a household where it was considered rude to discuss money! Today on She's The Business Podcast, I'm breaking the taboo and talking openly about the topic most of us avoid: how to raise your rates ethically, keep your clients happy, and actually grow your business – all at the same time. Yes, it really is possible! I know that money talk can make us uncomfortable. It brings up all sorts of doubts, guilt, and that relentless inner critic. We worry about what our clients will think, whether we'll lose them, or if we'll sound greedy. But here's the twist: charging too little doesn't just hurt your bottom line - it can impact your energy, attract the wrong kind of clients, and even make you resent your business over time. So in this episode, I'm sharing what really works (based on years of experience and experiments!) when it comes to setting your prices right. If you've ever felt stuck, compared yourself to others, or dreaded making a change, this episode is for you. Here's what you'll hear more about when you tune in: Why do women find it so hard to talk about pricing, and what hidden consequences does undercharging really have? What are the most common fears about raising your prices, and are they as logical as they sound? How can shifting your price actually attract higher-quality clients and open new opportunities you haven't even seen yet? What mindset barriers pop up around “judgment” and how can you beat that inner critic at its own game? Why does standing out and differentiating yourself make pricing so much easier than just blending in with the crowd? All this and plenty of practical advice, without the gimmicky tactics or endless bonuses you see online. If you're ready to feel confident and energised about what you charge, tune in now ......…….. These are your ‘thought habits' as described by Amy Kemp - and they have a huge (yet often ignored) impact on how you're running your business. Maybe you can sense there's something holding you back, but you can't quite put your finger on it. Maybe you've tried to do more, try new tactics, change offers… yet nothing shifts your results? What subconscious thought habits actually are (hint: most of us have no idea we're even running them) and how they show up in our business and life. How changing your automatic thought patterns can unlock new results, and how Amy's unique assessment tool can help you spot your hidden habits. Why high-achieving women often fall into patterns of overwork, perfectionism, or people-pleasing, and the personal story behind Amy's own wake-up moment. How to know if it's time to explore your own thought habits - and some simple ways to start catching them in action. If you've ever wondered, “Why do I keep getting stuck here?” or “What needs to change for me to create more ease and success?” then this conversation is one you don't want to miss. Curious? Welcome to this week's edition of Everything Fast Pitch by Fast Pitch Prep with Coach Tory and Coach Don. The episode covers various segments, including highlights like 'Did You Know?', which discusses the rapid changes in collegiate sports, specifically pointing out the firing of Penn State's James Franklin. The 'City of the Week' is Kansas City, Missouri, recognized for its active support in fast pitch softball. In the 'Player of the Week' segment, a team is highlighted for their teamwork and resilience. The equipment tip focuses on the benefits of Square Cuts training discs for better hitting efficiency. A listener question sparks a discussion on the importance of practicing hitting despite time constraints. The segment transitions into managing feedback from multiple coaches and instructors. An 'old softball dad' shares nostalgic insights on how travel ball has evolved, emphasizing that serious teams traditionally end their seasons in non-vacation spots. The 'Action Coach Coaching Tip of the Week' stresses the importance of treating practices and training sessions as preparation for 'test day' in games. Support the show
Are you someone who's always found yourself in the high-achiever camp - ticking boxes, reaching goals, maybe being a little harder on yourself than you'd ever admit? If so, this episode is especially for you. I'm revealing some home truths about what it really means to be a high achiever in business, warts and all. We're talking about why your strongest traits might be both your greatest strengths and the sneaky culprits slowing your progress. In today's episode, I'm sharing honest stories from my own journey - moments where my high-achieving mindset helped me break through and times when it actually held me back. If you've ever found yourself frustrated, watching others “fly ahead” while you're quietly wondering, “Why am I not further along by now?” then stick around. I promise, you're not alone, and there's a good reason behind it. Here's a taste of what I chat about in this episode: Why do some of our top strengths turn into our biggest obstacles in entrepreneurship? (And what can we do about it?) What are the classic “toxic traits” high achievers need to watch out for - like thinking, “I already know this,” or refusing to ask for help? How can you spot when your drive and capability are actually holding you back, especially when it comes to letting go and getting support in your business? Why is it so vital to check if your business foundations are strong enough for the next level (or are you still building on “one-storey” foundations when you want a “five-storey” business)? How can a mastermind or strategic community help you finally move past those hidden roadblocks - even if you've “done this before?” Curious which of these high-achievers' self-sabotaging habits you might be living into, and how you can flip them into true superpowers? Grab your coffee, put your feet up, and let's have a real conversation about what makes success sustainable and fun. Listen in - I can't wait to share this with you! ..................................................... ARE YOU TIRED OF CHASING CLIENTS? How often do you put yourself first, truly first, when it comes to how you prioritise your time each day? If you're anything like me, your mind is probably racing with to-do lists, business goals, kids' schedules and everything else in life that “has to” be done. But what if giving yourself just a few intentional minutes - thirty, fifteen, or even five - your whole approach to business and life can be dramatically different? This week, I'm absolutely thrilled to welcome Lesley Logan to the show. Lesley is the founder of onlinepilatesclasses.com, a platform packed with bite-sized Pilates sessions. She's made it her mission to help women, especially those of us used to running on overdrive, truly embrace what it means to prioritise ourselves. She's not just about fitness routines; Lesley is an advocate for dropping perfection, creating real habits, and making YOU the centre of your schedule (not just your business). Here's what we uncovered together: Why is it so tough for high-achieving women to step away from “busy” and actually prioritise fun, rest, and simple self-care? What does it look like to design a business- and a life - that actually lights you up (instead of burning you out)? How do you know what really fills your cup… and how do you start making time for those things, even if you've never done it before? What are some practical, zero-fuss ways to start putting yourself higher on your priority list - even if you think you don't have a spare minute? And why making these changes isn't just about you - it's actually the key to showing up as the best version of yourself for your loved ones and your business. Whether you think you don't have time, or you're just craving permission to try something different, you'll appreciate Lesley's refreshingly honest, practical take on what success really looks like! I guarantee you'll feel more motivated and inspired to carve out a bit of space for yourself after listening to this episode. Ready? Hit play and let's begin. Then the brothers dive into the new AI platform Sora 2, explaining why it could completely reshape how people create and watch content. They also break down a fascinating change in football, revealing how the NFL's new kicker balls are making it easier than ever to break field goal records, thanks to new rules that let teams wear them down before kicks. But the core of this episode centers on Mr Beast and his highly anticipated 10-year video, where he hoped to have a million subscribers. This week we're covering everything from a galaxy far, far away to potholes right here in Kent. First up: Lucasfilm just dropped the trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu (yes, Baby Yoda is headed to the big screen). Then we jump into the sports world, where the Mariners are chasing the AL West, the Huskies and Hawks are racking up wins, and the Thunderbirds are off to a flying start. Hungry? We've got you covered with Hamburger Helper's new breakfast lineup (hashbrowns for the win). City Business, we break down Kent Council updates, rebates for missed garbage pickups, and new tolling on SR 509. Our feature interview goes deep into “The Life of a Pothole”—what causes them, how they're fixed, and why your car hates them so much. Round it out with Kent events you won't want to miss from the Fall Clean-Up and Caravan Chronicles' 20th anniversary to the Fall Recycling Event and a quirky “Did You Know” about the time art was actually part of the Olympics. Also if you're interested in volunteering for Team up 2 Clean Up this weekend, you can register here!
Have you ever dreamed about about launching a new venture with a business bestie, only to wonder if you could actually pull it off without losing your friendship (or your mind)? This week's episode of She's The Business Podcast is all about what really happened when two friends decided step up and create a big, bold business event in public - sharing the process with their community - mishaps and all. Today, I'm joined by Mia Fileman and Fi Johnston - the creative powerhouses behind Ripple Family Festival, Australia's fresh new “non-conferency” business event. These two are doing things very differently: they're breaking away from the same old conference model, focusing on community, creativity, and human connection, while bootstrapping it all from their own pockets… and making every part of the process public. I just had to bring them on and get the inside scoop on what it takes to launch something so ambitious, while still juggling their own businesses and keeping their friendship strong. Here's a peek at what we covered: Why did Mia and Fi feel small business owners needs something beyond the typical conference - and how did they land on throwing a festival? What's really involved in planning a major event from scratch, especially when you're funding it all yourselves? How do you pick speakers who truly add value (spoiler: it's not about big names or generic pitches)? What's the real story behind building “in public” - the wins, the awkward lessons, and why they believe it's a game-changer for honest connection? How do you make the business partnership work when your co-founder is also your friend and both of you are clear on serving your audience first? If you've ever dreamt of launching something that leaves a lasting impact - or just want a refreshingly honest look behind the scenes of a gutsy business adventure - this episode is for you. Don't miss it! About Our Guests: Fi Johnston is a small business expert with 24 years of experience advising, coaching, and consulting small brands on money and business strategy. She is the founder of Peach Business, which helps small businesses run profitable and sustainable brands. A Chartered Accountant, Fi has the credentials and experience to help small businesses become long term success stories. Mia Fileman is a marketing and campaign strategist and Campaign Del Mar founder. Mia has spent the last 13 years mentoring and training smaller brands to create successful marketing brands. Hey ShopTalkers! If you've been following along: in Episode 78 we deep-dived into how your voice can project confidence (or sometimes do the opposite), and last week (Ep 79) we unpacked the exact words that either build you up or quietly chip away at your presence. Today, we're going even deeper. Because even when your voice/word choice are on point, the way you show up in the first few seconds of an interaction still has enormous power!Did You Know? Most people form a first impression in 7 seconds or less. Those seconds aren't a luxury—they're everything.Studies show women are judged not only on competence but also warmth in those first moments. If the balance feels off, it can work against you.Globally, women hold only about 30% of senior leadership roles—and part of why progress is slow is that perception bias in first impressions plays a role in who people believe is “leadership material.”Why It Matters: If you were with me in Episode 33 (“Making a Remarkable First Impression on Your First Day”), you'll remember I shared tips for that brand-new job, how to dress, arrive early, learn names, etc. That episode was perfect if you were stepping into something new. If you're preparing for a new job, I still recommend going back to Ep 33—but know today's episode will give you skills you can use every time you enter a room. 3 Strategies You Can Use Right Now1. Prepare Your Presence: Before you walk into any space (virtual or in-person), take a moment. Adjust your posture. Slow your breathing. Remind yourself of your credentials.2. Non-Verbal Signals Speak Louder Than Many Words: Eye contact, steady posture, calm gestures. Avoid fidgeting, avoid shrinking your space.3. Lead with Clarity + Warmth: Drop softeners (“just,” “sorry,” “maybe”) up front. Replace with something direct: “Here's what I think,” or “I'm excited to share…”NEW HERE? Are you feeling discouraged by the number of people who aren't really committed - and just wish you could attract more of the high-quality clients who are ready to get results? If so, this episode is for you. I've had so many conversations with business owners who tell me they're stuck in a sea of flakes, who are searching for that magic pill, but never really showing up to do the actual work. Meanwhile, there are committed, motivated clients out there - but how do you find them? Today, I'm sharing the simple shifts that help you attract the clients you want - the ones who put in the effort, make real progress, and actually prove that yes, your offer works. No more chasing people with instant gratification syndrome or watching your email list shrink as fast as it grows. What are the subtle signs your messaging or presence might actually be repelling those dream clients - and attracting the wrong ones? How can you step into real authority and magnetically attract action-takers (even if you've been playing small or feeling like a newbie)? What makes an offer feel irresistible to quality clients - and why is a generic, “copycat” package never going to cut it? How does your own energy and investment set the tone for the kind of clients you bring in? If you're ready to be seen as the expert you are and leave the time-wasters behind, join me for this empowering episode. I'm sharing examples, honest insights, and a few of my own stumbles - plus what actually works if you want to work with smart, dedicated women who get things done. You've probably noticed how much fake content is popping up everywhere - right? It's hard to know what's real anymore, especially as AI becomes part of the mix in business and marketing. In this episode, I'm tackling one of the biggest questions I get from my clients and often hear at industry events: How can you use AI in your marketing without losing the authentic, human voice your clients connect to? I get it - we all want to save time and make things easier in our business, but does letting AI do the heavy lifting mean we lose that unique “spark” our audience loves? I share real examples from my own business (and my clients), showing that it's possible to blend smart automation with genuine, personal connection. My goal is for you to walk away with some practical ways to use these tools without sacrificing your authentic energy - or turning into a robot yourself! Curious what we unpack in this episode? Here's a sneak peek: Why is authenticity so much more powerful than we might think, even more than love? I share fascinating studies on the energy that comes from something real. What are my go-to ways to use AI to help with content creation, without letting it overtake my voice? (Hint: It still starts with YOU.) How can you use AI bots to boost your client's experience, like creating a client avatar or handy calculators - while keeping things personalized? What's the smartest way to use an AI chatbot on your sales page, so it helps prospects instantly, but never tries to impersonate you? If you're wondering how to make technology your friend (not your clone!) and keep your marketing authentic, this episode has the answers. Catch it now and start using AI the smart, human way. ...................................................... Feeling unclear about your niche? Dana and Tom and 5x Club Member, Sarah Duncan, discuss the Best Picture winner of 1930, All Quiet on the Western Front: directed by Lewis Milestone, written by Maxwell Anderson, George Abbott, and Del Andrews, cinematography by Arthur Edeson, starring Louis Wolheim and Lew Ayres.Plot Summary: All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) follows Paul Bäumer, a young German soldier swept up by patriotic fervor and the persuasive speeches of their teacher who enlists with his schoolmates during World War I. Initially eager for glory, Paul soon confronts the grim realities of trench warfare—mud, hunger, fear, and the constant presence of death. The brutality of combat strips away his youthful ideals, replacing them with disillusionment and a desperate will to survive. Alienated from civilians who cannot comprehend his experiences, Paul finds his only solace in the fragile camaraderie of his fellow soldiers. The film ends with a moment of tragic irony: just as he reaches for the simple beauty of a butterfly on the battlefield, Paul is shot and killed—on a day so quiet that the official report reads, “All quiet on the Western Front.”Guest:Sarah Duncan - Sister of Tom, Daughter of Dana@thenomadicarchaeologist on IGPrevious Episodes: Zodiac, My Fair Lady, The Artist, Inglourious Basterds, The Great Dictator, Forrest Gump, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Knives OutChapters:00:00 Introduction, Cast of All Quiet on the Western Front, and Welcome Back Sarah04:38 What Other Movies Can You See In This?06:56 Background for All Quiet on the Western Front08:16 Relationship(s) to the Film15:29 Did Dana Like It?16:23 Plot Summary for All Quiet on the Western Front18:00 What is All Quiet on the Western Front About?20:11 Ranking Best War Films29:10 Did You Know?31:38 First Break33:30 What's Happening with Sarah Duncan?33:59 Listener Feedback and Housekeeping40:02 August 2025 GMOAT Hall of Fame45:58 Best Performance(s)58:04 Best Scene(s)01:09:53 Second Break01:10:32 In Memoriam01:14:08 The Stanley Rubric - Legacy01:28:54 The Stanley Rubric - Impact/Significance01:31:47 The Stanley Rubric - Novelty01:34:45 The Stanley Rubric - Classicness01:39:46 The Stanley Rubric - Rewatchability01:44:17 The Stanley Rubric - Audience Score and Final Total01:46:02 Remaining Questions01:46:26 Thank You to Sarah01:47:09 Remaining Thoughts for the Week01:50:19 CreditsYou can also find this...
Have you ever wondered why, even when your coaching program or service feels like the perfect fit on paper, your ideal clients still aren't buying? Maybe you've heard the usual reasons: “I can't afford it right now,” or “It's not the right time.” But in reality, those surface-level excuses are rarely the true reason behind the hesitation. What's really happening? That gut feeling your potential clients experience - the intuitive “yes” or “no” - has little to do with your pricing, your inclusions, or even how well-crafted your marketing message is. Instead, it's often something much deeper that even they can't fully articulate. And unless you know how to uncover and address it, you'll keep bumping into those same frustrating objections. In this episode of She's The Business Podcast, I'm diving into the hidden reasons why female entrepreneurs, online coaches, and consultants struggle to convert ideal clients into paying clients - even when the offer itself is amazing. Fresh from a business retreat surrounded by established online coaches from around the world, I couldn't help but notice the complete polarity in the levels of success felt this year: some businesses are booming with sales while others are barely scraping by. "Why is this so?" I asked myself. Looking for patterns and clues, I noticed that there are 4 hidden influences harming sales conversions, even in those who have experienced great success in the past. It isn't the economy, the algorithm, or even the size of their audience. It comes down to something much more human - and invisible - unless you know what to look for! Here's a glimpse of what you'll learn in this episode: The silent deal-breaker: Why a mismatch between your audience and your offer makes sales almost impossible - even if the offer is fantastic. The trust gap: What's really missing if your ideal client doesn't trust themselves enough to invest in your program. Authenticity in marketing: How showing up in a way that isn't fully aligned with you can unintentionally repel the exact people you want to attract (especially important now in the age of AI content). The energy of your offer: How your own doubts or lack of excitement about your program quietly send signals that stop clients from saying yes. If you've been wondering why your marketing feels solid but sales aren't flowing, this conversation will open your eyes to what's really happening behind the scenes.
Did you know that physicians are 1.8 times more likely to die by suicide than the general population — and that female physicians are at even higher risk?If you're a resident dealing with crushing debt, long hours, and overwhelming pressure to “hold it together,” you're not alone — but you might be suffering in silence. In this episode, Coach JPMD shares the gut-wrenching statistic that sparked this new “Did You Know?” series and opens a conversation that far too many in medicine avoid.Understand the real reasons behind physician suicide that most medical institutions don't addressLearn how financial stress, burnout, and isolation intersect and push doctors to the edgeWalk away with three life-saving resources every young physician should know aboutListen now to gain insight, support, and critical tools to protect your well-being and that of your fellow physicians.

Hill, revisit The Social Network (2010): directed by David Fincher, written by Aaron Sorkin, cinematography by Jeff Cronenweth, music by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, and Armie Hammer.Plot Summary: The Social Network dramatizes the turbulent origins of Facebook, tracing its rise from a dorm room project to a global tech empire. The story centers on Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg), whose brilliance and ambition lead him to create a revolutionary social networking site. But as Facebook explodes in popularity, personal relationships unravel and legal battles erupt. Former friends and collaborators—including Eduardo Saverin (Andrew Garfield), Sean Parker (Justin Timberlake), and the Winklevoss twins (Armie Hammer)—clash over ownership, betrayal, and the blurred lines between genius and opportunism. How the TEDx pitch process works today, and the key changes you need to know -including the real number of applications it takes and the evidence you now need in every submission. What types of messages and stories make you memorable - and which mistakes hold most would-be thought leaders back? How to avoid the AI “shortcut” that could damage your trust and what truly builds credibility in a world overflowing with content. If you're craving a bigger audience for your message and wonder if TEDx or a book is actually within reach, don't miss this episode. Are you struggling to nail down who your ideal client actually is? While it's very normal to have this struggle, it's also one of the most important things for you to master because - think about it, how can you create the right offers, messaging or sales processes if you don't know who they are? How much easier would it be to decide which marketing platforms to focus on if you knew exactly who you wanted to reach? Unfortunately, the advice that's out there when you search Google, or ask your AI for help, sends you in the wrong direction! They say to review your past clients - yet if you're focused on your past clients when you define your future ideal client, you'll find yourself attracting more of the same – clients who are “okay,” but not inspiring, committed, or the right fit for what you truly love to do. And that's why so many feel stuck, or run a business they don't love, because they never allowed themselves to step away from what has been and define the future from a place of vision. Imagine - feeling excited about the people you work with, not drained by the “meh” average! In this episode, I challenge the usual advice and share practical questions you should be asking yourself to spot the person who actually lights you up. We talk about imagining the dream scenario – not just who will pay you, but who genuinely clicks with your values and brings out your best work. Here's a taste of what you'll hear when you listen in: Why following the standard advice to analyse your current clients can limit your future success What separates your ideal client from “just anyone who will pay” (spoiler: it's more than their wallet) How to flip your thinking from focusing on broad demographics to zeroing in on traits and values that matter most to you What questions I use to get beyond the surface and really uncover what makes someone the perfect fit If you're tired of generic advice and want real, actionable steps to finally build your business around people you actually want to help – you won't want to miss this episode. Listen in and let's rethink your ideal client together! ...................................................... Loving this podcast? Please drop a 5 star rating to help others find it too!
