Help me to help you. I was low and promised to never let anyone feel that way either. Especially as an entrepreneur. The life of an entrepreneur can be lonely. And why you help everyone else, you don’t always have time to help yourself. I’m here for that. Tune in to the podcast.
You're not going to believe this. Did you know there's a feature on iphone that is giving your information out? It's giving your email and phone number out. Creeps are getting it. This feature is the AirDrop on your phone. AirDrop gives you the ability to send photos in better quality and faster to those around you. But it also works vice versa. It leaves you open to having people sending you random pictures. This could be bad. People are getting inappropriate flash pictures of creeps' private parts. You have to learn to turn it off. This is also true with other features. You need to know when to have different ones on and off. This is what it means to be a copywriter. You have to learn to have different hats on and when to take others off. Your copywriter hat is on to do the writing. The marketer hat you put on to see what the business owner actually whether can help them. And the business owner hat is on to see the level of priority that they need to put into the project and expense. Learn to put on your different hats. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
This is surprising! But a venomous snake bit this guy at the San Diego Zoo. It was insane. This guy was almost killed by a wild animal. He was in the backroom feeding it and caring for it when it attacked him. The snake was forced in an unnatural environment at the zoo. Zoos try to make it home-like. They feed the animals based on the diet that they need to have. It's a simulation of the real thing. The zoo isn't real though. And the worst part was that the snake was poisonous. He was doing his job and got bit. Why? A snake was doing what a snake does and biting someone that it thought was a danger. Zoos force these wild animals in these cages and expect them to be a museum. When they get a chance, they attack. The zoo is pushing their values on the snake and it attacked. This is what happens when you push your values on another person. The other person might be nice to look at. But their values and yours may not connect. If you push your values on them, you end up with heartbreak. And from experience I can tell you it feels physical. Don't push your values on another person or you will end up putting them in a fight or flight mode. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
This was an interesting New Year's Resolution. The number one thing that this lady decided to do this year was to stop being so polite. Why did she want to start being mean or rude? She didn't want to. The lady emphasized how our definition of rude has to change. Rude isn't telling someone “no” or letting them know how it is. She would still be kind. But kind and polite are two different things. By kind she still is going to help people in need to the best of her abilities. This could include helping an elderly lady cross the road. She will continue these things. But she won't continue to say "yes" to everyone. This would spare their feelings at the cost of her own comfortability. There is such a thing as being too polite. And she was ending this. The lady started to notice she was doing a service to people by not wasting their time. I get not to be too polite to others. But what about not being too polite to yourself? We see the world as sunshine and rainbows and allow ourselves to get away with certain things. Everything should fall in our lap. All this does is waste your own time. Don't become too polite to yourself because you will pause your growth. You start making excuses for yourself. Get yourself uncomfortable on purpose to allow room for growth. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
iPhones always amaze me. These phones have so many features. Did you know that there is a hidden app on your iphone? You can't swipe over to the app library search bar and type it in like you would the traditional way. It is frustrating and embarrassing. You pay thousands of dollars for a phone that you don't even know how to 100% use. How do you find the app? In an unorthodox way. What you have to do is swipe down from the home screen after unlocking the phone and type in code or scanner. It's not a QR code scanner (I know your camera can do that), but it can also scan documents into your notes. You bring out the best of your phone by doing things in unorthodox ways. This is how you bring the best out of people. You have to unlock your true potential in an unorthodox way. There is a blueprint. Most successful entrepreneurs follow the same blueprint. But this blueprint is not the norm. If it were the norm, there would be more millionaires in the world. And once you unlock your true potential, you'll start doing things and get the most out of life. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Let's face it. The world has been one crazy place since COVID hit. Yes it has calmed down a bit. But the world has completely changed from how it was on all cylinders. Us, as Americans are comfortable and hate when things change. So for us and businesses, COVID was a big upset because it took us out of our comfort zone and shut some businesses down. Some businesses survived by adapting to the pandemic. They made remote jobs that paid six figures. Businesses were willing to pay this to make millions. A lot of people didn't want to go in stores and still don't so businesses offer remote products or services. People and businesses adapted to the worst possible situation. And if you want someone to change you have to do the same thing. I saw a question in a Facebook group asking how to change people? You can't. Only terrible situations can make someone change. For example, you may not be a fighter. But if someone tries to harm you, you will change to a fighter real quick and do things you didn't know you could do. You can't change no one. All you can do is leave that person alone and allow them to deal with the consequences of their behavior. And they'll decide whether they want to change or not. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Yes it works! The COVID Vaccine was first distributed to a small population of health care workers. I remember rumors about people having half of their face paralyzed. No one wanted to take it in my community. In fact, people were even judging others who were taking the vaccine. No one wanted to change into a zombie. Was this a valid scare? Look at it like this. HIV and cancer have been around for years with no cure. Now they have a vaccination for COVID in a matter of months.. I'm skeptical. This shows two things: One: the vaccine may not be safe. Or two: they could give cures or vaccines for these other diseases. The second sounds about right. They started distributing the vaccine to make more money. With everything shut down, businesses were losing money. There isn't a rush for the other diseases because medical companies make a profit. They rushed the COVID vaccine by putting it to a small population to see the results and they got them. California's COVID rate dropped under 2%. And 20,000 less people stopped dying weekly from COVID related deaths. They first had to put it out into a small community to see the reaction before they put it into a larger community. This is how you should market your products or services. It's called a minimal valuable product. The minimal valuable product is the smallest version of your product or service. You send out this smallest version to your hot audience to see how they react. Based on the reaction, you decide if you will proceed with it or not. You must get it out and distribute it like the COVID vaccine to see how your hot traffic reacts. Test your product to see if it works. After you see if it works, you put it to the larger population and you'll make a killing from it. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
I don't know if Biden should forgive student loans. If you are a college student you probably want to strangle me. But a lot of government officials are disagreeing. I am a former college student. But I'm still stuck in the middle because of the valid points. Yes I would love forgiveness. But if they forgive our student loans, they might as well forgive everything a young adult does that they didn't know was going on. This is what they are arguing. They are saying Biden can forgive student loans that grown adults (18) signed off on then he might as well sign off on grown adults who commit crimes that they didn't know about but did anyway. This is why there is the saying that just because you don't know the law doesn't give you a pass. It's the same thing to them. The parties know that going to college is a scam because the chances of you finding a job in your field once you come out of college are low, but it makes them money. Even though students didn't know the consequences, they made a choice. You signed, you deal with the consequences. The possibility that we have student loans still is very high. You have to have a strategy for paying them down. Especially for those who have those 30-40k college debts. Don't look at how much you need total. Worry about paying the debt back in increments. Maybe you can do 100 a month at first. And slowly you will pay it off. It won't take forever because eventually you will find a higher paying job and pay more money back at a time. Eventually it'll all be gone. This is how you maintain personal development. You want to become this millionaire, have that perfect marriage, and have that perfect beach body. First you have to chip away. To become a millionaire, first start off with making 1k a month from your business. You want to have that perfect marriage, first start off by becoming a great partner yourself. You want that beach body, start off with one pushup a day. You have to chip away at your personal development by becoming one percent better a day. And eventually you will achieve your goals. The things you hated to do will become habits, which will turn into lifestyles. Exactly like the student loans, you will put more into it as you get better. Start getting one percent better a day. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Healthcare majors are number one! There is a large reason for this and I'm about to explain. I recently started reading the news daily. And I came across an article that was saying that the percentage of people choosing the healthcare majors are going up. Not only that but.. Healthcare majors are also becoming top programs of different schools. Schools are putting more money in these majors. They are seeing everyone choose these majors, so they are adapting by funding them which will eventually lead to more money for these schools. Healthcare majors are difficult. I was a kinesiology major and could tell you firsthand how difficult and competitive these fields are. The schools put more money in these fields to fund for tutoring and make the programs better and more exciting than they already are. These programs increase because of COVID. COVID exists now, so healthcare businesses like hospitals need more nurses and more doctors to treat everybody. They are in demand right now. The schools are doing their research and catching on to trends because they know who their market is. Schools make the best marketers. You have to be this way with your business. Research and catching on to trends that are relevant to your product or service is key in growing your business. After you find out, you adjust. You put your money and effort into the product or service that will make your business the most money just like schools do with their popular majors. The market is never wrong. But you could be. Start putting the money into products or services that your market wants to see from you and watch how your business grows. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
I didn't love basketball. The only reason I was playing it was because everyone was around where I lived at and I started to grow fond of it. And I'm a competitor. Whenever I played basketball I did it to be the best at it. Same goes for working out. I hated actually doing it and wasn't motivated to workout. This made me stagnant one year and I got cut from the basketball team. I grew more motivated. But it was short lived. Joining a basketball team was the only way to help because the coach would hold me accountable. My mother paid $1,000 for me to play. And there was a big change. Not only was I working out more, but I was also more motivated to do so. This was because I was a part of something bigger than myself. And this is what your clients or followers want too. This is why you must build a tribe. Your clients or followers could do what you teach them on their own. But it might be harder. And they won't be as motivated. They will pay you because they know you will make it much easier and you will keep them accountable. Because of this, they are willing to pay you whatever amount you ask for. Where were you five years ago? Five years ago I was in a one bedroom with my brothers and my mother. It was the struggle. We ate noodles and domino's pizza every night for dinner. And helps me plan for the next five. Maybe you were in a worst or better situation than me. You can have control over your next five years. I wanted to play the drums. After seeing so many of my friends join the band and play the drums, I begged my father to get me some so I can join them. I ended up getting the flute. My sister tricked my father and told him that I didn't want the drums any more and was dying to play the flute. He bought me it. I was so embarrassed. It was embarrassing because not only were none of my friends playing the flute, but I was in a class with all women and I was the only boy. As a child I thought I would get made fun of for it. I tried my best not to go to practice or be good at the flute because I didn't want to be seen with it. My dad tore my behind up for wasting his money. After that I was locked in to playing the flute everyday and practicing my “hot cross buns.” Eventually I got good. And I carried my flute around like a flag in the air because I was confident from all of the work I put in. I'm not saying you will be an expert flute player as I was when I was younger. But I am saying that if you keep working at your skills, you will become better and more confident. You can build your business to the way you want it to be. Action builds confidence. I understand that at first, you will be uncomfortable because some in your circle won't think like you and you will stand out. So what? Eventually you will show off the fact that you stand out and you will become extraordinary. Continue taking action and your confidence will build in your business. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Did you watch the new Justice League movie? If you didn't I'm going to give you a review of it right now without spoiling anything. It was awesome. What made it so good? Well apparently the director got switched half way through the movie. The first Justice League turned out terrible. It was so bad that my fiance and I left the first five minutes of the movie when we were at the movie theater. If you saw it I'm sure you would agree. But Zack Snyder (the director) didn't let this stop him. Snyder took the feedback from the unfinished project and then he created a new and better version of the same movie after a few tweaks. This is how you must be with your marketing for your product or service. The first piece of copy you put out might not be good. But you tweak it and put it out and this could switch your hundreds of dollars campaign to thousands. This is a good point but isn't the point of this post. Since we are on the topics of superheroes, the point of this post was to explain the true power of copywriting. The true power to relate two totally unrelated topics and make them relate to each other. This makes your copy more exciting. And it makes your reader want to read to the end of the post and keeps it in their mind. If you read this far, you were already caught in the trap of my superpower. Try to master this part of copywriting and you should see growth in your personal brand. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
I was confused. And I'm still confused now, but on a different level. I'm in a program now. This program helped me gain clarity in what copywriting was. But now I'm confused on something different. I'm confused about gaining an income. And after having a call with a trusted friend from the program he helped me see what the problem was. I keep on trying. Trying is a problem because it is a poverty word. It is a poverty word because trying is so much more different than doing. I've been “trying” everything. But I haven't been implementing what I have been learning from the courses well and that's why I'm in the position I am in now. I'm not saying I'm not grateful. I am extremely grateful for the progress that I have made. But I now understand what will get me over that hump. And It's probably the same for you. I'm about to describe a guy. The type of guy I'm going to describe we all know well. This type of guy hops from woman to woman and continues to complain on social media or in public how he wishes he had a girlfriend that was all about him. There is something all of these type of guys have in common. They are all about themselves. It's always a comparison of how attractive they are, how much money they make, or what accomplishments they have. Women don't want to hear this all of the time. I know this because I was this kind of guy before. And now I'm engaged to the woman of my dreams. Instead of making it all about myself and how I compare to anyone else she has ever dated… I started making it about her. When I started doing the research about what she loves and making it about her. What am I telling you this for? This is how you have to be with your traffic. Sometimes as marketers we are egotistical because that's what human beings are and we toot our own horn. We do it so much that the client feels disconnected because we might seem too good for them. It has to be about them. When you make it about them, they are more connected to your brand and more likely to exchange value with you (money) and be with you forever. Exactly like a relationship. Start making everything about your ideal client and you will have them interested forever. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
This basketball team sucked. They had no structure, barely had talent, and no organization. Every game ended in losses. But still one player still had hope that they wouldn't lose every game and spoke it into existence. They continued to lose. Speaking wins into existence wasn't working because the team only had a select few people who were putting in the work. It takes an entire team of motivated and talented individuals to win. And this taught me a valuable lesson. Affirmations aren't going to make you successful. What makes you successful is the affirmations you make and the work you put into those affirmations. I speak making 10k a month into existence. In return, I work on honing my copywriting skills each and everyday with the correct mindset. If you want to make a change don't just speak it. There are two professors. First there is the professor who isn't too hype about their job but they like the money and the benefits. They read the slides like zombies. You don't learn anything from that subject because it's super boring and unengaging. Then there is the second professor. He loves his job so much that he is hype about it 24/7 and always tries to get you engaged with the way he wants to teach it. He'll have you do activities he wants. You learn more, but sometimes it blows you when you want to have a lazy day. What do these two professors have in common? They both have tests. But in all of my years going to school I have only met one professor. One. Who didn't ever give us a test and hates them. This was different. But this wasn't the only different thing about him. He also had different teaching styles. This professor would link every subject to a story that we as his student could relate to and had us describe it in that way as well. What did this do to us? This helped us grasp even the most difficult lessons and in turn love the class. All of this was possible because of stories. Stories help us connect emotionally to something and relate so that we can grasp the information better. It makes it more memorable. My fiance is a perfectionist. This makes her very self critical of herself in every aspect. A task could be five minutes. She will end up taking twenty minutes just to make sure it is done correctly. This can be seen as good. Courtney makes sure whatever she does she is the best at it. And I admire this because I do this as well in a way. But it can be seen as a bad thing. You are so focused on trying to do things perfectly that you don't take time to have gratitude for how far you come. And she started to do this. Until recently she changed. She started to have gratitude for how far she has come from those wigs she used to make when we first started dating almost four years ago. And now her energy is different. My fiance's energy is so much more positive and she is attracting way more clients than she has ever done before. And it's all because of worrying about POP. What is POP? Progress over perfection. I love watching Game of Thrones. It is just awesome. For lack of better terms. The battles, the mythical creatures, the unexpected twists and all of it. But this isn't the best part. The best part about this show is how applicable it can be to our own world. Different lessons. If you haven't watched it, I'm not going to spoil it completely. But there was a war. The war was a fight for freedom against the evil queen. And the young general was winning every battle. He still ended up dying. But he was winning his freedom because he was skilled in battle strategies. We aren't at war with the queen. But we are at war with time and trying to get financial freedom. We could learn a lesson from this rebellion. He won those battles because he was skilled. Skills win battles regardless of if the odds are stacked against you. Learn a skill. It's impossible. One man can't change the world. Without changing his own world first. Let me give you an example. My mentor search post went pretty well as far as engagement. I had a lot of people reach out. And I ended up finding a copywriting mentor closer to my income and also making a friend. This is how. I would ask the copywriters that reached out to me how much revenue they generate monthly. This posed a problem. A lot of people are uncomfortable talking about money and see this as disrespectful. They didn't tell me. I didn't want to work with them because I needed us to be fully authentic to each other. And plus y'all give money too much power. If we keep it as sacred to talk about, how do you expect to make any? You won't. I wasn't asking exact numbers, but I was asking a range because I was looking for someone around 5k a month willing to work with me to get to where they were. And then once I get there, I will look for 10k and so forth. This is how I met my friend. He was authentic in telling me what he made monthly about and I trusted that he could help me get there as well. And it taught me this valuable lesson. Who are you? You probably answered this question with a bunch of adjectives that describe you. For example, I used to answer this question by stating I was a copywriter, boxer, black king, husband, etc. But this isn't true. My mentor would remind me to open up the Bible to Genesis 1:27. We were made in the image of God. What does that make us? This makes us gods with a lowercase “g.” A god is fruitful. This doesn't mean to go around the world just having a bunch of children. This means to be productive. If you are productive on the right things, you will build a legacy. A legacy similar to our Father's. But not as big. Consistently remind yourself of who you are. Stop being so difficult on yourself that you didn't obtain the ultimate goal. My achievements are: A fiance. I spoke it into existence that I would marry this woman. And I made it happen. I got better at boxing. My coach tells me that I now control the matches when I fight. And I'm loving every moment of it. I hit the bonus at my job. It was difficult but I got better at closing and offering at my job. I got new business partners and clients. My network continues to grow everyday of amazing people that I can share my skill with. “The more you learn, the more you earn.” My mentor Dan Lok repeats this everyday. This is very true. In school, we spend time learning the basics of different subjects. And what happens when you learn enough? You graduate to the next grade. This makes a problem. The problem is that you learn enough to get to the next grade, but when you finish from high school or college, you stop learning. This is when learning begins. You have to start learning financial responsibilities. Money runs the world. Your goal in the world is to make as much money as possible as quickly as possible. You can be wealthy. And in order to do this you have to learn as much as possible to graduate your current income. Whether this is a skill or just financial literacy in managing your money. We all try to survive. Sometimes this means any means necessary. We are willing to be dishonest. We are willing to always get the sale. Our goal is to make as much money as possible in this jungle we call business. Just like a wild animal. But the problem is this isn't what it takes. It takes more than just trying to get the money. How can you get money or rule the jungle if you have nothing to offer? This is how it should be looked at in business. When you are doing these cold calls or these organic outreaches it should be with a purpose. Not to sell the person who you are talking to. But to see how you can exchange value and boost each other up. For example, I'm working with an entrepreneur where she is using my copywriting services and I'm using her funnel building or marketing. She is creating a course. It is a partnership. I will be writing for a percentage of the revenue that goes through this campaign. I didn't close her. Instead we found a way to build each other and give each other value or more exposure. This is the reason for networking. Don't do organic outreach to get the sale. Discipline sucks! Those gurus that are telling you to stay disciplined are all asking you to do the impossible. One can't just stay disciplined. Well at least they can't stay disciplined by themselves. Let me give you an example. How many times do you hear smokers talking about how they are trying to quit smoking? All the time. But they just stop smoking suddenly and still hang out with people who still smoke. They will never be able to quit. It's impossible to quit because their environment and friends all smoke so it's easy to fall back into that habit. Instead a smoker should hang out with people who don't. The people who don't smoke actually find the act of smoking disgusting and they hate the smell. They will tell you to not do it around them. Eventually, you will stop smoking because everyone around you isn't smoking. Stop trusting yourself. Your discipline is not strong enough to hang out with a bunch of losers and try to be a winner. I was ashamed. It was shameful trying to talk about security from a job or starting a business with no skills. I used to own a franchise. This franchise required me to make calls and do door to door sales when I couldn't close to save my life. I was losing money. My favorite excuse was that it takes you spending money to make money. BS. It doesn't matter how much money you are spending if you aren't spending it in the right places. You should spend it on mastering your skills. I spent money and time this year learning to close, write copy, and public speaking. This is true security. True security is knowing that you have skills that are irreplaceable and there will always be in demand for them. Closing is irreplaceable. I'm the number one salesman at my job in my district by far and I know that my job won't fire me because I'm making money. Copywriting as well. It is a very difficult skill to write and shift people's emotions through the written word to get them to take action. And finally public speaking. It is irreplaceable to be able to speak to large groups of people and control their emotions as well. These skills are like riding a bike. You never quite forget how to do them. Now I know that I'm secure because if I ever lose money, I can make it back with these skills. Skills equal security. Start stacking your skills today and if you don't have the time, hire someone who does have these skills. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
All unsuccessful people have similar traits. Those traits are one of these four distinctive ones: They hate their job and complain about how bad their job is everyday. They don't workout and are very sedentary. They eat a bunch of junk food. They are negative nancy's and just do negative activities These are problem traits. All of the time spent complaining about your job, you could be trying to change it or doing something you love. It only takes about an hour a day for four days a week to be active. You can save money from cooking healthier meals at home. And you being negative is a choice. These activities drain the energy that you have in your body. You need energy. More energy means more money because you are vibrating at a higher frequency. Start doing something about these negative tasks that you are doing. Begin working out, eating healthier meals, doing what you love, and start speaking and bringing positivity into your life. Choose more energy in your life. Begin with these tasks today. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Be like a phoenix. A phoenix burns up and then rises a new phoenix from the ashes. They start over completely. This is your problem. Your problem is that you are trying to grow and tackle the same problems as the person you are without burning the old you up. You won't get anywhere. If you are choosing growth you have to kill the old you. To kill the old you.. Replace your old habits, with completely new habits. For example, instead of watching tv read a book. If you keep doing these habits long enough, it will become your new lifestyle. This will kill the old you. Everything comes with risk. You have to choose wisely on what you do and how you plan to lower that risk. You're probably not going to know what to do. Hiring someone is the quickest and easiest way to lower the risk on any investment. This is their profession. They have spent years mastering their craft at this. There is a better chance that they can get you something back from your investment. This is how it is with business. Business is always talked about how great of an investment it is. But it can be a bad one. Business can turn out being bad if you try to do everything yourself. You try to wear too many hats. This concludes in you losing a lot of money and wasting a lot of time. I propose something different. You should hire someone else to do different tasks to make your investment in business a good one. Remember they are trained for this. Yes they can still put out bad work. But the chances are slimmer. For example, a copywriter can put out a bad campaign by going based off of what he may know. He will know it is bad. Knowing this, he can figure out what parts to edit in order to get you some more results. More results equals more money which means you are happy. Yes you paid him some money in the beginning to invest in results. But you get better results so that money doesn't even matter. Hire experts in different parts of your business in order to lower your risk and get better results. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
I molded the current me. Before I was an obese child who just loved to play video games. I was bullied. Being bullied made me uncomfortable in my own skin. This made me unattractive to other women, I was shy, and very subconscious about my body. Being uncomfortable stopped my growth. How could I grow when I was scared to do anything that was out of my comfort zone? I couldn't. This problem is what made me start to do different things to build me into the man I am today. I was shy, so I started playing sports that forced communication. Also, I have a podcast that makes me talk. I was obese. Between boxing, basketball, and weight training, I lost a lot of weight and started to mold my ideal body. This growth made me attractive to women. And I ended up with getting the woman of my dreams. This taught me a valuable lesson. If you don't like the person you are, then build the person you want to be. Choose growth today by building the person you want to be. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Haters are gonna hate. Don't worry about how they are saying something, but more on the lines of what they are saying. Sometimes they give valuable information. Others are just saying things to bring you down to their reality. They can't achieve it. They hate to see you even trying to achieve something that they don't believe to be possible. You may feel bad. It could stop your progress worrying about the hate that they give you. You don't want to spread negativity. I used to think this way until my mentor said very important words to me. “If you don't have haters then you aren't doing something right.” Don't let them affect you. Whenever I get hateful comments under my posts, I respond with positivity. “I appreciate your comment.” Don't stop doing what you are doing because of some haters. Haters are a good sign. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Copy is never perfect. It's all about tweaking a piece of the copy and putting it right back out for better results. For example, if you have a low click through rate. You have to change your Call to action. And you will get better results and in turn, make more money. This is how life is. Life is about either winning or learning a lesson and then applying it. Don't be scared to make mistakes. You will fall and mess up, but you have to learn and reapply. If you don't reapply, you won't grow. Go out there and start winning or learning. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
This post is for the kings. If you take offense easily without reading it through, do not read. Men have one goal. This ultimate goal that men are trying to achieve is to impress women. It has always been this way. Women are men's motivation to achieve extraordinary things like make money, get stronger, etc. The problem isn't this. Ultimately, the problem is that men try to impress women with the money or the nice body and they share their energy with too many women. You should stick with one woman that will force you to level up. If you have urges to mingle with many women, you can use this energy to go towards your creativity in anything that you do. It's called sexual transmutation. I'm not saying to not do it. But I'm saying the problem is when men do it with many women who will distract you from your goals. So if you are truly trying to achieve your goals, find that one woman who will motivate you. I'm not saying to look for a relationship. But if you have someone good, don't ruin it king. She will force you to level up. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Surround yourself with positivity. What you surround yourself with will be what you will take from everything. For example, I'm a copywriter. I surround myself with copywriting so any time I see a copywriting or marketing video, I take from it the copywriting things that will help me grow instead of seeing the video from a negative lens and comparing myself to people. The problem is you are surrounded with negativity. And since you are surrounded with negativity, anytime you see a post giving value or a business opportunity you see scams. You'll never grow. I'm saying that the chances of you growing are solely affected by your mindset and what you choose to take in. Why do you think two people can watch the same video and one takes it in and makes money off of it and the other watches it and gets nowhere? It's all about what you choose to take in. You have two choices. Either choose negativity or choose to take in positivity. This choice will decide on whether or not you are going to grow in anything that you do. Choose today. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
I'm grateful for my mentor. He was a ten year overnight success and helped teach me the concept of perseverance. I had symptoms of shiny object syndrome. Shiny object syndrome is when you jump onto the next best thing that comes out instead of being locked in on one thing. I was able to stay locked in for a year. This was a year of earning no money, but just investing in my skill and practicing it each and every day. I am now gaining clients daily. I'm getting small wins now that will eventually lead to a big win. This is how successful people come about. They do small little tasks everyday and get small wins everyday that lead to them being a ten year overnight success. If you want to be that overnight success.. My morning routine is simple. I throw a motivation video on, make my bed, drink water, read my affirmations, and get ready for a workout. This gets repetitive. Some days, I don't really have the energy to do this morning routine or start my day. I needed to make a change. If I couldn't fix my morning routine to make it more energetic, then I have to go further back and think about how I end the night off. I do the traditional things: brush my teeth, wash my face, brush my hair, etc. But there was something else that was the problem. I like to sleep with the TV on. This isn't necessarily a problem. But the problem was that I was watching American Dad or regular television before I went to bed. Whenever I watch actual television, it makes me get the energy of not doing anything else but that. I needed to change this. So I still slept with the TV on, but I started going to sleep listening to public speakers or self improvement videos from my mentor. And I noticed something. I noticed that I would wake up earlier with more energy and the desire to learn more and grow. Then a light bulb went off in my head. How good your morning routine is depends solely on how good you end the night off. So if you want to improve your morning routine, start ending your night right. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Confidence is key. How many times have you heard this? But you don't know how to build your confidence. This was me. Until I realized an important lesson from copywriting. I talk about this a lot. It will sound repetitive, but the first project I had for copywriting was terrible. It was supposed to be a product description. But it was written like a sales landing page. I didn't know the difference. But trust me, there's a huge difference between the two. This killed my confidence. How could I help another person if I didn't know what I was even doing? I couldn't. And this put a cap on my income because I didn't know what I was doing. But then I made a change. I started to rewrite top sales letters, reading copywriting books, writing copy, changing my environment, and taking different programs. And I started to notice something. I am now more confident as ever in my copywriting and I am closing new clients day by day and earning myself an income. I gained confidence. Where did it come from? It came from training and working on my skill. So if you want confidence.. Work on your skills. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Just do it. Whatever in life that you are on the edge of doing, just do it. You won't regret it. Right now you are probably scared to make mistakes. You are an overthinker. This can be good at times, but in some cases it is causing you more damage than you think. I was just like you. Before my basketball mentor always used to tell me that I was the best on the court. He believed in me more than I did in myself. Despite him saying this, I still was scared to make mistakes and just followed what the coach asked me to do. And I barely made mistakes. But I also didn't make any extraordinary plays. I ended up not playing basketball no more. But it taught me this valuable lesson in the new sport that I do participate in and anything else that I do. If you are overthinking on something, just do it. You will make mistakes, but you will also grow more than anyone who is scared to make mistakes. Just do it. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Everyone looks at me crazy. I am not like your typical 23 year old. And I remember this specific moment when someone agreed with my ways. I was at bible study with a pastor. And we were discussing the bible and how you don't have to take it literal all of the time because it teaches different lessons. This was music to my ear. Everytime I would talk like this, people would think that I'm crazy. But this pastor didn't. And he left me with a message that I would never forget when it comes to anything I do in life. Different is better. If you try to be better at something, you will continue to do the same things the same way but try to improve. Instead try it from a different angle. And almost always it would be better because it is completely different. Taking this into consideration, I try to do everything different than the masses. Whatever the typical person is doing at my age, I don't. Be different. And you will almost always be doing better. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
The first year was rough. I went -$5,000 as far as money made from my copywriting business. How am I in the negative? Well I spent $5,000 on copywriting programs and books in 2020. And it paid off. I just got my first paying client. And it was only for fifty bucks but it is some money coming in from a skill I put in a year trying to learn. I wasn't sitting around doing nothing. There was work being done for clients in exchange for a testimony. Results were being made. And now it is being used as leverage to show my clients to help close them. A year down and I got results. You need organic outreach. There is no way for you to get around reaching out to potential clients. At least to start. Eventually you will get to the point where you will have customers or clients coming to you. And at first you will be nervous. Everytime it is your first time doing something, you will be nervous. There will be rejections. But I see rejections as one step closer to getting your first yes. Before I would start with building value. But people don't usually respond to that even if you are offering a free service. They don't care. Clients want results and they are willing to pay for that. At first I would start with building a little rapport. I might notice they are a life coach. And that will be how I start the conversation. “Hey I see that you are a life coach.” And usually they would respond because I said something that would peak their interest. Everyone loves to talk about themselves. And eventually leads to you scheduling an appointment to talk over the phone. Your goal is to get them on the phone to close them there. This is your goal because you can make more money getting on the phone with a customer. It builds trust. They can put a voice with the face and they are more likely to pay you. You can get more money this way. But before this you want to build enough rapport to see how you can build value. You will ask qualifying questions. But you are still getting to know the prospect as well. And you may not close the prospect. But you get to meet amazing and positive people along the way. You are networking. To build your network and to close more clients.. Start building rapport in your organic outreach. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
You are the answer. The greatest investment that you can make is in yourself. Some say stocks. They think stocks will get you by if you learn how to trade. For some it works. And for others, it will have you wasting money when the market crashes and you will lose a lot of money. Some will talk about doing real estate. But what happens in times of pandemics when your residents can't pay you rent? You don't get paid. These forms of passive income require you to rely on how the economy is doing. Now I'm not saying not to invest in them. I'm saying to not make these your primary forms of income you invest in. All you can rely on is yourself. Invest in yourself and learn high income skills that you can earn from. Examples being closing, copywriting, public speaking, etc. Developing these skills will grow your financial confidence. It's pandemic proof. Financial confidence is the confidence to earn back any money you lost with the high income skills you required regardless of how the economy is doing. In fact, during economic crises you earn more. Everyone is worried about how they are going to make money when you are using your high income skills to generate revenue. It cuts out the excuses too. You are your job. You're probably thinking there is no way that this is a true statement. And you know what? You're absolutely right! In fact once you leave those doors at work, you are a completely different person. Your job has nothing to do with you. And when you are at work, you aren't giving your all. Well you might. If that job is something that you truly wanted to do for the rest of your life, then you probably are. But you aren't enjoying it. This isn't what you want to do for the rest of your life, but you're doing your best because you need a steady income. You know that this job doesn't define you. Some jobs you are doing something or selling a certain way that you wouldn't want to do it in the first place. But you have to. You need the money. But your business is opposite. You love your business because it is an expression of you. With business, you have more choice on what you want to do and how you want to make your money. It's yours. Not saying you don't have any choice with work. But with business you can switch it up and start doing something completely different whenever you choose to. You can choose who you work with. And this is what makes them different. When it comes to your job, you are trying to separate your personal life and the job completely. But with business you want them as intertwined as they can be. For example, when you take vacations from your job, you are getting away for a couple weeks with pay, but you don't want your job brought up at all when you are enjoying yourself. With business it's the opposite. You don't have to set aside dates for you to go on vacation with your family or by yourself. It's about taking advantage of opportunities. You may have a business trip to meet one of your clients in Miami. And you can handle your meeting with your client, and then enjoy the Miami beaches or clubs afterwards. I met a personal trainer. It was through FaceBook and I thought it was interesting how he could build a funnel for his personal training. I personal messaged him to learn more. There I asked him some qualifying questions to see how I could bring value. Skip forward. I asked, “Do you have a copywriter?” He replied, “no.” I followed up by asking, “would you be willing to get one if that meant getting you better results?” He stood firm with his no. In fact he said, “a copywriter isn't what I need right now.” “I need more leads, more clients, and more money.” I couldn't help but laugh. Everything he explained that he needed, a copywriter provides. And it made me realize something. A lot of people don't really know the job functions of a copywriter. Including copywriters. They believe they get paid to write. But this isn't true. Copywriters get paid to generate revenue and drive results. This could be done in many forms such as sales pages, emails, organic posts, etc. And you're probably thinking why would they want to only get paid a portion of what they generate for you? Think of it like this. A copywriter gets a slice of the pie. At first the pie might be small. But if they keep bringing in more dough, the pie gets bigger overall. Which means a bigger slice. You might think you can do this. But copywriters such as myself spend up to years understanding the psychology of buying. And you are merely trying to guess. Hire a copywriter to do the work for you and drive results and stop being so cheap. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Kobe is the G.OA.T. Most people think he is the greatest of all time because of his accolades and skill to the game of basketball. It's not. He is the greatest of all time because of his mamba mentality. Most people think they know what this is. Mamba mentality isn't just the ability to outwork someone every time. There is a deeper meaning. The mamba mentality is to continuously be a student to your craft and pick up what you can from different mentors. And sure some think he's a copycat of MJ. But no. Kobe has taken different pieces from different people's games. Maybe MJ's athleticism. But he got his post game work from “The Dream.” You see how he modeled his game. And this is what you can do for yourself in any craft you want. Yes you may not have natural talent. You may be a person who naturally talks too fast or isn't cool. I'm a tense guy. I really don't know why, but everything I do for the most part is tense to some degree. My coach told me to relax. And he would tell me to be comfortable when we would spar. But I didn't know how. How could I be comfortable when I could get punched in the face? I have never been in this situation before. My coach was a pro boxer so if he wanted to punch me in the face, he could do it. Could you imagine how your own face would look getting all swole? Not me. And this was my reason for being nervous in tense. But this isn't just boxing. Aren't you like this with everything you do in life? Aren't you nervous of doing it and worry about what obstacles you may face? This is fear. Fear is your imagination of what the worst possible scenario could be. You know you are going to fail. But the thing about failing or in this case, getting punched in the face is that you will eventually learn how to block. And there are different types of punches. There is the jab, hook, and uppercut. You may learn how to block or dodge the jab the first time and then you are hit with a hook. So now you must learn to protect yourself from that. The first time you get hit. And maybe not the second or even tenth time, but eventually you learn to protect yourself and adapt. Once you learn that, you are unstoppable. My friends are family. Some of them are closer than blood. My closest group of friends I met through playing basketball. We all played together for years. I met many people through basketball, but there is one major difference between my closest friends and the ones I just know. My close friends stuck around post basketball. Our grind changed from basketball to winning in this game of life. They stood on my team for good. This is why loyalty goes such lengths. It is difficult to find friends who are supportive regardless. But this could be bad. If they are supportive, but they aren't advancing you they can stay around. But you don't spend the majority of your time with them. I'm blessed to have them around. But for some, they claim they don't have any friends. That could be good. I felt like crap after writing this piece. It was my first product description for a couple dollars and I felt terrible after. There was no way this was legal. I'm charging a small business to write a few thousand words when I didn't even know what I was doing. I began to doubt myself. And when I started to doubt myself, the client started to doubt me too. I didn't get paid all of my money. He went ghost on me and to this day still owes me $20. Do you see how when doubt started to creep in I started to lose money? You have to believe in yourself. It doesn't matter if you just started doing whatever you started yesterday. If you want to be successful in it, you have to see yourself as that thing.
